    1. Vertical Pack for Soviet Navy

      Soviet Navy Vertical Pack 1.00

      This is the first complete version of the Vertical Pack, now including the Yak-41M (also known by its commercial designation as Yak-141). I have modeled the plane as if it was deployed into combat units with its military designation Yak-41M. The plane served aboard the aircraft cruisers Novorossiysk and Baku, and on the aircraft carriers Tbilisi and Riga, from 1991-2010.
      This is a fine tuned or modified collection of everything I could find to improve the planes.
      I lot of time was invested in research and testing to provide you a working and accurate Yak-38/38M and Yak-41M. All feedback and suggestions are appreciated.

      Install

      I tried to include every component I have used with the planes, so it should work with a fresh unmodded SF2:NA. If you have DirX 9 and Win XP, then you also need Gerwin's IcelandNA modded terrain for XP to be able to play SF2NA on your PC.

      Just copy everything into your designated add-on folder and it should work. Beware it may overwrite existing add-on files and components you already have. Check it first, especially weapons.

      - Kiev class tactical numbers separately done, due to decal limit per mesh.
      - General purpose Soviet Navy red star insignia for ships
      - Soviet Navy Ship tactical number decal set 001-999
      - Updated decal.ini files for ships (Udaloy, Slava, Kirov, Kresta II, Kashin, Krivak and Ulyanovsk) to display new ship numbers, insignia and name decals.
      - Wide-screen 16:9 and old 4:3 Hangar and Loading background pictures are both included in each aircraft folder.

      Fixed

      - Fixed Yak-41M engines, flight model, balance, lift force, fuel amount, range, aerodynamics, slats, loadout, undercarriage spring effect, weapon station structure, nav lights and sound. Also some HUD/Avionics graphics changes.
      - Mi-8 skin minor fixes + new template
      - Yak-38 Northern Fleet skin (dark blue) colors changed.
      - Yak-41M minor 3D fixes (Lift engine cover, LERX, texture mapping, canopy glass, pylons)
      - Fixed ranges and seeker head of AA-10 Alamo missiles, as well as some minor bugs in inis
      - Fixed Kh-29T and Kh-29L missile speeds and turn rate.
      - Fixed AA-12 Adder (Folded version) launch animation entry in data.ini

      Changes

      - Yak-38/38M New weapon station stucture to exlude some IRM types.
      - Yak-38/38M loadouts modified with Delta-NG
      - Added separate MDB2 rack with RackSpecific entry for Yak-38 outer pylons. This way other aircraft (Yak-41) can use the normal rack.
      - Yak-41M uses afterburners on VTOL mode correctly (effects added)
      - Modified MBD3-U6 rack, changed the bomb sequence in order to avoid using the RackLimitOutsideOnly setting for Yak-41M.
      - Kiev aircraft cruiser STOL version has been added. It uses a more realistic launch arrangement. This "variant" of the ship is now Kiev (82) class, added separately for campaign use. In 1982 pilots have started to use STOL takeoff doctrine. The "catapult" launch places has been reduced to two, and are using the majority of the deck, along the two converging yellow lines which have this exact purpose. The ship otherwise the same like Kiev (wo. suffix) VTOL mode.
      - Separate Flight Manuals in text files.
      - Yak-38/38M flight model has been simplified with the usage of center-of-mass shift. I did not know that feature earlier. It has no change on the previous flight performance.
      - Mi-8T added lights and optional unarmed version without pylons.

      - Yak-38 VTOL flyable.
      - Yak-38M VTOL flyable.
      - Weapons: OFAB-100, 250, 500 etc from SovietBombPack; Kh-23 missiles, UB-8M, UPK-23 gun pod and MBD2 racks from Ordnance Shop II; APU-60-1 rack from Cocas

      - Soviet Navy Grey skin (Redrawn stock skin)
      - Soviet Northern Fleet skin (Redrawn stock skin)
      - Soviet Navy pilot Bright orange overalls (Redrawn Red3202 pilot skin made by The Trooper)
      - Two loadout.ini for both aircraft, a loadout.VTOL and a loadout.STOL. Overwrite loadout.ini to switch between them as you wish for AI and campaing use.
      - Three Kiev_data.ini's one for STOL and one for VTOL style take offs. Use the VTOL loadout file for the VTOL take-off modded Kiev, for safety reasons. The third INI has a "castrated" take off position #1 (Catapult 1) to enable human player VTOL take-off, for Soviet Navy campaigns and missions.

      Fixes

      - Fixed engine thrust vectors and exhaust positions
      - Re-added lift engines to fuselage
      - Fixed number decals position
      - Fixed pylon ordnance positions
      - Fixed Ranging Radar and gun pod's aim point
      - Fixed Kiev class carrier "catapult positions" and AI aircraft take-off. Now they can use all six takeoff positions, and supports vertical takeoff.

      Changes

      - Real thrust data added based on factory data.
      - Yak-38 automatic slats by Gepard
      - New vertical capable flight model, weight and torque balanced airframe.
      - Changed lift engines thrust angle to 80 degrees to the aft.
      - Engine thrust toned down by 10% to reflect real payload lifting capabilities.
      - Realistic payload choices added. Be warned, pylons are physically capable to hold much heavier payload than the plane can take off with. See payload info at the end of file.
      - Modified weapon stations to hold realistic payload
      - Removed plane numbers from 01-09 (Those were in use of Yak-38U two seaters)
      - Modification of plane numbers. Yak-38 tend to have lower numbers, grey 38M's take higher numbers, and extra easter egg))) (roughly to represent real planes)

      Added

      - Kiev_data_VTOL.ini for vertical take offs (recommended for operating helicopters)
      - Kiev_data_Player.ini for disabling Catapult #1 to enable free vertical take off by player aircraft or helicopter.
      - Extra parking places added
      - 6 working launch places (catapults)
      - Fake arrestor cables untouched, they are needed for fake hooks used by AI Yak-38s.

      Overwrite Kiev_data.ini with the desired file.

    2. SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 3

      SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 3

      This mod supplies a collection of MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers, created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory, and heavily modded by Lindr2 for SFP1. (These are not mods of the 3rdWire Floggers supplied in the SF2 titles.) All have been converted and updated to SF2 standards. Also included with this mod are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft supplied with this mod.

      This mod consists of three parts:

      Part 1: 1st Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23S, Mig-23M, MiG-23ME, MiG-23MF,
      MiG-23MF, MiG-23UB)

      Part 2: 2nd Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23ML, MiG-23MLA, MiG-23MLAE, MiG-23P,
      MiG-23PD, MiG-23-98, MiG-23UM)

      Part 3: Ground Attack MiG-23s (MiG-23B, MiG-23BN) & MiG-27s (MiG-27,
      MiG-27D, MiG-27K, MiG-27M, MiG-27ML)

      Each of the three parts includes all the decals, pilots, sounds, effects that you will need for the aircraft in that part. The WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.

      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Please note that installation of these aircraft will overwrite & replace the default 3rdWire versions included in the various SF2 titles. I recommend that you first REMOVE the 3rdWire MiG-23 and MiG-27 versions - even if you haven't modded them -- before installing these alternate versions.

      To install, simply drag the following folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to):

      \Effects
      \Flight
      \Objects
      \Sounds

      By default your Mod Folder should be located here:

      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\

      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to.

      If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly. And remember, the WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.

      A Few Notes About This Mod
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Those familiar with Lindr2's Flogger packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated mod builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:
      1) Different Engine Sounds & Afterburner TGAs
      I have used different engine sounds and afterburner TGAs to give the various engines used by different models distinct sounds and appearances.
      2) NATO Code Names
      The aircraft names do include the NATO code names, whereas Lindr2's SFP1 versions did not use them at all. Also, the Air-to-Air weapons use both NATO and Soviet names/designations (e.g., "R-73 AA-11 Archer").
      3) Wider range of Skins/Nations
      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations, drawing on the various one-off skins that have been released by other modders.
    3. Tornado GR1/GR4 for SF2
      Tornado Gr1 and Gr4 for SF2 by Sundowner via AD.
      Hanger screens by Sundowner and Dave
      Various ini edits by Dave, Wrench, The and Sundowner
      Skins by Sundowner
      New weapon edits....by dtmdragon and IanH!!!! Thanks fellas.... Ian really busted his butt off in this so most of the credit goes to him.
      Included are the updated files for AD & Sundowners Tornado GR1 & GR4 series. Copy and paste these 3 folders into your Mod folder (usually C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe\) to update both the Aircraft and the new Weapons.
      This has been designed to work on everything from a Stock Game (Sept '11 patched) to a fully Modded install with NATO Fighters IV etc. The new weapons are standalone and will not affect other weapons packs, however you may see other weapons from your pack are available. Please use the ones labelled "RAF (WEAPONS NAME)" (they're all grouped together for ease of use) as these have all been designed and/or modified for this Tornado Pack specifically, even though the Weapons may seem to be identical to ones you already have.
      RAF TORNADO VERSIONS
      ---------------------
      GR1_82 (1982-1989) - Carrys Unguided 1000lb Slick/Retarded Bombs, BL-755 Cluster Bombs, JP233 & ALARM.
      GR1_90 (1990-1997) - The LGB years when the TIALD Laser Pod came into service which allowed it to carry 1000lb GBU-123 LGB's.
      GR1DS_90 Desert Storm (1990-1991) - Year limited for Op Granby (Desert Storm) only. It can carry the same weapons fit as the GR1_90 above.
      GR4_98 (1998-2005) - A complete systems overhaul of the GR1_90. Although massively upgraded from a GR1 due the RAF's lack of Hi-Tech weaponary this kept virtually the same weapons fit until 2002 when the RAF purchased their 1st truely Smart Weapons, the 1000lb Enhanced Laser/GPS Guided Paveway II and the Bunker Busting 2000lb Enhanced Laser/GPS Guided Paveway III.
      GR4_06 (2006-2020) - 2006 saw the RAF finally get the advanced set of weapons they needed which included new Litening III Designation pods, 500lb Enhanced Laser/GPS Guided Paveway IV, Laser & IIR Brimstone Anti-Tank Missiles, Storm Shadow Cruise Missiles, ASRAAM and the RAPTOR recon pod. Due to their higher collateral damage risk the larger Paveway III was phased out for the the new Super Weapon the Storm Shadow, a Stealthy 500+ mile ranged Cruise Missile. This weapons update makes it the most advanced combat load currently carried by any aircraft in the world.
      ROYAL SAUDI AIR FORCE VERSIONS
      -------------------------------
      GR1_93 RSAF (1993-2005) - The Royal Saudi Air Forces version of the standard GR1_90.
      GR1_06 RSAF (2006-2020) - A modernisation program in 2006 brought their GR1_93's to a GR4-Lite standard. It can carry IIR Brimstone (but not Laser) and Storm Shadow but none of the other advanced weapons/pods that a standard GR4 can carry.
      ------
      1. Because the Tornado carrys all of it's offensive weapons underneath please view the 3 loadout pictures included to understand which drop-down menu is used for each type of weapon.
      2. The ALARM Missile model comes with it's own launch rail built-in. I've tried to hide it in the Aircraft models ALARM Launch Rail but a tiny part is still visable, sorry.
      3. The RAF's Enhanced Paveway III model is incorrect. I had to use a GBU-27 model as the current GBU-24 model (around which the RAF EnPW3 is based) is sized incorrectly.
      If you find anything broken, strange, doesn't look right or even if you're a Tornado buff and spot that somethings in the wrong place please let me know on the CombatAce SF2 forums.
    4. F/A-18F
      F/A-18E/F Super Hornet from Wiki....
      ******************************************************************
      F/A-18E/F Super Hornet
      The Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a supersonic carrier-capable fighter/attack aircraft. The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is a
      larger and more advanced derivative of the F/A-18C/D Hornet. The Super Hornet entered service with the United States Navy in
      1999, replacing the F-14 Tomcat since 2006 and will serve alongside the original Hornet. The Super Hornet was ordered in 2007
      by the Royal Australian Air Force to replace its aging F-111 fleet.
      Airframe changes.The forward fuselage is unchanged while the wing, center and aft fuselage, tail surfaces and power plants
      are new. The wing area of the Super Hornet is 25% larger.The fuselage was stretched to carry more fuel and room for future
      avionics upgrades. An engine with 35% more power, the General Electric F414, was developed from the Hornet's F404 to power
      this larger, heavier aircraft.The Super Hornet can return to an aircraft carrier with a larger load of unspent fuel and
      munitions than the original Hornet. The term for this ability is known as "bringback". Bringback for the Super Hornet is in
      excess of 9,000 pounds (4,000 kg).
      Other differences include rectangular intakes for the engines, a reduced radar cross section (RCS), two extra wing hard
      points for payload, and other aerodynamic changes.One of the most significant of which is the inclusion of significantly
      enlarged leading edge extensions (LEX) which provide improved vortex lifting characteristics in high angle of attack
      maneuver, and reduce the static stability margin to enhance pitching characteristics. This results in pitch rates in excess
      of 40 degrees per second.[ In the end, the Super Hornet shared little with earlier F/A-18s aft of the forward fuselage. The
      Super Hornet has 42% fewer structural parts than the original Hornet design.Flight characteristics include being highly
      departure resistant through its flight envelope, and having high angle-of-attack with care free flying qualities for combat
      and ease of training.
      Radar signature reduction measures
      Survivability is an important feature of the Super Hornet design. The US Navy says that a "balanced approach" to
      survivability was built in to the design.This means that it does not rely on low-observable technology such as stealth
      systems-to the exclusion of other survivability factors. Instead, its design incorporates a combination of stealth, advanced
      electronic-warfare capabilities, reduced ballistic vulnerability, the use of standoff weapons, and innovative tactics that
      cumulatively and collectively enhance the safety of the fighter and crew.
      The F/A-18E/F's radar cross section was reduced greatly from some aspects, mainly front and rear.The design of the engine
      inlets reduce the aircraft's forward sector radar cross section. The alignment of the leading edges of the engine inlets is
      designed to scatter radiation to the sides. Fixed fanlike reflecting structures in the inlet tunnel divert radar energy away
      from the rotating fan blades.
      The Super Hornet also makes considerable use of panel join serration and edge alignment. Considerable attention has been paid
      to the removal or filling of unnecessary surface join gaps and resonant cavities. Where the F/A-18A-D used grilles to cover
      various accessory exhaust and inlet ducts, the F/A-18E/F uses perforated panels that appear opaque to radar waves at the
      frequencies used. Careful attention has been paid to the alignment of many panel boundaries and edges, to scatter traveling
      waves away from the aircraft.
      It is claimed that the Super Hornet employs the most extensive radar cross section reduction measures of any contemporary
      fighter, other than the F-22 and planned F-35. While the F/A-18E/F is not a true stealth fighter like the F-22, it will have
      a frontal RCS an order of magnitude smaller than prior generation fighters.
      Avionics
      While there are some similar cockpit items of the original Hornet, the Super Hornet features a touch-sensitive, up-front
      control display; a larger, liquid crystal multipurpose color display; and a new engine fuel display.The Super Hornet has a
      quadruplex digital fly-by-wire system, as well as a digital flight-control system that detects and corrects for battle
      damage.Super Hornet production started with the APG-73 radar. The APG-79 AESA radar was introduced later (see the upgrade
      section below).
      The AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR (Advanced Targeting Forward Looking InfraRed), is the main electro-optical sensor and laser designator
      pod for the Super Hornet. Defensive systems are coordinated through the Integrated Defensive Countermeasures system (IDECM).
      The IDECM system includes the ALE-47 countermeasures dispenser, the ALE-50 towed decoy, the AN/ALR-67(V)3 radar warning
      receiver, and the ALQ-165 Airborne Self-Protect Jammer (ASPJ). Aircrew have the ability to use night vision goggles (NVG) for
      Super Hornet operations which means the aircraft interior and exterior lighting are NVG compatible.
      1. Update Notes
      ---------------
      This Update contains all the fixes from previous patches, and it can
      be applied to any version of the game. Earlier patches do not need
      to be applied.
      This Update also raises the mimimum system requirement for the game to
      the following:
      OS: Windows 2000/XP
      Processor: 1.0 GHz
      Memory: 1.0 GB RAM
      Hard Drive: 1.5 GB free space
      Video Card: 128 MB DirectX 9.0c
      After installing this Update, the game may require newer version of
      DirectX to run correctly. Please visit the Microsoft website at
      http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3
      to download and install the latest version of DirectX.
      We highly recommend you install this update over a clean install of
      the game - uninstall the game first, manually delete the folder to
      remove any mods not uninstalled, reinstall the game from original CD,
      then apply the Update.
      Many previous mods are not fully compatible with this Update. If
      you find any mods not working correctly, please check with mod-makers
      to provide you with updated version of their mods.
      List of changes in this Update include:
    7. Armed UH-1H
      ITS only a Beta vers. IT dont have a pit.
      I have changed the ini's so all you need is to download the UH-34 Seabat and Copy/paste the Cockpit folder and the UH-34_COCKPIT.ini
      from that chopper. REMEMBER both files and dont remame the ini.
      Also install the weapons that came with UH-34 Seabat and you have a nice armed UH-1H.
      Thanks to MontyCZ for creating this. And for his permission to upload this bird
      SF2 Mirage 2000 Foreign Operator Pack
      This is a FULL merged SF2 Pack... Tested up to Mar2012 Updates.
      Each Foreign Mirage 2000 Operator is included (Full Fleet of each Air Force).
      I have done the following:
      1. Most of the tweaks on the files
      2. All the Mods on the files
      3. All the skins on the files (using MF as the base)
      4. All the modified weapons on the files
      5. 3 separate cockpit glass tint
      6. Modified afterburner/effects (tested 4 different one, settle on the one on file)
      The Air Force included:
      HAF
      Qatar
      ROCAF
      UAE
      EAF
      FAB
      FAP
      HAL
      I want to thank 'Crusader' for trying to tweak the cockpit by YEYEYE, and for approving the use of the .LODs.
      The cockpit's main Attitude Inidicator is not model appropriately so the standby is the main ADI.
      I have lock the main ADI to only capable of 'yaw'
      If you want to use the default MF cockpit, just change the name on the MF's cockpit.ini and avionic.ini to correspond with the aircraft's name on file and copy and past to the main files alone with the MF cockpit folder.
    10. CatPack Archiving utility
      CatPack - Archiving utility for Third-Wire CAT format, GB 17-07-2011.
      V1.22, Freeware, Use at your own risk, files limit is set at 8000.
      Packs all files in current folder to CatPack.cat except CatPack.exe/CatPack.cat.
      Unpacks any cat file you drop on the icon to a folder with the archive's name.
      You can press Ctrl+Break to interrupt and close the program, but it will leave
      files unfinished when doing so.
      UPDATE:
      CatPack V1.1 will extract contents of the new Strike Fighters 2 Cat (no 2) archives.
      The Display will tell the Cat version to be 2, instead of 1.
      Subfolder information contained in version 2 archives will be restored properly.
      The unicode filenames in the version 2 archives are converted back to ASCII,
      therefor actual unicode-only characters in filenames will not be restored.
      Catpack does not yet support creating a version 2 Cat archive. Maybe later.
      CatPack V1.11 works properly when Cat files are in folders that have their
      'archive' flag set. This seems to be the case with the SF2 objects folder.
      CatPack V1.12 has some additional features when extracting a Cat archive:
      First it automatically creates an index file of the Cat file.
      Second and it allows one to optionally pass a wildcard string, only files matching
      this wildcard string will be extracted from the archive. For example "mig" will
      only extract files that have "mig" in their name or extension.
      CatPack V1.22 Supports extracting a slightly new Cat format (no 3) as introduced
      between May and July 2011. Yet the compressed format that was also introduced
      is not supported.
      As SF2 since that time does not recognize version 1 cat archives, support for
      creating version 2 and 3 was added. Though without packing subfolders. For now it
      is recommended to just use format 2.
    11. Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King SF2. re-mod.
      This is simple remod, overhaul of Florian's Sea King model.
      Model itself is Florian work and all hail to him for his work.
      ---------------------------------------------
      The names of all contributors, modders, suppliers, etc =MUST= be listed in any new readmes.
      This package and any part of it may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.
      Any persons wishing to make further modfications, MUST remember to put everyone's name in it.
      This mod represents SH-3D and some versions of SH-3A used by US Navy for CSAR operations.
      Althoug Florian's SH-3 represents something between A-D Generaly it fits here but are not hundred% correct.
      There were also two D versions with small differences...but this is different story.
      This is version 2 uploadaed with smaler size of skins.
      You can also download only skins in seperate rar file.
      Model itself is untouched by me. Only in A version ive removed few bits by ini work.
      Using Florian's skins ive made templates and new skins.
      In this pack SH-3D skins are:
      HS-4 'Black Knights' USS Ticonderoga 1971
      HS-5 'Night Dippers' USS Wasp 1970
      HS-11 'Dragonslayers' USS John F. Kennedy 1976
      SH-3A is made for Wings over Vietnam mod.
      It represents only one unit:
      HS-6 'Indians' USS Kearsarge 1966-1968 at Yankee Station.
      Plus additional one skin with shortly used camo paint.
      All decals are made by me and are based on available documents and photos. So lets say - historicaly correct.
      This helo got new ini work. So if you have old Florian SeaKing - do a backup. Becasue this is new and you might not like it.
      new aircraft data ini with new flight model, and few differences
      animation keys reassigned.
      Sonar and MAD operations are same as before, ANIMATION KEYS 3,4,5
      Right side rear slide doors are opened as bomb_bay
      left side slide door as ANIMATION KEY 1
      Rotor brake ANIMATION KEY 7
      Folding rotor ANIMATION KEY 8
      Ive put some speed limits for animations up to 30 kts for doors,and rotor animation so you can fold onboard vessel.
      Flying is done same way as in my helos. Vector thrust controll, etc.. it is pretty simple.
      Last thing:
      There is new cockpit. As replacement ive done some simple generic cockpit for SH-3. Since there is lot of versions of SeaKing lot of pits, this is generic and simple build, that should fit here.
      Consider it as beta, few things are not working there.
      ***************
      THIS COCKPIT FOR SH-3 SEA KING OR ANY PART OF IT MUST NOT BE HOSTED OR
      POSTED FOR DOWNLOAD ON ANY OTHER WEB SITE WITHOUT MY EXPRESS
      PERMISSION, OR USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE THAN THIRDWIRE FLIGHT
      SIMULATORS, AND MUST NOT BE SOLD OR OFFERED FOR SALE BY ITSELF
      OR WITH ANY OTHER FILES OR MODS.
      ***************
      Unpack the files.
      Drop all files into your mod folder the way they are setup in this pack.
      Credits:
      Florian - BIG thanks for model.
      Yakarov79 - me: INI work , skins, decals and cockpit.
      Have fun.
      Edit and report bugs.
    13. F-16E/F Block 60 REDUX
      F-16E and E Block 60 Desert Falcon's redone!
      I uploaded a older E/F pack that was pretty awful to be honest here is a much better redo!
      Made using the Block 50/52 models now to make it look better in general as well as some updates to the skin!
      Built using the Greek and Turkish F-16's as a base so if you have those the E/F should work just fine! You should already have all the weapons and sounds from earlier F-16 packs! Happy Hunting in the Gulf!
      Thank you to the Viper Team and everyone else who has worked on the SF2 vipers or this would never have been possible!
    15. StrikeFighters2 "Operation Hydra"
      29 Jun 2011
      StrikeFighters2 Cuba "Operation Hydra" V1.0 for post May 2011 Update.
      Campaign For SF2:Europe, SF2:Vietnam and SF2:Israel Merged Install.
      This is a Campaign that takes place in the Bahamas and Caribbean with Cuba
      being central to the order of battle. Soviet and Chinese Forces are
      gathering in the North and West and are first trying for a foothold through
      Cuba into the United States. Guantanamo Bay has been taken by Soviet and
      Chinese Forces. Some are aware of certain individuals in control and are
      pushing for One World Control through International Organizations such as
      the U.N., CFR, IMF, International Banks and the Top 2 percent whom Own half
      of the entire planet trying for One World Control, Along with One World
      Religion by 2015.
      I've Melded some of Stary's Taiwan and Israel Tiles with my Korean Tiles
      for some variation.
      The Campaign includes USAF, USMC, and USN with Carrier support. Australia,
      Mexico, Honduras, Cuba, Soviet, China, Royal Air Force and 3 Mercenary
      Aircraft for Campaign play.
      Installing the Campaign:
      Campaign files with menu pics and Music files, Rain, Ejection Seat and
      Parachute Effects are included. Also Included 1 Icon File for the Main Dir
      to use with the Desktop Shortcut.
      A few extra Files are needed: The E-3A.LOD's for the E-3 "Sentry" can be
      found in Operation Desert Storm in the "ODS_part1.exe" file or at Skunkworks.
      The A-37B-R5.LOD for Aircraft Folder and A37B_PIT-R1.LOD for the Cockpit for
      the A-37B Dragonfly and the MQ1-R0B.LOD for the MQ-1 Predator at Skunkworks.
      Just drop these into the corresponding Aircraft Folders.
      Make a copy of your "StrikeFighters2 Israel.exe" or
      "StrikeFighters2 Europe.exe" in the program folder and rename it to
      "StrikeFighters2 Cuba.exe". Also make a copy of the INI and rename it
      "StrikeFighters2 Cuba.ini" in the main dir.
      Now Run the New "StrikeFighters2 Cuba.exe" and go the the
      "Saved Game folder" "StrikeFighters2 Cuba" and delete the "Aircraft"
      and "GroundObject" folders. New ones will be created. I've included all the
      Aircraft and Ground Objects including the Default SF2 files you need,
      You do not have to sift through them. You can add Aircraft later if you
      want. Also open the Options.ini file and change:
      [singleMission]
      AircraftType=A-10C_10
      Service=USAF
      ........
      MissionDate=2010
      StartYear=0
      EndYear=2050 <------------to this
      EditMission=FALSE
      Now Run the Mod Installer and point it to the New User Directory
      "StrikeFighters2 Cuba Folder. Overwrite if it asks.
      You should be ready to go.
      I want to thank the Community for all their effort.
    16. Soviet Bombs Pack
      Soviet Bombs pack for SF2.
      README
      I'm glad to present to you my Soviet Bombs pack. This project took over a year of hard work and involved consulting extracts from the original manuals and the employees of FSUE "Bazalt".
      The pack covers bomb designs starting with 1927 when the first Soviet bombs were created based on pre-Revolution models. The complete list is provided at the bottom of the readme.
      I can provide anyone with the source files of the models and textures (*.max and *.psd formats) for their use on the following conditions:
      - you may freely use the sources to create non-Soviet variants of the bombs (designs from China or WP countries)
      - you may freely use them to create non-Soviet bombs and other weapons
      - if you want to improve a particular entry in the pack, you must get in touch with me fist
      - if you want to make a Soviet bomb omitted from the pack, you must contact me first too
      INSTALLATION
      - Unpack to a temporary folder
      - Copy flies from Weapons folder to Objects\Weapons in your mod folder
      - Copy flies from Effects folder to Effects in your mod folder
      Notes
      1) Despite the popular belief bomb names such as FAB-250, 500 etc do not mean that the bomb weight is exactly 250, 500 etc kg. The bomb types are in fact more strictly regulated in terms of size than weight. According to 1941 standards a FAB-250 had to have a diameter of 325 mm, length of no more than 1500 mm, but could weigh 220-280 kg.
      Further examples:
      FAB-250 M46 - 220 kg
      FAB-500 M46 - 428 kg
      FAB-250 M54 - 236 kg
      FAB-500 M54 - 473 kg
      FAB-250 M62 - 227 kg
      FAB-500 M62 - 497kg
      In case of significant difference between a bomb's real and nominal weight, the name reflects this
      FOTAB-250-215 (weighs 216 kg)
      FAB-1500-2600TS (2584 kg)
      2) Since the weight of some bombs exceeds the nominal one those bombs may be unavailable if a plane's pylons are set up for a precise load limit in data.ini.
      For example
      FAB-3000 M54 weighs 3067 kg
      FAB-9000 M54 weighs 9407 kg
      As a result Tu-16 with LoadLimit=9000 can't carry 3 FAB-300 M54 or 1 FAB-9000 M54, thus to make planes fully compatible with this pack it is advisable to alter pylon load limits as following
      LoadLimit=100 -> LoadLimit=125
      LoadLimit=250 -> LoadLimit=275
      LoadLimit=500 -> LoadLimit=535
      LoadLimit=1000 -> LoadLimit=1100
      LoadLimit=1500 -> LoadLimit=1600
      LoadLimit=2000 -> LoadLimit=2150
      LoadLimit=3000 -> LoadLimit=3100
      LoadLimit=5000 -> LoadLimit=5250
      LoadLimit=6000 -> LoadLimit=6200
      LoadLimit=9000 -> LoadLimit=9500
      3) If you were using MGunny's Ordnance Shop II for SF2 by 331Killerbee
      http://combatace.com...hop-ii-for-sf2/
      - delete folders listed here since these are the older versions of the bombs included in this pack and the new versions use different folder names
      BRAB-220_1930
      BRAB-250
      BRAB-500
      BRAB-500_1930
      BRAB-1000
      BRAB-1000_1930
      FAB5000
      RBK-500 OAB 2.5RT
      ZAB-250
      - overwrite folders with the same name since they contain updated versions of the same weapons
      4) Cluster bombs have a minimal release altitude, provided in the list. Figures have been verified and are considered historically accurate.
      5) Do not edit bombs of FOTAB, DAB, NOSAB, DOSAB, SAB, ODAB, AGITAB types using the Weapon Editor, since it will erase the effect description in the data file upon saving. Those bombs are also marked with *.
      6) Flare bombs have 2 different effects
      - cluster flare bombs detonate on the ground and create multiple light sources
      - single flare bombs create a slowly descending flare in the air. Minimal release altitide is provided in the list.
      7) Chemical bombs and propaganda leaflet dispensers deal no damage
      8) Cluster bomb PBK-500 MBD generates multiple smoke sources which can cause a significant fps drop.
      9) Day time signal bombs and some practice bombs have a coloured smoke effect.
      10) Night time signal bombs and some practice bombs a colured flame effect.
      11) Cluster mine dispensers are implemented the following way:
      - The dispenser opens up and scatters the elements in an area.
      - 20 seconds later the elements detonate
      The ordnance is designed to be dropped in front of enemy ground formations on the move.
      12) Model pivot point is almost universally located at the intersection of the bomb axis with the veritcal line drawn from the suspension lug of the bomb (front lug if there are several).
      As the result the pivot point hardly ever matches the geometrical centre of the model.
      The reasons for that adjustment are
      - Most Soviet bombs' centre of gravity is located at thats point (and the front suspension lug is the main one).
      - Many Soviet bombs, such as the entire M-54 family have extruding fins.
      - Many bomb racks (such as BDZ-57MT) have cutouts for the fins, which require precise bomb positioning.
      13) Bomb colors
      - The regulations introduced back in 1912 stated that bombs must be painted navy gray.
      - In real life bombs were all shades of gray, bluish gray, light blue, greenish blue depending on the paint used and the storage conditions.
      - In the war time bombs were not painted, which is reflected in brownish textures imitating rust.
      - To underline the variety of bombs in the pack, signal and illumination bombs are gived blue shades, photography flares and cluster bombs are bluish-green, incendiaries are gray etc.
      14) Bomb markings
      - before the '60s VVS used short names ("500" instead of "FAB-500") and colour rings to mark bomb types
      - starting with the '60s and the '70s full names without colour markings were used
      - sometimes different bombs of the same model can have different marknigs (some short, some full)
      - I placed the full names on the post-war bombs and the short ones on the earlier models (written in black paint)
      - I used authentic tables of drop rate (written in white paint) whenever it was possible
      15) Thermostable (Thermoresistant) bombs were designed to be carried on MiG-25 and can withstand prolonged heating in high-speed flight. They can be dropped from any altitude up to 25 000 m. FAB-500 M62T and FAB-250 M62T do not differ much from the basic model.
      16) The bombs in the pack have identical drag chutes. In real life different bombs have different chute designs. Probably this issue will be amended later.
      17) Captured German bombs were metioned in the documents of FSUE "Bazalt" from 1941 to 1945. Since originally they used a different suspension mechanism, I have redesigned their suspension to make it compatible with the Soviet hardpoints.
      THANKS FOR TRANSLATION, Gr.Viper !
    17. Foxbat Package
      Mig-25 package by wpnssgt, usafmtl, tomcat1974, sundowner,ghostrider, deuces and moonjumper.
      Pit is one made by the MF. This pit is stand in until we get a good Foxbat pit. But with MJ's pit tweaks its works just well.
      You must have the latest wep pack in order for it to work. Also on the 2 seat version make sure you have the latest vid drivers as there was an issue with it when you take a screen shot. Not sure what it is. But is all I could come up with as a solution.
      Package includes:
      Mig-25P - Interceptor
      Mig-25PU 2 Seater
      Mig-25R Indian AF Version
      Mig-25BM Anti Radar Version ------A2G Radar only
      Mig-25RB Recon/Bomber ------A2G Radar only
      Mig-25PD - Interceptor
      Install:
      Put in your aircraft folder and go fly!
    18. SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 2
      SF2 MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers - Part 2
      This mod supplies a collection of MiG-23 & MiG-27 Floggers, created by ArmourDave and The Mirage Factory, and heavily modded by Lindr2 for SFP1. (These are not mods of the 3rdWire Floggers supplied in the SF2 titles.) All have been converted and updated to SF2 standards. Also included with this mod are all the weapons, sounds, pilots, and seats that you will need to install and use any of the aircraft supplied with this mod.
      This mod consists of three parts:
      Part 1: 1st Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23S, Mig-23M, MiG-23ME, MiG-23MF,
      MiG-23MF, MiG-23UB)
      Part 2: 2nd Generation MiG-23s (MiG-23ML, MiG-23MLA, MiG-23MLAE, MiG-23P,
      MiG-23PD, MiG-23-98, MiG-23UM)
      Part 3: Ground Attack MiG-23s (MiG-23B, MiG-23BN) & MiG-27s (MiG-27,
      MiG-27D, MiG-27K, MiG-27M, MiG-27ML)
      Each of the three parts includes all the decals, pilots, sounds, effects that you will need for the aircraft in that part. This is the second part. The WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THIS PART -- THE 2ND PART.
      These aircraft can be used in SF2, SF2E, SF2V, or SF2I. To install and use them, you should ensure that your SF2 installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level. See below for installation instructions.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Please note that installation of these aircraft will overwrite & replace the default 3rdWire versions included in the various SF2 titles. I recommend that you first REMOVE the 3rdWire MiG-23 and MiG-27 versions - even if you haven't modded them -- before installing these alternate versions.
      To install, simply drag the following folders to your SF2 Mods Folder (NOT the folder that the game installs to):
      \Effects
      \Flight
      \Objects
      \Sounds
      By default your Mod Folder should be located here:
      Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[Game]\
      ...where [username] is the account you log into within Windows and [Game] is the name of the particular game mod folder that you're moving the files to.
      If the aircraft are not showing up in your Single Mission Aircraft menu, then you didn't install all the bits correctly. And remember, the WEAPONS are contained ONLY IN THE 2ND PART, which means that you MUST DOWNLOAD THE 2ND PART TO GET THE WEAPONS.
      A Few Notes About This Mod
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Those familiar with Lindr2's Flogger packages for SFP1 will rightly recognize that this updated mod builds on his earlier efforts. Although I have largely followed Lindr2's lead in assembling this package, there are some noteworthy differences between his SFP1 collections and this one:

      1) Different Engine Sounds & Afterburner TGAs

      I have used different engine sounds and afterburner TGAs to give the various engines used by different models distinct sounds and appearances.

      2) NATO Code Names

      The aircraft names do include the NATO code names, whereas Lindr2's SFP1 versions did not use them at all. Also, the Air-to-Air weapons use both NATO and Soviet names/designations (e.g., "R-73 AA-11 Archer").

      3) Wider range of Skins/Nations

      You will find a wider range of skins used to represent more nations, drawing on the various one-off skins that have been released by other modders.

    20. WOV Air & Ground War Expansion Pack Gold - Jan 2012 Update

      WOV Air & Ground Expansion Pack v. 1.1 - Jan. 2012 Update

      This is an update package for the "Wings Over Vietnam: Air & Ground Expansion Pack v. 1.1" Gold/Final Release available at CombatAce. Containing fixes and enhancements for both the Aug. 2006 and Oct. 2008 patch levels, it is designed to be applied over the top of an existing installation of the version 1.1 Expansion Pack. You can download the three main Expansion Pack files here:

      Part 1:
      http://combatace.com/files/file/10281-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-part-1/

      Part 2:
      http://combatace.com/files/file/10282-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-part-2/

      Part 3:
      http://combatace.com/files/file/10300-wov-air-ground-war-expansion-pack-gold-part-3/

      This update is designed to be applied over verison 1.1 (Mar. 2010) of the Expansion Pack. If you installed the original version 1.0 from Dec. 2009 but have not updated to the Mar. 2010 version (available in the links above), you should update before applying this update package.

      Please take a look over the remainder of this ReadMe before installing the update.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      The installation process has two phases: one for all patch levels; a second for the Aug. 2006 patch level. Here's how to apply this update package:

      1. Ensure that WOV is properly installed and patched to either the 8.30.2006 or 10.20.2008 level.

      2. Ensure that the Expansion Pack v. 1.1 (Mar. 2010) is installed to your WOV Installation Directory.

      3. Unpack WOV_AG-XP_Apr11.7z to a safe place on your drive.

      4. Open the \All_Patch_Levels directory. Drag and drop all the files and folders from within the \To_Install_Dir to your WOV Install Dir, overwriting as prompted.

      If you are running WOV at the Oct. 2008 patch level, then your installation process is finished. If you are running at the Aug. 2006 patch level, then you have one last step.

      5. If you are running the Aug. 2006 patch level, then open the \Aug_2006_Patch directory. Drag and drop all the files and folders from within the \To_Install_Dir to your WOV Install Dir, overwriting as prompted.

      Now, perform some CLEANUP. This update splits the A-1H Skyraider into two aircraft: the older A-1H, used by the USAF and VNAF; the new A-1H_USN, used by the Navy. All the skins for the new A-1H_USN are included in this update. You should remove the following unused USN skin folders from the older A-1H folder in \Objects\Aircraft:

      USNGrey1
      VA-25
      VA-36
      VA-52
      VA-75
      VA-95
      VA-115
      VA-145
      VA-152
      VA-165
      VA-176
      VA-196
      VA-215

      That's it. You should be good to go.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Optional A-1 Cockpits
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Included in the \OPTIONAL\A-1_Cockpits folder is an alternate cockpit for the A-1 Skyraiders. This cockpit, made by Dels, was released in Oct. 2011.

      The \A-1_Cockpits folder contains one copy of Dels' A-1 cockpit, including the \Cockpit folder as well as the necessary COCKPIT.INIs for each of the Skyraiders.

      Also included in A-1_Cockpits\old-cockpit are backups of the old .INIs and the old \Cockpit folder from the original Expansion Pack install.

      Note that the new A-1 cockpit is already installed to the newly added A-1H_USN aircraft. Thus, installation is necessary only for the older A-1H aircraft.

      To install:

      1. Remove the existing \Cockpit folder from each of the A-1 folders in \Objects\Aircraft (found in your SF2V Mod Folder).

      2. Copy the new \Cockpit folder to each of the A-1 folders in \Objects\Aircraft.

      3. Copy the new COCKPIT.INIs to the appropriate A-1 folders in \Objects\Aircraft.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      A Note on the Helicopters
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Several helicopters have been added as flyable aircraft in this update. Set the "Flight Model" in "Game Play Options" to "Normal," and use your thrust vectoring controls in conjunction with the standard WOV flight controls to maneuver and fly the helos.

      At the end of the day, though, Strike Fighters is NOT a helicopter sim. That means helo flight models are rough, unrealistic, and borderline unstable. It also means that AI helo pilots can occasionally run into difficulties, esp. when trying to land these things.

      Until someone creates better helo flight models for WOV (or TK updates the ThirdWire flight engine to accommodate helicopters), that's just the way it is. If you don't like the way the helos fly, then don't fly them.

      This is an improvment for Marcelo's Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker B with original Air-to-Ground capabilities that came from the original T-10 prototype.

      My very thanks to Yeyeye for the cockpit, Marcfighters for the original model and all other moders of combat ace for the skins, sounds and weapons.

      This is a freewere add-on and its under combat ace coprights

      I'm also working on the Su-27P the interceptor / air superiority version who came from the T-10 prototype, but it can take some time due to the political instability here in South America, I'm an activist too.

      Hope you all enjoy.

    22. Mig-29C

      This is a minor update to the Mig-29A to bring it up to the later Mig-29C configuration. This variant included an ECM capabilty (not always installed) along with a basic air to ground capability with conventional bombs and rockets only.

      This variant is still in service around the world in a number of countries including the current Russian Frontal Aviation.

      Thanks to wpnsgt and USAFMTL for the permission to post this version.

    24. WOLF's WWII aircraft pack

      READ-ME!

      This is an inclusive read-me file for the WWII Aircraft pack.
      Unzip the pack to your Objects folder.

      Make sure you have a Nations.ini file that has the entries for Nazi Germany and Japanese Empire or these planes will make your game crash.
      These planes run fine on my system and several dissimilar test systems so if you have problems with them, you're on your own.
      They are provided as-is with no support what-so-ever.
      If you find you don't like them, that's what the Delete button is for.
      There will be no changes, improvements, or upgrades to them EVER so don't even bother asking.
      The skin templates will be uploaded as a pack just like the planes.
      You are free to repaint the planes and do with the skins you create as you please.

      YOU ARE NOT FREE TO REDISTRIBUTE THESE PLANES IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, FORM, OR FASHION.
      YOU ARE DAMN WELL NOT FREE TO CHARGE FOR THEM OR TRY TO MAKE MONEY WITH THEM IN ANY MANNER.

      WOLF

      CREDITS:THANKS

      ArmourDave for allowing me to use his Zero cockpit.
      Major Lee for several excellent P-47D-20 skins, loading and hanger screens.
      Wrench for several really really nice hanger screens.
