The Soviets built very large airfields. But astonishingly there are no hardened aircraft shelters or other protection buildings.

F-16D Block 40 in USAF service to be very specific. looking at 74th Fighter Squadron in 1994 and Arizona ANG (which hosts the Air Guards Viper School and so has more than one or two on hand) but went back and looked closer at the Poland F-16D. antennea removing trick works quite will on this (no gaping holes when its removed) skin could use some love, but hey, why would you think im asking? edit: if you got something ready to go it would be appreciated. the C models are using the Block 30 and 40s as used in the ODS release, but this model is going to need alotta love before releasing. and for probably 4 skins with 6 serials apiece The C models had much more planned.....

I am improving the afterburner further with more tweaks and managed to get the afterburner to have more realistic light effects at night. No more afterburner acting like a flashlight anymore.

Hello everyone, I updated the thread title to SFCE. The reason why the name is Strike Fighter Community Expansion is that this mod uses various mods made by authors from CombatAce. This mod is not only for my Saad - Zafir project. It is also for the community to use freely too! What you will see in SFCE: However, SFCE, in another hand, does NOT add any new add-on plane to SF2. The reason of this: With SFCE, anyone can use it as base to add any mods to it, build their own mod pack on top of it, or import big mod packs and upgrade it to work with SFCE. LINK to SFCE Beta 1.2a: https://www.mediafire.com/file/8s9f09dp35iwyjb/SFCE_v1.2a.7z/file I am able to release the beta now, it is all thanks to CombatAce community for the supports and pictures needed for the projects, including Ravenclaw_007, Wrench, Nightshade/PR, Menrva, Daddyplanes, and Trotski00 for helping me with advice, pictures/videos references, modding, and aircraft information and Coupi for testing and fixing the sounds problems in F-4s ini files. I especially want to thank to all authors of mods for giving me the permissions to use various mods for this project. If there is any names I forgot to mention here, please let me know. I will add your names here asap. My apologies. this beta version Includes changes to all A-1s, A-4s, and F-4s series. A-6 is being worked on now. The feedback will be always helpful to improve this mod even further. Please let me know if you see any errors with the loadout, sounds, and other features. BUGS / ISSUES: 1) I am still puzzled by these bugs. When using F-4s and turning the navigation light on, as you start rolling down the runway, the light won't cover the whole runway. There are sections that blackout the light area. If any of you know how to solve it, please let me know. If any of you know or suggest additional mods I am not aware of that improves TW aircraft, please let me know too. 2) There is one issue in Egyptian Mirage 5SDE's loadout.ini. BFT is not working in loadout.ini, BUT you still will be able to have 4 of bombs loaded instead of having total 8 bombs with BFT automatically. At least BFT still works well and you can manually load them in loadout. If any of you know how to fix this, please let me know and I will happily update SFCE with it ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello everyone, I have to put the project on halt for now. The life situation suddenly changed. My wife is in hospital and I am doing everything to take care of the situation. It is the hardest time in my life. I need to step away from CombatAce for time being until the situation improves. I will be back someday. Eagle114th

Fixed it. The issue was in the mod download the folder is called Groundobjects instead of GroundObject so when I checked my Objects folder there were two folders. I needed to copy the ground objects into the correct folder. and now all is good. On the next flight, flying Hurricane 2Bs against the Luftwaffe field at Brest - stop that sniggering at the back - Jerry's ack ack units were all present and correct and doing a roaring trade...

Attention Pilots! We are proud to announce that we are now accepting Pre-Orders for three new Collector Planes! We continue to build and offer interesting and legendary aircraft for the Great Battles series that enhances gameplay and offers new experiences to our customers. The following are now available for Pre-Order in the IL-2 Official Webstore! All feature a 20% Pre-Order Discount! - Sopwith Snipe - Siemens-Schuckert D.IV - Spitfire Mk. XIV w/ Teardrop Canopy All three of these planes are in development and we plan to release them later this year and each represents the pinnacle of aircraft design for their respective eras. Sopwith Snipe 7.F1 The Sopwith Snipe was a late-war entry into combat and represented the pinnacle of British Great War fighter aircraft. It began replacing Sopwith Camels in the autumn of 1918 and went on to server post-war after the Armistice was signed in November 1918. The Snipe was the last British fighter to come equipped with a rotary engine – the Bentley BR2. The BR.2 made 230 hp which allowed the Snipe to be a little faster than the Camel. Although not blistering fast by 1918 standards, it was a very maneuverable fighter. The Snipe had a faster rate of climb than the Camel and it could fight superior German machines more effectively at higher altitudes. The Snipe came armed with two .303 machine guns and had improved visibility over its predecessor. It could also carry a small bomb load like the Camel. It’s combat life was short, but both British and Australian squadrons had success with it before the war ended. Siemens-Schuckert D.IV The Siemens-Schuckert D.IV came very late to the Great War that was too late to change Germany’s fortunes, but what machines did make it to front-line squadrons acquitted themselves well. The SS.DIV was the end result of a robust line of Siemens-Schuckert aircraft that saw service in the war and it came with a unique feature. The 200-hp Siemens Haiske SH.IIIa rotary engine had a crankshaft that rotated opposite of the engine and the propeller ’s rotation in an attempt to reduce the torque. The four-bladed propeller gave it a fast rate of climb and a high speed. The SS.DIV was even faster than Germany’s mainstay front-line fighter, the very successful Fokker D.VII. It was also very maneuverable, but reportedly had nasty stall behavior when pushed too far. The SS.DIV was armed with two 2 × 7.92mm machine guns. Spitfire Mk. XIV w/ Teardrop Canopy The Spitfire Mk. XIV, which entered service at the end of 1943, was originally built with a “high back” rear fuselage which restricted visibility to the rear of the plane. To rectify this problem, development of the Mk. XIV with a cut-down rear fuselage and tear-drop canopy began to be developed and built at the end of 1944. These improved Spitfire Mk. XIVs featured full-span wings and were equipped with 2x .50 cal. machine guns and 2x 20 mm Hispano cannons; they could also be fitted with bomb racks to carry 250 lb. and 500 lb. bombs. An additional 64-gallon fuel tank was also fitted in the rear fuselage, which increased the range of the Mk. XIV to over 610 miles on internal fuel. The same Griffon engine that powered the original Mk. XIVs also powered this new model. For reconnaissance work, a camera could be fitted behind the canopy; such planes were known as Fighter Reconnaissance Mk. XIVs and were fitted with clipped wingtips as standard. Spitfire Mk. XIVs with the cut-down rear fuselage and tear-drop canopy started entering service with the Royal Air Force’s 2nd Tactical Air Force in March 1945 and continued in operational service after the end of the war in Europe in May 1945. These improved Mk. XIVs also began to be sent to the South-East Asian Theater in June 1945 but arrived too late to see any combat against the Japanese. The Sturmovik Team appreciates your continued support as we complete our current development schedule and plan for a busy future! See you in the skies! The Sturmovik Team

Ravenclaw_007, I am very glad to see you here. I am honored to get the reply from you! The codes you provided here are much appreciated too. My current new 3D volume effect experimental for F-4 is actually directly based on your F-4 codes. Your name and the link to your mod is added to the credit page. When I studied your codes, I was figuring out how to convert it from 2D to 3D. It was done successfully. You can follow my progress in this link: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/97359-my-first-attempt-to-overhaul-aircraft-entirely-visual-effects/ The reason why I ask about wing vortex is that I made two version and is uncertain which one is more realistic. Finally managed to add light to the front landing gear while tweaked the engine node further. However, I am facing problem with it at the moment. I will make a new post about it. At once when the light problem is solved, then beta release for F-4B with all new features will be posted here. If the feedback are positive, I will implement it on the rest of F-4s in SF2 and will move on to A-1s and A-4s next. Cheers!

F-4T Phantom II Air Superiority Fighter 1.0 The F-4T was a late 1970s proposal by McDonnell for a stripped F-4E optimized for the air superiority role. All air-to-ground capability was to be eliminated and associated equipment removed. The armament consisting solely of the built-in M61A1 cannon, the four belly-mounted AIM-7 Sparrow missiles, and the four wing-mounted AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, or an alternative warload of six AIM-7. A digital computer was to have handled the weapons system. By the late 1970s, the Phantom was clearly old technology, and no customers ever expressed any interest in the F-4T. The project was abandoned before anything could be built. It was never clear but it was suspected that the proposal had been aimed at a particular potential export customer. BUT what if the F-4T had entered production, either in foreign service, or to supplement the F-15A, or even as a potential alternative to the F-16A ADF? And so I give you the F-4T Phantom II Air Superiority Fighter: - Base aircraft is the 'F-4E_79 TISEO & ARN-101' from Ravenclaw and co’s awesome F-4E USAF pack. - Deleted all air to ground weapons capability. - Each inner wing weapon station can carry either 2x AIM-9 or 1x AIM-7 or an ECM pod. - Empty weight, empty inertia and stall speed lowered to that of the stripped out Third Wire F-4F. This makes it probably the most maneuverable and best dogfighting F-4 Phantom models, other than the IAF Super Kurnass 2000 prototype. - Retained AN/ARN-101 antenna for long range navigation. - Retained TISEO for target identification. - Higher 'G' HPC center drop tank. - Cleaned up the ‘noises’ and shadows on the radar display to better represent the digital filtering of the Digital Scan Converter Group (DSCG) radar display later model F-4E were equipped with. - Added Pulse Doppler look-down function to the AN/APG-120 radar, as later model F-4E Phantom’s upgraded with the AN/AWG-10A digital fire control computer had this feature. - Changed the gunsight reticle to the green and red colored AN/ASG-26A which was also used on the F-4G Wild Weasel. - Ghost Grey Air Superiority camouflage scheme. - Changed the fiscal year component of the serial numbers to the late 70's: 77, 78 or 79. Included in this mod are: - F-4T Phantom II - 9 different USAF, ANG and AFRES skins. - 7 different USAF, ANG and AFRES squadrons. - High resolution Ghost Grey camo F-4E PSD templates - F-4T hanger & loading screens To Install simply un pack and drop into your mods folder. Notes: Animation / Function - Canopy - Hook - Air Refuel - Gun Vent ______________ automatic when gun is fired or as soon as the landing gear is deployed Credits: - ravenclaw_007 - original model by TW , BPAO , Crab_02 - cockpits from TW - TISEO made by Crusader - 3D model , textures and weapons by ravenclaw_007 - Pilot, Florian & JAT81500 Enjoy, Dan
