3 pointsAfter talking with various modders with great knowledge about the radar technologies in F-4s and researching from the manual books. Here is what I found from F-4B / J / N manual: And here is the picture: From what I have learned while modding avionics for SF2, there are limitation: - The radar symbol's color can not be changed yet. - The ability to modify the behavior of radar and avionics is very limited, it is tied to Avionics60.dll and Avionics70.dll - Since SF2 default radar symbols are a little bright green by nature, I need to set the balance between the accuracy of radar scope colors and the readability of the radar scope comfortably. The solution is to darken the CRT background color while adjusting the radar scope lines. - There is no red filter len option. To solve this, I created two versions of radar scope; Regular and RF (Red Filter). There is also another thing I also learned about the radar scope, there are various radar scopes with different colors and styles. (Correct me if I am wrong), so this is why I created a few different radar scopes, so you can choose which you prefer the most. It is based on what I have found from different resources. However, I do realize my work may not even be accurate. That is okay because I am doing my best as possible. Here are screenshots with new different radar scopes: Radar Scope #1 Radar Scope#1 with red filter len on: Radar Scope #2 Radar Scope #3 Radar Scope #2 and #3 with Red Filter len on: Eagle114th

2 pointsVersion 10.6 Mini Addon (Limited RPM Control on the Sop. 1B1 Variants), June 19, 2022 - A very small package that includes two alternative data inis for the Sop. 1B1 types included previously in the Ver. 10.5 FM package, and which allows for limited RPM control of the rotary engine. I will consider implementing such a change across many rotary-engine types included in my big FM pack (Ver. 10.0) in the future, time-permitting and if practical of course. A link to the mini addon pack is located below the pic. that follows. Cheers all, Von S EDIT: removed download package - now included in the ver. 11.0 FM/realism package.

2 pointsi dont suppose anyone knows which serial was the SQUADRON king in 1998? nearly all the shots from 1998 are of the special with the Capitol on it, and i dont think it was the same bird (this one was different from the one in 1995...)

2 pointsHello everyone! After a weekend break from SFCE and experimenting with avionics overhaul for SFCE, I am now working on E.E. Lightning series. It is a joy to work on it. Based on this video: I am working on implementing the wing vortex effects and when it is completed, the new screenshots will be posted. Eagle114th

2 pointsHello everyone! I believe the topic related to avionics will eventually become very detailed discussion or resources sharing (information/data/pictures/videos), so I am creating a new thread that is all about avionics overhaul in SF2. When I was taking a short break from SFCE to experiment with F-4B Phantom II new radar texture, I aimed to find the pictures. Turns out it is very difficult to find the pictures, but thankfully I am able to obtain various F-4s manual books. They gave me detailed information about the radar scope so I can picture how it would look like with the colors. That is where I go deeper into the rabbit holes. to my amazement, avionics is really such a very complicated topic, especially with the many upgrades being applied to different versions of aircraft (A-4s, A-7s, F-4s, Mirage series, etc...) from the post war onward to modern time. For now, during my free time between SFCE project, I want to continue experimenting with avionics overhaul, so I can implement it as an optional add-on to SFCE and SFWA projects. In the next post, I will share what I have learned about how the radar scope looks like in the early F-4B Phantom II and the latest progress on the new radar scope textures. Cheers

Donbass Beta 0.40 ***************************************************** Southern Ukraine and Crimean Peninsula Terrain THIS IS STILL A BETA VERSION!!!! ============================ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ This terrain is written for SF2E. It works well with SF2NA. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I. Short description: The south and the east of the Ukraine are battlegrounds in mid 2022. At the moment nobody knows how the war will end. This terrain covers the most parts of the Ukraine and some parts of the Russian Federation. But only the southern war theater and the crimean peninsula are included in this terrain so far. Airfields and some other target areas are placed on the map. Further improvements will come. I made the airfields in their shape as realistic as possible. Only 3 airfields are more or less freestyle. At the moment the terrain is made for scenarios around the Crimean peninsula. Offensive operations are more focused for the ukrainian side. In ukrainian strike missions you can fly against airfields, factories, depots, Sewastopol harbour and support facilities and a dense SAM network. For the russian side you can only fly against enemy airfields. At the moment possible mission types are: Sweep, CAP, Escort, Intercept, Recon, Strike and SEAD missions. The terrain is set as NavalMap=FALSE, but it is prepared for NavalMap=TRUE. If you use SF2NA as basic game you may change the setting, so that carrier vs carrier operations will be possible. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ II. INSTALLATION: To run this terrain you need SF2NorthAtlantic or SF2 Israel or SF2 Europe. Unzip all files into your saved game folder ...ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2XXXX Thats it. If you have SF2Europe installed you must do nothing more. If you miss SF2E and have SF2Israel you must open file Donbass.ini with Notepad editor and look for the lines: //CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat change the entry into: CatFile=..\IsraelME\IsraelME.cat //CatFile=..\GermanyCE\GermanyCE.cat save the file ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ III. IMPORTANTE!!! Antes de instalar la skin es importante tener el avión de denissoliveira. IMPORTANT!!! Before installing the skin it is important to have denissoliveira's plane. Also give the corresponding credits to denissoliveira for the plane and the skin on which he works. With nothing more to add, I hope you enjoy the skin. -

1 pointSaki Airbase at Crimean peninsula, the big base, where the Soviets trained their pilots for carrier operations. If i could find a nice ramp i could include the NITKA system, where the soviet carrier pilots were trained for the ski jump take off. It would be close to the right end of the upper runway. The carrier landing zone was at the big square close to the left end of the upper runway. So Saki AB looks in the editor:

1 pointSitRep: I'm working on the fck big airbase Saporoschje. Its giant. I have finished the southern part so far. The screenshot shows how big this base is in contrast to what i have already done. Funny fact to Saporoschje. There was a big automotive factory there. In the 1970th the soviets bought the licence to built FIAT cars, which were manufactured under the designation LADA. To avoid further licence fees the Saporoschje car development team got the task to redesign a FIAT into a own soviet car. The FIATs had had frontal engine and rear drive. In Saporoschje they made the decision to built in the engine in the rear too. But there was not enough space in the rear. Gearbox and engine did not fit. What do? An inginous designer had the idea. "Lets revers the gearbox!" And so they did and it fits perfectly. One flaw was, that the gears at the gear lever were now revers too. The first gear was not left front as in a normal car, but right rear! Okay. You can do it so, but its rubbish! For the soviet citizens and the eastern block car drivers it was good enough. For the rest of the world it was nonsens. The car, called "Sapo" had had a very interesting handling because it was very tail heavy, or with other words it was dangerous for the driver, especially when the streets were wet. I know from what I'm talking about. My parents had had one of this "Sapos". Spinning while driving through a curve was not seldom and for me as Kid very exciting. To solve the problem, we found out, it was helpfull to load sandbags in the trunk, which was located in the front of the car. So the tail heaviness was tempered and the handling of the car was extremly improved. And so it looked: Link to the picture source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAS-966#/media/Datei:ZAZ-966_front_view.jpg
