Entering service with No.74 Squadron in the Spring of 1946 the Meteor F.Mk.V was used to combat the 'tip and run' attacks by Luftwaffe Blohm & Voss P 170 fast bombers in the Summer of 1946 before being transferred to RAF South-East Asia Command as part of 'Tiger Force'. 4 pointsHeavens... Just because the file extension name is LOD doesn't mean it's exactly the same file type of Strike Fighters 2. File extension names are arbitrary, by no means one should assume they are related by their file extension name. On top of that, Falcon BMS and Strike Fighters run on totally different game engines. Many third party objects and aircraft of Strike Fighters have much higher detail and fidelity. I recall various objects in Falcon BMS still have a very low number of polys, mostly remainders of the original Falcon 4.0. Not worth converting, simply put.

2 pointsI'm fully aware of the Trent Meteor thank you! As an aviation mad teenager in the 1970's our local library had just two aircraft books that I took out repeatedly, 'The Gloster Meteor' by Edward Shacklady and 'Gloster Aircraft Since 1917' by Derek James (aka the Putnam book).

2 pointsAh HA!!!! We've caught Spinner out on this one!!! The Trent Meteor was a real plane (tm); albeit a one-off, but it did exist and is not a what if!!! LOL!!! The only what-if part is that it didn't go into production and service. As for this Centaurs version ... yah, I'll concede it's a WI For a DAT bird, this one looks pretty good

1 pointHello Pilots, Stormbirds summed up the new updates for Cliffs of Dover. A series of updates over the last several days have focused on the work that Team Fusion Simulations is busy doing turning IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover into a VR supported sim. That’s not all because they are also busy upgrading the visuals of the sim with higher resolution textures and TrueSky technology for new volumetric clouds. Here’s the latest! Try and find the bombers in these clouds Higher resolution textures, VR support, and volumetric clouds round out the headline features of a future visual update coming to IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Blitz and Desert Wings – Tobruk. These veteran sims are getting one of the most significant updates in the series’ history when it comes to core technologies and the inclusion of the new cloud technology, on its own, will likely be as transformative as it has been for other sims that have employed it. I couldn’t agree more with this statement from Team Fusion. Have a look at some of the screenshots below or check out even more 4K resolution images here. As of yet, no release date has been offered for this update and work appears to be ongoing on this project. Still, it seems like we’re getting closer to do the time when it will become available. It should be very interesting to check out when we get there. More to come!

1 pointThat seems to have done the trick! The “flight” folder appears to be the home of the problem. Digging through it, there are all kinds of “stuff” buried in there, so maybe I’ll try to figure out specifically what is causing the problem this weekend. Thanks for the help!

1 pointBack up your Mod Folder, delete Options.ini, run the game once.Make sure the game work. Set up the game. Quit the game. Restore your Mod folder and copy the new Options.ini there. Don't forget to set the correct dates in it. If that doesn't help, try disabling individual mods and find out which one is causing the crash. Transfer, for example, the Flight folder Turn on the game. Game not working? Get back the Flight folder and move Effects. Did the game work? So the problem is in this folder. Dig in it. PS I didn't play on Windows 11. The game has some problems on Windows 10, and then there's a whole Windows 11. My game crashes on Windows 10 until I turn off the second monitor. The cursor jumps out of one monitor to another and the game instantly folds into Windows without ability to be restored. Windows 7 doesn't have this problem.
