6 pointsAhh well, thing is I haven't been able to find a suitable model resource. This is what I got recently. The model is pretty good, but the textures are average. And believe me, There are a lot of projects going on at the same time, it’s just that making a player-operated (especially with a cockpit to make) aircrafts is harder than anything else. So they will take more time, maybe in due course I will update with some images showing the progress

3 pointsAs a reminder to back up your stuff: With no warning, the MB on my latest computer purchased in July with all the latest toys, failed yesterday. There were multiple fault indicator lights, no power to any of the components or ports, won't post (boot), and every troubleshooting technique was a no-go. Explaining the situation to tech support garnered the phrase "Yeah, it's dead, but since it's under warranty, send it back & we'll replace it." Luckily, I had just completed a backup on Thursday morning. Once More as a reminder: "Back Up Your Files."

2 pointsThe Su-9PF is a fictional variant that I'm imagining to be the standard interceptor of the Warsaw Pact Air Forces from the early 1960's onwards (although I elected not to give the Su-9PF to Albania).

Please note that because there is less information about this air defense system leaked to the outside world, this mod has certain [What If] content. So what are Type 625 and 625E? "Based on the revealed images, the Type 625E is a short range air defense system, or SHORAD. It is built as an 8×8 vehicle-mounted self-propelled anti-aircraft gun and surface-to-air missile system." —— From Military-Wiki This SHORAD is set to debut in at least 2021, with Type 625 being PLA’s own version, while Type 625E is the version intended for export. The difference between them is that the Type 625 has a longer gun and only 2 short-range anti-aircraft missiles on both sides. In this mod, due to the lack of 100% accurate model materials, I personally transformed the Type 625E based on the real prototype, named it Type 625A and set the service date as 2020. In summary, this mod contains: 1.Type 625A SHORAD (Olive Green/Desert Digital); 2.Type 625E SHORAD (Woodland/Desert/Desert Digital). Usage: Copy the Objects folder into your SF2 main folder. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Model/Texture: Tim Samedov & Me Data/Modding: Me. Special thanks to:GKABS (for the Stinger model, the HY-6B seems to have a similar appearance to the Stinger, so I adapted based on his great work) -

1 pointfirst: no im not volunteering but textures are one of the things we can fix up easiest in theis community if you get someone with the interest in it. half to 3/4 of the skillsets around here amount to skinning, with ini work, decalling and modelling filling in the rest but cockpit models seems to be the holiest of teh rare holies anymore so that would be a rather big hold up

1 pointHelicopter take offs in Afghanistan were often made with a short take off run. Especially under hot and high conditions.

1 pointI've often wondered if thrust vectoring could be used to simulate a chopper. I can't believe I'm the first one to think of this. I just don't know enough about SF2 flight models to say for sure. Might be a retirement project for next year. :) It does feel like some choppers I've downloaded seem to do better than others. People make it sound like the YAP team or the A Team might have some secrets used for their helos.

1 pointIn late 1985, several Angolan Mi-7 and Mi-24, supplying troops were shot down. The Angolan / Soviet and Cuban thought they were shot down by Cactus SAMs (variants of the Crotal system), it took some time for them to realize that the SAADF had countered them with low flying Impalas.

1 pointThe Red Mustang, the black Spitfire's arch nemesis. It's an unknown aircraft because once ezer weizman, chief of the IAF, found out that a mustang was painted that way he gave an order to paint it back to it's original camoflauge, and after that it was sold to a museum in sweden (which it remains to this day). The cone is supposed to be black, no idea why sf2 decided to make it red even though its painted

1 pointA Finn over Germany in special colors. The bird required some minor finetuning as well - wheels rolling radius, front tires size (too low profile originally), some weapons attachment positions (weapons sitting too far back on the pylons).

1 pointLast flight on this computer before it's retirement. Fitting that it was the Tornado, wearing (in my eyes) the best looking scheme ever fielded for that airframe.
