    1.What inclued: 1x aircraft carrier, R91 Charles de Gaulle the aircraft carrier is the flagship of the French Navy,I don't think I need to introduce too much about such a famous ship; 2.Note: According to available information, the most "obvious" defenses on the R 91 are several VLSs that launch Aster15, so I reserved their launch positions, but you need to get them(I mean the missile) from Whiteboysamurai's work such as "Horizon Forbin class", because he is not under Freeware license, so I will not include his work here; As for the remaining 20mm machine guns, I did not add them because their role in SF2 is very limited; 3.Usage: Unzip and copy Objects folder to where your game is installed; 4.Credits: (1)Sameh Aransa(offsite user): Original models and textures; (2)ME: port models to game add a lot of detail objects,do a lots of animation and texture works;

    Beta version,it means not 100% complete, but almost there =========================================================================================================== In case someone don’t know much about them, the J-20 is a 5-gen stealth twin-engine fighter from the mysterious country in the East. The first verification aircraft completed its first test flight in 2011 and entered service with the Chinese PLA Air Force in 2017. It has been used in the past It has undergone numerous major or minor upgrades and improvements in more than ten years, giving it excellent low detectability (stealth capability), omnidirectional situational awareness, powerful radar and breakthrough collaborative combat capabilities. =========================================================================================================== 1.What does this mod probably have? (1) First, it contains 3 advanced birds, J-20, J-20A and J-20S. ① J-20 is the basic single-seat model; ② J-20A is upgrade model with better aerodynamic design and better engine WS-15; ③ J-20S, was first spotted in 2022. Most people speculate that it will serve as a "loyal wingman" command unit; (2) Independent cockpit, but it should be noted that this cockpit is fabricated out of thin air and does not represent the real appearance of the J-20 cockpit. It is only based on vague news videos and simulation cockpit pictures at air shows. ; (3) The Chinese alarm audio generated by AI, of course, fabricated. There are related videos circulating on the Internet that prove the existence of cockpit voice, but we are unable to determine the exact content; =========================================================================================================== 2.Usage: Unzip and copy Sounds, Effects and Objects these 3 folder to where your game is installed; =========================================================================================================== 3.Note: (1) No weapons included. Due to potential maintenance needs, I made a separate PLAAF weapon pack, you need to download it separately, I'm sorry if it causes you any inconvenience; (2) Since the J-20s uses the same AESA radar as F-22, I set a higher scanning frequency and strength to avoid the disadvantages of traditional mechanical scanning radar and improve the resistance to old type of ECM; Of course, based on SF2 game, there is essentially no difference between them, except that the player's operation will be more comfortable; I have performed the same operation on all similar radars of the same era in my own game, and for myself Said they did a good job, but I don't know if that would be a bit IMBA for you guys. (3) IRL, there is no sign that the J-20 carries a cannon, so I did not equip the 20 and 20S models with cannons, Hit and Run! But J-20A, however, for the purpose of gameplay, I added a rumored 4x23 rotary cannon to give the J-20A a "What If" look. Moreover, the current J-20 in reality has no signs of using any air to ground weapons, so I designed it as a pure air superiority fighter and used the avionics module dll of the F14A to enable it to track and attack four targets at the same time, which removes the ability to scan the ground objects, even though EOTS is still available. About J-20A/S, since there is only speculation about how it works, I regard it as a multi-role fighter and hope that it will have complete ground attack capabilities, so the 70s avionics module is used to detect ground targets. =========================================================================================================== 4.Credits: 1.Ice is silent water (off-site user,I purchased all resources from him); 2.Me (base on orignal resources, add a lot of detail objects,do a lots of animation and texture works); 3.T'Ilacis (off-site user,decals); =========================================================================================================== 5.Special Thanks: 1.yakarov79, logan4, Sundowner(Teach me lots of basic modding skill) 2.Wrench (Also gave me hints in the formation lights question, but I especially want to thank him for the extra “modding help”) 3.EricJ,Menrva(Great ideas in my modding process) 4.JAT81500(For the JHMCS/pilot mod) 5.Crusader(For parts of HUD textures) Of course, there are far more than these people. In the knowledge base of the forum, many people's detailed discussions have given me a certain level of foundation for modding through years of ini editing. It can be said that most of the people here have helped me indirectly. If I forgot to mention you who also contributed, please be sure to let me know as soon as possible. In the end, the most in need of thanks is TK, which allows this high-degree-of-freedom game to appear. I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants.

    Basic modding skills are required to run this mod. (copy/paste, mod folder structure, etc.) Install: Copy and paste specific folders into the correct destination. A fake pilot is required to run this mod. New model of F-86D and L as used by USAF. Set includes 3 variants which in the game you will find under the prefix *USAF. F-86D-25 Sabre Dog -early variant without assisting drag chute (Block 10-40). most of them were later upgraded to D-45 standard - (block D-16-46) It is named here D-25- - despite differences in block builds 25 was the first to introduce external fuel tanks and was a baseline for further blocks. F-86D-45 Sabre Dog -drag chute equipped variant - (Block 45-60) Named D-45 as it was the first of the line with drag chute housing and some other minor modifications. F-86L-61 Lima Dog - L model - upgraded airframes with data link SAGE system (not in-game) and 6-3 wings. All are rebuilds of D models - (Block 11-60) All skins are in 3072x3072 format. Skins represent all squadrons (71) but three*, USAF Interceptor squadrons that ever used F-86D/L All squadrons have set skins to StartDefaultDate= into a period that particular model/paint scheme was used. * I did not include 3 squadrons as I was not able to find any single reference photo (probably no special markings were used as those squadrons lived for only a few months, but still reference would matter to me) Because this mod was evolving through time, I was not entirely sure how I was going to proceed. So some squadrons have correct serial numbers for a particular year, Others use decals from three decal folders representing airframes build- blk45-50, blk 55-60 and L blk11-61. Some aircraft have some special markings (C.O. stripes etc.) and some have nosearts. Since the serial numbers list is always around 600 airframes it will appear on proper aircraft, You just have to find them in game. I believe that the flight model could be improved for this aircraft. But this is not my cup of tea. There is a small ini change in the cockpit and avionics ini. I changed a little angle of the radar scope. It uses only the Mk4 Mighty Mouse rocket as a weapon. And yes it is possible to fight enemy bombers. Additionally, I added a special "weapon" for D-45 - that will be loaded automatically after 1956 - 'F-86D_sugarscoops' the same as on the L model introduced to remaining D airframes. This is just a visual upgrade, not really a weapon. Credits: The model is new but some parts are based on Zur's F-86H which I was able to work on previously with Wrench. Yours truly - model, skins, decals, research... Weapons: Mk4 Mighty Mouse by Ravenclaw. Have fun. Report bugs. * Expect the unexpected. Live long and prosper. Jarek Hereda THIS MODEL IS ONLY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AS FREEWARE AND IN NO OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE SHALL IT BE USED, EVEN IN PART OF ANYTHING THAT IS PAYWARE. UNDER THE COMBAT ACE MODDERS AGREEMENT * report BIG bugs...If I misspelled something or forgot to add a sound file...for dog's sake try to fix it. .

    ---------------------------------------------------------- STRIKE FIGHTER 2: AVIONICS COMMUNITY PACK (SF2: ACP) v0.2 --------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to SF2: ACP first release of alpha. Before I explain about the pack, I want to express big thank to the wonderful communities and modders of Combatace and Combat Flight Sim Tavern (Discord), including Thirdwire for the simulation. You all are the reasons why this pack exists. I want to use the passions to improve SF2 into higher levle with avionics. This requires a lot of research, reading flight manual, and tons of tweaking in avioincs and cockpit ini, along with countless of testing in-flight in SF2. The mods is not perfect, we do our best with the mods. We do it with the joys of our hobbies! This pack includes the following features: - New gunsight / optical sight - New texture for radar scope and another avionic equipment (See note #1) - Improved cockpit and radar through cockpit and avionics ini tweaks for semi-realism (See note #2) - Templates for gunsight and radar scope - Improves glass texture (If possible) - Accessibility - Optional, includes the AAM firing cue on gunsight for people who can not hear the sounds of missile locking on targets. NOTE #1: Due to the nature of lighting system inside cockpit in SF2 engine, I had to apply the darkness level on top of texture scope, in order, to prevent them from glowing. In templates, you will see "darkness" layer for this reason. NOTE #2: As mentioned in note #1, due to little resources (Information / data) on 40s to 70s radar, at least half or most of tweaks are based on an educated guess. For exampe, AN/APG-33 radar that is used with E-1 FCS in F-89B and C, there are some data on it, but no data on elevator nor azimuth angle limitation. F-89D, in other hand, with E-6 FCS and AN/APG-40 radar, there are several data, which is applied in .ini files tweaks. --------------------------------------------------------- TEMPLATES There are templates for gunsight, radar, RWR, and another type of avionics assets. It is there so anyone can use it to create their own avionics for any aircraft. --------------------------------------------------------- Avionics overhaul for Historical vs fictional aircraft I am dong overhaul for both historical and 'what if' fictional aircraft. For example, in this alpha version, there are avionics overhaul for F-8A to F-8K, along with France F_8s. It also includes 'what if' JASDF F-8EJ Crusader. --------------------------------------------------------- Installation: Inside each aircraft folder, there is folder "_AIRCRAFT COCKPIT FILES". Inside that folder, there are two folders "DEFAULT" and "ACCESSIBLITY". You can only use one of them. By default you should install the files from DEFAULT folder. However, if you are Deaf or Hard of Hearing that can not hear the growling sounds of IR missile, then ACCESSIBLITY is for you. NOTE: Make sure you make the backup copies of aircraft folders, in case something goes wrong during the installation progress. Inside DEFAULT or ACCESSIBLITY, for any aircraft you have in SF2, copy the aircraft folder and overwrite an existing folders and files. --------------------------------------------------------- Changelog v0.01 - First release of SF2: ACP v0.02 - Includes avionics overhaul for A-1s, A-4s, F-8s, F-89s, and MiG-15s --------------------------------------------------------- Current / Future plans I am currently working on next series of cold war aircraft avionics overhaul. If you have any feedback or request for aircraft avionic overhaul, please post in CombatAce forum discussion: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/99178-sf2-avionics-community-pack-wip-alpha-release-v01/ --------------------------------------------------------- CREDIT: - dtmdragon: F-8 packs for radar and other assets from cockpits - Stary: new cockpits for SF2 aircraft, including F-89s - Wrench: A-1s, A-4s, and another aircraft and cockpit tweaks - Wing over Korea: Gunsight textures. - Combatace and Combat flight sim tavern: feedback and supports - Thirdwire (TK): Strike fighter 2 simulation Thank you for enjoying the mods! Notes: You can see multiple folders ending with name of GX/XL in Weapons folder. They correspond to inert training models, similar to CATM in the US Air Force.To prevent the game system from spawning them in combat missions, I set them to "invisible". The set includes the Republic of China Air Force, South Korea Air Force, and the Philippine Air Force. Do not overwrite any old files that you might downloaded here in CA. Make a backup of old files or rename new ones. But definitely do not mix any files of the old F-86 with this new one. In the game, you will find it under the prefix * F-86D Sabre Dog I fixed data files a little - collision points and hitboxes..as the previous ones were quite weird. However, I believe that the flight model could be improved for this aircraft. But this is not my cup of tea or coffee. All skins are in 4096x4096 format. You can easily resize as needed. Decals represent historically correct serial numbers assigned to aircraft during their service in a particular year. Or I believe it does. Credits. Beta Version. In case someone don’t know much about them, J-35 is 5-Gen stealth multirole fighter from the mysterious country in the East too. It is designed for air superiority and strike missions and powered by two medium-thrust turbofan engines the WS-19,and in theory, it has similar situational awareness and collaborative combat capabilities as the J-20.In addition to being an advanced naval tactical fighter, it will also gradually replace the old third and fourth generation fighters in the PLAAF inventory such as the J-10 in the future. On October 29, 2021,carrier-based variant made its maiden flight,air force variant on September 26, 2023. PLAAF Officially revealed the J-35A on November 5, 2024. =========================================================================================================== What does this mod probably have? Tu-16 Badger-A (free fall bombs only) Tu-16K-10-26 Badger C (cruise missiles only; 1 centerline, 2 wing mounted) Tu-16G Badger K (2 cruise missiles, wing mounted only) A cockpit is supplied for each, with a working bombsight for the standard bomber. (See notes about the issues flying bombers in SF2). All weapons, execpting the KS-1 & KSR-2 missiles are stock 3W items (FAB, RBK, K10S). All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All new Hangar and Loading screens have also been included, for you enjoyment. The aircraft are supplied with a number skins for the varying Air Force users. Some (re)use their original 1stGen decals, with a slight repaint to stop any 'fuzziness'. Many decals used (for Middle East and Soviet birds) are stock items. You'll get: Tu-16A: Soviet Silver Ukraine Silver (<1991) Egypt AF Silver (<1966) Iraq Silver (<1973) Indonesia Silver (<1961) PLAAF China Sliver (<1959) Iraq Green Stripe Camo (<1978)* Iraq Sand/Green Camo (<1980)* Tu-16C: Soviet Naval Aviation Silver (blue borts) Tu-16G: Soviet Naval Aviation Silver (blue borts) As indicated above, you can see the the SF2 "date switch" is active. The star (*) tagged above indicates these years are "best guess". When possible the original readme for all skins are within each skin folder, and notes are sometimes made on the textureset.ini. The PLAAF bird only gets 24 bort number decals, which are (hopefully!) historically correct and nearly the right color blue <grin>! Pilot figures are also included. For exact in-game usage for the C & G models, I'd suggest giving their data inis a looksee, as they have several Secondary Roles to fulfill. When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection Drop down you'll see: Tu-16 Badger-A (Pasko) Tu-16K-10-26 Badger C (Pasko) Tu-16G Badger K (Pasko) The (Pasko) differentializes these from the stock 3W Badgers (and any mods thereof). So you can't mistook them for anything other than what they is. As always fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. All original readmes, when discoverable, are included. The 'Change Log' is of course, in the Notes section below. Good Hunting & Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein

    Viper Dawn : First USAF F-16A Block 10s (for TW F-16A) This mod utilizes the stock TW F-16A Netz and previous work to represent the first three operational USAF F-16A wings (not the training wings). Featuring historical serial numbers for each unit, and markings to reflect the eras this is the most accurate skin representation of the early block (1/5/10) F-16s to date. I use the same TW model for all three as the biggest visible difference in the three was the black radome on the Block 1s. I represented this via decal for the appropriate serial numbers and they were all delivered to the 388th TFW in in 1979. Otherwise it would be impossible to distiguish between teh three models in game. Included - 2 363rd TFW skins for the 17th TFS "Owls" and 19th TFS "Gamecocks". Note the 17th would go on to rename as the Hooters after they transitioned to the C/D model F-16 - 4 388th TFW skins, represented these units in operation from the first USAF Vipers in 1979 until their transition to Block 15s in 1983 - 12 474th TFW skins. The 474th operated the Block 10 from late 1980 until the wing was disbanded in late 1989. These dozen skins reflect some of teh marking changes for the three squadrons over nearly a decade of service - weapons in use by the early Vipers in the early 1980s, with some ini tweaks by myself Required valid copy of Strike Fighters 2: Israel Instructions unzip, unload contents of "2 Mod folder" into mod folder of your choice. allow overwrites if needed NOTE: there are two previous F-16A Block 10 mods based on the TW model. this mod is based on them, but with improvement. because they leverage the TW model and are image and ini only, i have kept teh basic inis in this release for your convienence. But it was made much easier to create standing on their shoulders ****************NOTE*************** This mod heavily leverages decals that are meant for a Team Viper Block 10 set, and feature decals and number list entries for the B models as well. Due to lack of a TW two seat F-16, these are restricted by ini however, when a Team Viper Block 10 becomes available, the decal set here will be ready to go speeding up release of this skin set for the new models. ALBATROS D III REDUX PART 1 An overhaul of the Albatros D III, this upload will be in 4 parts, this the first of 4, are 2 generic Albatri, in factory finish, with spurious markings, 1 Yellow and black checked example from Jasta 36, and Ottoman machine in generic markings, as most Turkish aircraft seemed to be. The following 3 uploads shall be machines from Jastas 2, 11, and 12 respectivly. each jasta will be the complete D III, with the .INI file named thus " ALBATROS D III ( JASTA***) this allows you the end users to have Jasta specific Albatros D III's seperate from the generic D III files, sorry I am possibly not explaining this correctly, but it will become self evident should you download ALL 4 files. On to the description of what I have done here, I have redrawn the panel lines, fixtures and fitting, and generally tidied up the frankly quite awful mess that are the Thirdwire skins, obviously, I have not done any remodelling as such, other than to move panels around, and put things in that are missing from the TW stock skins. I have reworked ALL of the Camouflage, and wood textures, and made the aircraft clean, rather than the over done dirty textures on the originals. As with all my previous uploads of the DI/DII/W4 series, these are just straight up unpack and drop into your save directory, with again, the warning that the WILL overwrite any existing D III files you may already have installed, so if you wish to preserve your originals, make sure you back 'em up !!! or rename !!! Everything is included as usual, Aircraft, Skins, Decals, Guns, and Pilots, and of course the sounds. Unpack, plug, and fly !! As always..............ENJOY !!!

    YOU NEED RAZBAM F-102A FOR USING THIS PACK ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had this reworked F-102A in my HD for a long time. I have combined Paulopanz 's skinpack in RAZBAM with my own improvements. I made a complete rework of the performance specs, engine data, cockpit and avionic mods, new pilots, and ravenclaw weapons with completely new loadouts. There is also - a Vietnam specific version that can fire Air to Ground AIM-4s, converted by me, and SUU-11 pods. - a HAF specific version which is not much more than deleted AIM-26 capability in case X aircraft and a new pilot. Credits must really go to - RAZBAM - Paulopanz - Ravenclaw Known issues - the SUU-11 pods are not placed correctly. I didn't have time to fix it. I hope someone will fix them. EDIT: 1) About the weapons: - For some reason I have Ravenclaw's AIM-4E but not the AIM-4F and AIM-4G. If someone has them, please notify me to include them in the pack. - This is the first actual use of Ravenclaw's AIM-26s. I was really surprised to realize that the AIM-26s were actually used only in the updated F-102s. It is weird that the AIM-26s were not used in the F-101Bs and the F-106s - I have included the AIM-4F also. I cannot remember exactly, but the AIM-4F was actually carried by the F-102A, I am not sure if it was certified for actual combat use or only for testing (F-102s were used as development planes for the F-106). My final conclusion is that the AIM-4Fs were not issued into operational service with the F-102As simply because they were not enough AIM-4E/F/Gs made, barely enough for the F-106A alone. 2) I have not included a READ ME file, which I think I will do in the future. 3) a possible update would fix the SUU-11 issue plus improved avionics, if someone has some suggestions for further improvements please PM me.

    ALL work by ME ( Sundowner ) is now no longer covered by the CombatAce Freeware Licensing agreement. What this means is that you can only use my work for your own use, you CANNOT re-upload it or any part of it. So please no copying of my skins for any use other than your own. This model is a is yet another rebuild of the old TMF max files which I was working on from the very outset. . It is is no way designed to compete or to relpace the versions released by daddyairplanes, so dont try to use those skins on this model....the maps are different. The RF4-C nose has had a complete rebuild since the DA version as the nose profile is completly wrong along with more accurate air conditioner intakes and camera windows etc, etc The fuselage also got rebuilt to cure many shape issues and to give a more accurate undersides. Too many small fixes to list DO NOT INSTALL OVER ANY RF-4C-65 MODELS YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE..................re name this one! Please read the readme....it's for your benefit not mine.

    OEFFAG Ba 53 & Ba 53 (feld Änderung) REDUX A rework of Jan Tumas excellent Oeffag Ba 53, I have kept this one simple as there were only about 50 or so Ba 53's built, a few of the early ones, about 10 or so were built using the Albatros D II planform, but this was swiftly changed to the D III instead. The Aircraft was actually better than the Albatros DIII, having a more powerful Austro Daimler power plant, also the Oeffag techies, figured out that the D III wing was a bit of a nightmare, and tended to drop off if you did any of that " Fighter Pilot Shit" So they strengthened the lower win by adding in another spar. Of course there is always a downside, although in this case a minor one, which was the armament, first off, it was a Swartzlose M7, the standard Infantry MG of the Autro Hungarian Army, it was orerated by a blowback system, which in itself was not the problem, the problem lay with the oiler, which had to oil each round as it was chambered, not an ideal set up, especially as the oil used to blow back into the pilots face, and bugger up his aiming somewhat. As well as this, the guns were buried deep in the cowling, so stoppages were virtually impossible to clear, Which I assume could spoil a pilots whole day at times There were also issues with the interrupter system, which was not very good in conjunction with the Swartzlose, so a special Tacho had to be fitted to Oeffags, to warn the pilot when the interrupter was not going to play nice, and let the gun shoot nice holes in the Airscrew.........Yes.....Well !! There are 2 files in this upload, the main Ba 53 file, with all the gubbins, decals and all that good stuff, the second file is for the (feld Änderung) aircraft, basically the same plane but they took the cowl off !! Atogether there are 8 skins, 3 which are my usual Factory Finish ones, so very generic, the other 4 are of named pilots, see the thumbnails for an ideaof what is in there for you. Everything is in a ready to go state as usual, the second file is just the Field modded Ba 53, on its own, so that will need to be dropped into you Save game file under "Objects - Aircraft" and you should be good to go. I have used my own decals and skins to rework these Oeffags, the 153 series will follow shortly !! A shout out to Jan Tuma for his original work, on this rather nice Albatros version, also to Von S for the updated FM's ( also an apology to the redoubtable Von S for not crediting him in my other Albatri uploads, my most profound apologies !!! ) and Geezer for the Pilot models. ALBATROS D III (OAW) WITH JASTA 39 REDUX This upload comprises of 3 Rar files, the first is the standard D III OAW, 2 of which are in generic markings, and 2 which are Ottoman machines, one in earlier markings of the black square, the second with the late war red squares. The other 2 Rar files are all for Jasta 39 Albatri, 2 generic, and the rest in the markings shown in the thumbnail pictures heading this download. Again as with the previous D III's I uploaded previously, the Jasta 39 aircraft are in their own complete fils, so you can use them as a seperate Jasta so it is named Albatros DIII (OAW) (JASTA 39)......you know the drill by now I am sure !!! The red and white candy stripe one, was a real pain in the bum to do, mainly because of the bloody awful way the models were made, so getting the stripes to marry up correctly had me cursing and swearing quite considerably. So it is not 100% perfect, but it is as good as can be expected, and certainly better than the original skin that was done in this scheme, I forget who originally uploaded it, but for sure it is a vast improvement. As ever, everything is included in the package, Decals, Guns........blah blah blah..........You will need to download all the files as the decals etc for the Jasta 39 Albatri are in the first RAR file.............As for the rest, I am not going to repeat myself, as I am sure most of the folks downloading this, are used to my stuff, so I wont bore you with the blurb !!! ALBATROS W 4 ( EARLY ) ALBATROS W 4 ( LATE ) REDUX I have redone both the Early, and Late versions of the Albatros W4 seaplane fighters, completely reworked skins, in both German Navy and Austrian navy versions. the early models are in dark ply for the Austrian, and a light ply for the German machines. These also have alt versions of the schemes if you dont like the options I have used as the default, you will see this when you install the relevant W4 ( early ) Schemes, so if you are not keen on MY new skins, just swap them with the alts. The W4 ( Late ) has the Austrian aircraft in an all over Blue Grey linen, and the German one is in the original Blue Lozenge over Blue, I have redone the lozenge somewhat, to allow for the panels I have reworked, on the fuselage, and floats, so it is very similar to Stephen 1918's original scheme, just tweaked. Anyway, as always, both these Albatri are in plug and play format, unpack, and install, with the usual proviso, that any existing W4 ( Early ) and ( Late ) aircraft you may have WILL be overwritten, so please ensure you do the sensible thing, and back up or rename. Everything is included for both aircraft, Decals, Guns, Pilots and sounds. A shout out to Stephen 1918, for his beautiful work on the original models, also to Julio Junqueira for the pilot models. ALBATROS D I I ( EARLY ) REDUX Following on from my previous upload of the Albatros D I, it is only right and proper to continue on with the D II ( Early ) As with my previous uploads, this is a total workover of the original D II ( Early ) From Stephen 1918. So, a brief callout of what is included skins wise. First a generic 3 tone Camo scheme over light ply, I have done this as that way I could amalgamate several generic but mainly correct personal markings, without assigning them to any particular Jasta, so a pot luck/generic DII. The next one is an early Turkish Ottoman Albatros, again very generic, and not intended to be any particular Turkish unit. Then the really tasty one, or at least I think it is, 16 Aircraft from Jasta 2, including 7 correctly numbered and marked Albatri, as follows :- 386 Oswald Bolcke 437 Erwin Böhme 390 Otto Höhne 391 Karl Büttner 426 Lt. Günter 372 Stefan Kirmaier 491 Manfred Richtofen The remaining 11 aircraft are figments of my imagination, but I think they fit in with the general theme of Jasta 2 Bolcke. Finally I have included Von Richthofens first red Albatros, which he used later on in 1916 most likely after the unfortunate death of Oswald Bolcke.Apparently it was his orginal Albatros ( D491 ) with all the fuselage, markings and tail feathers given a red wash, very cool indeed. As for everything else, as with all my uploads the whole package is there, so it is an un zip, drop and go sort of deal. If you haven't had any of my aircraft before, then everything is included in this package, Aircraft, Skins, decals, Guns, Sounds, and Pilots. Merely unpack the zip/Rar file, and drop it into the save folder where all your other goodies are stored. I shall again Warn that this package WILL overwrite any other ALB DII ( Early ) you already have installed if that is the case, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE back it up or rename it so no untoward harm comes, so there you go, I warned you, so if you futz it up, it's your fault 'cos ya didn't read the boring blather on here As Always..............ENJOY!!!!!................

    ALBATROS D I REDUX A workover of my previously uploaded Albatros DI models, I have completely reworked the skins and markings, there are 5 versions in this upload, A factory "Standard" skin in ply and Linen, a version with a lighter stained ply and more yellowis Linen for the wings and empenage. The next one is an all over 2 colour camouflage over blue scheme, then an rework of the previously released DI of Prince Friedrich Karl von Preußen, which is an all over sea green colour, there IS a discussion as to whether this aircraft had a camouflage scheme on the upper surfaces, however it is only speculation, as there are no actual photos I can find of this machine. The final DI is an all blue with camouflage upper surfaces, of Hans Bethge of Jasta 1. Everything as always is packed up and ready to go, just unzip, and drop into your directory where you have all your other flying circusses !!! Just be aware it will over write any existing DI's you may have already installed, so dont forget to backup or rename the original files, to avoid any unfortunate mistakes !!!! Included are all the sound files, decals, guns, pilots and of course the actual Albatros. A shout out to Steven 1918 of course, without whom we wouldnt have the DI/DII Albatros in the first place, also to Geezer for the Pilot figure, and anyone else I may have inadvertently forgotten. Aircraft Carrier "Liaoning" ex Varjag ex Kremlin Class ***************************************************** This mod is made for SF2. ---------------------------------------------------------- I. History Since the 50th the Soviet Navy tried to get aircraft carriers. But the political leadership denied all attempts to build such vessels. So the Admirality tried to get carriers through the back door. They declared such ships would be neccessary to hunt down american submarines. So the big ASW ships Moskva and Leningrad were built. But the design was terrible. Thatswhy the project 1143 was developed, better known as Kiev class. The Kiev class was to small to operate conventional fix wing jets. So the ships were equipped with VTOL planes, the Yak-38. But this plane was no match for american or west european carrierbased planes. Thatswhy the flightdeck of project 1143.4 was made longer. The ship was named Baku. It was built for the supersonic Yak-41. A plan-B was to use the MiG-29K in the air group of the Baku. The next step was to make the project 1143 ships bigger and longer. 1143.5 was launched in 1982. First named as Riga, then Breshnev, then Tblissi and in 1990 renamed into Kuznetsov. When the USSR broke into parts the Kuznetsov was transfered to the russian North Fleet. The sister ship 1143.6, Riga was renamed in 1990 into Varjag (Viking). It was not operational when it was was given to the Ukraine. The Ukraine had not had enough money to finish the ship. Thatswhy it was sold to China. China finished the ship, modified it and named it Liaoning. A second carrier of the same typ the Chinese built under the name Shandong. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- II. CREDITS: This is a quick mod of the ship "Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov", made by rokieborhgunder, which you can find here: https://combatace.com/files/file/17091-admiral-flota-sovetskogo-soyuza-kuznetsov/ ---------------------------------------------------------- III. INSTALLATION: -Unzip the folders into your SF2 mod folder ------------------------------------------------------------- IV. Known Problems: The mod is not perfect. The gun turrets are not of the correct type. The gun barrels looking always in the wrong direction. The HQ-10 missiles does not start from the silos, but from mid of the ship. ---------------------------------------------------------- V. For remarks, comments, bugs, etc please use the forum or send me a PM. ------------------------------------------------------------- VI. The Liaoning and all other files are FREEWARE. COMMERCIAL USE IS NOT ALLOWED! ------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ Hope you enjoy it. "Black Sea Crisis" for Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic September 1994. Conspiring with senior elements of the military, a coalition of hard line Russian nationalists and former communists in the State Duma deposes President Yeltsin, who makes a dramatic escape from Russia in the middle of the night aboard a hastily commandeered Aeroflot airliner. Declaring the December 1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union to be an illegal act of high treason, the new powers in the Kremlin announce their intention to bring "renegade" former Soviet republics back into Moscow's orbit. Within days Russian tank divisions are massing on the Ukraine's eastern border. Alarmed at the rapidly mounting threat to their newly independent country, Ukraine's leaders turn to NATO and the United States for assistance. The United States responds by sailing the Eisenhower carrier group through the Turkish Straits and into the Black Sea, while simultaneously deploying several USAF bomber squadrons to Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. As tensions continue to rise, a Marine Amphibious Group is also dispatched to Sevastopol with its complement of battle-ready U.S. Marines. Despite the show-of-force by Washington, the revanchist hardliners in Moscow press on with the build up of military forces on the Ukrainian border, all the while demanding that U.S. military units withdraw immediately from the Black Sea area. Ignoring pleas for talks to resolve the crisis, Russian tanks cross the border in the early morning hours of September 29 as part of a full scale invasion of the Ukraine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Minimum Requirements ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To install and play this mod, you must have the following games as part of a merged install: SF2 VERSION: Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic Strike Fighters 2 Europe PATCH LEVEL: Mar2012 or higher ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Installation ~~~~~~~~~~~~ This mod requires "Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic" (SF2NA) as well as "Strike Fighters 2: Europe" (SF2E) in a merged install. A custom Mod Folder for your "Black Sea Crisis" mod install will have been created in one of these locations: Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\[username]\My Documents\ThirdWire\[YourModFolder] Windows Vista: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[YourModFolder] Windows 7: \Users\[username]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\[YourModFolder] ...where [YourModFolder] matches the name of the copied .EXE file that you created. You will install the "Black Sea Crisis" mod files to your Mod Folder. - Open your Mod Folder and delete the \Objects sub-directory (including everything in it). Now you're ready to install the "Black Sea Crisis" mod proper. ------------------------------------------------- * STEP 2: INSTALL MAIN COMPONENTS TO MOD FOLDER * ------------------------------------------------- This is the easiest step. - Unpack the four "Black Sea Crisis" archive packages you downloaded to a temporary location on your hard drive. - Move the contents of the \To_Mod_Folder directory from all four unzipped packages to your Mod Folder (created in Step 1 above). (Note: do not simply drag and drop the folder named "To_Mod_Folder" or you will end up with a non-working install. You should drag what's INSIDE the "To_Mod_Folder" directory.) If you've moved everything correctly, you should have a new \Objects sub-directory in your Mod Folder, along with a few new other sub-directories. ---------------------------- * STEP 3: EDIT OPTIONS.INI * ---------------------------- This last step involves a bit of text editing, so please pay attention. Open the Options.INI in your Mod Folder. Locate the "Single Mission" section. At minimum you should change the EndYear= statement to 2000 or higher. I recommend setting the StartYear= and EndYear= as follows: StartYear=1992 EndYear=2020 Finally, a little further down you should find the "Campaign" section. Replace it with the following: [Campaign] CampaignName=1994-0929 Black Sea Crisis (Full) PlayerService=USN PlayerUnit=VF-142 Ghostriders AircraftType=F-14B_87 Difficulty=NORMAL Length=NORMAL AircraftSupply=NORMAL WeaponSupply=LIMITED LoadCampaign=FALSE CampaignSavename=DefaultCampaignSave Save your changes and close the Options.INI file. * * * * * THAT'S IT. The "Black Sea Crisis" mod should now be installed on your PC and ready to play. If you start the mod and it crashes or you don't see any new aircraft or campaigns, then you didn't install the mod properly (and that's exactly what I'm going to tell you if you post to the CombatAce forums and ask me if I have "any ideas?" as to what the problem is). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Note on the Included Campaigns ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This mod includes five different versions of the same underlying campaign: - 1994-0929 Black Sea Crisis The basic Blue campaign. Blue-side forces include the Ukrainian Air Force, the Eisenhower carrier battle group and its air wing, the Nassau Amphibious Group with its complement of AV-8Bs, and USAF bombers at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey (which are not player-flyable). - 1994-0929 Black Sea Crisis (Full) A variant of the basic Blue campaign. Blue-side forces include the Ukrainian Air Force, the Eisenhower Carrier Battle Group and its air wing, the Nassau Amphibious Group with its complement of AV-8Bs, USAF fighters and attack aircraft deployed to Ukrainian air bases, and USAF bombers at Incirlik Air Base in Turkey (these last not being player-flyable). - 1994-0929 Black Sea Crisis (Red) A Red variant of the "Full" 1994 campaign discussed just above. In this variant the player flies for the Russian Air Force. - 1996-0929 Black Sea Crisis Another Blue-side variant of the "Full" campaign above, but set in 1996. The Eisenhower's carrier air wing now includes F/A-18Cs in lieu of the A-6Es and A-7Es of the 1994 campaign. The Nassau's AV-8Bs are an upgraded version. - 1996-0929 Black Sea Crisis (Red) A Red variant of the 1996 campaign described above. Russian forces are essentially the same, but some fighters now use AA-12s in lieu of AA-10s. ** Conventional SF2 Campaign Variants ** The game engine for SF2NA brought many welcome new features to the world of Strike Fighters 2. As useful as those new features are, the SF2NA campaign engine (i.e., the engine that allows for "naval campaigns" with battle groups and cruise missile strikes) was clearly designed specifically for the SF2NA Iceland/North Atlantic campaign, as it attempts to turn every campaign into North Atlantic, Part II. Once battle groups are "discovered" by the opposing side, the campaign engine will throw everything at that battle group, mission after mission, until all the ships are sunk or the attacking side runs out of aircraft capable of performing strike missions. This can become a bit wearisome, and it is extremely difficult to prevent those battle groups from being "discovered" and attacked. In the standard SF2NA-style campaigns listed above, this usually happens around the fifth mission of the campaign. To give players an alternative to the standard "North Atlantic" duel-to-death naval campaign, I have included standard SF2-style campaigns that put the campaigns' focus squarely on the battle for the Ukraine. The carrier battle groups will no longer be attacked. (One can imagine a scenario in which the Kremlin -- based on a combination of military and political reasons -- elects not to directly attack American carrier groups while still engaging U.S. aircraft flying in defense of Ukraine.) The upside to these "conventional" campaigns is that the campaign engine no longer gets stuck in the same cycle of hurling strike aircraft at the battle groups over and over. The downside is that carrier battle groups no longer move together. The carrier moves, but the escort ships are static terrain elements. Also, the big bombers on both sides tend to make less frequent appearances from their off-map air bases. How to Use the Conventional Campaigns: If you wish to try the conventional campaigns, you will have to install them from \Optional\CampaignsAlt (found in the directory where you unpacked the "Black Sea Crisis" downloads). 1. Drag the \Campaigns folder to the Mods folder where you installed the "Black Sea Crisis" mod, allowing Windows to overwrite files as prompted. 2. Drag the \Terrains folder to the "Black Sea Crisis" Mods folder as well, again allowing Windows to overwrite files as prompted. When you re-start the game, the listed campaigns will play as conventional, SF2-style campaigns. Please note that in the above install process you are effectively converting the Black Sea terrain into a conventional SF2 terrain. While the terrain is coverted into a conventional, non-naval terrain, naval aircraft in Single Missions will fly from land bases, not carriers. To convert the terrain back into an SF2NA-style "naval" terrain, copy these files from \Terrains\BlackSea2 (in the directory where you unpacked the "Black Sea Crisis" download files) to the \Terrains\BlackSea2 directory in your Mods folder: BlackSea2.INI BlackSea2_TARGETS.INI BlackSea2_WATER.bmp That's right -- those are the only files that need to be restored. I would recommend restoring the original SF2NA-style campaigns at the same time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Note on Anti-Ship Missiles ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ For this mod most third-party (i.e., non-stock) anti-ship missiles have been converted to use the ASM/cruise missile functionality introduced w/ SF2NA. At the same time, the older versions of these missiles have been preserved, as the new ASM cruise missiles can be used by AI only against ships. So, for many anti-ship missiles you will now find two versions: 1) "Standard" guided version These versions are the "old" style missiles setwith WeaponDataType=1. They can be used by AI against land and sea targets. These missiles retain their familiar names (e.g., AGM-84D Harpoon, Kh-59M Ovod, etc.). 2) ASM/cruise missile version These versions utilitize the new cruise missile functionality set by WeaponDataType=7. They can be used by AI only against ships. These versions can be distinguished by their names: - U.S./NATO missiles have the ASM tag (e.g., AGM-84D Harpoon ASM). - Soviet/WP missiles follow the naming convention used by ThirdWire's Soviet cruise missiles (e.g., Kh-59M AS-13 Kingbolt). At the same time aircraft that typically carry these missiles have been updated to accommodate the ASM versions. Loadouts for these aircraft have been updated to use ASM versions by default for Anti-Ship, Naval_Attack, and Cruise_Missile loadouts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Note on Laser-Guided Bombs (LGBs) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AI pilots in Strike Fighters have long had problems employing LGBs. AI pilots in the player's flight can drop LGBs, but will treat them as dumb bombs. AI pilots in flights not controlled by the player (i.e., AI-only flights) cannot use LGBs at all, and will typically get stuck circling the target. To address this problem I have created EOGB versions of all LGBs for AI pilots to use (AI pilots have no problems with EOGBs for some reason). These AI versions are identical in all respects to the LGB versions save for the Guidance Type, which is set to "Electro-Optical Guided" instead of "Laser-Guided." By default aircraft that use LGBs for certain loadouts (usually Stike, Attack, SEAD, or Anti-Ship) are loaded with these AI (EOGB) versions instead of the LGB versions. You should make it a habit to check the Loadout screen and switch the bomb version on your own aircraft to the LGB version. You can distinguish between the AI (EOGB) and LGB (Player) versions by the weapon name -- for example: LGB version: GBU-12D/B Paveway II LGB AI version: GBU-12D/B Paveway II (AI) While this solution introduces an extra step for the player in the preparation to start a mission, it allows AI pilots and AI-only flights to use these weapons. ~~~~~~~ Updates ~~~~~~~ This mod was released in October 2014. SF2 RA-5C Vigilante Pack v.2 9/27/2019 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) This is a revamp of Julhiem's RA-5C "Vigilante" carrier based recon aircraft. It has has several updates/upgrades/changes to make it more SF2 compliant. This is the complete aircraft, with everything included. If you have any earlier version(s) it is suggested you delete BOTH the aircaft and decals subfolders, as this version replaces them it toto. Or at least, remove or store them elsewhere. The aircraft comes with 6 skins, including the original released single skin. These skins are: RVAH-1 'Smokin' Tigers (USS Independence 1965, CVW-7, SEA, first combat cruise) RVAH-5 'Savage Sons' (USS Ranger CVW? 19??) ** RVAH-6 'Fleurs' (USS Kittyhawk 1971, CVW-11 SEA) RVAH-7 'Peacemakers' (USS Ranger, 1978/79, WesPac, Squadron's Final Cruise) RVAH-9 'Hoot Owls' (USS Saratoga 1967, CVW-3 Med cruise) RVAH-11 'Checkertails' (USS constellation, CVW-9 SEA 1971/72) **= original release skin Almost all markings are decals, excepting some painted-on squadron insignia. Serial/BuNums are 100% historically accurate (by unit) Decal randomization is TRUE. Skins remain in bmp format, as they're not that large. The SF2 "date switch" is active. The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero). As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. See "Notes" for list of changes. If there's anything missing or "off", please let me know and I'll try to find it. This mod got lost in the shuffle with several other large projects. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein

    SF2NA A-6E (TRAM) Intruder, VA-34,VA-55,VA-85 Early Lo-Viz Skin/Decals Pack 2/15/2018 = For SF2 (Any & All, Full-5 Merged Prefered) = *Can be used in any install that has access to the A-6E_79 (aka: TRAM)* 3 new skins for the 3W A-6E_79 Intruder that depict the 3 squadrons that participated in the "Freedom of Navigation" exercises in the Gulf of Sidra during 1986, and subsequent strikes against various Libyan targets (El Dorado Canyon). All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All serial (BuAerNums) are correct as they are for the A-6E, but should be considered Generic (tm) in nature, not representing specific aircraft in any particular squadron. In fact, all 3 skins use them as a 'pool' of decals. The Default Start Date switch is used on this skin, so in 1983, you should see only these. The skin maps are new; The aircraft is finished in the 2-tone Compass Ghost Grey over Medium Grey scheme, with subdued markings (black and light grey). The skins are in jpg format. The aircraft are: VA-34 Blue Blasters, USS AMERICA VA-55 Warhorses, USS CORAL SEA VA-85 Black Falcons, USS SARATOGA As these are 'stock' squadrons in the 3rd Wire listing, Level=1 decals are used to activate the squadron name display. This should make it easy for campaign builders to use them in user-made campaigns or single missions (like on Menrva's new Libyan terrain). Please note, =NOTHING= is included that makes the aircraft flyable; no inis, cockpit parts (I use the Razbam payware pit on my A-6E & A-6E TRAMs). You should have made them flyable or need to seek the "parts" on your own. Also, if you have made it flyable, and use the "Read Only" trick on the main ini (A-6E_79.ini), you'll have to un-read only it to add this skin. While specificly designed for the A-6E_79, this mod =should= be compatible with the A-6 Intruder MegaPack by Homefries; the skins use unique squadron named folders and should not conflict or interfere with it (even though said squadrons also exist in his pack, as Level=1 statments, selectable from the Squadron Dropdown on the Loadout screen). Please note the "1983" start date is an arbitrary year, based on my research as a "best guess". On the Loadout Screen, for skin selection you'll see: VA-34 Blue Blasters (2-Tone 1983) VA-55 Warhorses (2-Tone 1983) VA-85 Black Falcons (2-Tone 1983) As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein

    These skins represent the Hi-Viz F-14 squadrons VF-51, VF-111, VF-124, VF-142 and VF-143 I did not included BuNO in this skin pack, except i put the correct one on the VF-124 1976 scheme. The modex series are real one's for each squadron. Some minor details might be different then real life F-14 as there was some minor changes from one block to another but i did not dig this (refering to the gun gas vent). You will get the following skins in this package : VF-51 : 1985 CAG aircraft 1985 ''Line'' aircrafts VF-111 : 1980 Same Hi-Viz scheme for every aircraft VF-124 : 1976 Bicentennial scheme (aircraft 76) 1978 Same Hi-Viz scheme for every aircraft 1987 Special scheme (aircraft 450) 1989 Same Hi-Viz scheme for every aircraft VF-142 : 1975 Same Hi-Viz scheme for every aircraft VF-143 : 1978 Same Hi-Viz scheme for every aircraft Same instructions as usual: Copy the F-14A_82 aircraft folder content to your game F-14A_82 aircraft folder. Copy the F-14A_82 decals folder content to your game F-14A decals folder. Open the Textureset.ini and edit the file by adding the texture.ini lines. Credits: Thanks to Thirdwire for creating the Strike Fighters series. Thanks to the Mirage Factory for providing the wonderful F-14 Superpak and the templates used to create this skin. Thanks to Column5, EricJ and USAFMTL for some of the original skins. Thanks to Swordsman422 who did great F-14 skins and my templates are based on his. In late 1977, the Philippine government purchased 35 secondhand U.S. Navy F-8Hs that were stored at Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona. Twenty-five of them were refurbished by Vought and the remaining 10 were used for spare parts. As part of the deal, the U.S. would train Philippine pilots in using the TF-8A. They were mostly used for intercepting Soviet bombers. The F-8s were grounded in 1988 and were finally withdrawn from service in 1991 after they were badly damaged by the Mount Pinatubo eruption, and have since been offered for sale as scrap. Well, I'm hoping this will be the last update for this aircraft; not much this time around, just that I found that the Case XX wing not only did not go into production in 1969, it's first flight was in May of 1957! It comprised the last 338 (or so) of the entire production run and was actualy the most important modification made to the aircraft after the introduction of the Area Rule in early production aircraft, enabling the F-102A to fly Mach 1 at 55,000 feet, a full 5000 feet higher than the earlier (Case X Wing) aircraft. The other change I made was to fold the (67) into the other Case X and XX Wing planes; it wasn't a different aircraft it just went to Nam.:) The big difference in installation is because of the consolidation of types; (from F-102A, F-102A (60), F-102A (67), F-102A (69) to F-102A, F-102A (CaseX), and F-102A (CaseXX), it is now necessary (because the ini. names don't match) to pull the aircraft Lod.s out of the Razbam folder and drop into this one (pretty much the same as you did for the missles in the previous updates).The Lod.s from the F-102A go in the F-102A folder, the Lod.s from the F-102A (60) go in the Case (X) Wing folder, and the Lod.s from the F-102A (69) go in the Case (XX) Wing folder. Don't forget Cockpit Lod.s for each. The Aircraft ini.s are setup to only use the main (Lod.1) Lod., however if you drop all three into each aircraft folder you can always change your mind at a later date. This also includes Paulopanzs' latest skin pack, adapted for the changes in folder names. Hope this works for everybody; any screw-ups are mine. I've managed to get a lot of animations in the cockpit working; lots of stuff happening when you engage a target. Good luck, good hunting those Commie swine, and I hope you enjoy it. SupGen 3/4/13

    *********************************** Iceland 02 Full-Scale Terrain v1.0 by Baltika *********************************** Thanks to:- Gepard for his terrain tutorials, which started this adventure off all those years ago. Also for his new WoE runways which are included here. JSFAggie for his Highway runway Mod, which has been altered and modded for use as glacier-based FARPs. Brain32 for sound advice on creating terrain tiles. Cheers mate;-) Your hi-res lava tile has not been used here, but may see the light of day if I ever manage a hi-res set for this little terrain. Wrench, Dave & all the gang at CA for invaluable advice on how to make things work, garnered over the years and hopefully put to good effect here. MajorLee, Deuces, Edward and anyone else who made a terrain mod and posted about how to do it. Thanks! TK for making the whole bag of bolts hang together. *********************************** Installation instructions:- Unzip and drop the "ICELAND02" folder into your Saved GamesThirdwireStrikeFighters2Terrains folder. If there is no terrains folder in your mod folder, create one and drop the ICELAND02 folder into it. That's it! Go fly, and fight for the liberation of Iceland. This terrain has been completed using SF2 June 2010 patch. It is not supported on WoX series or earlier patch levels. But, if you really must try, use the ICELAND02_DATA.INI file included in the "Use_in_WoX" folder for SF1 series. Your mileage may vary. *********************************** This terrain features a completely new Iceland map, scaled up to full size and with a completely new tileset. All mission types are flyable for Red and Blue force. It has taken a number of years and several false starts to get to this point. Like gepard said about his Israel terrain, I feel the journey may never be finished, so if you spot any oddities or bugs, drop me a line at CombatAce and I'll try to fix it. I will post targetisation updates as and when these are completed. For now, kick back, enjoy the Arctic scenery and have a blast. Slainthe! Baltika 27 October 2010 ***********************************

    The first production model of the Crusader was the F8U-1,which was later redesignated the F-8A. It first flew on September 20, 1955, and 318 were built between 1956 and 1958. The initial order had been for 448 aircraft, but the last 130 were delivered as F8U-1Es (F-8Bs). The first thirty aircraft were fitted with the Pratt & Whitney J57-P-12 engine, but this was replaced with the more powerful -4 version and in all subsequent F-8As. The original thirty were then retrofitted with the -4 as well. This made the F-8A a Mach 1.5 aircraft. Other improvements added during the production run included the addition of a retractable in-flight refueling probe in a blister on the forward left side of the fuselage. This was begun with the fiftieth production aircraft, and retrofitted to the earlier airframes. The original Vought ejection seat was replaced with the Martin Baker F5 seat. The F-8A was armed with four 20mm canon, thirty-two 2.75-inch rockets in a drawer in the lower fuselage, and two Sidewinder missiles could be carried on fuselage stations. The AN/APG-30 gunsight radar and fire control system was installed for weapons delivery. The first aircraft was accepted for service in December 1956, just four years and three months after the issue of the original requirement by the Navy. It was delivered to VF-32 in March, 1957, with VMF-122 being the first Marine squadron to receive the Crusader. The first carrier deployment was with VF-32 on board the USS Saratoga, (CVA-60). After being replaced with later versions of the Crusader, the F-8As were relegated to training roles, serving as advanced single-seat trainers. The designation TF-8A was often applied to these aircraft. Your F-8A has early markings for either VA-32 or VF-122. The rocket armament IS INCLUDED but you will not see the drawer open and close. This mod has been extensively tested in SF2V. A read-me file with installation steps and CREDITS included.
