    4. C-141B Starlifter Replacement/Tweeks Pak

      C-141B Starlifter Replacement/Tweeks Pak

= For SF2, Any and All (Full 5 RECCOMENDED!!!) =

Some remods/tweeks/partial reskinning and new decals for the recently (re)released C-141B
      Starlifter.

It is designed to totally REPLACE the C-141B in the Cargo Planes Pak, so you'll be deleting the
aircraft and decals folder OF the original (re)release, and replace them with these.

All the painted on markings have been removed, and new decals are used in their places. The
tail flash represents the 438th AW out of McGuire AFB. Many other small changes have been
effected; new avionics ini, lights moved (or removed), etc and so forth. Not a full and total
rebuild, just some tweeks for minor improvements. The partial templates I created/used for this
are included. Maybe someone will step up and give us a Lizard Camo.
The skins supplied herein are in jpg format.

As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read
them!!! Also, give the "Notes" section a read, in particular on operational usage.
The Legal Statement has been changed with regards to this aircraft.

**These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. Any and all issues/problems that
cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created**.

    5. [Fictional] Hawker Hunter F.6M - Irish Air Corps

Hawker Hunter F.6M for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of the Third Wire DLC Hawker Hunter F.6(60) to give a fictional Hunter F.6M in service with the Irish Air Corps during the 1966 to 1988 timeline.

You'll need DLC001 - the Hunter F.6 (60) of the Royal Netherlands Air Force for this to work but if you haven't got it you can hack this package to use whatever stock Hunters you have but expect to lose some functionality.

      Colourful fictional markings for all four Irish provinces are included;

      No.1 Connacht Squadron

      No.2 Leinster Squadron

      No.3 Munster Squadron

      No.4 Ulster Squadron

If you'd prefer to use the standard RAF scheme then I've included a Patch template to help you easily produce the Patch.bmp for your skin folders.

Also included are an Irish Air Corps Pilot and the 'Sleagh' infra-red homing air-to-air missile which is simply a licence-built Red Top but with the familiar IRM growl and an orange skin. Stock RedTops can be used and these Hunters are equipped with the Lightning gunsight which gives a quirky visual confirmation that your missile has lock-on.

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the Hunter6iac folder into your Aircraft folder.

      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the Hunter6iac folder into your Decals folder.

      3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_IAC folder into your Pilots folder.

      4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the SLEAGH folder into your Weapons folder.

    6. Mirage IIIRS Swiss Air Force (EARLY)

Mirage IIIRS Swiss Air Force (EARLY)

Install - Need Update July 2012 and DLC Mirage IIIO

The Swiss Mirages are equipped with RWS, chaff & flare dispensers. Avionics differed as well, with the most prominent difference being that the Thomson-CSF Cyrano II radar was replaced by Hughes TARAN-18 system, giving the Mirage IIIS compatibility with the Hughes AIM-4 Falcon AAM. Also the Mirage IIIS had the wiring to carry a Swiss-built nuclear bomb or French nuclear bomb. The Swiss nuclear bomb was stopped in the preproduction stage and Switzerland did not purchase the French-made bomb. The Mirage IIIS had an integral fuel tank under the aft belly; this fuel tank could be removed and replaced with an adapter of the same shape. This adapter housed a SEPR rocket engine with its liquid fuel tanks. With the SEPR rocket, the Mirage IIIS easily reached altitudes of 20,000 m. The rocket fuel was very hazardous and highly toxic, so the SEPR rocket was not used very often. The Mirage IIIRS could also carry a photo-reconnaissance centerline pod and an integral fuel tank under the aft belly; this carried a smaller fuel load but allowed a back looking film camera to be added. In the early 1990s, the 30 surviving Swiss Mirage IIIS interceptors were put through an upgrade program, which included fitting them with fixed canards and updated avionics. The Mirage IIIS were phased out of service in 1999. The remaining Mirage IIIRS, BS and DS were taken out of service in 2003

    7. [Fictional] General Dynamics F-16A Luftwaffe

Fictional mod of the stock F-16A Netz to make it look like a fictional fighter plane for the west german air forces. It shall depict a bird that could have entered service in the german air forces
if the military had not had the "double-engine doctrine" caused by the high losses inflicted by the Starfighter (or "Widowmaker"; nickname from the german pilots).

YOU WILL NEED SF2:I AT LEAST TO GET THIS PLANE RUNNING!

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. Drop the folders into your Objects folder. If asked to overwrite, click yes.

The bavarian flag from the JBG 32 can be removed by just deleting the entries in the "decals.ini" in the folder "JBG 32". Just delete "bavarianflag" or you won't see the subsequent decals!

      CREDITS

Big Thanks to Thirdwire for the games and the superb models they have.

I also have to thank PraetorH for his help in modelling this unlikely but at least a bit realistic plane.

Also thanks to Spinners. Without his help the decaling of the serial numbers would have taken ages.

    9. [Fictional] BF-5A 'Freedom Fighter'

BF-5A Freedom Fighter for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of 'The Mirage Factory' F-5A/F-5C to create a fictional export version in service with the Belgian Air Force during the 1970-1991 timeline with markings for No.1, No.2, No.8 and No.42 smaldeel (the latter unit tasked with reconnaissance).

      BACKSTORY

During the first half of the 1960's, Belgium and the Netherlands both started looking for a replacement for their F-84F Thunderstreak fighter-bombers and the Lockheed T-33 advanced trainer for delivery around 1970. After both countries had written their individual requirements 12 potential aircraft were studied resulting in a shortlist consisting of the A-7 Corsair, the A-4 Skyhawk, the CL-984 (a version of the F-104), the Mirage 5 and the F-5A. In the mood of the times, Europe was awash with joint requirements and collaborative programmes so it was quite appropriate for the two nations to work together for maximum standarisation so the BAF and KLu issued 'Specification TFT70' a joint requirement for a tactical fighter and advanced trainer.

After exhaustive testing and evaluation both airforces reported to their respective Ministers of Defence, that with some adjustments, the F-5A fighter-bomber and the F-5B advanced trainer were their preferred choice. However, the Belgians had a problem in that Wallonia (the French-speaking part of the country) preferred a French plane (i.e. the Mirage) but after protracted political discussions including the promise of a good share in the license production of the airframe by SABCA and the engines by FN (both based in Wallonia) the F-5 was chosen. In the Netherlands Fokker was chosen to participate in the manufacturing program.

However, during this time Northrop had increased the price of the baseline F-5A by no less than 11% leading both countries to make a deal with Canadair who had recently acquired a production license for their CF-5 derivative. With its more powerful Orenda J85-15 engines and a more sophisticated navigation system this was a step in the direction the BAF and the KLu needed. With further modifications including more advanced avionics, moving-map navigation, radar altimeter, SAAB BT9 bombing computer, bigger underwing droptanks, a two-position nose wheel strut, extra auxiliary louvre-type air inlets for take off and manoeuvering flaps it resulted in the most advanced F-5A ever produced. Compared to the F-5A the more advanced BF/NF-5A promised to be a superb multi-role tactical fighter with a useful air-to-air capability due to it's 50% increase in turn rate over the 'vanilla' F-5A.

In early 1968 both Belgium and the Netherlands each ordered 80 single-seat BF/NF-5A's and 20 two-seat BF/NF-5B's advanced trainers for delivery during 1970 and by the beginning of 1972 both countries had 4 front-line squadrons and an OCU operational in service. The aircraft were generally popular with pilots and ground-crew alike and served both airforces well before slowly being retired during the latter part of the 1980's and by the early 1990's most BF/NF-5's had been retired with most being sold on to Greece, Turkey and Venezuela.

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the BF-5A folder into your Aircraft folder.

      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the BF-5A folder into your main Decals folder.

      3. From the PILOTS folder drag and drop the PILOT_BAF folder into you main Pilots folder.

      4. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the F-5C_TIPTANK and F-5C_WINGTANK folders into your main Weapons folder.

are included in THIS pak. So, you MUST have the original aircraft listed above to add this pack

    12. F-104G - Royal Australian Air Force

This mod contains a series of RAAF skins for the F-104G Starfighter.

      Backstory

During the late 1950s, the RAAF considered the question of replacing the CAC Avon-Sabre. From the submissions of most of the West's major manufacturers, a shortlist of two aircraft was put forward. These aircraft were the Dassault Mirage III, and the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter. In the event, the Government selected the Mirage III, which was manufactured in Australia as the Mirage IIIO. Of course, the Government could have gone the other way ...

Had they done so, there was a chance that the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation would have been chosen to build it (they had been working on this with Lockheed). In real life, the Mirage IIIO was not used in Vietnam due to French restrictions (hence the reason Australia did not replace the Mirage IIIO with the Mirage 2000, and will not replace the F/A-18 with the Rafale), however the F-104G could have been used in Vietnam.

The natural metal, and green/grey schemes reflect the actual colour schemes of the Mirage IIIO. SEA is included because it is highly appropriate for Australian conditions, and would reflect use of RAAF Starfighters in Vietnam. The "Fanta Can" is included because I'd be stoned to death for not including it. Further schemes may be included in updates.

      Contents

Natural Metal, European green/grey, SEA camouflage skins for the following units:
      3SQN 75SQN 76SQN 77SQN 79SQN ARDU

      "Fanta Can" scheme for ARDU.

In the extras folder, there are alternate wings for different roundel configurations:
Upper and lower, both wings (reflecting most F-104 users) Lower, both wings (reflecting the Mirage IIIO and A-4G) Upper left, lower right (reflecting the F-4E and F-111C)

      Installation

Copy the contents of ModFolder into your mod folder. Overwrite where necessary. If you have downloaded the previous RAAF F-104G, I suggest deleting it before adding this mod. Materials and instructions for making the F-104G flyable are widely available on this site. You must have the Mirage IIIO DLC to use this mod.

      Add this text to "F-104G_userlist.ini"

    13. [Fictional] McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom 'VNAF'

McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom 'VNAF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is a very simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-4C to create a fictional Phantom in service with the Vietnamese Air Force in the 1973 to 1975 timeline.

      BACKSTORY

The end of the Linebacker campaign on October 23rd, 1972 coincided with the US Government's 'Project Enhance Plus' - essentially the building up of the Vietnamese Air Force (VNAF) to an adequate level to sustain effective operations after any final ceasefire and, more importantly for domestic politics, to continue the fight after the complete withdrawl of US forces. In a rush effort, 288 aircraft were transferred to the VNAF including 116 F-5's Freedom Fighters, 90 A-37's Dragonflys and 28 A-1 Skyraiders. Not content with that, South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu specifically asked for F-4 Phantoms explaining that he felt that the VNAF was being issued with aircraft that were short on range and unable to carry the fight to the North.

Initially refused, US President Nixon later added an amendment to 'Project Enhance Plus' by allowing the transfer of 36 F-4C Phantoms from USAF stocks. The war-weary F-4C's began to arrive in early 1973 to equip two squadrons of the VNAF based at Tan Son Nhut airbase seeing sporadic action during the uneasy truce and scattered skirmishes of 1973 and 1974. However, when NVA forces burst through the crumbing South Vietnamese defences during April 1975 they quickly captured Bien Hoa airbase to the north of Saigon and immediately swung west to capture Tan Son Nhut airbase catching most the surviving 27 F-4C's of the VNAF on the ground. The Phantoms were inspected and overhauled by Chinese technicians before entering service with the 927th Fighter Regiment of the Vietnam People's Air Force (VPAF) who operated the type until 1982 when they were grounded by a chronic spares shortage.

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-4C_VNAF folder into your Aircraft folder.

      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-4C_VNAF folder into your main Decals folder.

    15. [Renewed] F-4K Phantom II - Royal Australian Navy

This contains three F-4K Phantom IIs in the markings of the Royal Australian Navy. 724, 805, and 808 Squadrons are portrayed. 805 Squadron is portrayed operating from HMAS Melbourne, while 808 Squadron is based on Sydney. 724 Squadron is portrayed as a training squadron operating from HMAS Albatross, a Naval Air Station at Nowra, New South Wales.

The three time periods of TK's F-4K DLC are represented, original, 75, and 80.

For all, a standard US Navy Gull Grey/White skin is provided, and for the F-4K 80, a two-tone grey camouflage is also provided for 805 and 808 Squadrons. The latter is similar to the camouflage seen on some RAN A-4G Skyhawks near the end of their service life.

      Modified F-4J loadouts are used.

Please note carefully: You cannot use the inboard pylons and the AIM-9 rails simultaneously. If you load one, the other will empty. This is not a bug per se, this is simply an inbuilt limitation for the Spey Phantoms.

The aircraft has been tested in a merged SF2 installation, patched to August 2012. I have included paulopanz's F-4K DLC enhamcement.

I have included a squadrons.ini. This is not necessary for this mod, but is necessary for the RAAF and RCAF F-4M Phantoms.

Incidentally, I'd suggest also getting Wrench's HMAS Australia (SCB-125 "What If") located here: http://combatace.com...cb-125-what-if/

      Backstory

The RAN proposed the acquisition of Essex class carriers to the Government in 1964 to replace the Majestic class HMAS Melbourne. The aircraft the RAN proposed was the F-4B Phantom.

Operating an F-4B from the relatively small deck of an Essex class carrier is problematic, to say the least. On the other hand, the F-4K Phantom modifications would enable the operation of a Phantom from such a small deck.

For further on this (including the RAN proposal itself) see the following:

    16. [Renewed] CF-110K Phantom II - Royal Canadian Navy

This contains three F-4K Phantom IIs in the markings of the Royal Canadian Navy. The real CF2H Banshee squadrons, VF-870 and VF-871 are portrayed.

The three time periods of TK's F-4K DLC are represented, original, 75, and 80.

For all, a standard US Navy Gull Grey/White skin is provided, and for the F-4K 80, a two-tone grey camouflage is also provided. The latter is similar to the camouflage seen on some US Navy and USMC F-4 Phantoms near the end of their service life.

      Backstory

The idea for this aircraft comes from my alternate history site. It was first operated by this alternate Royal Canadian Navy in 1968 (in this timeline, there was no unification in the Canadian Armed Forces)
The aircraft was meant to serve on Canada's two Essex class carriers, HMCS Bonaventure and HMCS Magnificent in the fleet defence and strike roles. In order to get the performance required for such small carriers, a new turbofan was developed by Orenda, the Orenda Huron. Redesign of the Phantom airframe to accomodate the larger engine was done by Avro Canada.

    17. F-4K Phantom II - VC-724, Royal Australian Navy

This is an additional skin for my F-4K Phantom II - Royal Australian Navy portraying the markings of 724 Squadron.

In real life, 724 Squadron (or VC-724) was the RAN Fleet Air Arm's fast jet training squadron. 724 Squadron commissioned in the RAN in 1955 as a fighter training squadron. In real life, it operated various types including the C-47, Sea Vampire, Sea Venom, Macchi MB-326H trainers, and A-4G Skyhawks. From 1972, VC-724 operated only Macchis and Skyhawks. Australia's carrier, HMAS Melbourne was decommissioned in 1982, and VC-724 transferred its Macchis to the RAAF and absorbed VF-805's Skyhawks. The Squadron decommissioned in 1984, with its remaining aircraft being sold to the RNZAF.

The Phantom skin provided here contains the "gold delta" tail design used on many of VC-724's Skyhawks. In line with the markings of my operational Phantoms, the decals for the squadron patch (splitter plate), squadron number, and ship name are also provided.

    18. CF-110M Phantom II - Royal Canadian Air Force

The CF-110M Phantom II for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

There are three versions of the F-4M in this mod.
TK's F-4M: ADC Grey, SEA, RAF Green/Grey, Olive Drab.
TK's F-4M (75): ADC Grey, SEA wrap around, RAF Green/Grey wrap around, Olive Drab, Euro 1.
TK's F-4M (80): ADC Grey, SEA wrap around, RAF Green/Grey wrap around, Olive Drab, Euro 1.

      The following squadrons are provided:
      409 Squadron
      410 Squadron
      416 Squadron
      425e Escadre

Modified F-4D loadouts are used. It is impossible to use the Sidewinder rails and the inboard pylons simultaneously. This is a built-in limitation of the F-4K and F-4M.

      Back Story

The idea for this aircraft comes from my alternate history site. It was first operated by this alternate Royal Canadian Air Force in 1969 (in this timeline, there was no unification in the Canadian Armed Forces)
The RCAF originally did not want the Phantom, being content to stick with the Thunderchief and the Voodoo until the TFX (CF-111C) and FX (CF-15) were ready during the 1970s.
Canadian participation in the Vietnam War changed that. Canada committed Voodoos to defend the social democratic North Vietnam from Nazi German forces operating from the South and from Burma. The CF-101's inability to dogfight, and unreliability in the harsh tropical conditions of North Vietnam made early replacement necessary. The only aircraft available was the CF-4K, being introduced to the RCN as its strike fighter. McDonnell and Avro Canada devised a land-based version with minimal changes. This entered service in 1969 and quickly went to Vietnam. After the war ended in 1975, the Phantom replaced the Voodoo entirely in the RCAF.

    19. [Renewed] F-4M Phantom II - Royal Australian Air Force

The F-4M Phantom II for the Royal Australian Air Force.

There are three versions of the F-4M in this mod.
TK's F-4M: This is intended as a strike aircraft (but is capable in all roles). In this scenario, it was operated by 2 Squadron, 12 Squadron, and 460 Squadron. It comes in the SEA colour scheme, a Green/Grey RAF-style scheme, and an overall olive drab (as on the CF-104).
TK's F-4M (75): This is an interceptor operated by 3 Squadron, 30 Squadron, and 458 Squadron. It comes in an ADC Grey scheme, a wrap-around SEA scheme, the Euro 1 scheme, and a wrap-around Green/Grey RAF-style scheme.
TK's F-4M (80): Again, this is an interceptor operated by 3, 30, and 458 Squadrons. It comes in the grey scheme worn by RAF Phantoms near the end of their service lives, Euro 1, a wrap-around Green/Grey RAF-style scheme, and a wrap-around SEA scheme. Low-visibility national markings are provided for the grey scheme.

I have taken the SF2 Realism Mod SquadronList.ini and added 12, 30, 458, and 460 Squadrons to it, and numbered the decals accordingly.

      Back Story

The idea for this aircraft comes from my alternate history site. It was first operated by this alternate Royal Canadian Navy in 1968.

The RAAF's primary strike aircraft for the sixties was the F-105 Thunderchief. During the Vietnam War, the RAAF used its Thunderchiefs to strike targets of strategic importance to the Saigon Fascist regime. However, German air defences in South Vietnam had taken their toll on the Thuds. With the F-111C suffering serious delays, the RAAF took what was available, the F-4 Phantom. This aircraft had just been introduced by the Royal Australian Navy. In Vietnam, the Phantom enjoyed a high level of success, and showed its multi-role capacity.

With the delivery of the F-111s, and their work up to full operational capability, the RAAF needed to find a mission for its Phantoms, or a buyer. The RAAF recommended early replacement of the F-106 Delta Dart. The Government accepted this option, and the F-4M served as Australia's air defender until the early 1990s.

*There is a possibility that this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However due to the excessive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment, not all features will be avaliable.*

Mods to Pasko's Mosquito (and of my NF.XII), create the eariler NightFighter/Intruder version, in this case, the NF.II.

Like the other Mossies I've re-released, a new (mostly) SF2 compliant FM was created. As per usual, fine tuning of the FM by experts is requested.
Sounds, pilot figures -including the FakePilot and Radar 'bow & arrow" antennas- and weapons (ok, the drop tanks) are included, as is a new SF2 "Box Art" style Hangar screen.

Skins/Decals included in this set are:

No.157 Squadron, in overall "Night" circa 1942
No.141 Squadron, in 1943-ish Sea Gray/Dark Green, Night unders

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, as mentioned, the "Notes" section for other stuff of interest.

*This mod is being released in an "as is" condition; PLEASE see the Notes section for more info. Also, take note the Legal Notice has had a small modification.*
