1 pointHello everybody, Update 3.001 testing is progressing well: almost all the planned functionality is in and ready. We know that you'd like to hear an exact release date, but since this update is shaping up to be the biggest of all, it's hard to pinpoint an exact release date. Nevertheless, as we said before, we're doing our best to release this update before the end of Winter. Major tasks that still remain include P-39 cockpit texturing and completion of 25 Career mission types that will be included in the initial release (after it the work on the new mode will continue to increase the total number of the mission types to 40). Once again, this update is going to be the leader in terms of changes and additions - the change list includes more than 80 items already. Speaking of the further development, we'll start to disclose various details about it pretty soon. For now, we can say that the work on 3D models of P-47, Spitfire Mk.IXe and Bf 109 G-14 has already started while we're collecting reference documents on Tempest Mk.V. In the same time, we have started adapting the existing WWI aircraft FM for IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles engine for Flying Circus project. The work on Tank Crew is also progressing: new track assembly animation tech and increased height map detail are accompanied by the new detailed buildings destruction tech which will be used on 'Clash at Prokhorovka' map; the first two new 3D tank models are in the works as well. We'll tell you about them later, but they are heavies. To spice up today's diary, here are the official A-20B skins. Important note is that external textures of A-20B are made in 4K resolution: You can discuss the news in this thread

1 pointView File E-8A/C Joint STARS E-8A/C Joint STARS This mod builds upon the E-8C found in the original ODS campaign and corrects for an E-8A as used in Desert Storm. Included E-8A with skins for Desert Storm, Testing (92-95), and Bosnia E-8C with skins for the 93d ACW and the 116th ACW Georgia Air National Guard Installation unzip, cut/copy and paste to mod folder. allow overwrite (should only apply to ODS mod folders), although for best results remove the old E-8C files from aircraft and decals. Credits the original model and skin was created by The Mirage Factory, based on the 707 model by Bpao C-130 pit by dels Skin adjustments, tga and ini work by daddyairplanes original moddable game by TK Known Issues dels C-130 pit is used to make the aircraft player flyable. this pit is not very suited to the 707 airframe (alot of extra frame for a 707), but works for its purpose. The aircraft was not originally intended to be player flyable (airborne command and control not being a player mission set) and is best used as eye candy. However, i always put a pit in so i can see how my work progressed, and leave it for you guys to use too. I hope you enjoy this mod Kevin Unruh aka daddyairplanes 11 Feb 2018 Submitter daddyairplanes Submitted 02/11/2018 Category Other

1 pointTo enhance the ground support of the troops on deployments...the GoC purchased A-10s in a deal brokered with Washington. Still needs some serial work to complete it.

1 pointHi all, This is my Hall Bulldog. I made this model back in 2011 and I have upgraded it to my level of work of today. This Hall Bulldog can be used in Vehicle Simulator and Canvas Knights games. The Hall Bulldog can be downloaded in Canvas Knights Mods. Hope you all enjoy the Hall Bulldog. Deutschmark

1 pointBeen slowly working my way through the model and upgrading it to current standards. Stephen1918 taught me his way to make a new aircraft. You "borrow" files from an already existing model of similar size and configuration, and then slowly modify the INIs to reflect the characteristics of the new aircraft. I'll probably use SkippyBing's Baffin files for a starting point, get it roughly working ingame, then pass it on to Quack74 to finish the artwork. Perhaps it can then be passed on to Ojcar to tweak the FM and other stuff?
-
1 pointQuack74 and I have found a way to break the aircraft production bottleneck - we hope. I'm currently revising my old model of the Junkers J.1. When I get it mapped and roughly working ingame, I'll turn it over to him and let him finish it while I continue working on other stuff.
-
1 pointNice model. But one remark. It is not the Junkers J.1 it is the Junkers J.I The "I" was read in two ways, first as roman written "1", second as big "i" which stands for "Infanterieflugzeug" This was the J.1 and this the J.I

1 pointThank you, Geezer! When this infantry flier is finished, it will be just great! As always, I have one question: it is for FE2 only? Or it maybe convertible to 1st Gen?

Version
3,094 downloads
CatPack - Archiving utility for Third-Wire CAT format, GB 17-07-2011. V1.22, Freeware, Use at your own risk, files limit is set at 8000. Packs all files in current folder to CatPack.cat except CatPack.exe/CatPack.cat. Unpacks any cat file you drop on the icon to a folder with the archive's name. You can press Ctrl+Break to interrupt and close the program, but it will leave files unfinished when doing so. UPDATE: CatPack V1.1 will extract contents of the new Strike Fighters 2 Cat (no 2) archives. The Display will tell the Cat version to be 2, instead of 1. Subfolder information contained in version 2 archives will be restored properly. The unicode filenames in the version 2 archives are converted back to ASCII, therefor actual unicode-only characters in filenames will not be restored. Catpack does not yet support creating a version 2 Cat archive. Maybe later. CatPack V1.11 works properly when Cat files are in folders that have their 'archive' flag set. This seems to be the case with the SF2 objects folder. CatPack V1.12 has some additional features when extracting a Cat archive: First it automatically creates an index file of the Cat file. Second and it allows one to optionally pass a wildcard string, only files matching this wildcard string will be extracted from the archive. For example "mig" will only extract files that have "mig" in their name or extension. CatPack V1.22 Supports extracting a slightly new Cat format (no 3) as introduced between May and July 2011. Yet the compressed format that was also introduced is not supported. As SF2 since that time does not recognize version 1 cat archives, support for creating version 2 and 3 was added. Though without packing subfolders. For now it is recommended to just use format 2. Credits: Gerwin (gbroers[at]quicknet[d0t]nl) - Author Kreelin and Paolo - Beta testing of V1.1.
