You don't even need to actually "create" new holes tga/dds. The way I've been doing it for the last several years, is simply find one of the stock ones that's "close enough", via comparing it to the skin maps. Then, it's a simple copy and rename to match the X-aircraft's skins. Saves a fuckload of time, and works just as well (yea, I'm a cheater. After 15 years with this game, I'm allowed!! )

As in the F-35B topic, FC is helping me out. He stated that he got it finished in MAX and has to map it this weekend. From FC: - F/A-18F - F/A-18G - F/A-18E (derived from F model) So right now, first will be the F model, with the G model behind it, and the E model, due to the fact that the fuselage has (the model) to be modified so it can be an "E" version. ETA is two weeks as usual. Yes FC has other commitments, and honestly I'm impatiently waiting for it, but we're on his schedule, not ours. Part of the reason he had to do a lot of fact finding so he can produce a good rendition. Components, especially the airbrakes need some research, but overall FC I'm sure has figured it out, so keep it to this topic, and keep Klavs81's "pure"

Dornil, here's an old link that may be of use regarding Dhimar and Paran. At one point I used this edit to make Dhimar and Paran flyable in campaigns but now I just use 4 new fictional countries two of which use the Dhimar and Paran insignia. https://combatace.com/forums/topic/52761-desert-campaign-no-foreign-powers/?tab=comments#comment-387822

Dear Pilots, I am wrapping up another trip to our Moscow studio where we discussed the current successes and future challenges that face our team and IL-2 Great Battles series. As always, we have a strong team and the will to keep powering on pushing the limits of ourselves and our products. Battle of Bodenplatte is coming along nicely along with the PO-2 which we will officially rename the U-2 to be more historically correct. This cool little bi-plane is finally nearing the final stage. Matter of fact, we had a real pilot who has experience flying an actual U-2 test our FM. He really liked it and gave us some small pointers that we will incorporate into the FM. Additionally, Flying Circus work continues as does Tank Crew work including tank platoon commands and the more complex damageable buildings for the Prokhorovka map. Before I catch my flight back to the U.S. here are some pics of the skins that will ship with the P-47 D-28 “Jug” and the updated faces of our American USAAF pilot and our WWI Entente pilots. Per your feedback we have made them look younger. Quite a rugged, good looking fellow custom fit for the part. See you soon when I’m back in America. Jason P.S. Some of the textures on the ordinance is not finished yet so don't panic. You can discuss the news in this thread.

Looking to fill the aggressor requirement for USAF ,USN and possibly NATO customers , private companies investigated the purchase of modified JF-17 Thunder fighters . The US government agreed to the private purchase on condition that a US engine and avionics were fitted, and that no "live" weapons could be carried . The modified jet was known as the A-17 .

Grumman Tiger FGA.1 - No.1 Squadron, Royal Air Force, 1966 Despite the infamous 1957 White Paper (which dictated that the RAF would not need any manned combat aircraft whose role could be covered by missiles) by early 1960 the RAF had two main aircraft projects under development; OR339 for an advanced tactical strike and reconnaissance aircraft and OR356 for a common replacement for the RAF's Hawker Hunter fighter-bombers and the Royal Navy's Sea Vixen carrier-based fighters. Ideally, both projects required some consolidation of the UK aircraft industry with government organised mergers and soon English Electric, Vickers-Armstrong, Bristol and Hunting Aviation merged together to form the British Aircraft Corporation in 1960 to develop the TSR.2 to OR339. Hawker Siddeley Aviation had already acquired Folland Aircraft in 1959 and followed this by acquiring de Havilland Aircraft Company and Blackburn Aircraft in 1960. In 1961, they submitted their advanced P.1150 VTOL strike fighter to NATO Basic Military Requirement 3 (NBMR-3) calling for a supersonic V/STOL strike fighter with a combat radius of 460 kms and a dash speed of Mach 1.5 with a 910kg payload. However, changes made to the NBMR-3 requirement led to the P.1150 being considered to be undersized and therefore unsatisfactory leading to a redesign. A new and larger aircraft design, re-designated as the P.1154, soon emerged and was submitted by Hawker Siddeley Aviation to the Ministry of Aviation for both NATO NBMR-3 and to the UK's OR356. In May 1962, the P.1154 emerged as the 'technical winner' in the NBMR-3 competition but this did not lead to orders being placed as the French government withdrew from participation once the Dassault Mirage IIIV design had lost. NATO's NBMR-3 selection went unheeded by it's member nations and the whole project was terminated. The loss of a potentially large NATO order immediately destabilized the P.1154 project and played right into the hands of the reluctant Admiralty who decided to buy the American F-4 Phantom aircraft as their Sea Vixen replacement, thus throwing the entire cost of development and production onto the RAF. In a statement to the House of Commons the Prime Minister explained, " I have to tell the House that this is not a practicable proposition. The problem here is that on these present estimated requirements, and on the latest realistic estimate of the remaining life of the Hunter aircraft, the P.1154 will not be in service in time to serve as a Hunter replacement.” The axe finally fell on the P.1154 on September 3rd, 1962. Meanwhile, having failed to secure any US Navy contracts for their F11F-1F 'Super Tiger', Grumman had aggressively marketed the Super Tiger to foreign customers eventually gaining important export orders to Japan and Canada that had kept the Bethpage production line open. Having previously offered the West German Government a version of the F-11F-1F powered by the Rolls-Royce Avon 301R, rated at 12,500 lbs dry thrust and 16,360 lbs thrust with reheat, Grumman quickly dusted off the design and offered it to the UK Government as a Hawker Hunter replacement. With the RAF so focused on holding on to TSR.2 at all costs they were keen to adopt this off the shelf proposal that was far cheaper than any paper project so the Ministry of Aviation quickly created OR366 to cover the adoption of the Super Tiger. A production order for 200 Tiger FGA.1's was placed with Grumman on January 1963 with the first examples entering service in April 1964 with No.1 Squadron based at RAF Wittering. SF2 NAA F2J-1B Super Fury Pack (What If...) by Cocas & Co. 12/9/2017 = For SF2 (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended) = *Note: you =MUST= have, as stated above have, at minimum, a Full-4 merged install, as this mod makes use of many stock items, most importantly, the cockpit from the F-100 Super Sabre.* The is the release of a new "What If..." aircraft for US Navy, the F2J-1B Super Fury. This is a 2 seat version of the F2J-1 released recently in the "F2J Super Fury What If Pack. There are 2 complete skin & decal sets in this package, representing aircraft in Fleet Service, and those in later service with Training squadrons: USN Grey/White: VF-53 "Iron Angles" (at NAS Alameda, and aboard USS RANGER, WESPAC) USN Overall White/Orange VT-9 "Tigers" (as based at NAS Meridian) Please note, that the skins will automatically change in 1964, when they were removed from "combat duty" and used as advanced trainers. The skins are in jpg format, and damage textures are DDS. All other parts (pilots, seats) are supplied. Each skin has it own specific hangar screen. All markings, excepting the International Oranage markings on the VT-9 skin are decals. Decal randomization is TRUE. Modex numbers are the correct series for both skins, in the time frame represented. The Standard Animation Keystrokes (tm) is used for the Wingfold (Shift/9) and Canopy (Shift/0). The aircraft is carrier certified, and has been tested in the Full-5 and SF2NA envrionments. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. SF2 DH/F Comet SR.1 Pack (What If...) by Cocas & Co. 11/3/2017 = For SF2 (Full-4/5 Merged Reccomended) = *Note: you =MUST= have, as stated above have, at minimum, a Full-4 merged install, as this mod makes use of many items, most importantly, access to the stock F-4M cockpit. Therefore, it's vitally important that your game version has access to this cockpit.* The is the release of a new "What If..." strike bomber by Cocas Air Factory, the DeHaviland/Fairey Comet. This aircraft was designed from the GOR-339 specification, that in the Real World (tm) created the TSR.2. The aircraft is finished in standard RAF Medium Gray/Green disruptive over white undersides. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Skins are in jpg format, and damage textures are DDS. Some Weapons are supplied, although most used are stock 3W items; pilots are also supplied. As squadron markings are decals, you can choose any RAF F-4 squadron in the game (Level 1 decals). The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0. The dragchute deploys upon landing with the airbrakes. With luck, I've also suppled all the correct nuclear explosion effects and sounds. PLEASE check you game's /Effects folder before installing these, to make sure of no conflicts. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -- for Cocas Aircraft Factory --

SF2 Korean War Era F-86 Sabre Pak = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = *Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level, due to the extensive modifications made to fit them into the SF2 environment. End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level.* This is the F-86 Sabre Pak for the Korean Air War mod. Probably as eagerly awaited as the terrain itself... Ladies, Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, THIS is the "Star of the Show"!!! In this pak you have 3 Sabre marks, with their various skins/decals sets: F-86A: 334th FIS 335th FIS 336th FIS, 4th FIW This set uses the 'SF2 date switch' to swap from the Black/White Invasion stripes (Early skins) to the Yellow ID band (Late Skins). They switch on March 1, 1951. F-86E: No. 2 Squadron, SAAF 16th FIS 25th FIS 39th FIS, 51st FIW 334th FIS 335th FIS 336th FIS, 4th FIW F-86F: 16th FIS 25th FIS 39th FIS, 51st FIW 334th FIS 335th FIS 336th FIS, 4th FIW ...and a Surprise Bird, with 3 skins of it's own!!!!! All aircraft have brand new skins, built from ravenclaw's beyond superb template. All skins are in jpg format, and Decal Randomization is set to TRUE. Almost all markings are decals, excepting special vert fin/rudder markings (the yellow stripe for the 4th FIW, and checkboard with squadron color for the 51st). New DDS damage textures are included. An all new, SF2-compliant FM was created for these aircraft; it flys like it should! (as seen on some other recently released Sabre mods) A new userlist ini is also included. The F-86A gets an SF2-version of my original 'box art' Hangar screen; the E & Fuses a more 'generic' style. No weapons are included; they are in the KAW weapons pak, and excepting for the drop tanks and HVARs, reference stock items (ie: the bombs). Many new sounds are included; be advised the included 50cal sound =WILL= overwrite any others you posess. Several new 'effects' are included as well. For your extra added Flying Pleasure, a KAW =ONLY!!= modded InstantAction.ini resides in the included /Flight folder. REMINDER: use this =ONLY= in a stand alone KAW mods folder. It's based off the Korea V.3 map, and you'll need the MiG-15bis_NK, La-11 Fang, F-82G, F9F-2, and of course, these Sabres. This is an optional use file; I won't be insulted if you don't use it, or change the aircraft to what you want. Really; I promise! As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. There are "Operational Notations" and other impertinant data you should know. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein -for the KAW Team-

F-104I for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the Third Wire Lockheed Starfighter F-104G to give a fictional F-104I 'Kohav' (Star) of the Israeli Air Force with markings for No.119 squadron - "The Bat Squadron". As this download relies on the stock Third Wire F-104G LODs then you must have SF2:Europe where TK has thoughfully left them for us. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104I folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104I folder into your main Decals folder. SKINS/MARKINGS I wanted to capture the look of the early Mirage IIIC's in Israeli service and saw a photograph of a No.119 squadron machine with red/white rudder stripes and a red fin marking and decided to copy that. As there are no hi-res squadron patch images for No.119 squadron I designed by own, I hope you like it! CREDITS Special thanks to guyran for suggesting the Hebrew name of 'Kohav'. And special thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 3 - Dated 17/04/16

Upgrade of the F-86D Dog Sabre and F-86L Lima Sabre to SF2I standards. Includes new Med-Rez skins, damage textures, sounds, effects, and weapons. Known Issues The AI is really crappy about firing the Mighty Mouse Rockets as a rocket, so I borrowed Hgbns gun data for the Mighty Mouse. But still, the AI is horrible at using the Rocket so don't count on the AI to do a whole hell of a lot. This addon still needs tweaking for the AI to be effective, may require some cheating for the AI to use. I released this to hopefully make this pack better and useable against aircraft So if you know how to make it better, PM me and I will test and update.
