West of the Suez Canal on July 1970 EW Radars detected low altitude intruders. Fire control radar started tracking... In range... PUCK! V-601P 5V27 follows the engagement path... Missile gets closer and closer... Missile on channel 1 exploded and the aircraft was just hit. After that the intruder turned back and left the area.

View File Sea Harrier FA2_2018 Not another Sea Harrier FA2 I hear you say.........well...yes. Original Mirage Factory max file extensively rebuilt by me, too many modifications to mention, same goes for the pit. Backup any other versions you may have as unlike a lot of mods posted on here nowadays I'm not telling you to dump other folks hard work because mine is better.....you decide for yourselves (rant mode off). You WILL need Thrust Vectoring set up in your controls to fly this thing. Please read the ReadME......without it this thing would not of got released.. Mirage Factory product. Have fun. Somewhere in FE (I don't remember where) there's a section of an ini file that has controls for formations - how far apart the planes are, etc. Could that have been changed by accident?

Offending gunner successfully removed from the F.11c model by Bort. (Thank you Stephen and Trotsky for tips for this, from the other thread.) Have also renamed the regular Farman 11 (Shorthorn) lod/out files and swapped them into the 11c folder, for good measure, and the trick works well as visible in one of the pics below...will upload these data inis in a few days after some more testing. The AI handles them nicely...the Longhorn takes off in the mid 70s kph, the Shorthorn in the mid 80s. Top speeds are mid-90s for the Longhorn, about 105 kph for the Shorthorn...climb rates are slightly improved from the previous data inis. The early Farmans, while slow, could lift weight/passengers quite well. Other pic. is of the Longhorn nicely handled by the AI. The types do well to about 2500 m alt., possibly a bit higher, although their theoretical ceiling is pegged around 3600 to 4000 m in the data inis. At any rate I'd sooner take them or one of the Morane Parasol types into an early conflict than the abysmally performing MS type G...the type H is not much better but at least it has a better climb rate than the type G. On last Sunday 4 russian MiG-31 fighter planes run out of fuel during a routine patrol mission. So they were forced to land on the civil airport of Ussinsk in Sibiria. The intention was to refuel the fighters at ground. But the procedures needed to much time, so that the engines were to cold for restart. Now the planes are sitting on the icy airfield and waiting for the ground crews and their starting equippment.

View File AV-8B Harrier II Night Attack - SF2. ver.2019 AV-8B Harrier II Night Attack. This is my humble rework of old AV-8B. Basic modding skills are required to run this mod. (copy/paste, mod folder structure etc.) A fake pilot is needed to run this mod. It is designed for and works only in SF2 series. Around 2 years ago - January 2016 - KillerBee approach me with the possibility of updating bobrock's harrier, and preparing Night Attack version. After some time, we had file ready for upload. Small changes here and there corrected a few things. And great skins by Killerbee. And then KillerBee disappeared from CA forum. Honestly, up to now, I have no contact with him. last - 4th May 2016. So harrier stayed on drive waiting for his comeback. But .... I couldn't resist...And iI started to mod this again. Since I had no KB skin templates I had to do all new skins...and more. So now I am here...My standard AV-8B Harrier is already available for download and now its Night Attack model. New cockpit and a whole set of new skins and decals on whole remodeled 'old' Harrier. - there is no single part of an original model that hasn't be touched/remodeled etc. First of all...If you want to count rivets...Do not. Many things could be done other way....but I did it my way. So you have to bear with it. All skins are in 4096x4096 format. So you can easily resize down. Generally, it is just a few skins. If you have problems running this in game. Resize skins to lower resolutions. Skins match VMA squadrons from early AV-8B and late AV-8B radar version. Decals are based on my and KillerBee research. All serials are correct for the Night Attack version of Harrier II. Not always (but mostly) correct for a unit/year of service etc. But as always aircraft are rotating between units so its hard to track them down really. Big Thanks to Ravenclaw - He send me file with new ALQ-164 pod. Now it is part of the upload. For some reason, I have added weapons that are present in Loadout.ini. Animations: 1= canopy open - close 4= refueling probe - beware of a speed limit 3= night vision mode - not really helping but it is there - inside and outside animation. ************************************************************************************ You can exlplore ini files for some additional features like in cockpit "FLIR" feed on HUD . AAQ-28 can be loaded only on station number 5 and centerline - in real - centerline come to use later and some units (VMAT) also moded wiring for use on other pylons. But in this mod only station 5 and 4 can carry AAQ-28. There are two stations prepared for Intrepid Tiger II pod. In future. ECM also activates RWR on digital display indicator - even if ECM pod is not loaded. If you have my AV-8B Harrier already - some files are same so simply overwrite. I think I did not put equalizer sound file now. It is same as in previous day Harrier. for proper sound work you should add these lines into soundlist.ini SoundFilexxx=xxxx SoundFileXXX=USMComm_1 SoundFileXXX=Equalizer [Equalizer] Priority=NORMAL Looped=TRUE NumBuffers=2 3DSound=TRUE DopplerEffect=FALSE MaxDist=1000.000000 MinDist=100.000000 InsideConeAngle=360 OutsideConeAngle=360 ConeOutsideVolume=100 [USMComm_1] Priority=NORMAL 3DSound=FALSE NumBuffers=1 Looped=TRUE FrequencyControl=FALSE ************************************************************************************ Credits. Me - whole sort of strange things - model-re-model, new cockpit, skins, decals, ini files etc. Ravenclaw - BRU-42 ITER models. ALQ-164 model, weapons. AAQ-28 Pod- I don't remember who made this model - all credits to him and thank you. 331Killerbee - ideas, good words, research primary work on skins and decals, work on ini files, loadouts, effects etc. Crusaders - help with avionics ini. Sounds taken from sources offering free sound samples. bobrock- the original first version of the standard model - Thank you and thanks to KillerBee. Thanks to a lot of people who helped me with this mod...Stratos, Crusader, Geary, gurru, Soulfreak,76.IAP-Blackbird, and others. Thank you all CA users. I would then recommend a re-download of Stephen's HF.20 and a re-install, to double-check that the anomaly is not there with a fresh install of the aircraft. This will help to figure out if the problem is with the HF.20 files or perhaps some other file in your FE2 install. Let us know of your progress. Hopefully we'll figure something out. Von S

Yes its nice to see these really early types being put to use, may have to do some skin jobs now, although the idea about new nacelles is one to be borne in mind , asfor the Parasols, not flown them much myself so I am now intrigued to see how dreadful they are, I'm a sucker for lost causes and bad ideas !!! Talking of skin jobs, the glaringly obvious problem with these Farmans is the wings can only be one colour, which is ok for the Fabric CDL ones but if I wanted to do some of the RNAS/RFC types, they seem to be two tone upper and lower colours.

Could be a variety of things...mismatch between the cockpit. ini file and cockpit folder contents, or files thrown into the cockpit folder from different sub-variants of the same aircraft...happens to me on occasion if I'm not careful with my multiple FE2 installs. Have PM-ed you the cockpit.ini file and cockpit folder that I use with Stephen's HF.20 - perhaps it will solve the problem. Happy flying, Von S

That is extremely helpful! I have been installing Mods onto the SF 2 platform, and the similarities are readily apparent. I should rise from the level of idiot to relatively accomplished Mod-installer fairly quickly now that I begin to understand the construction of the sim. Many thanks! As far as installing Mods to FE2, I am concentrating on those that add aircraft, terrains/campaigns, and such essential content. Not terribly interested in menu screens or skins. As such, I am focusing on mods specifically labeled for FE2, and ignoring those mods intended for FE1. I understand that many of the latter might work, but I don't have the time required to install "possibles". Naturally, this is not a slight on the FE1 Mods, or Modders. I will install a fair amount of stuff, testing along the way before I install your very extensive package of FM/campaign Mods, as per your recommendation. Thanks for all your help!

oh thank you thank you THANK YOU !!!!........remove the offending gunner , it was making my eyeballs bleed . so more revisions on the way, to make the aircraft even more horrible to fly ? brilliant, love it !! makes you appreciate what the real pilots had to handle, and with cruddy weather chucked in.....oh my life !! Yeah no wonder life expectancy was so low..........

'In the summer of 1945, approximately 30 P-80As were sent aboard an aircraft carrier to the Philippines in preparation for the final assault on Japan. The planes were to be issued to the 414th Fighter Group, based at Florida Blanca. Unfortunately, the planes had been sent without their tip tanks and their aircraft batteries, so they sat aboard the aircraft carrier for 30 days waiting for this equipment. By the time that the batteries and wingtip tanks were delivered, the war in the Pacific had ended, so the P-80 never got a chance to enter combat in the war against Japan." http://www.joebaugher.com/usaf_fighters/p80_12.html 413th Fighter Squadron, 414 Fighter Group, Okinawa 1945/46 437th Fighter Squadron,414 Fighter Group, Okinawa 1945/46 456th Fighter Squadron,414 Fighter Group, Okinawa 1945/46 * First two are in the pearl grey paint applied to the first P-80A aircraft and wasn't used for very long as it didn't last in the field. Trailing was picked off of AvWeb's Flash e-zine this morning: The Naval Air Station at Belle Chase regularly uses New Iberia, LA (KARA) as a refueling stop. I was flying my Piper PA‑32 into KARA to get fuel for myself and contacted the Tower. Tower: “Piper Three Five Eight One Whiskey, enter a left base for Runway 34. You are following two F‑18s on a 15‑mile final.” I saw the jets and could tell that if I kept my current speed I would be close to their jet wash. Me: “Eight One Whiskey, left base for 34, slowing down for the F‑18s.” F‑18 pilot: “In your dreams.”

Edited the F-16 JSON file to achieve a much less metallic/shiny appearance. Also converted to DDS format and added Splinter and Blizzard skins. Hoping to upload this weekend.
