1 pointI have replaced my Warthog stick with a VKB MCG Pro, which has been great. But I have been getting the itch to make progress on making a more complete F-4 cockpit experience in anticipation of the future DCS World F-4E that may be only a year or two or three away. I have throttle handles, the panel with the slots and brushes where the throttle protrude, and the panels to either side on the way. I have a Warthog throttle that "bricked", so I am finally going to order a board and try to fix it, then hopefully use it as the base for making an F-4 throttle. I have two Warthog sticks as a result of buying a replacement for the broken throttle, so I am thinking about adapting it to my real F-4 stick so I don't have to clean pots like a did the last time I used the real F-4 stick. Alternatively, I may buy another VKB grip and gut it to adapt an extra B-8 grip I have to fit on the VKB stick. I may end up with two sim pits, one dedicated F-4 pit and one designed to be reconfigured to support several DCS aircraft. The F-4 pit would be in front of my PC and the generic/adaptable pit would be in front of my son's PC. I just need to upgrade his gpu or better yet build a new PC for me and give him my current PC. Just a matter of time and money along with some creative engineering.

1 pointSpot the SF screenshot. https://hushkit.net/2019/02/13/phantom-pregnancies-f-4-variants-that-never-were/ Everyone loves the F-4 Phantom, a brutal smoking Cold War monster that polluted the sky in an apocalyptic belch of black sooty thunder. As thrilling as the actual Phantoms that entered service were, there is a tantalising family of F-4s that almost made it into the real world. Several of them were cancelled for being too good and threatening sales of newer aircraft — and one succeeded in its role as a unique test aircraft. Here are some of the Phantoms that never were.

1 pointOkay, i searched my archive and found something. MiG-21bis acceleration time from Mach 0.5 to Mach 0.9 was 21 seconds time for 360° curve in 1.000m 27 seconds in 4.500m 48 seconds in 9.000m 78 seconds initial turn rate 23° sustainable turn rate 13.3° The flaps of MiG-21F-13, PF and U were modified Fowlerflaps. In german we called it "Spaltklappen", slotted flaps. Flaps setting for takeoff was 24.5°, landing 44.5° From MiG-21PFS onward the flaps were "Scharnierklappen mit Grenzschichtbeeinflussung". Blown flaps with fixed rotation axis. Flap setting were 25° for take off and 45° for landing. The airflow for the border layer blowing system came from the compressor of the engine. It was activated by the pilot by pressing a button (IIRC). It was operational only when the afterburner was not activated. Switching on the NB would automatically switch of the BLC. The flaps of the MiG-21 were pushed in by the driving wind at a speed of 340 km/h. I'm not sure, wheter it was meant that it began with 340 km/h or that the flaps were fully pushed in at 340 km/h. I think the first idea is correct.

1 pointComing soon ;-) Standart RAF GR.1 strike plane with 3 subversions as 1 download : - early batch 2 planes with Mk.101 engines - RAF batch 3 and up - Saudi GR.1. I'm updating now cockpits with weapon control panels and some lifts for HUD (same as IDS version). When baffmaister will finish his magic with flight model upgrades, I'll update all planes to 1.1 . Thank you guyz for all reported bugs. I hope, I can remove them before update. I'll try anyway ;-)

1 point@bazillius To answer to your question made in the review, have a look at this other mod I made: https://combatace.com/files/file/16900-strike-fighters-wings-over-world-menu-screens/ You'll find the sound file you want to silence in the Flight folder, it should be Loading.wav. With my mod, the loading sound is still that of a jet engine, but a longer one.

1 pointYes, the beauty of FE/FE2 is that, unlike SF and SF2, these two are largely cross-compatible. Most info. applicable to FE2 is applicable to FE/FEgold, except for some directory paths for file installation, and I think that FE/FEgold do not have a separate "user directory" as does FE2. Even most plane types made specifically for FE2 are backward compatible with FE (Crawford has figured out an ini trick to get FE2 aircraft loaded in FE....I think he posted some of the info. under the "new aircraft" thread...somewhere around page 20 of that thread). And most FE aircraft are flyable in FE2 (only thing requiring tweaking is usually decal placement and decal files). I fly several FE-era aircraft in FE2 with no problems. Happy flying, Von S

1 pointThat is my WSO. He isn't very good at operating the radar or navigating, but he barks at anything that moves or makes a sound and stays by my side as long as he is fed a steady diet of treats.

1 pointI think you might have a problem with that cockpit. Your comm/IFF/nav control panel on the right side has a distinct case of doggy eyes. If you are not careful it will convince you to let it eat all of your survival rations before you even reach the target area.
