2 pointsHe better should have written "Lightning" instead to try a word by word translation of the german nickname of this bird. It was called "Gabelschwanzteufel" by the Luftwaffe pilots. O is for Osprey

2 pointsL is for "Forked-tail devil", a highly-publicized (and very expensive!) P-38F:

2 pointsNever mind I got it working it is something new I learned as I am not good with data files. I had the missile entry as the following [ASPIDE01] SystemType=MISSILE GunnerID=6 MissileID=1 WeaponTypeName=ASPIDE_SAM WeaponPosition=-1.059,-60.232,9.122 /WeaponPosition=-1.059,-58.232,9.122 ShowMissile=TRUE IndependentPitchMovement=FALSE ReloadCount=1 ReloadTime=4.0 inseted of [ASPIDE01] SystemType=MISSILE GunnerID=6 MissileID=1 WeaponTypeName=ASPIDE_SAM WeaponPosition=-1.059,-60.232,9.122 /WeaponPosition=-1.059,-58.232,9.122 ShowMissile=TRUE IndependentPitchMovement=TRUE ReloadCount=1 ReloadTime=4.0 in-game test

1 pointGentlemen - I apologize for coming in so late on this, but in Real Life™ the garage door would very probably be open in this situation. If not, the LSO would instead be located on an upper deck to allow him a quick exit from the flight deck area in the event of a problem. Note below - while not the best focus and resolution (and age probably hasn't helped, either!), you can see the LSO on the centerline and the door is open as an escape route:

1 pointBut IRST is totally passive, while radar is not. Nice method to add it into the game Crazy!

1 pointVery good advice and applies to all sims I have ever played Takes effort to train yourself so you might find most casual gamers cant be bothered.

1 pointWhy do you keep referring to your supposed real life experiences when this is a WWI sim we're discussing, not your real life? Why do you stick by your opinion (i.e. my lack of gunnery skills) based upon one specific video clip of mine when I have put out 4-5 others which disprove this ? Perhaps you could start a thread with some videos of someone with good skills shooting down a SPAD or Se5a. Then I could see what you are talking about, just like you can see thru my videos that the loop works very well. Btw my flight model is set to realistic, Head Shake is on, Wind Effects Player is on, Main Guns is set to Normal - how about you ? The reason why I specifically mention SPADs and Se5as is because as a rule they can leave an encounter when it suits them, which makes them very difficult opponents. Your opinion on checking six seems to be the same as your opinion regarding the loop: that is, you have one, but it is not based upon experiences with WOFF. My experience is that 99% of the time it is more productive to concentrate on shooting down the enemy you have 'locked onto' than to check one's six. (But I suspect that most people will disagree with me.) To make it clear, I'm very much in favor of checking six, but not while I'm busy trying to shoot down an enemy.

1 pointNope didn't miss that at all, it's in parentheses in your OP...I read it, comprehended what you wrote, and watched your video three times. And just to add to the discussion, IRL that specific remark would be called "an alibi" by fighter pilots looking at your HUD video. That's why I specifically posted, "if your first video is representative of your gunnery skills, then checking six is a good idea." I stick by that observation based upon your OP video. IMO if you don't check six when engaged that is a recipe for a short SP career but, you PLAY the way you want to play.

1 pointMy pilot went hunting for stragglers after a furball with some black-tailed V-strutters and spotted a flight of DFWs forming up. He attacked, shooting down two: Notice this aircraft is still carrying its ordnance and that the observer is slumped over his gun.

1 pointBack to the beginning for anyone who missed a chance to contribute first time round. Remember: - One aircraft per letter - You should be using the aircraft name, nickname or codename if possible, not the manufacturer unless there is no alternative. so: Avro Lancaster would be L Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet would be J Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker would be F Boeing 707 would be B All clear? OK, lets play... A is for Apache

1 pointYou can fake a IRST by mounting a non- lauching IRM in the nose. Just select it like a any other weapon. If you have a HUD it will show up as IRM LOCK icon. Other than that the only other cue you will get is the IRM Audio CUE. On your "Fake ISRT/IRM" you have too extend the seeker range too match the detection range of your IRST. I have done this before. It does work but using your radar is better.
