Built as a successor to the PBM Mariner, it had better engines, an improved hull, and a single vertical fin tail. The P5M-1 was followed by 116 P5M-2 planes. These had a T-tail to put the tail surfaces out of the spray, an AN/ASQ-8 MAD boom at the rear of the tail-tip, no tail guns (the gun position replaced by he antenna for the AN/APN-122 Doppler Navigation Set), better crew accommodation, and an improved bow to reduce spray during takeoff and landing. 2 pointsRepublic P-43A-2 Lancer - No.1 Squadron, Royal Dhimari Air Force, 1942 Delays with the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 engine intended for the new P-47 Thunderbolt meant that orders were placed for an additional 200 P-43 Lancer fighter aircraft in order to keep the Republic production lines operating whilst waiting for P-47 production to start. Of this additional batch of 200 P-43 Lancers, 54 P-43's were allocated to the USAAC, 125 P-43A-1s were allocated to China (under the lend-lease program) with the balance of 21 aircraft being allocated to Dhimar as P-43A-2's. These were eagerly received by a desperate Royal Dhimari Air Force who wasted no time in re-equipping No.1 Squadron during the Spring of 1942 and also the High-Altitude Reconnaissance Flight where the P-43's excellent high-altitude performance enabled it to regularly fly above 40,000ft. In Dhimari service, the Lancer was well regarded and this led Royal Dhimari Air Force officials to push for P-47 Thunderbolts in preference to other types of fighter. Skin Credit: Charles

1 pointA runway is not LONG, MEDIUM etc because YOU consider it's enough LOL. It has a designation in airstrip files (TERRAINNAME_targets.ini file, see the pictures!) ! If it says there that it's a SHORT one, and in your plane's file it says it needs a MEDIUM one, the game will crash. That was what I was saying. Take a careful look to how things are going in the following phrases please. This is the short rundown to have a picture in your mind about airstrip sizes: Sizes for runaways (See targets.ini file in each terrain!) runaway 1 (MEDIUM - 2500m) runaway 2 (MEDIUM SMALL* - 2500m) runaway 3 (SMALL - 1200m) runaway 4 (LARGE - 3000m) runaway 5 (MEDIUM - 2500m) runaway 6 (MEDIUM - 2500m) Game, the whole game, has archives hulks ("CAT" extensions). In it , except planes 3D models and sounds (I think !?) you can find EVERYTHING this game has, from decals to terrains. There is a special archive software , you can find it in the download section (make a little research on your own if you want to learn things nad make , generally, things easier for you). The TERRAINNAME_target.ini file, for EACH MAP, is in the X:\...\StrikeFighters2\Terrains\TERRAINNAME folder! Data for each aircraft is in its AIRCRAFTNAME_DATA.INI file ! Look for the line: MinBaseSize=MEDIUM/SMALL/LARGE (There will be just one of them, not all three!) It's tough isn't it ? And you ain't seen nothing yet...:D

Canadair CF-104S "Super Starfighter" (what If...) by Wrench 2/10/2023 -- For SF2, Full 5 Merged REQUIRED -- *** Please note: your game's mod folder/install =MUST= have access to the stock 3rd Wire CF-104_76 Starfighter to make use of the mod. You must ALSO have access to the A-7D_75 as this mod makes use of that cockpit. Hence, the "FUll 5 Merged requirement. *** This is a modification of the stock CF-104_76 into a "What If..." CF-104S Super Starfighter of the Canadian Forces, Royal Norwegian Air Force, and Royal Danish Air Force. The mod is supplied with 5 skins, 2 of which are "generic" for Any Other Users You Can Think Of (tm). CAFCamo - a 2-tone dark Euro style (no squadron affiliation) RDAF - Dark Green Overall (Esk 726) RNoAF - Light, "Air Superority Grey" Overall (Skv 331) For Other Users: Standard European 2-tone camo Standard "SEA" type 3-tone camo All markings are decals, and the serial numbers are based off the CAF style post 1980s. 24 serials are supplied for each skin, excepting the Euro & SEA which share the same pool of 24 serials (which just happens to be historically correct CF-104 serials). Decal Randomization is TRUE. With the use of 'all decals' for markings, the 2 generic skins are easily re-badged for any other Friendly Nation (tm) that might have recieved these Super Zippers (see notes for more backstory). All skins have individual Hangar Screens. All are in jpg format. This is a "full use" aircraft; it is speced for medium range missiles (Sparrow, Aspide, Skyflash), Sidewinders, and all manner of air-to-ground weapons. THis is a full strike fighter, minus the RCAF/CAF's nuclear mission for NATO. It's cleared for use with all NATO, UK and USAF weapons. Be advised, the DRAF/CF use the same anti-ship missile, while the RNoAF uses it's own Penguin. Most weapons used are stock in-game items, excepting the "F104S pylon set". This has been edited to not conflict with the AMI or Turkish F-104S series. Other weapons are included; of these, all have had the 'end of service/export years' extended to at least 2045. All items have been included for ease of installation. Excepting those items who's LODs we can't access (cockpit!). Ini's do the trick.
