First flight! VonS sent me a test FM last night, so I built a new folder this morning with the new model. Still lots of tweaking needed, but the damn thing works! Click shots for hi-res image.

Most of the best modders in the community have agreed to make their work freely available with few restrictions. These modders have granted blanket permission for you to use their work under the following conditions: 1. The work may not be used in payware projects or in projects that will not be freely distributed under these same terms. 2. The work may not violated any terms of release by converting payware to freeware or freeware to payware. 3. You must give proper credit to the original author in your readme file. 4. If feasible, included the original author's readme along with your new mod file. 5. You must contact the original author for permission of use if more than 30% of the original release is affected by your work. 6. A Mirage Factory file may not be altered or included in a new mod with the permission from a Mirage Factory Member. 7. Any scenery or map tile modifications by Wrench require permission to edit, change, or use. 8. Any uploads of mods to Dev A-Team products are limited to ini edits, and skins/decals. They have requested that NOTHING of theirs be stored or shared or passed around outside their own members-only website. Mirage F1CE (1975-1987) This mod is dedicated to BPAO, nothing would have been possible without him. In June 1975, with tension growing with Morocco, Spain decided to strengthen its Air Force and bought 15 Mirage F1C that were allocated to Albacete AB. In mid-1976 there was still some tension with Morocco and Algerian and Libyan MiG-25 flights on the Mediterranean, which would lead the Spanish Air Force to purchase ten more Mirage F1C and two years later order 48 Mirage F1C and F1E. F1CE_Early specifics: - no 550, AIM-9 SW instead - R530, no S530F, CLB4 - no radio-altimeter - Seat Mk4 Covered units : Ala 14, 141° Escuadron. A big thank to all on Combatace and C6 forums that helped us solving issues we encountered. Any omission in credits is totally unwanted, if I forgot somebody, let me know, I will correct this. This addon is and will in all cases remain freeware. Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms. Enjoy The Mirage F-1 Team.

Over morning coffee, I thought I'd expand on making realistic artwork for aircraft. Buried in most every aircraft production contract is an obscure section titled "Gaps and Seams." A gap is the interval between the airframe and a removable panel or opening door. A seam is the interval between two sections of skin attached to the airframe. The section specifies the dimensional tolerances for both - clearly the interval between seams is much tighter than the interval for panels/doors. Indeed, seams are so close together that the human eye cannot resolve the joint at the distance most computer game models are viewed at. There are always exceptions, but usually you do not want to paint lines on your artwork to show seams - only paint lines to show gaps. Lots of pixels are mandatory so the artwork should be large enough to show gaps only one pixel wide. Seams are realistically shown with changes in color or changes in lightness/darkness, not painted lines. Click on shots below for hi-res image.

Major overhaul of P-40 markings and theater bands etc. Serial numbers are different to aircraft numbers on the cowling as the cowling number was given in theater depending on the servicing unit the aircraft was assigned to. P-40E Home Defense Squadrons (including Tonga and Fiji) P-40K Operational Squadrons (Guadalcanal/ Solomon Islands etc) P-40M Operational Squadrons (Guadalcanal/ Solomon Islands etc) Single P-40L delivered to the RNZAF by mistake, however it was assembled in New Zealand and flown briefly before it was shipped back to the USA. P-40N Operational Squadrons (Guadalcanal/ Solomon Islands etc) and OTU (Operational Training Unit) Squadrons 488 (NZ) Squadron Buffalo Mk.I defending Singapore (in vain) 488 (NZ) Squadron Hurricane Mk.IIb (Buffalo loss replacments) defending Singapore at the bitter end PBY-5
