This aircraft comes complete with everything needed, and has skins that represent the following units, as is my habit one East Coast and one West Coast based units: 960th AEW&C Sqdn, 551st AEW&CW, Otis AFB, MA 963rd AEW&C Sqdn, 552nd AEW&CW, McClellan AFB, CA The aircraft is presented in two finishes; overall NMF for the 963rd, and NMF with Arctic Red (orange?) wing, nose and tail sections. Both aircraft share a pool of 26 serial number decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. I was unable to run down individual serials for the units, so these should be considered 'generic' in nature, although they ARE correct for this aircraft. When in game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown menu, you'll see: RC-121D Warning Star (R) Hopefully, will diferentiate it from any other RC-121s that you may (or may not) have, or be available. The "R" stands for RussoUK, the model maker. As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. 2 pointsFor the most authentic combat experience in terms of flyable variants, correct radar indications, weapons employment, etc. Strike Fighters 2 is by far the best sim. It comes at a price: no multiplayer and a very dated terrain engine. But with mods, SF2 still looks very good, but more importantly has absolutely everything you need to fly virtually any version of the F-4 in any of its historical combat roles. I am an F-4 Phanatic. The above screenshot shows why I never fly the F-4 in Falcon 4: look at the radar, look at the HUD. You are flying and F-16 in an F-4's skin. Unlike DCS World, Falcon 4 was designed to be only an F-16 study sim. Modders have worked wonders with it, and it is nice to have the variety of aircraft available. But contrasted against Strike Fighters 2, a so-called "lite" sim, SF2 turns out to be better in almost every way for single player if you are into F-4s. Now if you would like more detailed systems operation with clickable cockpits, you want one of the Prepar3d versions of the F-4 with TacPack installed: F-4E and/or F-4J/S from Milviz F-4B/N from Simworks Studios Those F-4s have excellent flight modeling and very detailed, realistic systems modeling comparable to DCS World. But using a civil sim to fly combat comes at a cost: limited AI support for enemies, limited sensor and weapons system modeling, and a modern global environment that is difficult to mod into a historical combat environment. I have been waiting for the DCS World F-4E that Belsimtek screenshots teased for years. DCS World combines the study sim quality of P3d F-4s with the combat environment of SF2. But it still Vietnam. The new Syria map is a nice move in the direction of showcasing Israeli air combat. Unfortunately, a DCS World F-4 of any kind is still probably two or more years away from early access downloading.

TU_160 Blackjack - Cold War version for SF2 series project by UllyB The Tupolev Tu-160, NATO reporting name: Blackjack) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing heavy strategic bomber designed by the Tupolev Design Bureau in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. It is the largest and heaviest Mach 2+ supersonic military aircraft ever built and second only to the XB-70 Valkyrie in overall length. It is the largest and heaviest combat aircraft, the fastest bomber now in use and the largest and heaviest variable-sweep wing airplane ever flown. Entering service in 1987, the Tu-160 was the last strategic bomber designed for the Soviet Union. As of 2016, the Russian Air Force's Long Range Aviation branch has at least 16 aircraft in service. The Tu-160 active fleet has been undergoing upgrades to electronics systems since the early 2000s. The Tu-160M modernization programme has begun with the first updated aircraft delivered in December 2014. ************************************************************************************************************* TU-160[ColdWar] test package readme (Baffmeister observations & conclusions) This test package requires the addition of the Cockpit folder, Skin folder, and Aircraft Lods to work properly. MODEL ISSUES: No model animation ID for the leading edge flaps. They are presently set up on a rotation axis but they don't look very good so it is probably better to just disable them for the release version. The real TU-160 probably used a combination of ailerons, spoilers and differential H-stab deflections for roll control but only ailerons are available at present. The H-stab is built as one piece so no way to get the differential H-stab deflections functioning. WEAPON ISSUES: Slightly modified KH-15 nuclear tipped missle included. The base quantity was increased from 4 to 6 to match the present capacity of AGM missle bay. The maximum capacity is 12 on the real Tu-160 but considering the effect on frame rates with so many nukes going off 6 might even be to many. Maybe 2 per plane would be enough. The maximum of 12 would be a good option for later versions with conventional warheads. When carrying conventional bombs the accuracy is very poor which is typical for Bombers in game. Maybe someone could put together a "semi smart" bomb that the AI can use that would improve accuracy. BOMB BAY ISSUES: The original was set up with both manual doors and automatic doors to operate the rotary launcher. I don't think that can be made to work so just using manual doors. DATE RANGE: For testing the start date is set to 1986 so you can fly F-14 intercepts on the TW Iceland NA terrain. The actual service entry date for the first TU-160 version was April, 1987. AVAILABILITY: Probably should be RARE or VERY_RARE for a release version but set to VERY_COMMON for test version. Should only take a few trys to get an F-14 intercept against the TU-160 on the Iceland NA terrain. ANTI-SHIP ISSUES: When doing player flown ANTI-SHIP missions I haven't been able to get the AI to successfully "Attack My Target". They can't seem to get within the firing parameters for the KH-15 Missile and end up flying around in circles. It's possible to get them to do an attack if you lead them around first and line them up outside 10KM before giving the "Attack My Target" command. FLIGHT MODEL AND DATA INI ISSUES: The flight model still needs work as do the min/max extents, damage modeling and collision points. *************************************************************************** *The model has Triple dragchute as in the real aircraft and has one historical skin made . Also the model has proper crew windows and proper crew positions inside the plane. *************************************************************************** TO INSTALL: - unzip all in main mod folder CREDITS: project manager - UllyB design, 3D modelling, skin, swing wing & other animations, decals, hangar & loadout pics - AngelP FM tweaking & other corrections- Baffmeister cockpit - B-1B bomber cockpit - Dels weapons tweaking & tester - Baffmeister project supervising - Baffmeister & Yakarov79 Special thanks to Stratos, 76IAP-Blackbird and Logan4 for support, help and ideas Special thanks to this wonderful community who gave me ...wings and courage in all these long years. *************************************************************************************************************** I pledge that I will continue the work to this plane bringing, from time to time, upgrades but it will take a while so please be patient. -

1 pointSF2 has never left my hard drive. I can't stand the FSX/P3d environment, so I rarely fly it. But I primarily fly DCS World. I do fly SF2 every now and then for all the aircraft it has that DCS World doesn't: the F-4, century series, F2H-2, etc. While the F-4s will work without TacPack, they work far better with TacPack. You lose a lot of systems functionality if you don't have TacPack. Unfortunately, P3d keeps making major version changes that break TacPack. VRS ends up releasing newer versions of TacPack, but the workload is so high, they usually end up charging for an upgrade to support major P3d version changes. The F-4E and F-4J/S are much more modern and multi-role compared to the F-4B. So, if you want a less complex aircraft to fly, the F-4B is your plane, though it comes with the option to fly updated versions of the F-4B and the F-4N, which is much closer to the F-4S standard. Not accounting for price, you should get the one you like the most because they are all very good. But with the Milviz products there are different price tiers. Besides the option to buy TacPack support, you also may want to buy the advanced flight model package. The F-4B comes with everything for that one low price. No extra fee for TacPack support. No extra fee for a better flight model. So, once you include cost-effectiveness, the F-4B is the way to go. Only having flight manual performance charts for reference, I can't say whether the F-4B or the Milviz F-4s have the better flight model. The Milviz advanced flight model seems more detailed, but then it also exhibits some weird behavior that doesn't fit my understanding of the F-4's stability. It would be a matter of personal preference whether you think one feels better or is more accurate. So you are asking me would I rather go fly over Europe, Vietnam, and Israel with the F-4B/C/D/E/EJ/F/G/J/K/M/N/S (G and S are user mods) facing aggressive SAMs, AAA. and MiGs or take a scenic tour of the modern world while popping airliners with AIM-9s and AIM-7s, I have I have only one answer: SF2. Some people like yourself that never upgraded from the SFP1/WoX series have recently bought it when the entire package of games/DLC was on sale (twice). The ones that have posted about it were pleasantly surprised at all the improvements that SF2 offers for the loss of the limited DirectPlay multiplayer implementation. The F-4 is one of the best examples. Each major variant, i.e. the F-4B, has several minor variants reflecting production blocks and field changes typically in the form of adding new RWR and/or ECM equipment, which also means updated unique cockpits. The F-4D started production with a slick nose (no RWR). Early updates added the chin pod back to house a RWR antenna. The final variants had a bug-eyed monster of a chin pod for all the new antennas. SF2 models all of these. But like the original SF1 series, there were countless patches along the way and while each patch fixed some issues, they typically caused a few more. But the sim has been stable for years and you need to fly the final patch to support all of the DLC and expansion packs as well as SF2NA. So, everyone knows what the bugs are and some people have found workarounds for many of the issues that remain.

1 pointHello Russo, thanks for your offer ! I took a look in the cat files and I don't find anything. It would be perfect to have a high detailed seat, If you accept to share your work, I will be glad integrate it in our Mirage. If it's needed, Denis can rework the 3D model and I can work on the texture.

1 pointIts a nice docu. But there are some mistakes. First the Mi-2 was not the first turbine helicopter of the USSR. First came the Mi-6, then the Mi-8 and then the Mi-2. The Mi-8 chapter was much to short. Its the most important helicopter of the soviets. It was the basic for developing the Mi-14 ASW helicopter and the Mi-24 and later the Mi-17. The most astonishing fact is, that neither military nor political leadership wanted to have the Mi-8 (W-8 called as project and as prototype). They were satisfied with Mi-4. The main problem was Khrustchev, who was not a fan of helicopters, he loved rockets and missiles. Mil used some tricks to get the W-8 program to live. He sold the idea to the civil air fleet and this guys were impressed. So the W-8 developmend started. First with only one engine, the same which was used in AN-24 airplane. This was a demand of the military, which woked up and was now intersted in W-8 too. But Mil had a better idea, he wanted to have two engines made by Isotov, the TV2-117. The civil airfleet agreed. So the civil prototype was built with 2 engines, the military with one engine. During flight tests the two engine version showed much better performance. Now the military cancled the single engine W-8 program and wanted a 2 engine version too. So the Mi-8 was born. In the docu was said, that the soviet military doctrine was against a pure combat helicopter like the AH-1 or AH-56. This is wrong. In the Khrustchev time armed and combat helicopter were "forbiten" from above. Khrustchev hated this idea. When Breshnev came to rule, the combat helicopter development was started. But with a strategy of small steps. In the first step the Mi-8 was basic for development of a "transport combat helicopter", the later Mi-8TB and Mi-8TV. In a second step a "flying infantry fighting vehicle" was developed. This step was made because the development risks of a completly new design were to high. So the Mi-8 was basic for Mi-24 development. As many parts of the Mi-8 as possibly were used in Mi-24. Parallel to Mi-24 development, the development and testing of a real combat helicopter was started. There were a couple of design studies. (One looked like a small Mi-12.) After long years the Mi-28 was born. Today the Mi-28NM is in serial production.

SF2 Lockheed WV-2/EC-121K Pack by RussoUK 8/20/2020 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods" This package contains a new aircraft, the Lockheed WV-2/EC-121K Warning Star Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft as used by the US Navy. This aircraft comes complete with everything needed, and has skins that represent the following units, as is my habit one Atlantic and one Pacific based units: VW-1 "Typhoon Hunters", based at Barbers Point HI & NAS Agana, Guam VW-11, based at NAS Argentia, NFLD The aircraft is presented in two finishes; overall DGNB (VW-11), and DGNB with the anti-heat white upper fuselage (VW-1). Both aircraft have 18 BuNum (serial number) decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. On the Numbers.lst, any marked with a star (*) are 100% historicaly correct for that unit, and have been matched to their Modex number. Those not marked should be considered 'generic' in nature. When in game, on the Aircraft Selection Dropdown menu, you'll see: WV-2/EC-121K Warning Star (R) Hopefully, will diferentiate it from any other EC-121s that you may (or may not) have, or be available. The "R" stands for RussoUK, the model maker. The "WV-2" was the original designation when the aircraft was placed in service in 1954. It was renumbered to "EC-121" in the early 1960s, during the "Great McNamara Renaming & Consolidation" of all US military aircraft.
