8 pointsFor now, I am focusing on the regular armies of the Warsaw Pact and then a few countries that fit into my over Israel, over Iran mod. But also regular armies. Such inferior formations like ISIL and similar have absolutely my disrespect as groups not lead by any code, morals, principals, etc - meaning I am not gonna waste my time for those (even if it is just a game). Meanwhile... finally finished OSA-AKM. and some missiles for it.

4 pointsAnd it's not the biggest problem ;-) Main one is .. how many publications, so many blueprints ;-) I finally compiled one using 'compare to photos' method ;-)

3 pointsAbsolutely double check save quality when saving in JPG. Many software save in JPG but with standard quality, which heavily degrades the quality of the texture you've made. High quality JPGs will weigh less than a BMP, but will weigh more than a standard JPG. BMPs weigh more but are loaded faster by this game engine. JPGs require more time, despite the lower file size.

2 pointsThose of us who have designed web pages also learned other skills to optimize graphics ... if you use photoshop there is an option to "save for web" in it you can optimize the weight and quality of a jpg to the maximum ... for example textures from AV -8 of jarek ultra mega detailed (4096x4096) I left them converted to 1 mb without losing detail that is noticeable to the naked eye (ah also has a 2-view preview to compare the configuration and there you can be very demanding in your results). .. I converted all its textures and my pc was the happiest XD

2 pointsIMHO you can also use JPG, but as I said, make sure to save it with maximum quality. In Photoshop you have a slider, it is usually set to 7, while the maximum quality is 12.
-
2 pointsI always use JPG myself, it is smaller in file size , and I think you get a much better resolution out of it as well , a good example is bring a model across from FE and duplicate it, change one of them into a JPG , as the default for FE is BMP , then convert one of the models into JPG , then suck it and see what I mean matey............This is why I wish JPG's worked in FE

2 pointsand he'll STILL need the VNSEA _water.bmp to enable CV ops. you can't just add a single line to the ini. ------- and the question still needs to be answered if all the necessary ships are resident in the /GroundObjects folder.

1 pointThe terrain may be flat, but that does not suffice. You need to make sure that the tag value of the tiles is set to 0, you can see it via TFDtool. If tiles' tags are not set to 0, you can easily tweak the values with the latest version of TFDtool.

1 pointTry xform reset on it...recentre pivot and re-export...as you know pivot set to base of object ;)

1 pointis the runway region (the terrain) completly flat?? As in the "flatten airfield" function of the terrain editor. What little I know of MAX (and it's VERY little), is if it shows correctly in your view, it should (the operative word!) be ok in game I've seen that "floating" number thing even on stock runways when the terrain is not flattened

1 pointYes, Torno's are legit models. He did/does them hisself. When they get released, however, is up for grabs. He pretty much works alone, and in what little spare time he can find

1 pointmy bf109f jpg 1024x1024 is 698kb bmp is 3mb...and takes longer to load 4 planes...about 15 seconds more...for bmp...and I use paintshop pro 7.4 to do my jpegs.

1 pointSome JPG of 4096X4096 with 12MB turn out to a mere 414KB and still 4096X4096 with the SAME quality. There´s a tool wich is fantastic for the job - the "File Converter". It can convert all BMP at once in a bunch. Don´t need to convert one by one. Highly recommended!
-
1 pointThe JPG not only saves a lot of space but improves the framerate as well. I always change every bmp to jpg without losing quality saving as 12.
-
1 pointThis is what I was doing all along, saving my files JPG and quality set to 12, I think I will just keep doing what I was doing.
-
1 pointwhy I never did a tonka...its a busy model...lots to make etc...lol...looking good G

1 pointYes, what you suggest is possible. I did it with the canopy bow in the cockpit of the Mitsubishi F-2. The main issue you might get is with the clipping distance. Depending on how close the items are to the PoV they may disappear as you pan around the cockpit. Also, you'll get the standard issues with the open cockpit (smoke inside the cockpit). Dels

1 pointindeed, there's PLENTY of AAA/SAMs in the stock game.
-
1 pointYou can disable the view pitch and yaw limit in the VIEWLIST.INI with [ViewClass002] ViewClassName=CockpitViewClass ... LimitPitch=FALSE LimitYaw=FALSE
-
1 pointAnd in fact, your wingman/flight is controlled by the same 01010101 as the enemy so...they know things...
-
1 pointThere are and for many years but they are waiting for me to make them some time to be able to share them (it is not necessary to clarify to anyone that they are our own models, very impressive at the time), they are the ones we created with the Banidos Team of the fifth generation.
