5 pointsHello everyone, Just to let everyone know, I am discontinuing the Dhimar vs. Paran project. Instead, I am working on an entirely new project that creates two new fictional nations from an alternative world. That way, I can write the new story afresh instead of expanding an existing nations. It does not feel right replacing everything that an author of SF2 has written initially about Dhimar and Paran. UPDATE: The information is posted at the 2nd page.

2 pointsMay i suggest F-86Ks? License built out of the US since around 1955, a good compromise. With Sidewinders and 4x20mm I would feel more confident than with FFARs

2 pointsIt was possible, it required very specific editing and was super finicky to get to work, but it could be done in the long, long ago times. Around a decade ago (maybe longer), from what I can remember, it was possible to set a positive fuel state with a specific throttle setting by editing the fuel consumption setting for the engines in an aircraft's ini file. There are others more adept than myself who could explain how it worked, but it's a moot point because TK patched it out around 2011/12ish, possibly earlier. I can't remember if it was something that was carried over to the SF2 series, but I know for it was possible in the first generation series because there were some Yankee Air Pirates missions that included it... ...I think. I mean, it was a long-ass time ago and I can barely remember sh*t I did yesterday. Either way, if IFR is something you're looking for, you'll have to look somewhere other than the SF series.

2 pointsAir refueling does not exist in SF2; by design the game features scaled terrains which are roughly 60% of their Real World size. Modders had fun creating animations of refueling probes etc. for addon aircraft including tankers, but tankers are treated just like any other transport aircraft of the game, meaning that they never spawn flying in game generated missions, aside from campaigns where that may happen. Beating a dead horse here, air refueling is not a thing in this game and never will.

1 pointI Did a load of early Paran/Dhimar aircraft a couple of years back, with historical aircraft from WWI on, through to WWII and beyond, some of those may be useful to you ?

1 pointthere were only 10 Gunvals ever built *, and the USAF sure as hell wouldn't pass them along to some yahoos. Also, they had lots of issues, airframe and weapons wise. . You'd be better off using the Aussie Mk.32. Or maybe surplus de-navalized FJ-3s Also, all the "A" models that survived combat, came back to the States, were sent directly to Air Guard units. Even in a fantasy world, they were never exported (high time, overstressed airframes, old tech). Best to stick with Canadian manufactured "Es" they got exported everywhere (CL-13) Frontline Sabre Dogs also most likely werent be released to export market unitl 1960 (think Japan and Yugoslavia). As it's radar tech timed out (re: obsoleted). Even the JASDF used ex-USAF ones, and were never home-built. Might want to look at 1stGen jets of British (Vampire/Venom/Hunter) and French (Ouragon, Mystre) origins. (*I should know ... I did them)

1 pointit really has a LOT of flaws in it ... props are fucked up (fast and slow are not aligned to the axis), some other things I don't remember I'll look it over again, see what I think. below, remember these images are VERY old, dating from 2016. Yeah, that's HOW long this bird has been sitting around

1 pointNice shots pal. One from me, took on a Nieuport with a good paint scheme and managed to down him and then recognised the pilot as Paul Tarascon, great skin whoever made that one.

1 pointView File Mirage F-1CJ Mirage F-1CJ. This mod is dedicated to BPAO, nothing would have been possible without him. Royal Jordanian Air Force received 17 F1CJ, 17 F1EJ & 2 F1BJ Specificities : - Radar Cyrano IVM. - RWR. Covered unit : N°25 Squadron A big thank to all on Combatace and C6 forums that helped us solving issues we encountered. Any omission in credits is totally unwanted, if I forgot somebody, let me know, I will correct this. This addon is and will in all cases remain freeware. Released under CombatAce Fair-Use terms. Enjoy The Mirage F.1 Team ! Submitter ludo.m54 Submitted 06/17/2014 Category Mirage F1

1 pointwell we have soldiers. and if requested one of our active modelers might be willing to create one if you explain the mission set make a large hit box, low armor, and maybe you could set down "on" the pilot to destroy/pick them up right up the lane of yakarov's Jolly Greens......... would have to be tailor made missions so you dont take off expecting a downed pilot and get a convoy of ZSU-23s instead!
-
1 pointmuch as you wont like hearing it, yes: uninstall it. the pack was made to add missing assets to the game and to set difficulties to be between more realistic (air defenses arent gone in one mission) to criminally insane (the Russian brochure performance for the systems, where you are both super skilled and damn lucky if you survive one mission) many of our mods are not set for making the game easier; rather many modders on here either seek to be historically accurate, add things not available in stock, and make it more challenging besides, if you want to take em all out in one mission, use theold SAC method
-
1 pointWhat I did long long ago. Create a Armed Recon mission, put the downed pilot as a enemy ground object (so you can have enemy infantry firing at you, but not to the downed pilot), then "kill" the downded pilot (no damaged model on him, to simulate the pick up, get the mission accomplished and get the heck out of there. It's fun, but AFAIK the only downed pilot we had was the YAP one. I also got a modded "smoke marker" so it was even more realistic.

1 pointHello again fellow FE2-ers, Please find included below some of the latest developmental pics. from the Bleriot XI (6-cyl. Anzani powered). Swambast has been doing magnificent and detailed work on the 3D model. He is currently busy with other duties, and I will be taking a modding break during the summer - but we hope to collaborate further on the Bleriot XI over the next few months and eventually to get to the stage where I can apply an already-tested FM to this particular model. Will post here again in a few months once more things are completed. For the most part, the external model is now largely complete - we still need to look over and complete the rigging/warping wires for the wings, also some details regarding the wheel assembly - and to look over details for the cockpit (both for internal and external cockpit views). Then the FM-application stage will follow. Eventually, we hope to have a completed model ready, which our excellent skinners can as well have fun with once it is released. Cheers all and happy flying, Von S
