On this date, 27 July 1972, the McDonnell Douglas F-15A Eagle (Serial Number 71-0280) took to the air for the first time over the desert at Edwards AFB, California. (As a side note: today is also my wedding anniversary) 46 years later, with thousands of sorties flown, only 4 have been lost to enemy action and it's air to air combat record is over 100 to ZERO, the best of ANY combat aircraft in history!

I'm going to launch the submarines Guppy, Oberon and Foxtrot, this week, they are only targets for helicopters and planes, no one can expect them to attack any air or naval target and excuse my bad english.

A work in progress terrain of mine, Midway Atoll + Kure Atoll. Don't ask for any release date, still a lot of work to do with it. Mandatory screenies, scramble mission over Midway Atoll:

It's a lot of work, it's an experiment to try to make elastic wings, but I do not think it works

Show them the great and terrible "Red baron" and say that the old farts all over the world are still fighting in this game. Our FE differs from the Red Baron in the same way as the first Quake from STALKER. )))

Thanks for that info Von S and my apologies for not mentioning your realism files. I have downloaded but not installed them as yet because I am working on setting up Ojcars WW1 Redux (whole lotta downloading goin' on) and my memory about peter01 was jogged reading an old post of mine. I want to get all the aircraft loaded first before I apply your work. I also need a new joystick...keyboard flying is hard enough without adding more realism! Good luck Javigato.

You'll notice that my SSW D.I incorporates all the changes you mentioned, as well as a different shape to the rudder, and different cross-section in the fuselage. You can even see the steel tubing framework in the cockpit view. The V-struts were steel tubing, but they had a wooden fairing attached to reduce drag, so they didn't have to tape the struts like the French did. I still call it a copy because the Germans started by studying the Nieuport 17, but as you say, there were many differences in the German version.

The Pfalz artwork is nearly done. Shots taken at high noon in Gterl's excellent rework of Gepard's Vosges map. While intended for FE2, Crawford says the environmental tweaks look equally good in FE1, so the ENVIRONMENT file used in shots below is attached. Thanks to VonS, Quack74, Panama Red, and Coupi for the file tweaks. 7-26-18 ENVIRONMENTSYSTEM.rar
