    2. [Fictional] Curtiss P-40N Warhawk 'IDF'

Curtiss P-40N 'IDF' for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2

This is simple mod of Raven's P-40N20CU to give a fictional P-40N 'Warhawk' as it might have appeared in service with the newly-created Israeli Defence Force Air Force in 1948.

      BACKSTORY

Following the Israeli Declaration of Independence on May 14th, 1948 David Ben-Gurion declared the establishment of a Jewish state to be known as the State of Israel. Within two weeks the Israeli Air Force was formed mainly using foreign volunteer pilots (including many World War II veterans) flying a variety of obsolete and war surplus aircraft sourced by various means. Among these were 36 P-40N Warhawk fighter aircraft delivered in crates from the United States and alongside the Avia S-199's and Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk IX's they formed the backbone of the early Israeli Air Force.

Whilst the Warhawks were not ready to help in attempting to halt the Egyptian advance from the South during early June 1948 they were soon in operation in the close support role and also bolstered the air defences around Tel Aviv and were successful in shooting down several Egyptian Air Force DC-3's and Spitfires. The Warhawks were also tasked with escorting the handful of Israeli B-17 bombers but were mainly committed to the support of IDF ground forces. By December 1948 IDF ground forces were ready to commence Operation Assaf to take control of the Western Negev and the Warhawks helped in stopping an Egyptian counterattack and helped prevent another counterattack when a Warhawk flying an aerial reconnaissance sortie revealed Egyptian preparations and the IDF was able to launch a pre-emptive strike.

Following the ceasefire the remaining Warhawks were gathered together to re-equip No.101 who operated the type until the end of 1956 playing a minor role in Operation Kadesh by escorting Israeli Air Force DC-3s dropping Israeli paratroopers behind Egyptian lines at the Mitla Pass and Et-Tur.

      INSTRUCTIONS

      1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the P-40N_IDF folder into your Aircraft folder.

      2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the P-40N_IDF folder into your main Decals folder.

      3. From the WEAPONS folder drag and drop the AN-M81 and TANK75_IDF folders into your main Weapons folder.

At this point it might be a good idea to change the pilot to whatever you've got in your install suitable for the early post-war period.

      CREDITS

Thanks to Third Wire for the continuous improvement of a great little game/sim.

Massive thanks to Raven for creating the superb P-40N20CU 3D model and, indeed, his other P-40 models. Thanks to Raven also for the shark mouth decals - compulsory on this aircraft!!

Thanks also to the creator of the AN-M81 260 lb fragmentation bomb used here. It just looks so right.

And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community.

      Regards

    3. SF2 WW2 ETO Heinkel He 177 Greif Pak by Veltro2K

      SF2 WW2 ETO Heinkel He 177 Greif Pak 8/26/2013

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

**Note: Having SF2I Expansion Pak 1 is HIGHLY reccomended, as this references destroyed model for the 3W C-47A. If you do =NOT= have Exp1, you will NOT have the burning wreck on the ground. You will have to locate some other destroyed model for use. Also, due to modifications to various inis, this mod will probably -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me.**

This is a reissue of Veltro2K's Heinkel He 177 Greif Luftwaffe Medium Bomber. It has been partly reskinned and decaled and had some tweeking done. Much of the work is based off Cliff11's SF/Wo* 1stGen pak, with as stated, some tweeking by me. In essence, 98.6% of his work remains intact. That having been said, further tweeking may be necessary to fully bring it to SF2 levels

      All original readmes are included.

The single skin included, still in bmp format, represents II/KG 40 based in Western Europe. 26 New decals for the radio call letters (or whatever they are) have been created. Historically, I know this is FAR more than operationaly used, but it makes for a nice change. Decal randomization is set to TRUE.

Also, there's new damage textures, in DDS format.

New AvHistory Engine sounds, pilot figures, new SF2 compliant Hangar and Loading screens (in jpg format) are included. Bombs and guns are not; you should have them already. The Fritz X Glide bomb, however, is.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations. Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to this aircraft.

For those that still have the original releases, you may wish to examine THIS package before installing over said original. There have been some minor, but relevant changes.

**The aircraft herein is released in "AS IS" Condition. The source files have been lost or destroyed, and there can and WILL be no modifications to the physical model. They 'are as they is' and you must accept it with this caveat in mind. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created**

    4. SF2 WW2 Curtiss A-25A Shrike Pak

      SF2 WW2 Curtiss A-25A Shrike Pak

-- Something for the WW2 players (and What Ifers, too, maybe?...) --

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

US Army Air Force version of the USN's SB2C-1C Helldiver dive bomber.
The aircraft has been 'de-navalized', with the removal of the hook, and has non-folding wings.
Skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. Serial numbers are historically accurate for this aircraft.
All markings on this aircraft are decals. This'll give the "What Ifers" a fairly blank canvas to create other fictional land-based users.

It should be noted, this aircraft NEVER served in a combat capacity, and never left the Continental US. They were regulated to training and target-tow duties. Don't know what you're going to do with it, but here it is.

This package is complete, with the aircraft, engine sound (AvHistory). Pilot figure and weapons (including guns) are NOT included. These are reused from the various USN SB2C paks.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    5. SF2 WW2 SB2C Helldiver, "Blank" Skin Pak

      SF2 WW2 SB2C Helldiver, "Blank" Skin Pak 9/12/2013

      - For SF2 WW2 and Whenever Players -

This pak contains a set of 3 "blank" markingless skins for Veltro2K's Helldivers. They are:

      SB2C-1:

      Standard 3-tone
(note: the -1 uses a different -s map due to the 3 bladded prop)

      SB2C3 thru 5:

      Standard 3-tone
      Overall Dark Gloss Navy Blue

(The enclosed screenshot is a -5 in 3-tone. All others are identical to those already available, but minus the US Star-bar)

As stated, there are NO national or squadron markings (ie: for USN use) of any kind. This will allow skinners (and WhatIfers) to create/recrate the various squadron and national markings via decal placement. With the several skins out already, decal placement locations have pretty much all been pre-plotted. A decent skinner should easily be able to figure out any others.

As always, fairly simple install instructions are included. So, please read them.

REMINDER: these are skin maps ONLY!!! YOU will have to build the other required inis and decals.

      Happy Skinning!

    6. SF2 WW2 PTO Mitsubishi J2M Raiden (Jack) Pak

The Mitsubishi J2M Raiden "Thunderbolt" was a single-engined land-based Fighter used by the Japanese naval Air Services World War II. The Aliied reporting name was "Jack".

While this release is similiar to the Jack as used in the A-Team Skunkworks PTO AIMP, it has been slightly reworked for General Release . This is the full aircraft package, with everything needed.

Important Note: DO NOT use this mod within the Dev A-Team PTO All Inclusive Mod Pak!! You =WILL= break their campaigns . It is for use ONLY in a 'regular' PTO-centric mods folder.

      Credits:
Veltro2k for the aircraft (and A-Team Skunkworks for finalization work)

    7. SF2 WW2 Pilot Figures Pack

      SF2 WW2 Pilot Figures Pack 9/13/2013

      -- Something for Everyone --

      = For SF2, Any and All =

*Note: these pilot figure may also work in 1stGen SF/Wo*. Be advised, that at pre-08 levels,
folderized pilots won't work. YOu'll have to seperate the all out, like as was done in the Distant
      Past at 06 level*

This is a compliation of pretty much ALL the WW2 Pilot figures available for use in the various
aircraft mods now available (and by inference), and those to come.
It is a comglomeration of work dating back nearly to the very beginnings of SF modding. The names
of some of the contributors are Lost to History, but we thank them all. For those that I could
      remember, see "Credits" section below.

This pack contains some 28+ pilot and crew figures, included the "FakePilot". This is JUST
pilot/crew figures. Those "devices" that use the FakePilot method for adding radar pods, or pylons
are NOT included. Aircraft Seats are also NOT included.
See the enclosed "pilots in this pack.jpg" for the listing.

    8. SF2 WW2 PTO F6F-5 Hellcat Skins Pak

      SF2 WW2 PTO F6F-5 Hellcat Skins Pak 9/10/2013

-- Something for the PTO players --

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

Some new skins for Geo's F6F Hellcat; in particular for the F6F-5 Mod I did of it.

If you don't already have it, You can find the aircraft at the following URL:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13316-sf2-ww2-pto-f6f-hellcat-pak/

You'll also need to be sure you have the update pak installed as well (that adds a few interesting goodies), available at the following URL:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13541-sf2-ww2-faa-f6f-5-hellcat-skin-and-ini-update-pak/

I've listed these in case there are newcomers, or old timers that haven't "caught up". This is simple and basic CYA.

Again, PLEASE NOTE!!! These skins are for Geo's Hellcat =ONLY=, NOT for the DAT ones.

Skin/Decal sets included in this pack are for...

      VF-7 "Lucky 7", USS Hancock
      VF-11 "Sundowners", USS Hornet
      VF-14 "Iron Angels", USS Wasp

All aircraft carry the correct "G" system markings for the time frame.
Decal randomization is set to TRUE for all. All are in the later "Dark Gloss Navy Blue" overall finish.

They depict late(ish) war schemes (Dark Gloss Navy Blue), in particularly in last quarter of 1944, and to war's end (ie: Battle of the Phillipine Sea, and Invasion of the Phillipines timeframe.)
Each skin uses the historical WW2 squadron patch as the paint chip, seen on the Loadout Screen.

A slightly tweeked data ini is also included, as I changed the pilot's position slightly to remove a clipping issue on the canopy rail. Make SURE you have the update pack listed above installed FIRST before appling this new data ini!!!

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too.

    9. SF2 WW2 Curtiss SB2C-3 Helldiver Pak

      SF2 WW2 Curtiss SB2C-3 Helldiver Pak 9/10/2013

-- Something for the PTO players --

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

      A new variant of Veltro2K's SB2C Helldiver.

This package represents SB2C-3 Helldiver US Navy Dive Bombers in the mid/late 1944 configuration. There is actually not much external difference between the 3, 4 and 5 models, but I thought it would be nice to have the mid-mark variant. This mod was started in sping 2103 and got lost in some file shuffeling. So, here it is completed.

This is a complete aircraft/skin/decal set, minus the weapons and pilot figures. These are all reused from the various other Helldiver packs I've released. The aircraft are finished in the standard Mid-1944 3-tone scheme.

Skin/Decal sets included in this pack are for...

      VB-7, USS Hancock

      VB-14, USS Wasp

As seen during the time frame of the Battle of the Phillipine Sea, and operations over the Phillipines. The historical WW2 squadron patchs, for each squadron, are used for the paint chip on their respective skins seen on the Loadout Screen.

Skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. Other than the painted on national markings, all others are decals. This included the Modex and CVW "G" System symbols.

New to this mod are DDS format damage textures, replacing the tga type. These can easily be used on any other of the SB2C variants now available, with minimal editing of their main inis.
The Standard Animations Keystroke ™ are used for the wingfold, Shift/9. The pilot and gunner's canopies remains linked to gear retraction/extension.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.

    10. Morane-Saulnier M.S.406

The M.S.406 was a French Armée de l'Air fighter aircraft built by Morane-Saulnier starting in 1938. Numerically, it was France's most important fighter during the opening stages of World War II.

Although sturdy and highly manoeuverable, it was under-powered and weakly armed when compared to its contemporaries. Most critically, it was out-performed by the Messerschmitt Bf 109E during the Battle of France. The M.S.406 held its own in the early stages of the war (the so-called Phoney War), but when the war restarted in earnest in 1940, losses to all causes amounted to approximately 400 aircraft. Out of this total some 150 were lost to enemy fighters and ground fire, another 100 were destroyed on the ground in enemy air raids and the remainder was deliberately destroyed by French military personnel to prevent the fighters from falling into enemy hands intact. In return M.S.406 squadrons achieved 191 confirmed victories and another 83 probable victories. The type was more successful in the hands of Finnish and Swiss air forces who developed indigenous models.

    14. New Mirage III sights

Hi!!! As you may have noticed, the Mirage III sights are a bit too dull against bright skies, and there's not enough contrast against it for propper aiming. A couple Mig-21s got lucky because of this. With the help of Ivanbasic, I am uploading the modified TGAs. Just drag them to your Mirage III cockpit folder, inside the Mirage III main directory, in the mods folder. If you don't have a "Cockpit" folder, create one. You can use this sights in every aircraft that has a Mirage III cockpit (Shahak, for instance). Thanks to Ivanbasic!!! I hope you like it, feel free to modify it!! (if you kow how to improve it, do it and upload it ;) ) I hope you like it.

    16. SF2 WW2 PTO B-24D 319th BS, 1943-44 Skin/Decals Pak

      SF2 WW2 PTO B-24D 319th BS, 1943-44 Skin/Decals Pak 9/15/2013

-- Something for the PTO players --

      = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

A new skin for the B-24D Liberator by pasko. This skin represents aircraft of the 319th BS of the 90th BG "Jolly Rogers" in their mid-to-late livery as seen in New Guinea and the Southwest Pacific operations areas, circa 1943 thru 1944.

It is designed for use the SF2(ish) B-24D mod, available at the following url:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/13842-sf2-ww2-b-24d-liberator-eto-mto-pak/

The skin is brand new(ish), from my Home Grown Template ™, and is in jpg format. New serial number decals were created; they should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they don't accurately represent the unit, but DO represent the correct model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. There are NO nose arts.
This skin makes use of the Post-Sept 43 "Star-and-Bar" (white outlined).

In essence, it's a rebadging of the 42-43 skin already available. This skin uses the "StartDefaultDate" SF2 switch, and will automaticaly turn on in November, 1943.
As this skin IS Theatre specific to the Pacific regions, you'll have to do some editing after installing to the B-24D above in your PTO-centric mods folder, and remove or rename the ETO/MTO skins.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them.

Note that these are all new models and not stand-ins or re-skins of existing ones. While they are relatively low-poly and low-res, if there is sufficient demand, I will update these models with more detail and improved textures at some point in the future.

      Featured South Korean vehicles include:

M48A5K tank: Cold war era tank upgraded with a 105mm L7 gun
K1 MBT: Modern tank based on the M1 Abrams (though smaller) with a 105mm L7 gun
K1A1 MBT: Upgraded version of the K1 with a 120mm L44 smoothbore gun
K2 Black Panther MBT: Advanced (and extremely expensive) battle tank with indigenous technologies and a 120mm L55 gun
KM900 APC: Cold war era wheeled APC based on the Italian Fiat 6614
K200A1 IFV: Modern tracked fighting vehicle based on the US-designed AIFV
K21 IFV: Advanced fighting vehicle with a 40mm autocannon and anti-tank missiles
K9 Thunder SPA: Modern 155mm mobile howitzer
K136 Kooryong MRL: Modern wheeled 130mm rocket launcher
K263 Vulcan AAA: Mobile anti-aircraft vehicle based on the M163 Vulcan Air Defense System
K30 Biho AAA: Mobile anti-aircraft vehicle with twin 30mm guns
K-SAM Chonma: Mobile tracked short-range SAM based on the modern Crotale system

These ground objects are recommended for use with Wrench's latest Korea terrain. Please see the readme for full details. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or constructive criticisms regarding this package, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you!

    20. CF-4E Phantom II - Canadian Forces - Part 1

      Introduction

Here is McDonnell Douglas CF-110E Phantom II for the Canadian Forces Air Command. It is based on ravenclaw_007's new F-4E. This package contains the CF-4E, skins in Canadian Voodoo Grey and SEA camouflage.

      History

During the 1960s, the Royal Canadian Air Force commenced a search for a more affordable fighter to supplement the CF-101 Voodoo, and the CF-104 Starfighter. The RCAF advised the government to acquire the F-4 Phantom II. The Canadian Government accepted the RCAF's advice, but McDonnell made a counter proposal. McDonnell's executives suggested that the Canadian Government order enough Phantoms to replace their entire fighter force, in exchange McDonnell would buy back the Voodoos, Orenda would manufacture J79 engines. The Government agreed to order enough Phantoms to equip nine squadrons, plus an operational training unit. The high rates of F-4 production at the time would allow for fairly rapid delivery beginning in 1968. The official Canadian designation for the Phantom was CF-110, but it was universally known as the CF-4.

The Canadian Forces Air Command fielded four Phantom squadrons for NORAD, two for NATO at CFB Baden-Sollingen, three more NATO reinforcement squadorns in Canada, and an Operational Training Unit.

In Europe, the CF-4 undertook the roles of close support, battlefield air superiority, and strike with nuclear and conventional weapons. Beginning in 1972, the reconnaissance role was filled by twenty four new RF-4E distributed among the NATO squadrons.

In 1981, 414 Squadron was made operational with twenty CF-4G Wild Weasel aircraft.

Canada's Phantoms saw combat in the Gulf War, and in Bosnia. After the Bosnian War, Canada decided to replace the CF-4 with the F/A-18C/D. The Phantom began to be phased out of CAF service in 1995, and was finally retired in 1998. Most of the surviving Canadian Phantoms were converted into QF-4 target drones.

    25. SF2 WW2 ETO Bf-109E Hangar and Loading Screens

SF2 WW2 ETO Bf-109E Hangar and Loading Screens

-- Something for the WW2 ETO players --

      = For SF2 ONLY =

This pack contains 2 new hangar and loading screens for RussoUK Messerschmitt Bf-109E-3, as
seen in Western/Northern Europe approximatley 1940-41.
This is for ETO 109Es only! The artwork depicts them in the Battle of Britain time frame.

These are in the famous "Box Art" style, and will replace the originals Russ did. I created
these as the old Hangar screen didn't quite fit SF2 formatting, and I got tired of looking
at the old ones! (Sorry Russ -grin- !!!).

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE
      read them!!!

      Enjoy!!
