3 pointsTrailing was picked off of AvWeb's Flash e-zine this morning: The Naval Air Station at Belle Chase regularly uses New Iberia, LA (KARA) as a refueling stop. I was flying my Piper PA‑32 into KARA to get fuel for myself and contacted the Tower. Tower: “Piper Three Five Eight One Whiskey, enter a left base for Runway 34. You are following two F‑18s on a 15‑mile final.” I saw the jets and could tell that if I kept my current speed I would be close to their jet wash. Me: “Eight One Whiskey, left base for 34, slowing down for the F‑18s.” F‑18 pilot: “In your dreams.”

1 pointI have uploaded a cockpit for the DFW C.V. The cockpit features fully functional gauges, rudder control, stick, and throttle. It will work in both FE1 and FE2. Installation instructions are included. I discovered a typo in the data.ini which makes the Fuselage disappear in Cockpit view, I have included instructions for correcting that type in the download.

1 pointNo german Jastas in the East Front. The german and austrian fighters were attached to the two-seater units in small quantities. In 07/01/17 Jadgflieger Ober-Ost was formed (basically an ad-hoc fighter unit with planes from the two seater units, similar to the KEKs of Western Front in 1915-16). This unit moved out the Galician front in August and came back in September, It became Jasta 81 in October 1917, the only Jasta in the entire Eastern Front.

1 pointJust to be complete, in order for decals to show properly on the model the object needs a "with decals" setting to be turned on in 3DS Max when it is saved or it does funky things in game. Stephen1918 and I ran into that issue when assigning pennant number decals to the V & W class destroyers. You might need to be able to read the data the "with decals" flag adds to the object. Example of the issue from our development.

1 pointhttp://patrulla-azul.com/FreeIL2modding/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&p=15848#p15848 for the Mosquito junkies ... MOSQUITO B.IV HIGH-BALL (Series-II) (Type2) 4.13.4 / 4.12.2 / Hsfx I have been debating posting this for almost a year, i created it some time ago (almost 1 year now) & then its been left collecting dust so ... Instead of this never being available, better i get it posted & up on to the cloud , it almost went into WiP section & then i decided i want to finally put this project to bed & close it, so ive posted & tagged it on the end of this thread. Then i will post it into the first post as a second type / option. What held me back for so long was finding specifications & evidence. I found no evidence of it having folding wings. Some people say it was a driven by a four blade prop & so does the only official looking data, almost all photographs show a 3bladed prop, video shows a 3 bladed & 4 bladed prop. Most kits are 4 bladed. The issue which seems most confusing is the tropical filter. There are more details about the history & specs in the readme in the download. It has its own unique FM & EM but i could use hand finishing it as i do not know how to adjust the amount of blades for the prop & i couldn't find a tutorial how either. This is only my interpretation of the final Modification done to create the Real life 618 Sqd Mosquito High ball Modification Basic spec of aircraft modification Modified bomb bay Merlin 25's 4 blade Propellers Tropical filters

1 point(don't know what happened with the quotation box there...to answer the question: only 1stGens locate the decals sub folder ( Objects/Aircraft/F-86F/336th(skin)/D/*nameofdecal* in skin sub folder the aircraft main folder SF2 uses a seperate /Objects/Decals/Name-of-aircraft/name-of-skin/-decals-/name of decal format. Something TK changed when going to the SF2, seperate mods folders concept/formate/wingdongs7 also, the DecalMaxLod= MUST be listed in each decal statement in the ini. Oddly, in 1stGens it wasn't necessary. We only found that out (SF2) when converting older aircraft TO sf2, and finding the decals didn't show, all else being equal. OTH, 1stGens CAN use the Objects/Decals/etc..... that's been tested by me and it works fine.

1 pointTotally agree mate for the early war and Palestine where older types stayed in service longer it would be nice to see, and Borts Farmans are ok, but they need an update , and some of the older 2 seaters which have the original FE 1 Gunners in are really ugly looking now , well past their sell by date me thinks !!

1 pointI know time is a premium for our modders but it might be a worthwhile at some point to have a new nascel made for these old planes. maybe just make a couple versions slightly larger than the original that could be placed vis the fake pilot method.

1 pointSome good news for you all... feasibility testing/operational testing has gone to a new level...

1 pointBut I can remember years ago, that if I typed in a book title... tons of pdf references would come up. Some sites required users to be paid members, but just about any book I could think of was showing up as a downloadable file. In the old days, I could go to a hobby shop or book store and check out a book's contents before buying it. Not many places carry the types of aviation books I buy and the ones that do can only afford to carry the most popular ones (i.e. Osprey books at hobby shops). Being able to check out a low-res poorly scanned pdf helped fill my shelves with tons more books than I would have bought otherwise... but then there were countless others whose content was worthless. It is very nice to see the entire contents of the book, especially when you know exactly what facts/specs/references you are hoping to gain from purchasing the book.
