3 pointsThat did the trick Russ! Many, many thanks! Now, I have to go back and rebuild a couple of airfields that I wanted that large hangar on. Below is a TE view of Hanoi and the surrounding regions. You can probably guess, the "white lines" are roads.Highway 1 connects the southeastern tip of the SEA all the way to Hanoi and beyond

2 pointsAre you talking about this Geezer's model, of course? Yes, it could be a unique model with excellent detail. But vague doubts torment me that we will someday see the implementation of this (and many other) of his projects ...

2 pointsVery nice work Stephen. Great to see yet another new addition. Thank you for your tremendous contribution, here and in the past. Much appreciated. And thanks to Ojcar for his suggestions too. Have a happy Christmas.

1 pointOjcar recommended this late-war German fighter/ground attack plane. It has a 160hp water cooled 6 cylinder engine capable of speeds up to 165 kph. It carries a synchronized Spandau in the fuselage and has a Parabellum on a ring mount for the observer. There is a rack of 10 stick grenades on the port side - the grenades will drop one by one. This is about half done, I'm hoping to be finished by Christmas. The real world is keeping me busy, but I'm hoping...

1 pointLast summer, I enjoyed a trip in Albania (took off from Tirana and took pictures over Durrës just 4 hours before the major earthquake that mauled the area on 21 September, by the way!) There, I visited the nice medieval Castle in Gjirokastra, which was once the National Museum of Arms during the Communist era (still contains dozens of WW2 artillery guns). And on the top of this fortress, I unexepectedly stumbled on this wreckage faded by 50 years of careless outdoor exposure. On 23 December 1957, this USAF Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star (number 51-04413) was forced to land by two or three MiG-15bis, while flying off-course over Communist Albania during a transit from France to Greece. Major Howard J. Curran claimed he planned to land anyway due to instruments failure and lack of fuel; he was relased as soon as 9 January 1958. The plane has been exhibited in Gjirokaster since 1969, as a captured spy-plane and a war trophy over the Imperialist powers. Typical Cold War era...

1 pointI believe I know why this has happened. I regret the discord --which has occurred on other sites-- that has caused this. There are two groups, the EAWPRO group (Vonbeerhoven), and the "Code-group" Mr Jelly, R Otten, that are at odds. This contention has been going on for a long time. These two groups have competing versions of the EAW sim. Some folks are neutral, such as MarkEAW, who tries to modify his longstanding EAW Help Site to help everyone. Perhaps some sub-forums with "Read-Only" content might be appropriate. Perhaps some other alternatives will be deemed useful. My point in typing this message is that some sort of modus vivendi should be found that does not require an inordinate amount of Moderator/Admin attention. FWIW, I am familiar with such. I doubt that the two opposing groups will ever "settle down". So, some constructive method needs to be made to resurrect the Forum, and both groups kept in check. I propose a 1) Read-Only EAWPRO sub-forum 2) Read-only "Code Group" sub forum 3) A General EAW forum which has a Mod who is enabled to move topics to one or the other sub forums at will, and who is authorized to suspend/boot the posting capabilities of all posters in a fair manner, with reasonable provision for appeal. Such a Moderator will necessarily have to spend a good deal of time in the General EAW forum, at least until such a point where the folks posting therein understand that NO shenanigans will be tolerated. This will be a learning process for all involved; especially the posters. Given the nature of some of these posters, this Moderating task will be an everyday task, until the posters are whipped into shape. I say this from experience. No offense to current Mods. Submitted for consideration.

1 pointThanks ! You're right "NozzleAnimationID=7" but then the nozzle values must be changed to : [Engine] ... NozzleAnimationID=7 ... IdleNozzle=1.0 ... CruiseNozzle=0.0 ... MilNozzle=0.0 ... MaxNozzle=0.0 ... FullABNozzle=1.0 or something like that It's a nice bird

1 pointlast time Geezer left the community over a dispute it was over a year before he returned. not picking sides or placing blame just saying that he tends to leave for long periods of time when there is any sort of discord. I hope he returns as his work was top notch and from my personal experience I never had anything but good, limited but good, relations with him.

1 pointIndeed, I recommend a cautious and slow approach - for example, if in another several months' time there is no word from Geezer's WWI Workshop of Aircraft, then I think that Stephen should feel more than comfortable to continue his Sopwith Tripe project. Speaking of Geezer's works-in-progress, I am willing to upload the Junkers J.I model to the "new aircraft" thread eventually (the model seems fine, and the FM is complete for it) - but skins will have to be done at the user-end. I'm certainly no skin expert. Perhaps Eugene or Crawford are already working on some skins for the Junkers - I will let them decide when it is feasible to "make public" the Junkers since it isn't one of the pressing/important aircraft for FE2, to paraphrase Crawford. I will in the meantime keep tweaking away at my ver. 9.9 FM update pack; I hope to release it before the end of the year. EDIT: Thank you for this lovely Halb. CL.II Stephen, it will be a great complement to Geezer's CL.IV. The CL.II, while slower and less maneuverable than the CL.IV, was much more pleasant to fly according to pilots. Happy flying gents', Von S

1 pointA video from the head-up-display (HUD) of an F-16 illustrates how the Auto GCAS helped save the life of an F-16 student pilot who lost consciousness during a training mission. The student pilot, training with the Arizona Air National Guard’s 152nd Fighter Squadron, succumb to G-Induced Loss of Consciousness (GLOC) during a high-speed maneuver. As the unconscious pilot’s F-16 careened toward the ground, the Auto GCAS determined that a ground collision was imminent and initiated a fly up maneuver to roll the F-16’s wings level and upright as the pilot regained consciousness and added Gs to the recovery, saving both pilot and plane. 1 pointwell, shoot! I just clone stamped it out on the existing skins Yes, I have all the carriers (as well as the aircraft). But there seems to be a problem with the "CV Zone" in the Gulf of Tonkin/South China Sea. Even with NavalMap=TRUE, I'm getting CV spawning on land. Odd too see ARROMANCHES plowing through the fields east of Bangkok!! (actually, was kind of hilarious!! the launch went off just fine!) I think I'm going to need some assistance on figuring that one out. I REALLY want the CVs to work. OTH, "North & South CV stations" are still active in the targets ini, so when writing a campaign, you can station the 3 (4?) different bird farms there. But in single missions ...gggrrrrrr.....!!!! Most, if not all, the carrier issues I'm seeing can totally be blamed on the Original Manufacturer (tm), as the map is far too small (and also only 63% RL) and there's not quite enough sea room near the Eastern Wall

1 pointIt would be a pity to find ourselves caught between two stools, an outcome that I think would not be desired by any concerned party.

1 pointThanks for noticing. The grenades are stock weapons in FE. I spent a couple hours tweaking the weapons stations and the model to get them to line up so nicely. I actually started a Tripe at one point, but then Geezer showed screen caps of one he was working on, so I backed off.

1 pointI haven’t contributed in a while but I always check in to see what’s going on. This is a good one Stephen. I always liked the CL.ll. Lots of great skins for it. I still fly when I get a chance. I’m definitely getting this one when it’s finished cooking. Thanks Stephen1918 Cant wait for the Sopwith Triplane you are going to work on next! 😉

0 pointsHey, Wrench. Just post the water bitmap, and I'll look into it. A few painting softwares don't save 8bit bitmaps correctly. However, considering how small the water area is in VietnamSEA, I pretty much doubt we can have CV stations as in stock IcelandNA. NavalMap=TRUE should only be used on terrains where we can have big naval battles, as that also affects strike missions to an extent. For other scenarios like this one, carriers should be static and set in campaigns. I had similar issues in the IraqWA terrains I released. The water area was simply too small given the 63% RL size, and so NavalMap=FALSE was kind of a forced decision.
