7 pointsThe Hot Dog Stand is over a decade old; time for the new 2020 “Swambast” overhaul edition! This version is based on an actual hot dog stand known as “The Dog House.” It was owned by Dick Portillo who spent his family’s life savings to open up a hot dog stand in 1963. The hot dog stand was originally inside a cramped trailer located 18 miles west of Chicago, Illinois (USA). In my opinion, my version does a good (not great) job of replicating the original considering the FPS/performance balance I wanted to maintain. Also, I took it off the trailer and made it more of a solid fixture. As always, I get suckered by details, so I added in the working "grill smoke" and a delicious “hot dog combo meal.” Also, thought it would be fun to create a custom destroyed model that has burnt hot dogs scattered everywhere (). Working on a few final tweaks including hit boxes/collision mesh but should be ready soon. P.S. @Wrench: time for your “Wrench’s Weiners” hot dog stand to be updated. PM me with some details and I’d be happy to make it for you. Also, might have a surprise for you regarding the early genre firetruck you were looking for at one point.

3 pointsThe antenna which is formed like the tip of an hunting arrow is the so called SAU antenna. SAU is a automatically landing approach system, which enables the plane to perfom an autonomous landing approach or on more modern systems an autonomous landing of the plane. SAU is part of the RSBN navigation system. RSBN is comparable with the american TACAN, but is much more precise. Normally you has two such antennas on the plane. One under the nose, the other on the tailfin. Here the SAU antenna on the tailfin of the MiG-21bisSAU

2 pointsYes indeed, the TW sims have some of the best views in the business (padlock, hat switches, panoramic views, etc.) - I'm always impressed by the precision of the padlock view in dogfights in both FE2 and also in the high-speed prop aircraft in my 40s/50s SF2 installs - a great sense of immersion and neck craning to see your opponent. ROF and WOFF/WOTR also have good view systems but the views/toggling only feels fully organic (and the most precise) to me in the TW sims. Also picked up IL2-1946 for two dollars recently on Steam, largely as a novelty, and while the graphics look acceptable for a mid-2000s sim (with the "vp modpack" installed) - the padlock view leaves something to be desired and is often hit-or-miss, while toggling between cockpit and external aircraft-to-target view during dogfights really breaks immersion in that sim. Obligatory FE2 screenies below. Von S

1 pointView File SF2 RA-5C Vigilante Pack v.2 SF2 RA-5C Vigilante Pack v.2 9/27/2019 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) This is a revamp of Julhiem's RA-5C "Vigilante" carrier based recon aircraft. It has has several updates/upgrades/changes to make it more SF2 compliant. This is the complete aircraft, with everything included. If you have any earlier version(s) it is suggested you delete BOTH the aircaft and decals subfolders, as this version replaces them it toto. Or at least, remove or store them elsewhere. The aircraft comes with 6 skins, including the original released single skin. These skins are: RVAH-1 'Smokin' Tigers (USS Independence 1965, CVW-7, SEA, first combat cruise) RVAH-5 'Savage Sons' (USS Ranger CVW? 19??) ** RVAH-6 'Fleurs' (USS Kittyhawk 1971, CVW-11 SEA) RVAH-7 'Peacemakers' (USS Ranger, 1978/79, WesPac, Squadron's Final Cruise) RVAH-9 'Hoot Owls' (USS Saratoga 1967, CVW-3 Med cruise) RVAH-11 'Checkertails' (USS constellation, CVW-9 SEA 1971/72) **= original release skin Almost all markings are decals, excepting some painted-on squadron insignia. Serial/BuNums are 100% historically accurate (by unit) Decal randomization is TRUE. Skins remain in bmp format, as they're not that large. The SF2 "date switch" is active. The canopy opens/closes with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/0 (zero). As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. See "Notes" for list of changes. If there's anything missing or "off", please let me know and I'll try to find it. This mod got lost in the shuffle with several other large projects. Happy Landings!
