Something to be said about taking a F-111 deep into East Germany in the element and drop a bomb on a SA-6 radar of a site that fired on you, then a stick of slicks in a thunderstorm and take out a steel mill!

New Dreams for a New Year… and Beyond! Thank you for your passion and support 2020 and Beyond Trailer Aircraft, terrains and carrier operations Everyone at Eagle Dynamics is working hard to make the start of this decade one to remember. While 2019 was a monumental year for DCS. We have more exciting things in store for 2020. This includes new aircraft such as the P-47 Thunderbolt, Mosquito, Mi-24P Hind, as well as the continued development of the F/A-18C Hornet and F-16C Viper including air-to-ground radar, Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) sensors and enhanced missile dynamics and behaviour. We will also see detailed aircraft carrier operations with DCS: Supercarrier, and new maps like the free Marianas Islands map and The Channel map. We will also be releasing updates to the A-10C Warthog and Ka-50 Black Shark (including a free cockpit update coming very soon). Most of the Eagle Dynamics team will be focused on DCS World core to improve performance, lighting, and weather. We will also launch our new damage modelling engine which initially will be for the WWII aircraft. The team is also working hard to improve airfield air traffic control, more life-like AI, new AI units, and a dynamic campaign system. Our 3rd party partners will also be hard at work in 2020 with the F-15E Strike Eagle, MiG-23 Flogger, OH-58 Kiowa Warrior, Syria and Falkland Islands maps, and more. Later this year, we are looking forward to announcing an eagerly awaited aircraft for DCS World. This will be a highly detailed and complex aircraft representing a huge milestone. The Israelis rearmed and refueled their french made planes in 1967 war in under 5 minutes. East german ground crews needed comparable time for refueling and rearming MiG-21 during tests. In normal peacetime the turnaround time was around 20 minutes.

There is one way that I know of if you want a second sortie without ending the mission. Go to your Controls folder. There should be an .ini file in there that lists all the key controls, such as "Default.ini". Open that up, and look for the [ControlSet001] column. At the end, paste in the following: REARM_WEAPONS=ALT+W RELOAD_GUN=ALT+G UNJAM_GUN=ALT+J After you land, press Alt+W and then Alt+G to re-arm your weapons and replenish gun ammo. Taxi back around and take off. (You can change the key presses to anything else you want, of course.) Thanks to WhiteBoySamurai for his post and the CA community.

Well I better post my Swing-Wing Saturday before it's too late on the West Coast: Yes, that's a Tornado F-3 in a scissors with a MiG-23. I decided to go with the Tornado F3 as I'm currently reading a book on the F3 by David Gledhill.

And now we know why they flew VFR and SVFR. Simply put the aircraft and pilot were rated for instruments but the company who owned the aircraft didn't have an IFR certificate and insurance to fly IFR flights. This type of certification only allowed the pilots working for Island Express to file VFR flight plans. This lowered the company's operating cost and insurance cost while allowing them to operate as 98% of all helo flight in SoCal can be performed VFR. Additionally the S-76B should have had two pilots. The aircraft was certified for a single pilot but never recommended for a single pilot especially in weather where the work load on the pilot increases exponentially. Believe it or not this appears to boil down to money, risk, and pilot error. Island Express should be IFR rated and should have not made the S-76B they flew single pilot electable but instead required two pilots. Kobe should have coughed up the extra money for the extra pilot, if he even knew that was an option or that he was risking his life flying single pilot in that aircraft, he may have thought that was business as usual. A second set of eyes in the left seat potentially may have provided the necessary feedback to cancel or discontinue the flight mid-journey at a bare minimum the second pilot would have reduced the workload for a pilot flying in sub optimal conditions. In the end they couldn't fly IFR because they couldn't file for it. This flight had all the cards stacked on the wrong side before it departed Orange County. The law suits are going to be horrendous and people and companies will be destroyed over this abundance of poor judgement. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/30/us/kobe-bryant-crash-flight-certification.html E
