For some time already I have been working on KC-10 tanker. I think I have started this project in 2017. But as expected I can easily find interest in other projects, so this one was not so top priority. Recently - accidentally I have opened a folder named DC/KC-10. And I faced a dilemma to do or not to do...now. So I decided to put it on another hiatus. But hey...there might be some other option. The model is not 100% finished. I still need to model front gear (on the picture below there is front gear visible - but this is just resized copy of central gear.) and crew cockpit and some small bits. The overall model is animated and mostly UVW mapped. I think only the refueling boom needs to be mapped. What I am looking for? Someone - person or team of CA users who will do some skinning work. I can provide with lod and UVW layout. Of course, lod viewer might be helpful. From my own experience, I know that sometimes UVW mapping needs to be changed during the process of creating a skin. This is not an issue. Even if for now I have no intention to focus on this model I might still have a chance to do some changes if necessary. As you can imagine model is quite big, but not huge. Model is UVW mapped on 6 bitmap sheets. SO we can expect some quite reasonable and decent level of detail. If you know my previous work you should know what to expect (and what I expect) from the skin. Generally, this is a tedious job to paint panel lines, rivets, details, etc. But we are not gonna count rivets. But a decent level of detail is possible. We do not need to create skins for countries, air forces and all that stuff. First good base skin needs to be created. All colorful work, decals, users, etc is a song of the future. Time here is not an essence so time schedule is quite flexible. No need to hurry. But If you want new KC-10 in-game..then some work needs to be done. Somehow, someday. Maybe skin will be done while I will not have a chance to work on the model...but still, this is progress. I do not expect that crazy mob will run toward this project...as this is just a useless tanker. But maybe someone would like to gain some skills - as I point this message mostly to young users here at CA. Here is your chance to start to do some modding. Of course, you will need to have gimp, photoshop or similar graphic editor. And of course, the will to participate in this project is needed. I do not want to force someone to do that or put pressure. I can provide reference photos, tips and general support. Perhaps some other reference would need to be researched. Another thing is that I never (yet) exported this model into the game - so some data.ini work is needed also. And here is a sample of layouts. I know that you old farts CA modders are quite busy with your own projects. But as I said before I am hoping that some new users will have a will to participate. Anyway. We will see.

I assure you that this model is not pirated, but it will not see light so soon and the model was created a few weeks after the flight of the real prototype.

Coronavirus AKA Covid19, discovered in November 2019 in China when the alert sounds were sounded. The 19 in Covid19 means discovered 2019, fun fact. Western civilizations and European countries were all asleep at the wheel watching the train wreck in the US that not even the loudest siren in Asia could be heard over the whine. China postponed the Chinese New Year folks, they don't do that for a run a day flu or cold. This is not political, just utterly disgusting and I digress. May you all weather the storm and sail again another day even in times like these when stupid is manning the helm. Be well all. E

Here in Israel, the government is taking it very seriously and we're now entered a lock-down situation in a way.. and suggest not to go outside if not necessary.. We were also asked not involve grandparents to babysit our kids while schools & kindergartens are closed (How the HACK am I suppose to work and babysit my little monkey if she's yelling daddy daddy half the day? luckily the wife is also working from home) Anyway, the number of infected people is on the rise (I expect it to double almost daily when tests will become frequent [we only test several hundreds a day]) and stand at about 500 - luckily no deaths Shit has hit the fan, hopefully it will go over soon and everybody keeps healthy and safe Good night :)

Couldn't agree more with you, @Erik We Italians warned our neighbors as much as possible, but other EU countries did not want to listen. They preferred to keep activities open for money and economy. Now they'll have bigger trouble than us in a matter of weeks. This is what happens when you care more about money and less about health. The EU leaders thought they could get away with it, let Italy go into recession while they could grow their own economies. They didn't realize everyone is going to suffer from the consequences of the outbreak. And don't get me started about the "herd immunity" crap from UK's PM; I also read Netherlands wants to do the same, but not sure if it's true. Be ready to see your hospitals being overwhelmed, without remaining ICUs. Number of deaths will increase because of such horrible, Hitler-like decisions. A strong government will protect the weaker, a weak government will only let the "strong" live. For once, I am proud to be Italian. Our government took its time, but now is dealing with this very seriously. At the moment, we have more than 300 deaths a day, at this rate we'll have 2,000 deaths by the end of the week. The Northern regions' hospitals are collapsing due to ICUs being full. My town just got hit yesterday by the virus, with the first contagion. Me and my loved ones are all in lockdown, we have enough supplies for this week. PS: China is helping Italy by sending lots of medical supplies. The EU was somewhat mocking us and even blocked our orders of masks our doctors need. We payed for those, but we haven't seen them. So much for solidarity in the EU, pfff. Rant over, from the guy who believed in the EU.

Things got really interesting when somehow even with a F-15C Eagle escort, GR.1 Tornadoes on a CAS mission had to go multi-role. @guuruu really did good with the artwork here: THIS is what I wanted my post 1,100 to be folks! Lots of BOOM!

cough cough nudge nudge i'm wrapping up B-1s for now (SAC era complete, just gotta finish research on 14 in ANG service and knock them out) and KC-10 was on my improve list for this SAC Twilight thing i got going on. done by Sunday and off to testers if RL cooperates (dang if we arent supposed to stay indoors now). $0.02 thrown in even if your still looking for new blood for the base skin, the decals set up for the old one should do with minimal adjustment (depends on how the windows and doors are on model really). would save a lot of time for both the tanker versions and airliner versions later on. also to any and all who might tackle big girl here (me included): i wouldnt worry about the rivets themselves. tried it on the C-5 years ago. on something this big irl, the rivets would have to be the diameter of Whoppers to be visible at any realistic distance

One of the biggest regrets I have is what nationalism has done in our country. Some people were so busy making America great again that we are in no position to help the rest of the world. We're literally trying to keep ourselves from drowning and everyone else is on their own. We can't be a global economy, a global civilization that travels within hours between continents, but focus only on our selves. We either want to be a global community or we don't. Time to shite or get off the pot.

Long time since I last posted here, but I lurk from time to time to search for some good mods and I found this thread... Northern Italy here, from one of the most badly hit provinces of the country. Total lockdown was enacted one week and a half ago. Companies are still open, and it was difficult to persuade my boss to allow me to work from home, since Italian bosses tend to think that smart working is for slackers. Before the lockdown many people behaved very irresponsibly: overcrowding ski resorts (one of them is in an area close to where I live where one of the first clusters was found, which possibly explains why my area is so badly hit) and escaping en masse to the at the time unaffected southern regions, spreading the disease in the whole country. In my area hospitals ran out of ICUs few days ago. Field hospitals are popping out everywhere, but we know they will not be enough to save everybody.

Today has been the first "don't go to work" day from the Government over here and they have given out figures that the mitigation strategy will still result in 200,000 estimated deaths by August. Most sport and cinema has been cancelled but they have not shut the schools yet despite most of the teachers being told they need to stay at home The businesses that were not killed by the internet are now being killed by this virus it seems unless the government step in - even seems to be a story about Amazon stopping shipments and not making their robots kill themselves for the shareholders. I don't know why but his video despite being mostly satire seems to be one of the few things to get the message through.

F-8E Crusader (“מָגֵן”) As October of 1973 progressed, one thing was clear. While Israel did not lose the Yom Kippur War, nor were they winning it. New Soviet air defence systems delivered to the Arab nations had taken a heavy toll on the Israeli Air Force and desperate reinforcements were needed. The United States, eager to assist their new ally in the middle east began an air bridge to supply ammunition, ordinance, airframes and spare parts to replace the vast quantities of material lost in the battles. On the 29th of October, the USS Hancock was given an unprecedented order - to proceed at once to the Red Sea where the entirety of Air Wing 21 - consisting of three Skyhawk Squadrons and two Crusader Squadrons - would be flown to Israel and the airframes loaned to the Israeli Air Force to replace losses. On the 1st of November, Air Wing took off from the Hancock, armed with ordinance for self-defence and began their journey towards Air Bases in Israel. The Air Forces of Egypt and Jordan interpreted this as an Alpha Strike, aimed at their Air Forces and scrambled several squadrons to intercept. However, direct US entry into the war was averted as radar monitors noticed the air group's heading was directly towards Israel Airspace and intercepting aircraft was recalled home. At first, the Israeli Air Force met their new gift of Crusaders with some confusion and apprehension, having never operated the type before but U.S Navy pilots - now stranded in a country at war - was eager to provide expertise and assistance, serving as impromptu flight instructors and it is believed that up to a third of the airplanes was indeed crewed by volunteer US Navy Pilots. While this was never admitted by the United States, it was never denied either and in later years, many ex-Navy pilots have come forward and told of their experiences of flying in the war. The other two thirds was made up of older Israeli active reserve pilots, more used to flying Mysteres and Mirages. This experience proved to be beneficial transferring to the Crusader. The Crusaders would not go to form any squadrons of their own in the Israeli Air Force, rather they were spread out to work together with Skyhawk Squadrons, acting as fighter escorts and decoy aircraft, using their speed and maneuverability to escape situations that would be tricky for the Skyhawks to handle. The pairing worked well and casualties in Skyhawk Squadrons were quickly reduced to manageable levels, earning the Crusaders their Israeli nickname of מָגֵן or “Guardian”. In Israeli service, they would have a kill ratio of ten to one with pilots often preferring to fly the aircraft without any external ordinance, relying on the four 20mm guns to engage and destroy the target. While the guns in US Navy service was considered unreliable, there are oddly enough few such reports from the Israeli Air Force. Rather, the airframes quirks were spoken of fondly as something to work with rather than being a hindrance. The gun sights especially were praised and similar systems would be installed in both A-4 Skyhawks and F-4 Phantoms after the war's end. On the 28th of November, a Ceasefire agreement was put into place with the Israelis making moderate land gains, gains that would lead to the 1978 Camp David Accords that became the first peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. On the 15th of December, surviving aircraft of Air Wing 21 left Israel and were flown by their air crews to the USS Intrepid on what would be the last cruise of the Essex Class Carrier with the pilots that no longer had airframes to fly were flown to the ship by Israeli Navy Helicopters. With the Crusaders showing wear and tear after both their Vietnam and Middle East adventures, the majority of them were destined to be scrapped. However, the Israeli Air Force intervened, purchasing ten airplanes with six being donated to military museums across the country and four others being positioned as Gate Guardians outside the Ramat David, Nevatim, Hatzerim and Hatzor Air Bases where they remain to this day. Even with Skyhawks no longer flying from the bases, pilots of the Israeli Air Force have come to regard the Crusaders with a reverence and it is not uncommon to see groups of pilots stand in silent attention in front of them before embarking on a mission. Participating in the cleaning and maintenance of them is also considered mandatory and a way to create good unit cohesion. It does however also make the pilots fiercely protective of their good luck charms. When the gate guardian of Ramat David Air Base was vandalised by a group of teenagers, the local air group intervened to provide a special punishment for the vandals; scrubbing hangars with tiny brushes with helpful suggestions of pilots and staff at the base. In the end, the מָגֵן of Ramat David seemed to be both forgiving and with a sense of humour as several years later, the teenagers would do their military service in the Israeli Air Force. All of the former vandals became aircraft mechanics at their own request, serving with skill and diligence at the Ramat David Air Base.

to the best of my knowledge, the LOD is NOT here. Unfortuntately (as recently seen) we really can't stop people from doing things. We can only warn them, advise them and hope they understand and follow site policy. Why did the OP post here in The Pub, instead of the right SF forum? Obviously, not paying attention to location. It's happened before, and it'll happen again You'll also notice the OP never said what game it's for. While I'm quite sure it for the SF series, without knowing WHICH one, I can't move the thread to where it belongs

It can be cause by another program running in the background especially security software. Try turning off all Games bar in the Games mode settings the WIn 10 settings right click on the shortcut or exe and click "disable full screen optimisations", also try "Run this program as administrator" Also I don't install any games under program files these days - are all on another drive - not sure if this matters anymore

@gerwin I am not claiming that the virus is deadly all by itself, but it is indeed speeding up the deaths of hundreds of elderly people each day (and by elder people, I mean those who are more than 50 year old). You see, my dad was diagnosed a rare blood disease last November. He's prone to get ill. If he ever gets the virus, I know what will happen to him, but I do not want to even think about it. Of those 300 that are dying everyday, many could have lived for years to come, even with their own previous diseases and conditions. The virus is not so light as others still make it believe. Just to provide an example close to me; a municipal employee in my province went to work with fever. He had the virus, and with his recklessness he infected lots of colleagues. A colleague of his infected his own father, and the father died. Last I have heard, the employee who started it all was in resuscitation. My grandma is 89 years old. Of course she has got some conditions with her age, but she is healthy nonetheless. With the virus, she'd be a goner. I hope that clarifies things. I am not willing to let old people die (and my father is not even that old, he's in his 60s)
