Hi all guyys, is quite some times now than I wonder about a RWR in the Nesher. If I remember well,it was present in WOI and after all,the fin' leading edge of the planes had a RWR receiwer,so I wonder if at least an aural tone will be present. This will be a very useful thing in the Yom Kippur campaign.... Stay safe guys. Gianni

aint nothing too it! (from the guy that invented the audio=only RWR 'way in the 2000s.) extract the avionics ini fro the Nesher from whatever cat it's in. Also, extract the data ini -- it'll need updating too. place both in the Nesher's aircraft folder open the avionics ini, and add the following lines: [RWR] Type=AUDIO_ONLY TrackSound=RWRTrackSound.wav LockSound=RWRLockSound.wav [RWRTrackSound] Priority=HIGH 3DSound=FALSE Looped=TRUE NumBuffers=1 [RWRLockSound] Priority=HIGH 3DSound=FALSE Looped=TRUE NumBuffers=1 save, and close open the Nesher's data ini, and in the DetectSystem section ---> [DetectSystem] Name= RadarType=RANGING VisualBlindArc=5,6,7 VisualRestrictedArc=4L,8L MaxVisibleDistance=7200.0 HasRWR=FALSE change the FALSE to TRUE. this will give you the beeps! (no direction, but it'll tell you when something is looking at you, and when they shoot)

Perhaps you should try to look for the european Meteor missile. Looks more or less similar to the PL-15. Little bit ini modding. Thats it.

Startups are only for people who want to do them. You can start hot and ready, or you can use a start key combo that automatically performs the startup procedure. Some aircraft like the F/A-18C, F-86F, and especially the F-5E are pretty easy to fly and fight, not much if any harder than SF2... but unlike SF2 the gunsight doesn't track off the HUD glass, you can record and play back missions, experience/view ejection, and if you are really determined, try your hand at refueling. Carrier ops in VR can't be beat and unlike SF2, there is no problem seeing over the nose when flying at the correct angle of attack and landing speed. But I do own quite a few flight manuals, so I really enjoy getting to apply them. I like being proficient in as many aircraft as I can. The hardest part is remembering what controls are mapped to what buttons since I have to use the same game controllers to mimic such an incredibly wide variety of control strategies.

LOL...And when an SF series player like me watches that video, I'm reminded exactly why DCS World is not my primary sim and probably won't ever be even years from now. Back in the day when I was younger and had more time, totally different probability. Now I'm just too old and too busy to spend days understanding the flight manual, 15 minutes getting through a cockpit start-up and clearance sequence and then finally I'm actually airborne - hopefully for more than 5 minutes - before I'm reminded that I forgot to press the aux pressure switch parked in the bottom cockpit panel and crash into the ground. LOL. Anyway, to each their own.

When an SF series player watches that video, they can get an idea why DCS World became my primary sim years ago. When WOV added aircraft carriers to the SF series, it was a big deal for me. When SF2 North Atlantic improved naval operations, that was pretty sweet, too. But flying an F/A-18C or F-14B in DCS right now is already dramatically more fun as well as looking far better and being almost as realistic as possible. When this comes out and all the major bugs are worked out, even the FSX/P3D/XP civil sim crowd will have to admit that they can't compete. This is coming to my hard drive very soon, so I guess it is a good thing I got my F-14B proficiency way up a month ago. But I need to jump back in the Hornet. I have been flying the MiG-21bis for the past couple of weeks and wasn't flying much at all for a couple of weeks when things were just too busy at home.

Then his wingman pops up in head-on attack, so I light the 'burners and roll inverted to spoil his angles... Then it's on the deck all the way home..

A-10's flying Red Flag hops out of Nellis (with thanks to Gunrunner for the ACMI loadout solution).. Brrrttt!!! Friendly armour moving forward to mop up... And a pass at the gunnery range on the way home to use up the last of the ammo..

Currently SF2 (under W10) with the whole TW addons run works well ! Really what's new ? Should we start from scratch ? "Free" ok I understand but I expect a major evolution. Excuse me... TW practices the art of recycling. So wait and see !

We are lucky as we live across the road from the beach so we can take the kids (5 of them!) out for a run around to stay sane! I have to work throughout so my wife is holding the fort when I'm on duty. If things get worse its reasonable I will get directly exposed at some point at a call so I will then go straight into isolation away from home to protect our asthmatic daughter. They will be on thier own from then...
