SF2 NAA B-45A & B-45C Pack by Veltro2k 3/16/2021 -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods" This is the release of the North American B-45 "Tornado" light jet bomber. This was the first jet bomber in USAF service, and the 1st one (USAF) with 4 jet engines. There are 2 aircraft in this package, all representing aircraft from the 47th Bomb Wing, as stationed in the UK in the early to mid 1950s. Please note, these are the BOMBER version =ONLY=. In this you have: B-45A: 86th Bomb Squadron B-45C: 85th Bomb Squadron All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All serial numbers are 100% historically accurate. On the "A" model's number list any marked with a star (*) have been 100% matched to the 86th BS, those without, while serving in the 47th BW, could not be matched to a specific squadron. As there were only 10 "C" bomber variants built, I've assigned them to the 85th; in Real Life (tm) only a few C's made it to squadron service, and those were intermixed with the A's already in service. All necessary parts have been provided, with one caveat. The Mk.7 (61kt) nuclear bomb dose =NOT= include the nuke explosion effect. As there are several around, you End Users (tm) may need to do some editing/renaming. I use the one from the Gunny Ordinance Pack. The skin template is included, as are the templates for the tail and nose squadron color flashes. As another B-45 exists from "elsewhere", these 2 have been differentiated in their Displayed Name on the aircraft Drop Down Selector. You'll see: B-45A Tornado (V2K) and B-45C Tornado (V2K) This shows it Veltro's build, even if you don't/can't get "the other one". As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE READ THEM!!! Also, please read the "Notes" for other info, and some operational suggestions. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein ========================

The Mark 4 Mod. 0 HIPEG 20mm gun was the USN version of the USAF SUU-16 / SUU-23. It wasn't used very often in the Vietnam War with the exception of the VAL-4 "Black Ponies" squadron they liked and regularly outfitted it for use on their OV-10 Broncos. The USMC later put the Mark 4 on A-4 Skyhawks, A-6 Intruders, and F-4 Phantoms for close air support. There is also a modified version with different fairings and spent shell chute that was found on the H-34 helicopter. The Mark 4 Mod. 0 (MN 10121a) The GPU-2/A. Check the pivot axis in the FC Radar, they must be aligned in the same way, looking at the picture I can tell you that the X axis in the radar is looking on the oposite side of the gun. In 3dmax reset the pivot using the X-form tool . That should work.

Lockheed F-104H Starfighter for STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 This is a simple mod of the stock Third Wire F-104G to create a fictional F-104H in service with the Fuerza Aérea Argentina in the 1968-2006 timeline and with markings for; Grupo 8 (SEA Camo) Grupo 6 (Lo-Viz Grey N.B. StartDefaultDate=1983) Grupo 4 (Green/Grey Camo) BACKSTORY During the Spring of 1965 the Fuerza Aérea Argentina formally issued an operational requirement for a supersonic fighter-bomber to supplement and eventually replace it's F-86 Sabre force and to operate alongside the Douglas Skyhawks that were just entering service. The BAC Lightning was quickly ruled out as being short on range and undeveloped in the air-to-ground role and by the end of 1965 Fuerza Aérea Argentina officials declared that the choice was between the Dassault Mirage III and the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. Lockheed had proposed a new variant, the F-104H, a projected export version based on the F-104G but with an optical gunsight and simplified equipment. Following a visit by Lockheed representatives to the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires in early July 1966 the newly inaugurated President Juan Carlos Onganía announced that 36 F-104H's would be procured for the Fuerza Aérea Argentina. Entering service in March 1968 with Grupo 8 de Caza at the Military Air Base Mariano Moreno the F-104H's served until 2006 when the last Starfighters operating anywhere in the world were finally retired. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the F-104H folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the F-104H folder into your Decals folder. That's it! I've kept the loadouts to basic stock weapons but if you have Argentine weapons in your install then it's worth editing the F-104H_Loadout.ini to suit what you have. CREDITS As always, thanks to Third Wire for a great little game/sim. And, finally, thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 27/03/2021

i´m working on a new F-4B model for SF2 and need a bit help 1. based on the tactical manual from September 1972 for the F-4B was the AERO-3B launchrail used on early F-4B versions , antil when was this Aero-3B / AIM-9B used in the Navy ??? i assume that with the AIM-9D service start ( about 1966 ) the LAU-7A launchrail was used also for the AIM-9B 2. the F-4B was able to carry 1 AIM-7 on the inner wing pylon , did that continou for all Navy versions of the F-4 , i have pictures showing the AIM-7 on inner wing pylon on F-4N dont know with later versions 3. is there a way to limit the drag chute to be used on land based airfields only , i now that we have some entrys so the chute can only be dployed with a certain air speed dont know if there is a way for land based airfields to if anybody knows some answers please let me know

The best I've managed to do so far is to create a dummy object then link the fuselage and everything else to it, set the dummy object pivot point to where the main wheels touch the ground and set it up as a dummy flap.....this will then rotate the whole aircraft whatever amount you want, you can get the shock and wheels etc to extend as needed.......pilots and seats dont move with the fuse though....just some tweaks needed there I tthink, all pylons have to be set as rotating pylon and recessed missiles also need a dummy pylon to make them work......sounds pretty easy eh?......nope, not worth all the effort too much pissing about for a bit of eye candy.,

Ok I understand, I'll leave it alone. You just saved me from headaches trying to make 'filter' works. I will go ahead with simple methods by just editing aircraft's name in .ini files. By the way, for a bright side, I just began working on a new menu mods for SF2 with new GUI styles. I got inspired after seeing how the menu are set up, and I want to use my GUI design skills to make a new menu mod. If I ever get stuck, I'll post the questions in modding section. If it goes well later, I will post a mod here. For now, here is my rough design of the new menu, it is inspired by Jane's Fighter Anthology: Cheers!

Wrench Kevin Stein ======================== To Install: As always reccomended, unzip the "sf2_b45a-c_pack.zip" to a temp folder or your desktop or somewhere that's easy to find. Copy/Paste the /Objects folder DIRECTLY into the SF2 game install of choice's /Objects folder. It's already divided into the various sub-folders used by SF2. ------------------------------- = NOTES: For all interested, the RB-45C recce bird from the 2010 MAX files I've been hanging on to, has been sent to RussoUK. As soon as Russ gets caught up on his projects, and fixes the myriad screw-ups on the this, we'll have the recon version. I've very aware the FM is a bit "overmodeled", expecially in releation to engine power. But, research shows that these did routinely out run (the recces for the most part) Mig-15s at pretty much all altitudes. I have the Pilot's Manual for anyone wishing to study or dispute any numbers. Or for anyone wishing to fine tune the FM. While the A carries no external wingtip tanks, this variant of the C does. In reality, they are removable (bolt-ons) and were added when the mission called for it. These tanks, while seperate items, have the "NoJettisonTank=TRUE" statement. So, don't bother trying. As the aircraft has no offensive guns, I've kept it strictly to the mission tasking as USAFE had -- conventional strike with GP 500 pound bombs (24), and "special attack" using the T-10 Tallboy or the Mk.7 nuke (61 kt version set in the loadout ini). There is no CAS/Armed Recon or Anti-Ship tasking. The entire produciton run of the bombers served in Europe as deterants against the Reds. You do have functioning ground mapping radar (the usual) AND a working bombsight for altitude bombing. Anything else you'll have to use 'Kentucky Windage', as there's no other in-cockpit sighting methods. Now, if the game engine would actually ALLOW the aircraf to fly at it's normal 20k feet altitude...there is MOST definately something wrong in the game's AI routines. But, we knew that anyway. Even using the AI statements (LevelBombAI) set to 9000m, the damn bird stays well below that. The Strike_Heavy (Tallboy) & Strike_Nuc can be accessed via the in-game mission editor, and are selectable on the "Loadout" drop down. Enjoy! ----------------------------- Credits: Veltro2k for the aircraft The Wrench : skins, all ini work, decals, screens, etc 3W for the cockpit Crusader for the K-14 sight from the PappaRomeo WW2 gunsight pack & the WW2 style verticle bombsight ?? for the Tallboy & Mk.7 nuke Sources: Forgotten Jets Joe Baugher's Serial Number site ------------ If you have any problems, questions, comments, I can be reached in the usual places; CombatAce, SimHQ, or the usual p0rn sites. Brief progress report on the B.E.2a FM - now flies correctly, and barely. Stats: - top speed 118 kph at about 300 m alt. - top speed 95 kph at ceiling limit of about 2800 m alt. - stall buffeting below 70 kph - spins below 55 kph or so (get out of spins as quickly as possible or the g-forces will "borrow" your wings and forget to give them back - I think that's about as obtuse as I can phrase that ) - at SL it is possible to push it to about 121 kph or so - loops are not recommended, and hardly possible on the type, unless you are willing to risk losing flying surfaces - elevators are good in dives to about 200 kph, then the nose comes up again (the B.E.2c dives more effectively) - best climb rate about 1.5 m/s at 90 kph can be sustained to approx. 2000 m alt. ----- Have also modified some aspects of the B.E.2c data ini too, in conjunction with work on the 2a: - bit more power from the engine now - top speed about 121 kph at 300 m alt. - can be pushed to about 126/7 kph near SL (this makes sense since recorded historical top speed of about 116 kph on the B.E.2c, if we believe the stats, was taken at around 1800 m alt.) - have also included some prop RPM changes on the B.E.2c, and more subtle power nos. across different altitudes (engine power changes/drops every 500 m now, or so, instead of the stock 1000 m gap that was in the earlier data ini for the 2c); same types of changes applied to the B.E.2a as well - loops not very manageable on the B.E.2c either, from what I've been able to test - best climb rate about 1.7 m/s at 90 kph can be sustained to approx. 2000 m alt. ----- Now to test how the AI lands the B.E.2a, and also to dogfight against it in an Eindecker E.I - hope to have the finished files uploaded here in a few days. Some representative pics. below. Cheers all, Von S

i have a question regarding the Chaff/Flare dispenser used by the USN /USMC on the F-4 Phantom , it seams that the early F-4B did not have them , if so what year did this dispenser show up and on wich F-4 models was it used ??? i have pictures from F-4J / N /S with this dispenser , not so sure about the F-4B and i think the RF-4B / C used them to
