5 pointsGreat to be here and just getting started in Strike Fighters 2 ! Only into moddable air combat sims , and this fills the bill. Not perfect, but what is ? Always been into WWI and mostly WWII era aircraft .Started with CFS1 and still big into CFS3 ,also IL-2 1946. Wanted to get into jets as something different but not too complicated like Falcon 4.0 BMS ,but also not arcade like either.Once i get use to to flying and surviving stage ,then i can maybe start adding mods .That is one of the fun things too. Have 11 installs of CFS3 ,2 IL-2 '46 ,FS-WWI ,EAW, FEG and now the SF2 series. Really liking this sim and only wish i pulled the trigger long ago when it first came out. Better late than never ! Regards , Scott

4 pointsI try to make a Battle of Britain campaign, which is historical correct as possible. We have now a He-111, so it is possible. What we still need is a Me-110. I dont know, wheter it is possible to include Anti-Ship missions into a campaign. It would be nice to start with the convoi battles in the English Channel. For single missions it is possible. Alpha Guardian Eagles ANG Skinpack for F-15A(85) This semi historical mod adds the Air National Guard Squadrons that used the F-15A as well as the 32d Tactical Fighter Squadron that used the F-15A MSIP aircraft from late 1991 until disbanding in 1994 The mod includes tail, unit and nose markings for 9 F-15A squadrons (plus two low visibilty sets) as operated by the Air National Guard. NOTE I say this is a semi historical mod. To save myself research time, it uses modified TW serials. the numbers are the same, i just reduced the opacity to fit the look of the markings better. Included Objects folder with needed Aircraft and Decal folders Required: Either Viper63a's Eagle Superpack or if you prefer the original FastCargo's Eagle Superpack it will work with either, as it it just skins and decals Installation install the F-15A(85) aircraft from the above mod of your choice (following their directions within that mod) unzip. move objects folder to the mod folder of your choice. allow overwrites if needed (shouldnt be any but in case,) Credits Viper63a: whom i am certain i swiped the actual textures from for the skins TW: original serial number, F-15 squadron tail, and innner tail tga, textures Wrench: hiang serial numbers daddyairplanes: upscaling, tweeking, and opacity reduction of TW unit markings, new markings, skin folders by unit, and much time hunting google for pics of the real aircraft in that era i hope you enjoy this simple little mod. It satarted with me taking a look in my old mod folders, prior to loading up new installs. i didnt like what i saw, so i changed it. But maybe you will like this addition too. 3 pointsMaybe it doesn't work, because you have "Position=" 2x mentioned for each of the decals 6, 7, 14, 15? I guess the first one works in SF2, but is "outside" the tailfin (0.0 is in the center of the fuselage I think) and the second statement is ignored. In LOD-Viewer maybe the second statement isn't ignored and so you'll see the decal, although you have given 2 position-statements for it.

SF2 F-102A (v2k) Greek Air Force Skin Pack 6/19/2021 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) Two new skins for Veltro's F-102A Delta Dart Interceptor. These represent the Greek Air Force versions from 1968 until their retirement in 1979. The skins are: ADC Grey SEA 3 Tone All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. All 20 Serial numbers are 100% historically correct. The SF2 'date switch' is used to swap from the Grey to 3 Tone in 1974. Also included are: Updated data ini with minor FM adjustements (a backup of the original is also provided for safety's sake) Updated Loadout ini with F-102 specific weapons The F-102 specific weapons themselves (just to be safe!) Updated Userlist with Greece & Turkey added Damage Tgas (finally!) Main ini (F-102A.ini) with the "v2k" tag added to the displayed name. This will differentiate this model from that by Razbam, for those that may have that payware version. This means that you'll see... F-102A Delta Dagger (V2K) on the aircraft selection drop down on the main mission screen. A backup of this ini is also provided. The new ini included here is "clean", with no texture listings. When the game is started, it will automatically re-populate with YOUR skins. This mod package is designed to be applied to MigBuster's Upgraded Version available at the following URL: https://combatace.com/files/file/9446-f-102a-delta-dagger-veltro2k/ As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! Also, the Notes section has more details on the changes. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein -

PER READ ME : SF2 O-1E RCAF Service A bit of history : Cessna 305 Bird Dog, L-19E (Serial Nos. 16717-16735). The Canadian Army originally called No. 1 Air Observation Post No. 1 Air Observation Post Flight (Type A) (Army Component), Royal Canadian Artillery. This was changed to No. 1 Air Observation Post Flight (Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery) on 15 Feb 1957. Both used the same abbreviation of No. 1 AOP Flt. No. 1 AOP moved to Hemer, Germany in March 1960 at Fort Prince of Wales and where it was redesignated as No. 1 Air Observation Post Troop. They were attached to the 1st Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery as part of 4 Canadian Infantry Brigade Group. No. 1 AOP Tp moved to Lahr in southern Germany in 1970 with the rest of the Brigade and on 1 Oct 1972, No. 1 AOP Tp and the three other Army aviation elements within 4 CMBG; including the Command and Liaison Flight 4 CMBG HQ, Aircraft Repair Platoon 4 Service Battalion and Helicopter Reconnaissance Troop, C Squadron Royal Canadian Dragoons, were amalgamated and became No. 444 Tactical Helicopter Squadron. -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) **NOTE: you have to get the SF2 Cessna O-1E BirdDog Upgrade Pak -for 3rdWire O-1E- located at : https://combatace.com/files/file/12268-cessna-o-1e-birddog-upgrade-pak-for-3rdwire-o-1e/ in order to make this work as it's not a completed plane that is included, just the files to add the RCAF schemes/Sqn. Serials and units are the real one's for the O-1E in service with the RCAF Royal Canadian Air Force : 1957 - JATC 1957 - No. 1 AOP Flt. 1957-1965 - No. 1 AOP Trp. 1965-1970 - No. 1 AOP Trp. 1970-1974 - No. 4 CMBG HQ 1972-2005 - Royal Canadian Air Cadets *** Make a back-up of the original files if you do not like the current work *** - Delete the Objects/Decals/O-1E/Canada folder - Delete the Objects/Aircraft/O-1E/Canada folder Copy/Paste the /Objects folder DIRECTLY into the SF2 game install of choice's /Objects folder. It's already divided into the /Aircraft and /Decals sub-folders. .ini editing : - In the ORIGINAL O-1E.ini, remove the [TextureSet???] associated with the Canada nation from the file. - Add the entries from the O-1E.ini file of this pack and change numbers in the sequence accordingly in order for the whole thing to work as intended. ----------------------------- Credits : Thirdwire for the SF2 series Wrench for the O-1E upgraded pack Harold A. This package may =NOT= in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions. ------------------------------------------- -
1 pointthe 2 seat Tub, not the single seat interceptor. What I've been trying to find out is .... Did the Greek AF ever have their whole fleet (5 birds) in the ADC Grey before switching to SEA 3 tone? I ask, because my research has only turned up 1 in grey; all the others are camo Along that line, my research seems to indicate that the Turks (11 birds) kept their IN the grey throughout their service life. even the Detail & Scale book is letting me down on this ... and the internet just confuses me. more than usual. so, if anyone can shed some light on this; as the mod in nearing completion, I want to know if need to add those skins for the Greeks & Turks TIA!!!

1 pointgood catch Nyghtfall. my response was my first thought, hadnt looked as deep in the ini yet

1 pointdid you uncheck RLE compression when you exported the tga? when exporting, make sure that box DOES NOT have an "x" in it. happens all the time if the file size for the affected tga is way smaller than the others, open it, reexport without RLE compression, then close it back out. this issue will do as youre saying, be visible in lod viewer but not in game
-
1 pointThat is noted. Using LOD Viewer really saved my time a lot. I am able to work on Mirage III C new camo and align everything well. Here is screenshot (WIP) of Paran Mirage IIIC:
-
1 pointhow do you mean mouse scroll wheel zooms in and out alt + mouse movement rotates around axis shift + mouse moevement moves the object around (front back etc) without rotation
-
1 pointare you using Mue's LOD viewer? makes life so, so much easier as you can check your skin progress just by refreshing teh skin choice. also works to view decal work

1 pointI FINALLY did it, I learned how to do the basic camouflage painting (by using spray mode in GIMP), sorted the layers (Thank to templates), added new items as a new layer, and created new symbols and texts arts as .TGA. I still need to learn the tricks of combining and aligning camos when applying it on separated sections of wings, like F-100 as an example. Advice on this is much appreciated, as mentioned above. By the way, here are screenshots: (Note: Still in 1024 x 1024 version. I will need to learn how to apply 2048 x 2048 version though.)

1 pointThis is me...or rather, this was me, as at the end of the mission (which continues, so I may be hit again). I've been well and truly plastered with hits, including one from an APDS round. Which one finished me off, I don't bother checking. At least two Fireflies are still in action... ...but we got several of the others... Closer in, the battlefield is littered with knocked-out Sherman 75s. There's also a troop of Churchills which I hadn't noticed, like this one which is immobilised but still shooting. As for our Tigers, all four are lost. This one was my number two... While these two were on either flank. from the large craters, they look like the victims of an air attack which I didn't notice, closed up and in the heat of battle. SF missions can have variable elements so I'm looking forward to playing this one again - but with different tactics. Even if you've got the STA 3.4 or ITM mods, a second install with the Japanese Community Mod is a must have, IMHO, given the distinct content. If you like Steel Fury (cheap on Steam and Gamersgate) and haven't got either...what are you waiting for?! Good hunting!
