9 pointsDevelopment The M-84 is based on the Soviet T-72 but with many modifications, including introducing domestic fire-control system that T-72 lacked, improved composite armor, and a 1000-hp engine. The M-84 entered service with the Yugoslav People's Army in 1984. The improved M-84A version entered service a few years later. Other variants where introduced later, most of them are modernization packages. M-84AB (Yugoslavia) – Kuwaiti version of the M-84A. Additionally, the M-84AB is fitted with new communication and intercom systems. The Kuwaiti 35th Ash-Shahid (Martyr's) Armoured Brigade, armed with several dozen M-84ABs, took part in Operation Desert Storm. During the fighting, only two M-84AB's were lost, but both were later recovered. Kuwait originally ordered over 200 tanks but received only 150 before the break-up of Yugoslavia and the resulting end of its production. All instruments translated on English/Arabic language.

5 pointsThank you Menrva, yes I am far away from Forest fires. I hope to God that these fires will be brought under control and they have already managed to put out 70 out of 80 fires. It was more than handfull The Kuwaiti 35th Al-Shaheed Armored Brigade was equipped with 70 M-84s. During the retaking of the country. Happy to be part of this great team.

3 pointswell put. thats why this would be a standalone install, to avoid breaking similar but slightly different mods for those that have continued on with it, there has been a large amount of work put in. the ini edits you mention arent really hard or major. until you make that edit across dozens or hundreds of files those that can adjust or cherrypick to their liking will do so. those that dont know how but want to learn will also do so, but ask publicy how to fix their mistakes (while being answered by some and scolded by some) those that cant and dont want to learn, sit back and enjoy the show as its been brought to you!

2 pointsIts basically what-if dhimari flavoured evolution of B-57G, only intended not just for nighttime truck hunting with LGBs , but also for CAS and battlefield interdiction ( which i guess would be more of a priority for a small country dealing with enemy tank regiments sitting at the border ) . Here's its origin story:

2 pointsSo few months passed. We had a few bugs reports that we were able to sort out. And since we wanted to improve things a little more we created bugs and we fixed them...So everyone can think that we were really busy working on this mod. But more seriously. We made a lot of changes to many objects in the game. Mostly to find a way - how to 'fool' the game. As you might know ECM pods are not working properly (or not at all) - so many aircrafts have ECM pods added into aircraft.data ini and mostly permanently added into a loadout. So you might find that some pylons can not be edited on loadout menu. Why? After brainstorms, we decided that the best way is to find some 'wonderful solution' between game engine limitations, and real-deal 30 years ago. We treated in the same way targeting pods, decoy dispensers, and sometimes even IR missiles on wingtips - honestly, it is really not necessary to edit them on the loadout menu. Wingtips loaded no need to change anything there. Also, players will not have a choice in different types of missiles (because we limited as much as possible availability of weapons too). Players will not find US Navy weapons in RAF or French loadout menu. We even limited weapons in the US arsenal - so now the Navy carry thermally protected bombs - and have no access to common USAF ordnance. And so on. Of course, not always everything is perfect But we did our best. Hope. We (me myself at least) highly recommend using loadout presets - that were made with lot of research. Either you play a single mission or campaign. Loadout.ini is a way to go. (Unless we planted a bug somewhere, that we are not aware of yet.) We are aware that many things can still improve, but this is SF2...not everything is perfect, not everything is possible, but still, the game is moddable - so something is wrong or I do not like it - notepad and problem fixed. We remove some stuff that we were not satisfied with, and we added some new. Hope the day you will be able to download the next version you will be positively surprised.

Minimum Requirements Required products from ThirdWire: Strike Fighters 2, July 2013 patch Strike Fighters 2: Israel, July 2013 patch Strike Fighters 2: North Atlantic, July 2013 patch Full support for: Mission Editor DLC Campaign Customizer DLC System specs: OS: Windows 7 x86 Processor: Dual Core 2.7 GHz Memory: 4.0 GB RAM Hard Drive: 17.0 GB Free Space Video Card: 1024 MB DirectX 10 Sneak Peek Disclaimer CombatACE.com shall at all times retain ownership of the Software as originally downloaded by you and all subsequent downloads of the Software by you. Various contents of this modification are exclusive, as such you are NOT allowed to share, redistribute and/or make use of the mod and/or its contents for other purposes, without the consent of the mod's developers. Contents of the modification are the copyright of their respective authors. Notes about the installer Beware, the mod is available only in the ISO format. You can either mount it on a virtual drive, burn it on a DVD like in the good old days, or unzip it with 7-Zip or equivalent software. The installer will automatically detect your installation of the required Strike Fighters 2 games by reading through the registry keys. Game folders that are copied from or manually moved from where they were originally installed are not supported. You need all three aforementioned Strike Fighters 2 games and they must be installed with ThirdWire's original installers, not manually copied from other sources nor moved elsewhere after installation to other folders or drives. If you do not meet any of these requirements, installation cannot proceed and you are on your own. If you install all required games properly, the installation of the mod will proceed correctly as intended. The installer then lets you choose where to install the mod folder; you can even install the mod on a different drive or partition than the one where Strike Fighters 2 is installed. No further user input nor manual edits after installation are ever required; the installer takes care of creating all proper links to your desired path for the mod folder. After installation is over, simply run the mod by using the created Desktop and/or Start Menu links. If you have a previous version of the mod installed, please use the uninstaller to remove it completely. Clean installation is mandatory. You might want to make a backup of the Controls folder, so that you can easily restore your controller settings afterwards. Suggestions on common issues Make sure that you are using your dedicated GPU. By default, Strike Fighters 2 usually selects the integrated GPU you may have on your CPU, which is much weaker in terms of VRAM. In case you have frequent crashes or black/missing textures, I highly suggest you download and install the DXVK graphics wrapper (x86 DLLs) into your Strike Fighters 2 game folder: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk. You need a Vulkan-compatible GPU. The wrapper can greatly improve the experience with the mod. With DXVK I can play the mod on a mere Intel UHD 710, whereas without it the mod would always crash to desktop. Go to Sound and set Sound Channels to 32. We got reports that 16 is not enough and will cause crashes on some systems, due to the higher quality sounds included within the mod. The mod is pretty heavy for the game engine despite huge optimizations. Strike Fighters 2's engine is 32bit only and apparently does not manage VRAM properly; consecutive campaign missions might show black/missing textures on objects or cause crashes to desktop because the game does not release the occupied VRAM from the previous mission you played, thus the more missions are loaded consecutively, the more easily you may run out of memory. Set Ground Objects to Medium or Low, Horizon Distance to Near, and Shadows to Medium or Low. These are the most troubling settings. Avoid Unlimited settings as much as possible. If the mod used to work and suddenly crashes to desktop, updating or reinstalling video drivers should help. Make sure that DirectX June 2010 Redistributables are also installed, they are included inside the ISO disk image of the mod. Inside the mod folder, you'll find some extra text files. "(Coalition Order of Battle)" should be of your interest; the mod's terrain covers the entirety of Iraq, at the cost of not having all of Saudi Arabia; this means that a number of important units are based on airbases that are beyond the in-game playable area. With those units you always spawn near the target area, you'll never get to start from a runway nor to land on the assigned runway beyond the invisible wall. You have an entire list of the affected units in the aforementioned text file. By pressing ALT+N, the plane returns to base automatically. The mod is fully compatible with the Campaign Customizer and Mission Editor DLCs by ThirdWire. The Campaign Customizer might be an alternative way to experience those off map units I mentioned previously, since it assigns you to a random airbase of the in-game flyable area. Escort missions are often broken, this is not an issue of the mod, but a bug of the stock game; sometimes the AI flight you escort does not engage its target and keeps flying in a straight line instead of following waypoints, thus the trigger for mission success will never happen. Abandon the mission or retry it if the issue happens, sometimes it works. Pray for ThirdWire AKA Tsuyoshi Kawahito to work on a 64bit version of Strike Fighters 2, maybe even with support for DirectX 12. With that done, any out of memory issues should become an old memory. -

1 pointDear friends, Despite the wonderful weather behind the window that would direct anyone's thoughts towards a vacation, the IL-2 team continues to work at the fastest rate possible in all planned directions. For the most massive one of them, the Battle of Normandy, a number of significant results were achieved during the last few weeks. For instance, the work on the Normandy map objects, including the ones needed for temporary ports in the beachhead area, German fortifications, unique city buildings, and stationary radars are nearly complete. We can already show you some of them in the sim: In addition, we started the final production stage of P-51B we're creating for the Battle of Normandy. We want to deliver this famous and long-awaited plane to all BoN customers as soon as possible. There are good news about Flying Circus Vol. II as well -the Western Front map is progressing well and we plan to show it in our Dev Blog soon, while today we can show you two coming airplanes at once: early SPAD 7.C1 with 150 HP engine and two-seater bomber Airco D.H.4: And finally, Sd.Kfz.10/5 with 20mm Flak 38, the second player controllable mobile AA gun, is nearly complete as well. Here are its screenshots in the sim: You can discuss the news in this thread

1 pointWell, i am trying my hand at some basic modding - basically making a fictional, heavily updated late 80s b-57 with phantom cockpit , f-16 hud, and all kinds of pgm capabilities . I have figured out most of the basic stuff about cockpit and avionics i needed, but one thing still eludes me. Guns on my plane are angled slightly downward (to help with strafing) . With basic cockpit and hud import, this means that gunsight is pointing high above the actual point of aim. I have used the viewangles variable in cockpit.ini, and it does work well - but it only seem to work for A/A lead computing mode. ViewAngles=0.0,-3.5,0.0 But when i select the guns in air to ground mode (strf) , fixed gunsight is still locked in way too high position, way above the line of fire - and i was not able to get it down by any means. So, any idea how could i bring the gun reticle into proper position in a/g mode? Or alternatively, how to force the plane to use the lead computing sight in A/G mode instead of fixed one?

1 pointI'm proud to announce the second official release of Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition, now reaching version 0.9.5. Six months have passed since the first release (v0.9.0) of January 16th 2021, six months in which the development team did not rest, producing a wealth of tweaks, bug fixes and exclusive, brand new additions to this comprehensive package. Unwanted bugs found their way in the January release, due to time constraints and the team wanting to meet the deadline in time for the 30th anniversary of this historic operation. Now we offer a much more refined and expanded experience, with quality of life improvements and welcome bonuses. Be sure to read the massive (albeit summarized) change log (Operation Desert Storm: 30th Anniversary Edition - Early Access) to learn more about all of the efforts that went into this new release. The package is free for download to all official Modders and Subscribers of the site. Those whose 2021 6-month subscription plans expired have been granted access to the package at no extra cost. Users who acquired the mod via a 1-month subscription plan will have to renew it for access to this brand new release. CombatACE.com admins thank you for your support towards the monthly costs of the site.

1 pointI've heard there are bad fires in some parts of Turkey. I hope you're safe and away from them. It's great to see your interest on the M-84 tank I requested for the ODS 30AE total conversion mod. Kuwait only had a handful of them back then, still they are a worthy addition for this Gulf War anthology we've been working on for some 15 months. This Autumn I'm sure the ODS team will work on even greater things. It's my pleasure and privilege to be working with you, guys!

1 pointDear Pilots, Tankers and Gunners, Today we have a short Developer Diary for you that shows progress on the Normandy airfields and the cockpit our P-51B/C. As with our Rhineland map, the Normandy map will include historically accurate airfields. Here you can see how we match up period photos with our in-game map as we build them. And work continues on the P-51B/C cockpit and below are some WIP shots. Of course, there are some missing details as the work is ongoing and still quite early. We are confident the P-51B/C will be really awesome when completed. Enjoy! The Sturmovik Team
