5 pointsSitRep: I changed the colors of the taxiways. They are now lighter and easier to see from sky. Then i finished the giant airbase of Nikolajew East. It needs the entire space of 4 tiles, which means 4 x 4 kilometers.

2 pointsThe Soviets built very large airfields. But astonishingly there are no hardened aircraft shelters or other protection buildings.
-
1 pointUsual z-buffer issues. Make sure that the 3d models of your concrete bits have the same statements of stock TW runways in the _types.ini. I don't recall exactly the names of some properties, but one was about being flat and the other about a z-buffer offset.
-
1 pointNext airbase: Kriwoi Rog I have a litte problem with the shelters. I placed shelter2, that is the u-shaped wall, at the flat concrete areas. If i fly over this shelters at the certain altitudes they disappear below the concrete areas.

1 pointoverall, welcome to a truth of good SF2 modding: its about 75% hunting for pics and information, 15% setting things up/figuring things out to make the mod and about 10% actually making a mod plus or minus about 50% cussing when it doesnt work/when it does work

1 pointI have this with my (no modded) install ! I'm testing...

1 pointThank you for the video. About the sounds, it is fixed in the next version. The next version of Beta will be out by next week. It will cover all F-4s. Cheers

-
1 pointHello everyone! The afterburner effect for J79 was adjusted while RR Spey version got added. You can see the difference between them. in meanwhile, I am still awaiting for the feedback on beta. Here are J79 version: NOTE: I noticed vortex wing bug, I fixed it. I forgot to add "VortexG". Here are RR Spey version (You can see their afterburner is more whitish in color with a smoother afterburner.)
-
1 pointHello Beauty... full mod ! My feedback : the jet engine sound file does not run in my cleaned SF2 install. I don't know why because the afterburner sound file is ok. Best regards to everyone ! P.

1 pointSorry for delay. My plan to release a Beta version of the terrain was prevented by real life. So progress was slower than anticipated. I started to make the first ukrainian airfields from scratch. Starting from east to west. Here: Mariupol, Berdjansk and Melitopol.

1 pointsuch sad news about the Bleriot. That is good news that you have more time for First Eagles modding though. hopefully all is well with swarmbast.

1 pointBrief update to this thread and general musings. Hope all FE2-ers are doing well. In terms of the Bleriot project, the modeler working on the aircraft had a hard drive crash several months back and informed me that he will contact me in the future if he manages to retrieve most of the vital files. So far I have not heard from him since late last year, or thereabouts, so I am assuming at this point in time that the Bleriot project is no longer active. If the modder ever does contact me regarding the project, I will be happy to complete the FM (data ini) for the aircraft. In other news, I have now "officially" retired from WoFF and RoF modding - nothing really further to do for those sims from my end - so with the little free time that I have, providing that there is still interest and active fliers in FE2 -- I will (eventually) comb over a few aircraft that I never got to, such as the Snipe, one or two models by Stephen for the Italian front, and perhaps also his somewhat recently released Nieup. 21 - but I can't promise any specific dates in terms of when I will comb over those FMs. Depends really on how much interest there still is in FE2. (It is still my go-to sim for quick combat - since it is very easy to set up quick flights and the AI is challenging - although for campaigns I always go to the WoFF series.) Cheers all, Von S

1 pointYou're dreaming, SF2 never had true night vision capability.
-
1 pointOK, maybe dumb question, but is there a Night Vision mode? I thought there was, but can't seem to find it in the controls. Maybe I was dreaming.

1 pointHave been playing SF2 Europe, and North Atlantic for ages. Saw someone post some screen shots from SF2 on FB, and didn't realize there was still such a community about it and it still being supported. So I come here and find this Gulf War mod, and I was like YES, give me some of that. So I set out to reinstall a fresh copy. No where to be found. Got logged into Thirdwire to find that I could re-download (as I had purchased them years ago), SF2, SF2 Israel, North Atlantic and the SF2 update. Had no idea I had ever bought the Israel mod, don't remember playing it, so I have that to go through as well....but this Desert Storm mod (can I really call it a mod? Practically a whole brand new game), and I am hooked again! Campaigns using Jaguars, Tornados, Buccs, OV-10Bronco?!?!?!? And of course since I am Canadian, CF-18. All I can say AWESOME! And thank you to Menrva (and anyone else involved in this) for the pain staking details you have put into this!!!
