Finally not to forget the wonderful site of https://combatace.com and all the nice members and their dedicated support for this game. 1.0.1 By yakarov79 fixed collision points and hitboxes, fixed lights, and some small data issues reworked weapon stations, now it uses a common US 300gal tank, corrected attachment points for big and small bullpups, shrikes, and all weapons in general. new skins with new bump maps and specular maps, so nothing old will work now. I used my LAU-7 instead of that old one. now it has the correct proportions to AIM-9, I made a new launcher for AGM-12 and AGM-45 - Aero5A now weapons are properly attached to the launcher... added some small bits in the model and fixed some mapping issues, Additional credits: I have added all weapons that are stated in loadout.ini. all weapons are made by Ravenclaw Zuni rockets for launchers except two refueling pods made by nyghtfall from his A-4 pack. SKins represent pre-Vietnam War squadrons. First user VA-42 they were first in Intruder and was taking care of conversion and training for the US Navy. The second skin is for VA-75 short deployment, first for USS Independence and first for VA-75 on Intruder. Later in 1965, they deployed to Vietnam. As you've all guessed by now, I've been revamping The Mirage Factory birds for SF2. The 5BA for Belguim is the last of the Mirages still to do. However... for the life of me, I cannot get the RPK10 Kangrou bomb/fuel tank to load. I've updated the "weapon" to SF2 stnadard, double and triple checked everything and not only will it not load and carry the 4 Mk82s, but it don't even show up (as a fuel tank that is. I'm assuming -OH!!! that word!!! -- that the game thinks it's a MER of some type). This IS the BFT that came with the aircraft 'way back when. anybody got any ideas??? I mean, I could alwasy hang a TER on the inboards, or sling 2 bombs on the centerline only (such a waste to ONLY carry 2 into the heart of the enemy ...but whatever) all help is appriciated!! TIA!!

Just want to say how much I love this pack! I've been slowly adding the early NATO birds in to my SF2:Europe install, and added this pack last night. I did my own 'tank fix' before seeing this thread and existing fixes, but I get as much enjoyment from researching and tweaking the planes (as far as my limited knowledge allows) as I do 'flying them'. Haven't been tempted to fiddle with the FM for this mod or the othes Sabres (KAW, F-86F etc) aside from some very basic engine thrust tweaks, as I don't want to break anything. Massive thanks again to the community, all this amazing work is very much appreciated! KB

I just downloaded TMF Mirage 5BA from the SFP1 downloads section and there is no RPK10 included, neither as a built-in rack (like the stock Mirage 5BA has), nor as a separate weapon. I also checked one of TMF weapons packs and found 2 versions of the RPK10 in it. M3_RPK_C M3_RPK_V As far as I can see, the difference is that the M3_RPK_V has the pylon built-in, whereas the M3_RPK_C does not have a pylon. I made a quick test with the M3_RPK_C and it shows just fine in game on TMF Mirage 5BA without any modification to SF2 standards (just for the test): All I did was: 1. Add SpecificStationCode=RPK10 in the M3_RPK_C_Data.ini file. 2. Edit the weapon stations of the TMF Mirage 5BA as follows: [LeftWingIntStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=3 StationGroupID=2 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-2.155,-1.6,-0.805 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1000 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,RP,TER,BFT AttachmentType=FRANCE,NATO ModelNodeName=LeftInnerPylone PylonMass=72.58 PylonDragArea=0.02 RackSpecificStationCode=RPK10 [RightWingIntStation] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=4 StationGroupID=2 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=2.155,-1.6,-0.805 AttachmentAngles=0.0,0.0,0.0 LoadLimit=1000 AllowedWeaponClass=BOMB,RP,TER,BFT AttachmentType=FRANCE,NATO ModelNodeName=RightInnerPylone PylonMass=72.58 PylonDragArea=0.02 RackSpecificStationCode=RPK10 I used the specific station code entry to make sure I am getting exactly the M3_RPK_C model loaded for the purposes of the test. Please ignore the fact that the RPK10 appears hanging in the air with no pylon. I just made a quick test to make sure the model shows up in the game and did not take care of which weapon station or which RPK10 version (with or without pylon) I was using. Hope the above helps.

I find Korea a very interesting map to fly over. As for Afghanistan, I think there is one in Falcon I wonder if that could be ported into SF2 world?
  31. 1 point
DCS is coming out with an Afghanistan map (It's on pre-order) so that's about it. Without TK working on the title we're at where we're at right now, which is what modders can eek out of the game. Unfortunately, it's not much but they're finding new things to toy with and so on, but for the most part it's not being worked on (I'm just guessing since TK has moved to a more profitable mobile gaming). It's besting a dead horse by complaining about his lack of updates and so on. It's unfortunately trying to get the most out of a 2008 game.

Even though there is =NOT= a stock 3W Mirage IIIE, this is set up and labeled to cause NO conflicts with any (other) Mirages available within the game. Skins remain in their original bmp format. All necessary items are provided, weapons, pilots, seats, sounds, effects, and so forth (most weapons used ARE stock 3W items, excepting drop tanks). A new User List has also been created (see note about that in the "Notes" below). Everything needed is supplied, excepting those weapons used that are stock 3W items. Skins remain in their original bmp format. July 2020 =============== Hellenic Air Force F-5A Freedom Fighter Volume I VERSION 1.0 ------------------------------------------------------------ F-5A variants included in the Package: HAF F-5A standard version (1965 - 1974) HAF F-5A with Martin Baker IRQ-7a ejection seat (1975 - 1999) HAF Rf-5A reconnaissance variant with 4 K-92a cameras We are proud to present the F-5A HAF Volume I, the first of many to come, focusing on one of the most enduring American military aircraft designs ever produced during the Cold War period. This first Volume depicts the following Hellenic Air Force variants; the HAF F-5A standard, the HAF F-5A with the Martin Baker IRQ-7a ejection seat, and the HAF RF-5A reconnaissance variant. It has been our goal to provide to the simmer a highly detailed model and texture base which preserve the beautiful lines of this aircraft; and to engineer flight files and a cockpit/gauge file-set that are authentic and add to the immersion of the flying experience within the Strike Fighters 2 series. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: -------------------------- 1. Copy the contents of the "To Mods Folder(S)" to your SF2 Mod directory. Allow directory merging and overwrites, provided the overwrites pertain to "fake pilot" entries, as well as weapons made by ravenclaw_007, which are included in this and many other releases. 2. Add the entries of "ADD_TO_SOUNDLIST.txt" to your SOUNDLIST.INI (located in the "user\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Flight" folder). If one does not exist, then you will need to extract it using the 3rdWire CAT extract utility. You are simply required to substitute the "XXX"s with the next sequential number in the sound file section of the file. NOTE 1: ------------ Both Regular and Higher resolution cockpit textures are included in their own distinct folders in the package. The user may alternate between the two by "commenting out" the relevant line in the F-5A_STANDARD_COCKPIT.ini [CockpitData] //Directory=cockpit Directory=cockpit_Lo-Fi <---This is the default In order to "activate" the higher resolution textures you would decomment the previous line and comment out the next line, thus: [CockpitData] Directory=cockpit <---This is now Hi-Res //Directory=cockpit_Lo-Fi NOTE 2: ------------ Another frame-rate friendly option for those with older hardware is to use the Next level of Detail Model as the primary external model. This simply involves changing the first line in the F-5A_HAF.ini from this.. [LOD001] Filename=F-5A_STANDARD.LOD to this.. [LOD001] Filename=F-5A_STANDARD_002.LOD Much effort was made to provide those with lower end systems an alternative lower poly-model to be able to enjoy the F-5a, so please take advantage of this _002.LOD model should you experience frame-rate issues. While not as "rounded" as the Higher poly version, it is nonetheless just as detailed and extensive. NOTE 3: ------------ For those who may find loading times excessive, the .jpg files in the texture folders can be reduced to 50% of their size without sacrificing too much surface detail. Base sounds, by Guuruu, were sourced from existing recordings of various aircraft at air-shows and were modified to match the prominent characteristics of the F-5A General Electric turbojets, the "buzz" of the M39 Pontiac 20mm machinegun, and the flap/Air-brake, undercarriage deployment and retraction sequences of the Freedom Fighter. * Super detailed 'Virtual Cockpit' with animated throttle control, rudder pedals, control stick, landing gear lever, canopy, canopy lever, drag-chute lever, weapons selectors and weapon station arming flick switches. *Accurate and functional representation of the Norair F-5A gun sight, with animated Mils selector and accompanying animated combining glass. (Mechanics by Crusader) * A full complement of highly (or should I say "insanely" detailed HAF weapons carried by the HAF F-5A, all by ravenclaw_007. * Complex animation of canopy opening mechanism, and animated Turbine blades; both thanks to ravenclaw_007 * GKAB's superb highly detailed crew figure with authentically modeled oxygen mask and flight helmet. * All new afterburner, emitter, and engine smoke effects by Guuruu. ****************************************************** PILOT NOTES ----------- F-5A Limit and Reference Speeds. [Indicated Airspeeds] FLAPS: 300kts for both leading and trailing edge. NOTE: The F-5A uses full flaps for take off but due to a game bug you must manually select full flaps for take off when player flown.
