Just another update I had to restart the MT-LB model all over again from scratch. Thanks to yakarov79 for sharing his file with me, I learned some tricks from his work, this is how it looks now, it’s almost completed and I should release it soon. I hope you like it, once again I extend my thanks and gratitude to yakarov79 for his help and sharing his work.

Thanks. Again, Crawford was an immense help with researching details for this aircraft.

The relevant entry to toggle in the data ini is: ExhaustEmitterName=MGSmokeEmitter (for the MS type G 25 and 45 hp variants) Possibly an emitter with the same name is missing in FE/FEgold? I will create a separate emitter for the cigarette smoke since the MGSmokeEmitter needs to be toned down further for it. Von S

Lovely pic Crawford...yes, the two-seater variant may have a wingspan in the 8.5 to 10.5 meter range approximately, likely a longer fuselage too, at least in the 8-9 meter range. There are so many size variations for the Bleriots but the two-seater variant should be larger than the one-seater type no matter the variations. I'm sure that some of the two-seater types were frequently flown as one-seater arrangements too, although I've also read that, without a passenger, the two-seater type becomes extremely unstable longitudinally (from tail to nose)...see the Harriet Quimby crash for more info. on this. Perhaps Mikael Carlson is flying the one-seater type later variant, with Gnome rotary...have viewed the Carlson clips and overall his has better handling/control than the Anzani type, although it still tends to float in turns. Happy flying, Von S

Here is one of the possible "prototypes" of the Bleriot-XI Type 2 which Geezer is building. I have a small walkaround of this Italian-built aircraft. Unfortunately, the cockpit interior is not available for inspection. Apparently, this may have a slightly increased size compared with a single seat Bleriot XI. Control of wing warping through chain transmission rarely occurs on aircraft of this type...

The "engine overheating" effect that I have for the Anzani-powered MS type G from the ver. 9.1 FM update pack could be modified further for this...I will look into it when tweaking the FM...light, occasional smoke is desirable but not too much ... will see how realistic it looks. Von S

Yes, apparently, there is installed some modern engine. This is definitely not anAnzani. While Mikael Carlson's aircraft powered with the newly manufactured (or ideally restored?) Gnome rotary engine. These days it is a big rarity! Since in our case we are talking not about the Bleriot XI, but about the two-seat Bleriot XI-2 with a more powerful engine with a cowling, the Carlson's airplane more closely matches what Geezer does. P.S. By the way, when the old manual to the Gnome engine says: “When the engine started and you can hear from its sound that it is running at full power, the pilot checks the number of revolutions by the oil pulsation in the glasses. The normal “Gnome” engine speed is 1200 rpm value corresponds to 84 pulses per minute.) If a tachometer is installed, which is highly desirable, the pilot checks the revs by the tachometer. "

Did some playing around with a possibility of adding the F-35 to my JSDF 2020 mission pak, found it just didn't make sense with the current SF2 weapons load. That said, did automate F-2As attacking simultaneously to send sinking the Udaloy & 2 Ro-Ros just right on their own...

I meant that in FE it's impossible to overheat the engine. In 1st Gens, engine overheating for piston engines is simply absent, at least with the Nov 2008 patch installed.

Good thread this, even if I'm a little late to the party. Lima makes a great case for BoB2 and demonstrates why it deserves its reputation as by far the most accurate and comprehensive simulator of the Battle of Britain. I simply offer my case for European Air War as a credible contender for the silver medal:

Agreed. A lot of talented people have made the sim what it is today. Speaking for myself, it's a fun hobby that delivers a lot of satisfaction.

This game has morphed into something very wonderful. To me, it always had great, and quickly accessible, gameplay. Now, it has developed a graphic beauty that rivals any of its competitors. People that know these things better than me suggest that the flight models rival much more modern attempts and that the AI is second to none. It's a great cooperative achievement between its original developer and its users. Untalented people like me can only say thanks.

It's proving a tough war for Jasta 4. The opposition is not much more numerous that us, but determined and well-equipped, so I'm taking four, sometimes five other pilots with me, inevitably a mix of successful and less so. We have a good run for a while and get a couple of victories between us on a mission or two, then we have one where we get split up in a fight and more enemy scouts turn up. Sometimes I manage to shoot an enemy of a comrade's tail, other times I don't, or only see him go down after it's too late anyhow. We're lucky if we catch a couple of R.E.8s on a recce...
