3 pointsI will add my 5 cents to the thread as it claims that mods have not sufficient instructions. So my point of view. No instructions? So what. I can download any mod from here for free. And enjoy. And that is enough. I can't expect more from guys who are spending countless hours on skinning, editing, modeling etc. If I decided to mod my game I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MOD THIS. Over the years I've learned how, when and why mods are working or not. And possible that I still have to learn more. As generally, I am new here - compared to others. Anyway. I found all the information that I needed - thanks to search option/button. And of course trial and error. And now I can even put some aircraft into the game. As for instructions -- ooo holly crap...we are not dealing with some quantum physics. Over the years all mods work the same way. We have the same structure of folders. Still. Copy - paste is often the most sophisticated way of putting mod into a game. Campaign/Mission/Aircraft/Weapon for NA/ Vietnam/ Korea or Iran - works the same way. So I don't give a sht if there is instruction or not. I'm glad that folks are still doing mods. And better if they are working on terrain or nice tilesets, skins, or any other great stuff (even small improvements are welcome) rather then writing Readme that possible 80% of people will not read anyway....(another thing is some are not reading and asking same questions over and over again ). As I know from my own experience writing readme is the worst part of making a mod...at least for me - I wrote once readme - explaining an idea of moded aircraft AH-6C - then I received a message that AH-6 looks different way...Yes G/F/M looks different But I've made AH-6C so meaning someone is stupid enough not to see a title of mod and thing that I've made C! So I wasted time writing readme because someone didn't get the idea... Anyway. Different story with payware. There if something is not working...it should have some technical support. But here - all is free... So, learn how, when and why...trial and error rather than complaining that someone forgot to put a sound file, fake pilot mod or small decal.. @1Patriot-of-many this post is not directed to you..just generally to someone. 3 pointsAlternate data ini posted below gents' for the Morane-Saulnier type N (80hp). This one disables control surfaces beyond excessive speeds, control is regained once speed drops to normal levels...the wing warping is the first to be affected, then rudder and elevator last. Avoid exceeding dive speeds much beyond 200 kph if using this alternate data ini. Will test this further and any feedback may be posted here...if this hardcore realism becomes popular, I will think about implementing such "disabling" speeds across more types for a ver. 10.0 of the FM update pack. 2 pointsI was busy with other things for a few months. But it would be a waste to just leave the Flak 18 gathering dust. This evening I patched it up to be worthy of a release, at least as a beta model. Added some ammo boxes too. The texturing could still use some work. You can find the package for SF2 on my website as usual.

1 pointRiBob, Anyone who means good to others can call me a friend. I have my reasons for sticking with my ancient computer, one is to stay aware of possible framerate and memory limitations, another is to stay in the same ball park as my online group of pilots who're also using old XP machines. EAW proofed to be a PITA to install on my much better Vista computer and although it was working there were a few things I didn't like, even though I particularly bought it to be used exclusively for EAW. The creative tools I'm using don't work very well in Vista either and besides that I'm tired of learning new operating systems and spending my much needed savings on something which I know will not give me a better experience, especially not in our online games. My needs for enjoying EAW aren't excessive and have never been very important to me, however I do have all the stuff which are being displayed in the many screenshots you see in seperate installs of the old addons, from which most of it came, but it's not even close to my own creations for The Final Cut addon which is tested by the online group of pilots I fly with dayly. Sadly my standard is much higher then most people when it comes to 3D models and there aren't many who can produce what I want, in fact there isn't anyone anymore really. So I satisfy myself with what I do have without dimished enthousiasm due to having to use a low end system, it works great and does what I need it to do. Besides I'm more of an EAW programmer then an EAW gamer but the two are complimenting each other nicely and provide me with sufficient amounts of fun and that's what it's all about right? 1 pointYes, it's normal, you don't return exactly at the same heading and it depends on your airspeed. The NORMAL behaviour is closer to the real thing. Oh, by the way, it's spelt "rudder".

1 pointI added a BTR-80, which I changed to South Africa, FAPLA Troops (modified Soviet troops from War For Israel) and USMC-tropps from Burger's SF2V expanasion pack, and CTDs were greatly reduced

1 pointWell, yes, I have. I have also created some of the mods in the missions/campaign section. And thoroughly tested them before-hand. And never did I come across a need to make the changes you are talking about. For someone relatively new to this forum, you are incredibly rude and cocky, and insulting to the very people who have spent their free time creating these free campaigns for you to use.

1 pointThe building objects you made for the Battle of the Bulge terrain looked good to my eye. I did run them through the lod viewer and didn't see any issues. Some 63% sized objects got used for other purposes, I think an old hangar used as a shed or whatever. I will package those objects eventually.

1 pointFurther testing of FE2 cloud tweaks in my mini-SF2 install, with a slightly modified data ini for the SeaFury to get it into the 730s kph (model recently posted by Paulopanz if I remember correctly, and a beautiful model too). Works great for early Cold War scenarios, as do the F4U-5 Argentine Corsairs. Thank you modders! Von S

1 pointThis looks interesting, the scale of the miniatures being 1/100 - seems to have started with WW2 but has expended into 'Tanks - the modern age' as well: https://tanks.gf9games.com/HowToPlay.aspx The 'Bolt Action' WW2 system seems popular these days in the UK, using a fairly massive 1/56 scale. Even the former needs too much space for me and the battles are too small scale. For me it's 1/300 or 1/285 for a respectable size of battle on an acceptable size of battlefield. I wish Wargame: European Escalation's single player had been less locked down, or even included a random battle generator or mission builder - it'd be the ideal PC platform for what I wanted from my 1/300 miniatures. As it stands the stock campaign battles become God view clickfests so you can't spend time using more realistic views or taking time planning your orders. While the limitations on force make-up prevent you choosing your own troops, so as to get a realistically balanced all-arms team sufficiently strong for the mission you're given. Plus those fenced-in depots scattered over the landscape look awful. Still, at it's best, it's pretty good, and no painting or modelling skills are required :)

1 pointLockheed F-104C Starfighter - 'Getti Tonanti', 5th Aerobrigata, Aeronautica Militare, 1960 Entering service in February 1958 with the 83rd Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Hamilton AFB, California the F-104A interceptor served only briefly with the USAF Air Defense Command but this was soon followed by the multi-role F-104C which entered service with USAF Tactical Air Command in September 1958 when the 479th Tactical Fighter Wing at George AFB, California began to re-equip with the type. Despite setting a new world altitude record of 103,395 ft (31,515 m) just a few months later in December 1958 the USAF sharply reduced their orders for the F-104 leading Lockheed to urgently seek export orders and they soon gained an export order from the Italian Government in January 1960 for 40 F-104C's for the Aeronautica Militare. With Italy hosting the Olympic Games in the late summer of 1960, the Italian President Giovanni Gronchi personally asked the US President Dwight D. Eisenhower for the earliest possible delivery date as he wanted to use the F-104C's as part of the opening ceremony. Not only did 'Ike' graciously agree but he also authorised the immediate transfer of 10 F-104C's from USAF stocks which were airlifted to Europe during February and March being reassembled at Ramstein Air Base before being flown to Villafranca Air Base by USAF pilots and officially handed over to the 5th Aerobrigata of the Aeronautica Militare. The F-104C's replaced the F-84F Thunderstreaks of the 'Getti Tonanti' aerobatic display team and this elite unit performed a sensational display at both the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games of the XVII Olympiad held in Rome from August 25th to September 11th, 1960.
