    SF2 Douglas C-133 Cargomaster II by Veltro2k & Co. or Veltro2k and K and K -For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods" "Hi, I'm Ed, and this is my friend Kevin,and my other friend Kevin. We'd like to present the SF2 Community with a new aircraft, in both it's service variants. We proudly give you the C-133A and C-133B Cargomaster heavy lift transports". As stated, this package contains 2 aircraft, with several skins. The skins represent era changes in how MATS/MAC badged their aircraft. Each skin uses the SF2 "date switch" to activate. You have: C-133A: C-133B: Credits: Veltro2k for the model Daddyairplanes (Kevin Unruh) for the FANTASTIC skins Wrench for decals and ini work and stuff (??) for the cockpit TMF for the flaps & gear sounds Dels for the C130 turbine engine sound This is freeware, it =CAN= be redistrubuted, but =NOT= posted on other sites even if the original readmes and all other pieces of the package remain intact. The names of all contributors, modders, suppliers, etc =MUST= be listed in any new readmes. This package may =NOT= in any way, shape or form be used in any payware additions.

    Seems like it's time to reiterate what is known to many, and remind others as to what we do and stand for here at CombatAce. The following has been copied from the original post in the SF1 Forums. =============================== Most of the best modders in the community have agreed to make their work freely available with few restrictions. These modders have granted blanket permission for you to use their work under the following conditions: 1. The work may not be used in payware projects or in projects that will not be freely distributed under these same terms. 2. The work may not violated any terms of release by converting payware to freeware or freeware to payware. 3. You must give proper credit to the original author in your readme file. 4. If feasible, included the original author's readme along with your new mod file. 5. You must contact the original author for permission of use if more than 30% of the original release is affected by your work. 6. A Mirage Factory file may not be altered or included in a new mod withOUT the permission from a Mirage Factory (or now Mod Mafia) Member. 7. Any scenery or map tile modifications by Wrench require permission to edit, change, or use. 8. Any uploads of mods to Dev A-Team products are limited to ini edits, and skins/decals. They have requested that NOTHING of theirs be stored or shared or passed around outside their own members-only website. 2/28/2021 Update: As you all can see, there are name of many Modders who are no longer part of the SF/SF2 community. Rather than run down each name, it's being left in it's original state. Those wishing to make changes on products produced by the retired Modders, should consult one of the Admin Staff or other SF series Modders. We will judge each upon it's own merits for community upload and sharing.     Yes seaplane bases are a real option/possibility In the meantime...added little lakes and 'wet' fields (shimmering in the distance)

    I didn't like the ship hull so I decided to redo it the yellow is the new one. more tweaking needs to be done to the new one.

    To all of those that follow this topic.....help is needed pls. I'm looking for LOD's for the terrain, e.g. static ones. I've searched here in the download sections and within the various terrains...couldn't find something suitable - Terraced houses, esp. for south England - Dover Castle - Heavy mortars. I know we have field guns...how about mortars? - Angled harbor walls (like the one in Dover) If you've something I would be most grateful. I know it's a bit early in the development stage...but who knows thx gt

    Runway denial mission...... They have REALLY GOOD AAA in North Korea Lost my wingman to a SAM nest 3 miles out Then lost my plane to the guns............but the strip died.

    Keep up the good work and do not let this discourage you. Campaigns are pretty difficult to get right, I know since I created them for the recent Operation Desert Storm mod. If you need some help or suggestions, feel free to send me a PM.

    I didn't feel that I came off as agressive, even considering my pure dislike of how crapun does business. sorry you took it that way. =========== VonS: yeah, it's a pain to the FE2 aircraft into SF2, but it's doable. I'm just sorry I couldn't get the SPAD close enough to the Sabre, to see the "Hat in the Ring" on both. The caption would have been something like "only 30 years seperate them". Both are 94th FS

    iirc, there used to be a mortar team in either the SF1 or SF2 download section "Angled harbor walls" - you mean breakwaters?? I've found 2 ways of doing them. One is to paint them on the harbor tile itself. (see images below). One disadvantage, is the alpha layer in the tga don't like being curved (hence my use of straight lined breakwaters). It causes artifacts in the water fx. The other is, it's laying 'flat' on the sea. The other way is acutally have some build a lod, or find something to use for an elevated breakwater. There's a lod called "plattform01" that angled somewhat up, and 100m long. But again, as these are straight, they can be very diffucult to work with in making a turn, even in Mue's Target Area Editor (hence, they're being straight again). I know Dover has a very unique harbor set up; I couldn't replicate in the SF2 WW2 Euro map either!

    I'm glad you were able to fix the cockpit lag with dgVoodoo. I tried that as well and was unsuccessful.     To get an "action view" in FE2, experiment by including the following entry under "Saved Games/ThirdWire/FirstEagles2/Controls/Default.ini," in the "ControlSet001" section of the Default.ini file: GOTO_VIEW_ACTION_CAM= I don't think that such a command is available in the stock Default.ini control file for FE2 (it is available for SF2). In terms of SF2 WW1 mods - I don't think there are any - FE2 models air/physics/buffeting, etc. in a slightly different way than SF2 - so it's best to run WW1 aircraft in FE2, maybe also 1920s stuff, at the latest. To experiment, pop in any one of the F4U-5 Corsairs made for SF2 into FE2 - top speeds are around the 750s kph in SF2 (historical), while they shoot up to the 880s kph in FE2. This is why it's not a good idea to "downgrade" aircraft from SF2 to FE2 - then again, upgrading aircraft from FE2 to SF2 is a pain as well. Best is to keep the two sims. separate for max. compatibility between mods. and the sim. such mods. were intended for. Von S

    My favorite ESCORT mission is. Two A-10 or something similiar. When making some single missions I often assign 'my' ESCORT to two A-10 (or something similar) armed with 'FAC' loadout - smoke markers, Mav, etc. And then ...Warthog will fly escort, will pop up some smokes on some AA defenses. Occasionally shot Mavericks. This is quite useful when flying SEAD, as that unusual 'ESCORT FAC' will mark targets for you...(helpful when flying without 'easy hud' markers on the screen like me) and also eliminate additional AA in the area. While my real ESCORT is fighter flight with a SWEEP mission assigned. Also quite fun is to fly SEAD with assigned ESCORT to Prowlers armed with HARMs. Or fly as Prowler - ESCORT with HARMs for SEAD Weasels. Also, one of my favorite missions to fly.

    Those beaches and sea deserve a Felixstowe seaplane base together with the Hansa Brandenburg W.12 and W.29 base. But that would require a bit of England in the map. Anyway, amazing job!!
