Lockheed Starfighter F.3 - No.29 Squadron, RAF Strike Command, 1984 Delays in the UK's Tornado ADV programme lead to the RAF upgrading 38 Lockheed Starfighter FGR.2's to a new F.3 standard featuring the uprated J79-GE-19 engine (developing 12,000lbs dry thrust and 17,900lbs with afterburner) and the improved NASARR R-21G/H radar with moving target indicator and continuous wave illuminator for the Skyflash semi-active radar homing missile. Entering service with No.29 Squadron in 1980 the Starfighter F.3's remained in service until 1991.

Agreed, it is an ancient model indeed. Although a light paint touch-up and shadows improve it a bit (thank you Paint3D). Have now successfully placed Stephen's cockpit for the B.E.2c into the 2a model (since the original 2a cockpit was strange with wood panels intersecting right through dials, gauges, whatnot) - and I think it looks better now. The decals I've "painted on" (inserted onto wings/fuselage, painted onto the rudder) by the way, to avoid bleeding at edges when they are called up via decal.ini files (again thank you Paint3D for your magic). Now onto the FM - will take several days to fix that up since it doesn't even fly in FE2 with the old Skunkworks FM. Cheers all, Von S

What you really want is for your OS to be on the SSD along with the game files. That will provide you the smoothest game play in any situation. If your SDD is the same size as your HDD then you can just transfer the entire disk image from the HDD to the SDD. Here's a helpful guide: https://mobiletrans.wondershare.com/how-to/transfer-os-to-ssd.html

i do have this F-16BM from the Royal Norwegian Air Force , you can use this aircraft for any other F-16B with a drag chute , you just have to change the skin

So in my everlasting quest for how much BS i can get away with in Vietnam, i felt like starting a what-if campaign. IRL, Johnson asked Franco for some sort of Spanish support againt Communism in Vietnam when the war started. Franco sent a letter back, telling him that the US would loose the war because communism looks great when you are piss poor, and sent a Field Hospital, but no combat troops. So i thought "What if he pulled something ludicrous such as sending HA-1112s (Bf109s with Merlin engines, as seen in Battle of Britain) as COIN aircraft?" Lacking HA-1112s, got the stock Avia S-199. Turns out...you can outMiG the MiGs

Technically not a new aircraft, more so an old one but being "renewed" currently - have gotten rid of the blocky pilot and awful looking gunner, and machine gun, from the old B.E.2a model available over on the Skunkworks website. Now it includes one of Stephen's rifle-armed observers and Geezer's pilot with the healthy moustache. Also did some light re-skinning of the default skin available here on CombatAce for that B.E.2a and done by LloydNB many yrs. ago (thank you Lloyd for that earlier skin). Left is to look over the FM since that requires an entire overhaul ( ) and will base it on the FM tweaks I did a few yrs. earlier for Stephen's lovely B.E.2c model. Always wanted to have this one flying in FE2 - reminds me of the old BBC series 'Wings' (1970s). Will include the completed data ini here (and the re-skinned skin from CombatAce) once I'm done with it. Von S

Thai revenge, a raid on North Vietnam. Flew with Sidewinders and left the bombing to the other flight. Spraying a MiG with .50s until they go down feels quite rewarding. Shout out to all the mod artists that make a game this old look this beautiful

Part 2 Went out to bomb Vinh's runway. I wasn't sure two S-199 could carry enough payload to do the job, so i got 8. When i dropped my bomb, and waited to see if the rest of the flight could get some more hits, i managed to hit another MiG-17 and shoot an aileron off. However, he flew away, and started getting chased by two Crusaders and a Phantom that wanted to steal my kill. So here we have an F-8 crawling up on him, while another just breaks off after wasting all his ammo, since he is a dogfighter and can't hit anything if it isn't turning. Then there is a Phantom who almost shot his sidewinder into the first Crusader. Meanwhile, the Spanish pilot thinks about how his life led him to this moment "I could be flying an F-104 back home"

Royal Thai Sabres Scramble as Vietnamese MiG-21 dash to strafe Nakhon Phanom Red Crown said they were 20 miles out, went right 90 deg right after take off, almost stalled They jettison tanks and bombs to outrun us. Not sure they need to. One of them didn't outrun a Sidewinder, and the other one had to go back home with a rudder shot off by a .50, but that was as good as it was gonna get

Good thinking @dtmdragon. Sure hope you can also do the 123rd FS as they'll be the next squadron in line. Here is their tailflash: I'm sure you'll come up with some better serial #s and maybe names! Lots of real-life F-15 images up on my Flickr at https://flic.kr/s/aHsm155jiN - including loads of 123rd FS F-15Cs! Required screenie of a F-15E dropping a full cluster bomb load:

Another interesting fcat about the Caudron RXI and its predecessor (The Letord) : One pilot (captitaine Abel) was able to perform a fiull loop starting from 50 m altitude above the ground !

It is very hard to compare WWI and WWII, first because during WWI, the majority of air activity was about reconnaissance and Artillery Spotting (ie conduct mission / prevent the nemy ...), much less about bombing (even at the end of the war). Also, performances comparisons did not depend on aircraft role but also on generation (which means during wwI 6 months). Add to this that doctrine was at its infancy and was going in all directions : that is what makes comparisons difficult, but fascinating too
