10 April 1994: At the request of the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR), two USAFE F-16s strike Bosnian Serb miltary targets outside of designated safe area of Gorazde. While the UNPROFOR reuest targeted tanks in the area, the F-16s were unable to engage those but destroy a command post and several military vehicles. While contemporary news accounts state US or USAFE F-16s in the action, they most likely were F-16C Block 40s of the 526th Fighter Squadron, 86th Wing like the pair shown here

It was supposed to be an intercept mission, but a combination of ground fire and other MiGs killed them before I got into range, so I had a free flight to just cruise around the Korean countryside in 1951.

Thank you guys for the compliments. It means a lot to me that some programs and tools I wrote are appreciated by you modders. But back to topic: I second that too. Logan4 helped me a lot by providing me with numerous specific LOD file examples, so that I could investigate the LOD file format in more detail and was eventually able to create the LOD exporter plugin for blender.

I second that Thank you Logan4 ! It's always a great pleasure to admire your models by Mue's LOD viewer ^^

Hello All, It is great to see new members contributing to this awesome community. I wish I have the time to work on projects and even play the SF2! This thread is to thank our long time community member, modeler, and a great friend 'Logan4' I have to look up the original modeler for this beautiful F-5E (on the other computer), so far the most accurate (test photos). I did some modifications and worked on the templates. Logan made all the necessary accessories (fake pilot) for the various air forces/navy/marine/private contractor. His F-5E fuel tank is being contributed for the IIRAN Mirage F1... Thanks to Dave, Fates, Erik, MK2 and all the people involved for keeping this webpage alive and available all these years... and many more years to come! Thank you.

not bad at all. and i dont really like the pre war/early WW2 stuff generic advice for bare metal.... you got a good start with the panels. but every one will be at least slightly different due to weathering. first off, put your panel lines at the very top of the layer stack find a pic or two of metal online that you like and that matches the plane. then, start making layers. use portions of the metal from online, and have diffent layers for different segments. you dont have to have 200 layers for 200 panels, have 3-5 layers for 3-5 shades of metal across those 200 panels then, depending on the metal used , apply a blueish or brownish tinting above each of the layers you made. reduce opacity by anywhere from 80-95%. but most of all, play with it. experiment, see what you like. as a few instructors once told me, we're to show you A way not THE way. if you figure something else out that works better for you, do it!

I would most def nominate Mue as Modder of the Decade. (you forgot to list "old age brain farts" as a risk to modding, too!)

Super-duper F-5! Thanks to every brave man who selflessly programs and models aircrafts, despite bad weather, solar magnetic storms and other cataclysms. If I were on the jury for voting for the best computer program, then I would give the Academy Award for Best Computer Program to the participant Mue. I use his tool very often :)

Just sharing the pilot position for for Geezer "RAF Euro Pilot Oxy" to be used with the beautifull Spitfires released by Cliff7600. The original aircraft data ini position worked fine to me in all Spitfires, but if you had facing some problem with this position using Geezer pilot in those Spits you could try this: Open your "Aircraft data ini" file and find the name "Crew", them you must to exchange two (2) lines manually. // Crew --------------------------------------------------------- [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=RAF Euro Pilot Oxy <------------------------------------ You must add this line SetCockpitPosition=TRUE Position=0.00,-1.43,0.43 <------------------------------------ You must add this line This position will work in all "Aircraft data ini" of those Spitfires released recently by Cliff7600

You will laugh, but the Soviets built a MiG-21 prototyp in a similar configuration. It was called Ye-6/2. It had an increased wing area in double delta shape. Mandatory Screenshot: Logans Ye-144

We (the admins) have been getting some well, complaints, about the lack of information on some of the recent uploads. This is just a reminder to all CA Members that are making mods and uploading them. We always appriciate the contributions, but pleas follow these guidelines!! ==================== Important Information on File Upload Policies and the Minimum Requirements Thereof: At the very minimum, the following is required for an upload here at CombatAce 1) A screenshot of the mod; not a photograph of the Real Life ™ item, but an in-game shot, so people can see what it looks like. For terrains/terrain mods, a shot of your favorite aircraft flying over the terrain, highlighting terrain features is a good one. 2) A quick, simple description, this is what shows in the Announcement Threads below, describing for WHICH 3W Game series; meaning if for ONLY SF/SFG/WoV/WoE/WoI, or Only SF2 Series, OR is usable in both; what the purpose of the mod (is it a "What If..", or a mod of an original aircraft or mod of another mod, etc) Generally, explain the purpose and intent of the Upload. 3) Inside the uploaded zip, a COMPLETE readme with full instructions on How To Install, if other parts are needed and where to get them; etc. There are several dozens of REALLY good, clear conscise readmes around that one can base theirs off of (I should know - I wrote most of them!) Also, list sources and if using someone else's as a base PLEASE make sure you have permission (as in for TMF Products). If the mod is from someone that has signed the Freeware Accords, PLEASE make sure you list their name, and Thank Them for their Original Work. It's the civilized way, doncha know! Thank you all for you kind attention to details; working together we can only create better mods, and a better 3rd Wire Community! Wrench kevin stein

I've always wondered what an A-10 would look like in an 'Asia Minor' scheme. You know, a 'what if the Shah had bought a sh*t-ton of 'em in the mid '70s' kind of thing

Lads, I've tried to fix this inside Blender 2.79, cursor to object, locking axis, re-located Parent-Child relations, and do some data ini's tweak too, adding Rotation axis=Y, correcting hitbox etc.. Problems are: -Main rotor rotation doesn't align with proper X-Axis -FastProp blade is missing (I used the same object with fast tail rotor (only rotate, translate, and tga skinning works only) -Tail rotor are spinning like main rotor , not in rotor shaft axis. Anyone can pointed what's wrong or what should I do? Many thanks before.

I need an advice : What fuel tank from the stock install to use as a 250 US gal tank ? I'm planning to put 6 of them in the cargo bay. It's an option for ferry flight.

This date in history exactly 70 years ago...On the night of July 16, 1952, Lt Guy Bordelon (aka Lucky Pierre) of VC-3, while flying this F4U-5N Corsair, BuNo 124453, scored his 5th kill to become the Navy's only ace, the wars only piston engine ace and the only night fighter ace of the Korean War. Both my father and my Uncle Bill served on board the U.S.S. Princeton (CV-37) , the ship Lt Bordelon was assigned.

Sukhoi Su-9A/9B and Su-11 Upgrade Pak for SF2 series A relatively large upgrade pak, with some relatively minor tweeks for Pakso's Fishpot series of Soviet Interceptors, for use with SF2 Series games, either stand-alone or full merged installs. As seen in the original Upgrade pak, landing lights have been added, and in this pak, canopies have been activated via a manual animation key (Shift/0). Landing gear rolling radi have been adjusted to make the aircraft sit a little more evenly in SF2. Afterburner effects have been swichted over to a stock, game supplied one. No other changes to the FM have been effected; there is the occasional 'burp' in it, but it flys and handles quite nicely, given the time passed from their Original Release ™. This package, broken down into individual folder for ease of installation, is the COMPLETE Package ™ of all 3 aircraft, and includes the changes from the WoE 08 Upgrade Pak. Mostly consisting of ini mods, that 'tweek' the data, and loadout inis, making them more usable in the SF2 series. Ordway's cockpits are also included, as is my 'instructional' text and jpg for use with the gunpods on the Su-11. This pack is designed to work with any, or no Weapons Pak, as Weapons ARE included, for those that don't have/use a weapons pak. PLEASE read the Notes below for some explainations of whyfores and wherefores, with reference to the Su-11. New 'generic' SF2-style hangar screens are also included for all 3 aircaft. Userlists have also been created, thereby limiting their 'deployment' only to the Soviet Air Force. This mod has been tested in SF2, Full 4-merged sims, at the May 2010 patch level. I haven't tested it in SF/Wo*, but don't feel there'd be any major differences, other than how the weapons are handeled. However, the landing gear rolling radui has been adjusted for SF2, and may need readjustment for 1stGens. The canopy fixes used here can be easily applied to the original 08 upgrade pak quickly, easily and with no problems. As always, it's reccomended to read this document through; there's some explainations along with the instructions as to why/how certain things were done. Also, for a full lisitng of Credits and Sources. Good Hunting! Comrade Wrench Kevin Stein
