    When posting to our forum please: Check if anyone has already asked the question you have and received a reply. Just as you wouldn’t repeat a topic of discussion right after it happened in real life, don’t do that in discussion boards either. Stay on topic – Don’t post irrelevant links, comments, thoughts, or pictures. Don’t type in ALL CAPS! If you do, it will look like you’re screaming. Don’t write anything that sounds angry or sarcastic, even as a joke, because without hearing your tone of voice, other community members might not realize you’re joking. Always remember to say “Please” and “Thank you” when soliciting help from others. Respect the opinions of others. If you feel the need to disagree, do so respectfully and acknowledge the valid points of the other's argument. Acknowledge that others are entitled to have their own perspective on the issue. If you reply to a question, make sure your answer is accurate. If you ask a question and many people respond, summarize all answers, and post that summary to benefit your whole community. Be brief. If you draft a long dissertation in response to a simple question, it’s unlikely that anyone will spend the time to read it all. Don’t badmouth others or call them stupid. You may disagree with their ideas, but don’t mock the person. If you refer to something someone has said earlier in the discussion, quote just a few key lines from their post so that others won't have to go back and figure out which post you’re referring to. Before asking a question, check the FAQs or search the internet to see if the answer is obvious or easy to find. Check the most recent comments before you reply to an older comment, since the issue might have already been resolved or opinions may have changed. Be forgiving. If someone makes a mistake, don’t badger them for it. Just let it go – it happens to the best of us. Run a spelling and grammar check before posting anything to the discussion board. It only takes a minute and can make the difference between sounding like a fool and sounding knowledgeable. Don't PM someone asking for help with questions that should be asked on our forums. RULE OF THUMB: If you wouldn’t do or say something in real life, don’t do it online either.

    may I add to be aware that for many here English is not their primary language so they may be wording things in ways that sound like they are demanding help, patience with these members ,especially if they are new, would help avoid trouble and hurt feelings too.

    Chengdu J-10A-AR "Ehécatl" This model is a approximation of how a Chengdu J-10 might look if it was in service with the Argentinian Air Force, being part of the 6to Grupo de Caza y Ataque, belonging to the VI Brigada Aérea. As many of you might know, Argentina is planning to modernize its air force, and one of the jets that has been considered is the J-10, coming along with the JF-17, the MiG-35 and the MiG-29 (I should work on one of those). The model, though, is not accurate. The offer made by China considers the J-10CE, an export version of the J-10C. This plane can carry Chinese and Russian weapons, and Argentinian Mk-series bombs. The aircraft will appear on the list as "Chengdu J-10A-AR "Ehécatl". The adding of the -AR is just a formality. To install it, you will need to copy and paste the folders in your SF2 mod folder, following basic mod installation proccess. In the folder >>J10AR-Final Version<< you will find 4 folders. These are: Aircraft >> J-10A Decals >> J-10A Flight >> FLIGHTENGINE.INI Weapons >> KometaTankC // KometaTankW Special thanks to: Erwin_Hans and InSky, for the fantastic model they made of the Dragon...     I've flown all kinds of recce missions in SF1. In everything from from RF-84s to RF-104Gs. Been shot down a lot too. But nothing compares to the sheer difficulty of flying photo birds in SF2WOV. Going in low, relying on pretty much nothing but speed to keep you alive in the firestorms of flak is like nothing else out there. So far in DiD since i've converted to SF2 i've flown two pure recce campaigns and lasted three missions each. Both times being shot down in the target area. Going for it again, naturally. First few missions is "on the rails" flying the given waypoints. Virtually suicidal of course, as was noted in a long ago post here in Combatace. But you know how it is for new guys. Always have to do things by the book. The way i'm looking at things now (just to make it sporting) is five missions on the rails, then doing your own thing. Though you'll always have to be straight and level at the moment of truth anyways. That's the absolute best chance for them to bag you. Back in WW2 they called the low level jobs "dicing". So let's see if it's still worth it to roll 'em again.

    16May65 Ensign Roger Kirby was shot down by ground fire over the target. A good chute was seen and Kirby was taken prisoner as soon as he reached the ground.

    8MAR65. It was a prestrike mission to Bac Giang this time. Just like the first mission it was launch off the catapult then a climb to 20,000ft while heading for the beach. Since i was going in first there wasn't much in the way of delaying before reaching the push over. Right about at the mouth of the Red river, it was showtime. Drew scattered fire at first but it started getting serious as i overflew Nam Dinh heading upriver. Once past that it was a break of sorts as only the occasional AAA position opened fire before reaching the turning point slightly SW of Hanoi. From there it got to be a steady stream of AA fire all the way to the primary target. I thought maybe it would lessen as the Doung river was crossed but nothing of the sort occurred. Enemy fire grew even more intense across the river and all the way to, over, and on the turn onto the egress route. There was a brief respite as the distance toward the ridge was covered but once there and onto the final leg the groundfire was the worst that had been experienced during the mission. AAA was so intense that over the north side of Haiphong the decision was made to go full burner until feet wet and to zoom climb to 10,000ft once over the water. AA fire was still steady until about three miles off the coast though.

    When the conflicts scalated into what has become known as the Far East War in 1968, the USAF found itself without the ability to field enough Phantoms to curb the swarms of J-6s fielded by the PLAAF, which led to a revival of the Starfighter in its intended role as an air superiority fighter. Out of the F-104G production lines everywhere, scores of F-104Ms were produced introducing improvements such as the uprated J79-GE-19 engine and a EW warfare suit to survive in the SAM intensive environments of Korea, Vietnam and the Taiwan Strait. Another significant improvement came about with the standardization of US Navy variants of the AIM-9 Sidewinder, which not only simplified logistics and production, but actually performed much better in combat.     Nations & Medals Expansion April 13th, 2019 (1st Release) by Menrva >For Strike Fighters 2 games This mod is an extension of the stock ThirdWire _nations.ini file. It adds new nations and respective national decals, missing from the stock game, and it adds numerous medals (made by Capitaine Vengeur and Charles) for the stock countries. Here below a summary of the changes: -Added a number of new service markings decals, for the added nations. -Remade decals for the fictive countries of SF2 to match the default 256x256 resolution of other national decals. -The Mercenary decal no longer shows Dhimari colours; now it's generic and adapt for various scenarios involving mercenaries. -The Soviet Air Force becomes the Russian Air Force since 1992, with proper new decals showing up since 2010. -The Soviet Naval Aviation (Russian Naval Aviation since 1992) has been added as a separate service. -The (Free) Libyan Air Force has been added and becomes active in 2012, in place of the Libyan Arab Republic Air Force. -Biafra and Katanga have been added and are active for a short number of years, as historically accurate. -The Rwandan Air Force has been added, active since 1962, with later finflash showing up since 2002. -The Niger Air Force has been added, active since 1961, with alternative insignia in use since 1980. -The Djibouti Air Force has been added, active since 1977, as historically accurate. -The missing post-Yugoslavia nations, namely Montenegro and Republika Srpska, have been added. -The missing ex-Soviet Union nations of Belarus, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have been added. -The Irish Air Corps has been added, with alternative decals in use since 1955. -The People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force has been added as a separate service, active since 1953. -The Somali Air Force is known as the Somali Aeronautical Corps before 1960, as historically correct. -The Burkina Faso Air Force is no longer active since 1964, now it's active since 1985; it shows up as the Upper Volta Air Force before 1985. -The Bahrain Amiri Air Force becomes the Royal Bahraini Air Force in 2002, as historically accurate. -Created and added low-vis insignia and finflash textures for the Pakistan Air Force. -Fixed a stock bug in SF2 with the Sultan of Oman's Air Force not being selectable since 1959, as it should be. -Fixed a stock bug in SF2 with the Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force not using the old roundel as it should be before 1992. -Activated unused low-vis finflash included in stock SF2 for the Canadian Armed Forces. -Other very small changes here and there to other stock nations. -Added new medals for the following nations and respective services: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Cuba, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, East Germany, West Germany, France, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Korea, South Korea, North Vietnam, South Vietnam, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Soviet Union, Spain, Sweden, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States. Modders and users are advised to tweak their _userlist.ini files and _data.ini files for aircraft and ships, to make use of the new naval aviation services added by this mod. >Credits (in no particular order): -Capitaine Vengeur, for his Modern Russian Federation Medals and Modern Ukrainian Medals packs. -Charles, for his Medals Pack v2.0 addon for SF1, which I have improved and updated to SF2 standards. -mue, for sharing info about the functionality of the alias.lst file. -paulopanz, for creating decals for Rwanda and Niger, which I have further tweaked. -eburger68, for few decals I borrowed from his huge campaign mods.     Something not working for me following my install. All missions on the Korea map are at night and instant action is always over the sea, at dusk or at night. Anyone had any similar problems? Thanks Paul
