    5. CloudScape v3: Two Skies

      Cloudscape v3 09/22/2010 by ShrikeHawk

      Here's two cloud mods for the price of one. You get a cloud mod for Wings over Israel2 and Wings over Vietnam2. Each uses two cloud images: cloud1.tga and cloud2.tga. These images are different in both, but are interchangeable between the two mods. With just a simple file renaming you can try out any of the clouds in CloudSkins 1,2,or 3 in these mods. Experiment, play with it, and see what kind of skies you can build.

      The WOI2 mod is a variation of the new Widesky. The WoV2 mod is a variation of the default environmentsystem.ini.

      Thanks to Cellinski and Insky Group for the original WideSky mod and the updated version for Thirdwire's 2nd Gen Sims.

      Thanks to Stick for trying it out and for the support.

      Thanks to TK for a fabulous sim and the wisdom to make it so moddable.

    7. II/JG51 skin for MontyCZ's S-99 (109G6)

      II/JG-51 Skin for MontyCZ S-99

      For SF2 WW2 MTO/ETO installs

      A fairly simple skin for Monty's S-99 (here representing the Bf-109G-6) as used in North Africa/MTO theatre by Jg-51. Simple, because II/JG51 didn't seem to use any stab marking or ID numbers, making this an easy skin.

      As always, READ the enclosed readme for full, detailed (and very simple in this case) instructions. This package has been broken down into the various folders that SF2 needs, to make it a LOT easier to install.

      Enjoy!

    9. Mirage IIIC

      Mirage IIIC

      This mod represents the 4 escadres de chasse (fighter wings) that ever flew Mirage IIIC :

      La 2ème Escadre de Chasse based at Dijon
      La 5ème Escadre de Chasse based at Orange
      La 10ème Escadre de Chasse based at Creil
      La 13ème Escadre de Chasse based at Colmar

      I also added 3/10 squadron based at Djibouti.

      IMPORTANT : This mod has been developed for SF2 Europe and SF2 Israël in "merged" version, no .lod file are provided.
      Those are high resolution skins (2048x2048), if your computer can't handle them I suggest you resize them to 1024*1024 or even 512*512, only thing is you will loose some details, but they will work fine

      Installation :

      1- make a backup of the "Mirage3C" folder.
      2- Uncompress this file in a temporary folder.
      3- copy the "Objects" folder in your addons (mods) folder.

      Credits :

      TK for his game and the Mirage IIICJ which is the base of this mod.
      PGC for some decals.

      And a big thank you to those on C6 and Combatace forums who helped me solve all issues I encountered.

    10. DASSAULT MYSTERE IVa French silver skin

      I got inspired by Ajudnair and Jean-Baptiste Mouillet excellent third party mystère IV. Not only their skin was beautiful but also realistic. It can be seen here: http://combatace.com...84-mystere-iva/

      For those who use Thirwire's Mystere IV, like me, i decided to make a skin of the same style, taking Paulopanz' beautiful E/C28 nice skin as base.

      Most of the work was done on the free open source program: GIMP

      Small skin presentation on youtube:

      Feel free to comment or request on combatace.

      P.S:

      For those who only have the non-flyable mystere IV, you can find flight models for Mystère, super Mystère, Vautour and Ouragan there, thank Paulopanz again:

      Installation:
      Just put the folder to your mod repertory. For SF2 It should be something like C:\user\my savegames\Thirdwire\SF2 or something like this. Have fun.

    11. Alternative Armour Pack

      Alternative Armour Pack

      This armour pack is my humble attempt to make ground war somewhat more "accurate". It's been created with SF2:E/NF4+ in mind, but it should be easy to adapt it to other mods/installs. Several "new" tanks have been created, but due to my lack of modelling skills they're only ini edits. Other tanks (both TW and community ones) have been tweaked.

      "New" stuff:

      - Chieftain mk2, mk5 & mk11 (edited stock Centurions);
      - 120MM L11 gun for Chieftain, parameters optimized for the L15 APDS round;
      - Leopard 1 (edited stock Leopard 1A1);
      - M1 IP (edited M1 Abrams from NF4+);
      - M60A1 AOS (edited stock M60A1);
      - M60A3 (edited Pasko's & Kesselbrut's M60A3)
      - T-80B (edited T-80BV by SWS, BPAo, Fubar512 & 331Killerbee)

      Modified stuff:

      - 120MM L44 customized for '80s M829 APFSDS round);
      - Centurions (mk5,6,8,10,13), Leopard (1A1-1A5), Leopard 2A4, M1, M1A1, M48 (A2 & A3), M60A1, T-54, T-55, T-62A, T-72A, T-80BV;

      Modifications inlclude following changes/corrections:

      - tank's weight;
      - armor values have been changed to RHA equivalents against Kinetic Energy rounds. Angled plates have been taken into account whenever possible. Late tanks (T-72, T-80, Abrams, Leo 2) armor RHA values have been greatly influenced by data presented in "Armor Basics" created by Paul Lasowski & included in Steel Beasts;
      - number of gun rounds carried;
      - presence (or lack thereof) of nightsight, gun stabilization;
      - rangefinder & ballistic computer values;
      - service entry dates.

      I "hope" all this changes enhance accuracy but please bear in mind that:

      - SF series is about flying and the ground war aspect is kind off limited;
      - I'm no guru, I pulled the data from the Internet, therefore it might not be actually accurate, lol;
      - there's no easy way to calculate RHA values, info on the net can vary significantly from source to source; if you have some good/reliable literature where these are well/reliably documented for many cold war tanks and their variants/sub-types you're welcome to share ;)

      If you find any bugs/errors, please let me know so I can correct it.

      INSTALLATION:

      Back up your stuff first, so you can revert changes if you don't like them! Unzip archive and copy Objects folder to your mod directory (usually "C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe\" when using Vista/7). If you want M60A3 & T-80B\BV to show up you'll need to download them from CA (I didn't include lod files or textures). M60A3 is included in US Armour Pack, T-80BV is, well T-80BV. For T-80B copy T-80BV lod files into it's directory. If you don't have NF4+ installed you'll have to get the M1 Abrams from the US Armour Pack as well. And obviously if you want all the "new" stuff to show up in a campaign, you'll have to modify campaign data file. For starters I suggest replacing British Division's Leos with Chieftains in 1979 & 1986 campaigns.
      If you're still lost PM me :).

      Enjoy!

    13. CloudSkins3: Clouds For Days

      CloudSkins3: Clouds For Days by ShrikeHawk 09/08/2010

      Here's a huge collection of cloud images. I've used all of these off and on for most of 2010. Many are closely related having only a slightly different paintjob from another. Others are very different, using a completely different alpha channel (dictates the shape of the cloud.)

      You can use these in any cloud setting you like in any way you like. They will work in any version of SF1 or SF2 or any version of First Eagles.

      This is NOT a complete mod. It is images only. Use these clouds only if you are minimally comfortable with modding.

      See you in the clouds!

    14. NATO Fighters IV+: Post-Dec2009 Update Pack # 2

      -----------------------------------------------
      NATO Fighters IV+: Post-Dec2009 Update Pack # 2
      -----------------------------------------------

      This package contains a second update pack for the NATO Fighters IV+ (NF4+) add-on designed for "Strike Fighters 2: Europe" (SF2E) from ThirdWire. It does several things:

      1) Updates the NF4+ add-on to make full use of SF2's
      new radar, ECM, ARM, and ECM pod capabilities.

      2) Adds a number of new aircraft and ground objects.

      3) Adds several new textures to existing aircraft.

      4) Adds or updates over 100 weapons and guns.

      5) Fixes or updates numerous other files in the
      original NF4+ mod.

      This update pack should be applied to SF2E/NF4+ installations that are patched to the Dec2009 or later patch level -- including Feb2010, Mar2010, May2010, or Jun2010 -- and that already have the first update pack applied. If you are running SF2E at the Jun2009b patch level and do NOT intend to update to one of the later patch levels mentioned above, you should NOT apply this update pack.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Installation
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~

      Before installing this update pack, please ensure that:

      - your SF2E installation is patched to at least the Dec2009 patch level;
      - the original NF4+ add-on is installed;
      - the first update pack (or patch) is applied to your NF4+ installation.

      The four original NF4+ installation packages can be obtained from CombatAce:

      http://combatace.com/files/category/407-sf-series-add-on-missions-and-campaigns/

      The first update pack can also be had at CombatAce:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/11099-nato-fighters-4-patch-post-dec-2009-patch-level/

      The latest patches for Strike Fighters 2 can be downloaded from ThirdWire:

      http://thirdwire.com/downloads.htm

      Installation of this update is simple: copy the contents of the \To_Mod_Folder directory to your SF2E Mod Folder, overwriting as prompted.

      Please note: This update does install revised campaign files for the 1979 campaign. If you are in the middle of a 1979 campaign, the new files will break your campaign. You can either delete your in-progress campaign or hold off on installing the new campaign files until you have finished your current campaign.

      - Set of skins and decal.ini edit (it uses stock decals).

    21. AV-8A Harrier for SF2

      This is a ThirdWire WoE AV-8A Harrier converted for SF2. This package includes 331Killerbee's Enhanced Pack.

      INSTALLATION:

      Unpack the archive and drop the AV-8A folder to your MOD /Objects/Aircraft directory. You'll also have to extract original lod files from WoE ObjectData.cat using the CAT extractor. Following lods: AV-8A.LOD, AV-8A_LOD2.LOD,AV-8A_LOD3.LOD,AV-8A_LOD4.LOD & AV-8A_LOD5.LOD once extracted should go to the AV-8A folder. The AV-8A_cockpit.LOD needs placing in AV-8A/Cockpit folder.

      This is my first conversion so if messed something up, you let me know ;).

      Enjoy!

    22. Mistubishi F-1 HUD Fix Pak

      Mitsubishi F-1 Avionics HotFix For SF2

      = For SF2, Full-4 Merged = ONLY!! =

      Updates for my recently released SF2 mod of the Mistubishi F-1 by Veltro2k.

      This package will update several main inis, giving the aircraft a full, complete working HUD with CCIP, IRM markers and other cool stuff.

      As this mod makes use of several items that are 'borrowed' from inside several different ObjectData.cats, it is absolutely =NOT= compatable or downgradable for 1st Gen SF/SFG/WoV/WoE usage.

      The full aircraft, to which this HotFix is to be applied can be found at the URL below:

      http://combatace.com/files/file/11175-jasdf-mitsubishi-f-1-for-sf2/

      Again, this is for SF2, a full-4 merged install ONLY!!!

      As always, read the simple instructions included in the 'readme'.
