10 pointsAfter checking my downloads and cross-referencing to the always excellent gonavy.jp site I realized that we have all of the skins for CVW-5's fixed wing aircraft, so let's take them for a cruise in the idyllic South China Sea..... VFA-102 Diamondback (FA-18F - Modex 1xx) VFA-27 Royal Maces (FA-18E - Modex 2xx) VFA-115 Eagles (FA-18E - Modex 3xx) VFA-195 Dambusters (FA-18E - Modex 4xx) VAQ-136 Gauntlets (EA-6B - Modex 5xx) VAW-115 Liberty Bells (E-2C - Modex 6xx) The launch and recovery cycles continue constantly... To be continued...

5 pointsAbout two weeks ago, Wilches recommended a post-war, Polish version of the Anatra DS. That resurrected my interest in the Russian Civil Wars, and since the changes seemed minor, I decided to do it. It took a little longer than I expected, but it's finished and I uploaded it today. The Polish version has a different cowling, different radiator, and a slightly different rudder. As a result, it uses different skins from the Russian plane. I included the new skinning templates with the download, along with decals. The plane is armed the same as the Russian version, with two guns and a small bomb loadout. Ojcar made a new FM for this plane (my thanks to him) with improved handling and smoother take-offs. I will be revising the Russian and Austrian versions of the Anatra DS in the near future.

2 pointsLockheed F-19A Sniper - VMFT-401, United States Marine Corps, 1985 Only during the mid-1980's was it revealed that an unexpected outcome of President Nixon's historic visit to China in 1972 was the purchase of 30 Shenyang J-6 fighters for use as Aggressor aircraft. The aircraft were clandestinely delivered early in 1974 with the US Navy taking 22 aircraft and the US Marine Corps taking the balance of 8 which entered service with VMFT-401 in April 1976. In service, the aircraft were supported by specialist teams from Lockheed and were eventually designated F-19A with the unofficial name of 'Sniper'.

1 pointView File Polish Anatra DS "Anasal" The Anatra DS was a two seat Russian plane powered by a Salmson 9 cylinder, water cooled, rotary engine. The plane was therefore called the "Anasal", short for "Anatra Salmson". When the Ukrainian city of Odessa was occupied by Austria-Hungary early in 1918, the Anatra factory was found intact and production continued as the "Anatra C.I". Many of the first Austrian versions had the Austrian cross painted over the Russian insignia. The Anatra DS was used mostly for reconnaissance, but also as a fighter and light bomber. Many of them survived the war and were used in the fighting in Eastern Europe after the end of World War I. Poland declared its independence in late 1917. The new nation armed itself with whatever was available, including abandoned Russian, German and Austrian planes, and purchased planes from other nations. Several Anatra DS were purchased from the Anatra factory in Odessa. The Polish Anantra DS was identical to the Russian version, except for slight changes to the cowling, the radiator, and the rudder. The skins to my plane are similar, but not identical to my Russian version. As a resullt, I have included new skinning templates for the Polish Anasal. Historical Notes: I found several sources which said that Anatras carried a machine gun mounted on the fuselage for the pilot. I couldn't find any details of the mounting, so I guessed where it might be located. I don't know how the Poles armed their plane, so I used the guns I used on the Russian version. I also included a small bomb load. Credits: My thanks to Ojcar once again for making a new data.ini file for this plane. Installation instructions: For FE1: Unzip the file and move the folder named "PolishAnasal" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. For FE2: Unzip the file and move the folder named "PolishAnasal" into the FirstEagles/Objects/Aircraft folder. Then in the FirstEagles/Objects/Decals folder, create a new folder named "PolishAnasal". Move the folder named "D" from the Aircraft/PolishAnasal folder into the Decals/PolishAnasal folder you just made. Submitter Stephen1918 Submitted 12/01/2018 Category Other Entente Aircraft

1 point33Lima - Thanks! Actually, the Polish insignia are straight of of FE. FE already has insignia for all the nations included in the Nations.ini. Decals for nations not involved in WWI, like Switzerland, Netherlands, Soviet Union, and Poland are stock FE decals. I did include decals for Ukraine, since the Anatra factory was theirs, but not a skin. Silberpfeil - Thanks! The gunner is set to be more average, but you can make the FM adjustments for your install easily enough. The Gun Data includes an Accuracy setting, so that would need to be adjusted as well.

1 pointI find the FE2 mission generator realistic. You can choose factors such as the time and type of the mission and choose the weather you wish to fly in, but you have no control over the things that, historically, one had no control over, such as the enemy plane types one might encounter.

1 pointAs a Newcomer to FE2, via SF2, I have come to appreciate the similarity in modding the "2" versions of both games, as well as the increasing numbers of Mods for both. I don't install FE1 mods into my FE2 sim, although I understand that many will work, possibly with some tweaking, possibly as-is. Personally, time is to short to gamble on "might work" mods for my FE2, although I certainly respect the time/effort of FE1 Modders, and my decision is one of personal convenience only. I do have some other WW I flight sims --some heavily modded-- but I will withhold comments/comparisons on all of them for now. I will say that the later variants of the IL2 sim (and other modern sims) certainly set a high standard, but the hard work of some Modders has raised other, older games to a very respectable level.

19 Jan 2011 Strike Fighters 2: War For Israel V2.1 Campaign For SF2:Israel. or SF2,SF2:E,SF2:V with SF2:Israel Merged Install. This is a Campaign i created to hit on the Possibility of the situation in the Middle East coming to a head and represent the possible Air Battle. The Campaign includes IDF, USAF, USMC, USN with Carrier support. Also 2 Mercenary Aircraft for Campaign play. Installing the Campaign: Campaign files with menu pics and Music files are included. Also Included 3 Icon Files for the Main Dir to use with the Desktop Shortcut. Extra Files are required: The E-3A.LOD's for the E-3 "Sentry" can be found in Operation Desert Storm in the "ODS_part1.exe" file. You only need the LOD's all others are already included. This Aircraft is not crucial but fun to Include. Make a copy of your "StrikeFighters2 Israel.exe" in the program folder and rename it to "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.exe". Also make a copy of the INI and rename it "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.ini" in the main dir. Open the "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.ini" file and change it to read at the bottom: [Module] ModuleDataFile=ModuleWFI.cat DefaultTerrainData=IsraelME DefaultAircraft=F-15A_Baz This will allow the use of the Menu file ModuleWFI.cat that goes in your program folder "Menu" dir. Now Run the New "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael.exe" and go the the "Saved Game folder" "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael" and delete the "Aircraft" and "GroundObject" folders. New ones will be created. I've included all the Aircraft and Ground Objects including the Default SF2 Israel files so you do not have to sift through them. You can add Aircraft later if you want. Now Run the Menu Installer and point it to the program folders root "Strike Fighters 2" Folder. Then Run the Mod Installer and point it to the Saved Game folder root "StrikeFighters2 WarForIsrael". Overwrite if it asks. You should be ready to go. Before anyone complains about stock planes in this mod the A-4N is From the A-4AR Fightinghawk by RavenXXXX. And the Mig-27 is a modded version using the stock usable Mig-27 skins, and is by lindr2. Both can be downloaded at CombatAce.
