2 pointsFrom my understanding using only the 3 last digits on the tailnumber could lead to confusion (86-0234 and 86-1234 would have the same tailnumber with only 3 digits). That might be a reason. Of course that applies only, if you acquire lots of planes in a fiscal year. I'm not that familiar with USAF. USN had their bureaunumbers and sometimes numbers were reserved for contracts, that were later canceled. The numbers were (often, maybe always) not reused. If that is the case in USAF too, then you would not need huge amounts of planes to get the scenario above. Lot's of guesswork from my side here.

1 pointFound this in an old FXEXE install and almost forgot it needed just a bit more work because of harddrive issues in the past. A few more details will be added and texture mapping may still change a little. VonBeerhofen

1 pointIt's interesting indeed, I wonder about this too. As you may know, I'm working (together with other great modders) on a new F-22 Raptor add-on. The Raptor's serials are 3-digit, so you may want to add 3-digit decals for your YF-23. After all, both the YF-22 and YF-23 were born in the 90s in the contest of the ATF competition.

1 pointat least we know that any 'hack patch' will not affect future patch or expansion pack.

1 pointFalcon 4 was a special case: the source code was leaked and those using it to produce new releases were not legally prosecuted. The new owners of the Falcon 4 license are permitting BMS to continue developing and distributing new code, but with a new condition: the BMS release must detect a stock Falcon 4 install on the host PC in order to run. TK has not released the source code for any SF series game and has exercised his intellectual property rights establishing that no one is legally authorized to reverse engineer or alter the original code. Without TK's permission and technical support, the SF series cannot be significantly improved.

1 pointBoth Sundowner and Wrench: positive thoughts, energy and prayers (whatever works!) to both you guys. You both have been significant figures and familiar voices in this community for an awful long time, and hopefully you will both remain active, energetic and healthy for a very long time to come. This would be an appropriate time for a group hug, but everyone should be mindful of the stitches! Please be well!

Here's my set of 3 what-if aggressor skins for the F-23A Black Widow II by Dels. The background story is simple: what if the USAF decided to choose the F-23 instead of F-22 and what if they bought a lot of them, enough to form the aggressor squadrons too? You need to download and install the aircraft if you want the skins to work. It's available here: Credits: Dels for the aircraft and skin template Read the Knowledge Base to learn how to install this mod. No item included in this mod can be distributed as payware. You can use the contents of this mod in accordance with Combatace Freeware License. Chris -

1 pointthat folder holds experimental river tiles, that have brown water instead of the stock 3W green. Which isn't quite right (information from friends, family that have been there - one older brother of my best friend growing up was in PBRs)

1 pointInclement default base is 2500.0, hex code "00 00 00 00 00 88 A3 40" . It is at offset 0x8B570 in SF2 May 2012 version. It is the nature of hex edits that one can disable things and modify a little. Adding things, like a new variable to read, may technically be possible by appending new code at the end of the file, but I am not going to attempt such. To make it easier on the end user you can use a patch engine, that can automate the hexedit by generating an executable with a patch + restore button. I can send you one.

1 pointDear Pilots, Summer is drawing to a close once again and our offices in Moscow and Las Vegas are finally transitioning to cooler weather. The Fall season brings warm sweaters and more indoor time with the family and more time playing your favorite combat flight-simulation – IL-2 Sturmovik!! The team is very busy preparing the next update due later this month which will be a big one, but not quite the final one before Battle of Bodenplatte and Flying Circus are considered ready for release. We also continue our work on Tank Crew which has some new features and improvements coming as well. In light of our crammed schedule we simply leave you with some new images of our P-38J-25 and P-51D-15 and a shot of our A.I. B-25 from Battle of Bodenplatte! Enjoy!

Grumman E-2K Hawkeye AEW.1 - For Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic This is a simple mod of the stock non-flyable Third Wire E-2C to create a fictional Hawkeye AEW.1 in service with the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy. You simply must have Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic - it will not work in any other game. INSTRUCTIONS 1. From the AIRCRAFT folder drag and drop the E-2K folder into your Aircraft folder. 2. From the DECALS folder drag and drop the E-2K folder into your Decals folder. That's it! CREDITS Thanks to Third Wire Productions for a great little game/sim. Special thanks to pappychksix for the E-2C 'Late' skin which I've resized down to 2048x2048. And thanks to everyone in the wider Third Wire community. Regards Spinners Version 1 - 18/01/19
