4 pointsI was looking for my old files and found FV601 Saladin one of the first models that I made a long time ago using 3d max 3. but what happened after that, is I stopped modeling until last year when I found this forum, and that made me start to model from the beginning as everything was new to me again. So I think I need to add this to my do list to remodel it.

3 pointsOjcar recommended this late-war German fighter/ground attack plane. It has a 160hp water cooled 6 cylinder engine capable of speeds up to 165 kph. It carries a synchronized Spandau in the fuselage and has a Parabellum on a ring mount for the observer. There is a rack of 10 stick grenades on the port side - the grenades will drop one by one. This is about half done, I'm hoping to be finished by Christmas. The real world is keeping me busy, but I'm hoping...

3 pointsThere is nothing better than meeting and conversing with people that lived through major historical events. We are losing so many so fast from WW2 to through Vietnam. The saddest part of watching the WW2 generation fade away is knowing that their history is slowly but surely being forgotten by the majority of people who simply don't care about history.

1 pointWell in that case there's no reason not to fix your other planes which have R/S issues. I think players do care, after all modding has always been about trying to improve EAW, especially it's plane models. It's why Col. Gibbon's planes caught everyone's attention in the first place, perhaps it's just you who doesn't care anymore. VonBeerhofen

1 pointare the pathways correct? did they work before installing the SF2 Complete (ie: in your original installs?) Check the MAXLod= line is present (I've seen that one before!)

1 pointYes, the two parachutes (white and green) from the old EzMoneeStevens package available here on CombatAce are located deep inside my ver. 9.7 FM pack (somewhere in the 9.5 folders) - but I will simplify the ver. 9.9 update, updating everything to ver. 9.7 in a separate folder, and will dig the parachute files out and include them in the ver. 9.9 folder, for simplicity. Have further simplified some things so that the balloon explosion file will be an update only to the ini file that includes the parachute, since observation balloon occupants were using parachutes consistently since the summer of 1915 already, perhaps even earlier irregularly. The different environsys ini files with different cloud patterns and heights will now all be tweaks of the variant that includes very light wind with occasional light gusts - this is the most realistic variant for FE/FE2 since it provides for subtle (realistic) cloud movement, and on occasion gives dynamic smoke/fire effects. Owing to the way wind/environment is modelled in FE2 - the moderate and strong wind variants do not look as realistic as light wind with occasional gusts. (I will however leave the old variants of the environsys files in place, in the ver. 9.7 folder of the FM pack - for those who like to rummage through the older files.) Currently tweaking the data ini further for the Pfalz Parasol, in dogfights with the MS type N (yes, technically the Bullet was not available in the Italian front but I like to dismantle it and carry it to most early war fronts in FE2 anyway ). 1 pointConverting is quite easy...hard bit is redoing all the meshes ...relinking animating etc.. heres How I convert an imported 3ds or FBX or OBJ which is converted from say the .AC format...into 3ds max 1,I make sure the object is correct scale 1st...usually they are...KA50 was...BUT you need check that when imported the 3d it uses the models scale... 2,then I weld vertices usually using a small scale to make sure that vertices on small meshes arent all mixed up,and are welded correctly.. usually in 3ds or OBJ imoprting leaves modes meshes in areas of seperate meshes even single polygons...Ive had some where every single poly seperated.. PIC1 3, then I seperate the meshes...if importing 3ds I usually edit as poly and remove any extra edges added by the importer.....3ds etc tends to add diagonals to a poly...which on some curved areas causes the mesh to look ragged. PIC2 4 thats really the hardest part,then its a matter of animating,linking and exporting really PS I find FBX for max or flight studio \openflight . FLT importer tends to leave meshes as they were originally...
