5 pointsHmmm, let's say, combining all binaries, tools, installs, storage and version controlled stores... Behold my insanity, mortals ! Files : 5 041 927 Folders : 361 580 Size : about 2.57TB And that's fairly conservative because the largest part resides on a compressed partition and half of it are archives (the largest being one 24GB file, which unarchived would be 160GB and about 400k files). To be fair, that also includes some research material mixed in. The oldest file is from January 2003 (Deuce's Euro Terrain). Even for the part that is properly tagged, indexed and linked to my search engine, it takes quite some time to find anything. Never worry about the space you devote to your hobbies, there's always a madman out there who will make you look reasonable. :D

4 pointsIsrael Aircraft Industries 'Yeger' - Hunter Aggressor Flight, Israeli Air Force In the aftermath of the 1973 Yom Kippur War the Israeli Air Force examined it's aircraft losses (officially 102 aircraft but considered by many to have been higher) and in very much the same way as the USAF and USN had done they decided to embark upon an improved air combat training programme. In early 1974 four unmarked Hawker Hunter fighters in standard RAF camo arrived at Be'er Sheva Airfield where the Israeli Air Force had constructed a small temporary hangar adjacent to the Israel Aircraft Industries facility at Be'er Sheva. Whilst the UK Government consistently denied the supply of the four Hunter aircraft it would later be revealed that the aircraft were drawn from the Hunter wing at RAF Wittering and flown by civilian contractor pilots normally attached to BAC. The Hunter aircraft were quickly refurbished to emerge as the IAI 'Yeger' (Hunter) and equipped the Israeli Air Force's Hunter Aggressor Flight based at the nearby Hatzerim Airbase providing dissimilar air combat training for the Israeli Air Force. In 1976 the Hunter Aggressor Flight was boosted by the arrival of two ex-Kuwaiti Hunter FGA.57's and operated the type until 1991 when the unit disbanded.

2 pointsLike Wrench said, two versions, one for the Indochina War and one for the Vietnam War. No modern/contemporary version (a lot of North Vietnam airfields were scrapped after the war, there is very scarce info about such dates, and new airports were built instead).

1 pointHi, everyone. As some of you know, I am working on a huge revamp of the stock VietnamSEA terrain which is a complete mess to say the least. I have moved numerous airbases and cities to their correct Real World locations, and fixed much of the tiling throughout the various regions. I found real info about most airfields that TK added (even with some mistakes, there's no such thing as a Hue Airbase, for instance). However, I have been unable to find anything useful on two North Vietnam airfields, which are shrouded in mystery; Khe Phat and Ben Loi. By googling Khe Phat airfield, I only found the following: https://books.google.it/books?id=A4W2AAAAIAAJ&pg=PA4&lpg=PA4&dq=khe+phat+airfield&source=bl&ots=IuFDTnJJy5&sig=ACfU3U0Gy-xoTdk9ksldZkzm7oZzBez8_g&hl=it&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiY2cnX3sbnAhUOT8AKHb9xDIkQ6AEwDnoECAoQAQ#v=onepage&q=khe phat airfield&f=false This confirms that Khe Phat existed, being under construction in 1972. The link also mentions Ha Tinh airfield, but there's no such thing in TK's terrain. Looking for the other "mythological" airfield, Ben Loi, I have found nothing at all. Ben Loi either is invented, or is the Ha Tinh airfield mentioned above, or even is a mis-spelled Dan Loi airfield, as featured in this overview chart I found by chance: I am aware that most users do not care about details such as accurate target area coordinates or correct runway headings. However, I really want to feature those two airfields (Khe Phat and Ben/Dan Loi). The above chart is not enough for me. Most of the airfields I corrected in my revamp, I was able to find them on Google Earth; wiki gave me correct coordinates for them, so I could easily see where those bases are/were. Even if Quan Lang airfield no longer exists, I was able to find its remains through some photos of the Vietnam War period. But Khe Phat and Ben/Dan Loi are a complete mystery. I would like to have info on those two airfields, so I can pinpoint their location in the Real World, and hopefully see which heading their runways had. Any help is much appreciated!

1 pointYour picture shows not a weapon, but a soviet version of the "Sänger Projekt", called "Kosmoljot". The vehicle shows civil markings, the soviet flag and the cyrillic letters "CCCP", transfered to latin letters "SSSR" or translated into english "USSR".

1 pointI can't remember exactly how much but my modded installs although are definitely several hundred GBs. It took a long time to back them up! My gaming PC is currently on a ship somewhere out in the Atlantic - however, I've backed up all my SF2 files on, not one but two external HDDs. I may even move some files onto my laptop just to really be safe!

1 pointthe original plan was 1945-1955, for the 1st Indochina war (well, that was my original plan, at least!). The Vitnam48 map will be seperate from the "standard" VietnamSEA map. It appears that, yes, 2 era specific version will most likely be appearing. the 1956-75 (ish) will replace the stock map, with a huge upgrade in targeting (like, all the fracking railroads!!!) Which means the original campaigns (all the stock ones) will get boned.

1 pointGuess what? Another less documented airfield appeared! This time it is Dong Suong airfield. The only info I got was from declassified CIA documents. I was able to track it down via satellite imagery. Even though it's abandoned, its remains are still clearly visible. That gave me info about the runway's heading. The CIA docs tell that it was barely of any use for the VPAF. It most likely was a jet recovery base. It was first observed in May 1969. Wikipedia was missing such an article, so I wrote it down. Hopefully it gets approved soon. It's a draft for the time being: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dong_Suong_Airfield

1 pointYou know what? I had bought the Collector's Edition of Ace Combat 7, without owning a PS4 yet Thankfully I have activated all my keys and bonuses before the expiration date. So, I have useful info from the rare artbook about all the fictive aircraft and structures. Acepedia should have most of the info anyway.

1 pointI see I have to change the tail code; I went the "traditional" method of individual letters. Easy fix. I (re)used the stock Matra 155s, renamed and created a A-A rocket (like I did for the Scorpions) from the 68mm SNEB. The sites I saw for the 26N said 8 aircraft converted. I used generic serial, except for 2 seen in a photo, and another a profile. Easy enough to make new decals of the serials listed above. Left the wing guns in place, as we don't have a dual-50 cal gun pod. this is just one of those "make do" projects, while I'm waiting for the Vietnam 48 to be fixed by Menrva. It will, however, BE release when I'm (more or less) satisfied with it. Don't know how it'll be used in game...with no proper NW Africa terrain..sigh. this is a GREAT help!!!

1 pointThe F-14B was able to just barely beat 1.0M in level flight at higher altitudes (over 20K feet) in mil power, but not on the deck (vMax around 0.96M in mil power at combat weight). I recall some of its aircrews chimed in over at Tomcat Sunset a few years ago stating that clean, it would do 1.1M in level flight and 1.2M with slight nose-down, but again, at altitude, not on the deck.
