I'm working on an update to correct some small mistakes. Changes will be: some settings in flightmodel will be changed to make the plane landing properly. position of exhaust emitter will be corrected. add armed_recon to possible missions (you can drop now grenades on trucks ;-) ) new skin for west german use and correct tactical numbers for east and westgerman Air Force. (I got all these files from Paulopanz) Give me some days for final checks. Release till weekend, i hope so.

Actually, I disagree. The terrain as a LOD is just plain horrible under many aspects, poor optimization and framerate unfriendly. The only good thing about the LOD terrain is the water shaders, but TK could make something similar for the TOD terrains. Also, another disadvantage of LOD terrains, you would have to manually add hundreds of thousands of 3d models of city buildings and trees. Not only it is incredibly time consuming, it also worsens the framerate by a lot. The game would have to deal with too many 3d models on screen and with huge LOD chunks of the terrain's land and water. If only we had a TOD editor with a user-friendly interface not prone to crash countless times, we would improve the TOD terrains to new levels.

It's actually worse than that. Here's a couple good reads worth knowing about. https://www.vox.com/2020/3/20/21188144/senators-dumping-stock-as-market-tanks https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2020-03-09/how-coronavirus-spread-from-patient-zero-in-seattle

I, personally, find THAT statement highly insulting. I don't have to tell any long term members what I've gone through to bring out the best and most accurate product within the (serious) limitation of the game engine. Terrains for EVERY era .... BUT... I think we're seeing not only translation difficulties, but a general lack of understanding of the game itself, how it works under the hood, and how long it actually takes to bring out 95%+ accurate terrain map - or any other product. You all know that it took me 2 years for the KAW map so... So... for the first time in my 16 years involved with the SF series, I'm will to give the benefit of the doubt. (those that know me know that don't happen often, or at all)

Hello everyone, i haven't posted here for a couple of years, being busy with real life issues, but stayed in contact with a few of us and just came to say hi. We are in lockdown in Spain, i was in the Army Logistics Academy converting after promotion (from Infantry to Electronics, feels like a monkey training to become an astronaut) and they basiclly told of to F back home and carry on with the subjects online. It is kind of frustrating since we just got certified back in Law Enforcement and NBQ and could be out with some units wich were deployed providing support. Family is Ok, but my sister works as a therapist in a nursing home and has lost several patients to Covid-19. She was quite attached to them, and it is taking its toll, i'm concerned she might get old-sergeant syndrome as this crap goes by. Just wish you all the best, take any lockdown or quarantine measures seriously, it sucks but you get used to it. Don't give it any chances, it is far more serious than any flu and it is quite a cruel way to die.

That sucks. Wish he'd taken things a little more serious, though nobody deserves this so indeed hope he regains his health.

Also, he seems to judge a terrain solely by its tileset. Some terrains have good tilesets, but their geography and locations are utterly wrong. Others are very accurate to the Real World, but use older tilesets. Vietnam is an example, we have good-looking tilesets for it, but it's one of the most inaccurate terrains I have ever seen, and it's even a stock product. PS: good terrains don't grow on trees, they can require months of (unpaid) work, and eventually such works are released for free here. I could quickly make something that barely resembles Syria, with zero accuracy and zero details but with the Syria name on it, and with a very good looking desert tileset. As always, it seems mediocre products would pay off better than quality ones (quality is what I would always aim for in all of my projects, no matter what).

It is certainly man caused or can be accused for letting go, it did not magically start on the "market" with a bat or snake as they want people to believe. This virus lives in bats, and naturally would never transfer over to humans, in the laboratory they studied it and through some "human action" was able to "cross over". Even if they deny it it come from the laboratory, accidental release or intentional, not so sure, and the real "why?" is also to be guessed.. Since it was under study, probably they had a good idea what things can counter it or how it would react to certain environmental or chemical "exposure".

Here is spooky map: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html Denmark: "the responsible Government Virus Institute cannot recognize the numbers, and they do not know who gives Hopkins the figures [for their map]." Afrika: Generally the clinics there do not have the means to determine anything like this at all. For example: I have been told personally by a doctor for tropical diseases, in the top hospital of my country, that they do not know a single trustable clinic in Nigeria. Not one. When it gets beyond the obvious they will say it is Malaria to be done with it.

Coronavirus AKA Covid19, discovered in November 2019 in China when the alert sounds were sounded. The 19 in Covid19 means discovered 2019, fun fact. Western civilizations and European countries were all asleep at the wheel watching the train wreck in the US that not even the loudest siren in Asia could be heard over the whine. China postponed the Chinese New Year folks, they don't do that for a run a day flu or cold. This is not political, just utterly disgusting and I digress. May you all weather the storm and sail again another day even in times like these when stupid is manning the helm. Be well all. E

I have an announcement to make. As you probably know, the biggest complaint I've been getting about my ship models is that they aren't cute enough. I know, I know. Every day, I receive hundreds of PMs urging me to make my ships more lovable and ladylike. I wasn't sure how to fix this issue until I discovered the wildly-popular Japanese media franchise "Kantai Collection." So, starting this April 1st, I will begin revamping all my existing ships and building the entire IJN fleet for Strike Fighters 2... as cute anime girls. Now that's more like it! But how does that translate into a 3D game? Well, I'll be collaborating with modellers from Sega, so here is what you can expect: To be honest, I'm not sure how to get that cell-shaded effect, or how to do those adorable animations in the SF2 engine. And frankly I have zero experience in modelling human figures. But I won't let that stop me. I promise that I'll give the CombatAce community what it wants!

Agreed. In the two week period from December 26, 2019 to January 8, 2020 when all this information was coming out of China's CDC we should have closed ALL international travel coming into the United States. Inexperience, susceptibility to conspiracy theories, and his own anger of being impeached led to classifying the intelligence as top secret and subjecting Congress' hearings to classified which had the effect of keeping the information from the people, states, municipalities, and hospitals. It was deny deny deny, hoax hoax, next democrat hoax, deny deny deny, yeah I always knew it was a pandemic. I can't think of a bigger dereliction of responsibilities and duties.

well my personal experience with corona has been rather on the mild side compared to two other brothers of mine with the third brother, mother and father so far not encountering or being asymptomatic. father is already struggling with severe health issues so if he encounters it, he will be dead without a doubt. Denmark, time and place of infection 11th of march 13.45 local time, local grosser, expedient was coughing mildly and looked like sweating a little when we(roomie and i) started to deposit our goods, looked seriously worse after we payed for them so either rapid onset of symptoms or light differences made all the difference. we where wearing gloves, we cleaned every goods we bought when we came home so most likely airborne. symptoms started next morning at 0900 when we(roomie and i) got up, fatigue coughing, sweating, muscle pains - like having taken a light run and forgot to stretch, slight fever at 37.2 celcius which was also the highest temperature we recorded during our symptomatic period (lowest at 35.8) and the feeling of having a much severe fever than that for the first three days. Hard to breathe after 7 days which still persist, had indigestion after 9 days which took almost a week to resolve and i still get annoyances from it now with either loose or hard belly. started getting some slight chest pains with the indigestion (which needs to get checked first opportunity but since the docs are closed to anything but the most severe it is going to be a long while) which certainly supports the case of some serious long term damage... coughing and hardness to breathe continues to today, mostly when there is dust or dry air, still get an occasional chest pain so most likely permanent damage to heart or heart region, fatigue is still present and seems to remain, likely o2 uptake could be down but i cannot detect it with any means i have at my disposal now - did see some lack of responsiveness around day 12 to 14. older brother, his wife and two kids was hit much more severely by fever and cough, but is on the mend and on his way back to work. younger brother just had a baby so they are "safe" in the hospital care. earliest symptoms in the first few days would not have been something i would have bothered with prior to this virus and would probably had gone on working from home, but it keeps sucking energy from you, slowly hitting you with every guerilla virus attack, draining you and not letting you recover or really rest so you feel drained all the time, tired when you get up, tired after taking a nap, make you feel like you just had a short run and forgot to stretch all the time and never recovered from the last run either. so i would not want to get hit by this any harder or again.
