5 pointsfirst off, welcome to CombatAce and the SF2 community at large as for the aircraft themselves, most modders esp. for SF2 package the mods so that you unzip the file, and then drop it into your mod folder. there are generally detailed instructions with most of the mods, and nobody has really used an exe for a mod in 9-10 years. Start your game then exit (or fly a mission with stock aircraft, your choice). This will create a mod folder in your Win10 Saved Games folder. opening up it should look like this open your mod folder until you see a similar layout. the new to you, downloaded mod will at least have an objects folder, it may also have other folders like sounds, effects etc. cut or copy and paste from the download folder to your mod folder this should put the new aircraft in game as for the drive you operate from, take a look at the options.ini in your mod folder. this may be created automatically in your C drive (where Windows automatically c Creates Saved Games folders), cut and paste to G if your wish. the highlighted file is the Options.ini. if you look at my preview on the right, the next to last "paragraph" that is titled [Mods] is what you will adjust. Make the Directory= (whatever drive you want):\Saved Games\Thirdwire\(your version of the game) the first time opening an ini, you will want to choose to open it with notepad, a standard Windows tool. not going to go into allowing overwrites at this time as your question specifies aircraft not stock in most versions. i hope this helps ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ to the admins, modders and other old heads here i actually went to the Knowledge Base with the intent of pointing and saying read but when i looked at the topics and read through them, i realized that someone with extremely limited knowledge of computers may in fact have a hard time. there is no Barney style explanation of loading a basic mod to a basic vanilla install. closest it comes is how to add a 3d party bird when there's already a stock one. Given BasBoss's question, i figured it was statistically unlikely they were trying to load a Netz mod. we do often say "go look it up" but we often presume a certain level of computer savvy for anyone playing this game. the beauty of the sim is that you really dont need more than "i can turn it on and get on the internet" level of computer smarts to just fly it. you do need more to mod it at any level tho. i know, long about 11 years ago i was on the Zoolander "the files are in the computer" level. still feel that way seeing some of you guys' work

4 pointsOk, some more details. Completely inspired by Gepard’s Operation Seelöwe work, a comment alluded to needing an upgraded London Bridge. Rightfully so, the one we have is archaic and definitely needs an overhaul. First – full disclosure and acknowledgement that the original base model mesh is not my work. It is based on a publicly available free source model with no author attributed. Next, that being said – like many free models, you get what you pay for. This model was an absolute bastard to work with and had countless issues. I mean endless open edges / unwelded verts, massive 8K+ poly pieces, double-faced/overlapping polys, incorrect texture mapping and God knows what else. So I created new scratch mesh pieces, brand new textures, new UVW mappings, fixed shadow issues and basically re-worked the whole thing over. Why? Well, I invested a lot of time researching and gathering reference photos/textures – but kept coming back to this option especially because it had some really great main texture pieces. This model will most likely never meet the level of quality I was hoping for, and I’m sure there will be some issues here and there. Unlike most of my stuff, this one is definitely tipping on the higher poly side but I plan to make some lower level .LODs and tune up performance eventually. In hindsight, wish I would have taken my friend Del’s advice when he said, sometimes the time to fix issues is better spent starting over – wise words indeed in this case. Having just started from scratch would have resulted in cleaner mesh topography and probably given me more satisfaction in the end. But it's good to at least be at a place where it's feeling "decent enough" and dare I say even rivaling some other flight sim payware additions like this one... OK, enough of all the boring details, right? On to the screenshots for you to enjoy! This will be available as an exclusive feature in Gepard’s Operation Seelöwe project – so stay tuned as his work progresses! As for future ideas – I eventually would really like to add in vehicle and pedestrian traffic on the bridge (but would need help researching era-specific vehicles) so more to come. In-Game Shots

2 pointsOn the main screen go to Single Mission, and then click on Player Aircraft Type to select your aircraft. From there you can specify (just click on the dropdown menus) other things like what type of mission you can fly with that aircraft.

2 pointsC'mon Mr Wrench sir, we are blokes, and we all know real blokes do NOT ever read instructions , for to do so would be un blokey, and far too logical , and we cant be having logic and common sense invading our fav flight sim.....this is why no Females ( or blokettes ) post in here, as they are horribly Locical and ALWAYS read instructions and the like........a ghastly state of affairs if you ask me sir !! Yours truly Major Dennis Bloodnok OBE, MT, MT & MT. CMDR III Armoured Thunderboxes ( RET )

2 pointsif you're seeing exes, you're in the wrong spot. So, look for your mods folder, like DA just said also, when describing issues and/or problems, you need to state if you're Win7 or Win10, as I know there's some differences as to mod folder locations, especially when one has installed to another drive. and always, ALWAYS ALWAYS read the install instructions, also known as the "read me" file

2 pointsIt was one prototype with Gardenya ECM, and the other prototype was with SPO-15 RWR (project rejected by the RuAF) and that evolved into the enhanced project of MLA to MLD upgrade.

1 pointView File "Digital Integration Tornado" Menu Music for Strike Fighters 2 Menu music from "Tornado" for Strike Fighters 2, replaces the standard menu music with that from the DOS Sim by Digital Integration. Features 9 out of 10 tracks as I could not find a use for "Freedom". Installation: Drag and drop the .wav files in Part 1 and Part 2 to C:\[user]\Saved Games\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 [Name of Installation]\Menu and that's it! Simple as that, some INI editing might be required. Tested on Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic June 2013 version, should work on any Strike Fighters 2 Version. 1 pointThere is a way to reduce it to 1 deg increments using TAE. Possibly with left click or right click on the mouse. Can't remember exactly.

1 pointYeah, the cockpit is one large 3D model, so somebody would have to have the original max file, and then add the scope, not like MSFS

1 pointAs soulfreak said this pod TIALD is only for left LID station in British Harrier GR.7 and 9. The model is intended to use only on that station, not on wings. Modder should limit that weapon and weapon stations by specific station code...but it was a long time ago and many things happened since then. Another thing is Marine Harrier can not carry TIALD. But this applies only to fetish and orthodox players. AN/AAQ-28 should be more appropriate.

1 pointAccording to Russian sources/photos the radio altimeter is "Reper-M" ("N" is probably another case of Letter mis-ID) on the ML series. Two prototypes with internal ECM, the MiG-23MLDG with Gardenya jammer and one other.

1 pointI have chased this down too and are satisfied that no MiG-23 fighter variant in service had an internal jammer. I think the miss understanding in some sources is due to mistakes in translations or a 'fitted for but not with' type situation. Some Soviet MLD test variants were wired for jamming pods and/or internally jammers but this was not rolled out across the fleet.

1 pointasap....just few bits to edit....like the co pilot position of arms....pit has a few different colour textures too..will post screens later.as they need some additions..I will convert the freeware DC-3 t a later date as ive but a much to do...like the static H-19...gimme day or two and I ll send it to you kev...pit should be ready sunday
-
1 pointA companion....yoke was proving a bore as it went through the clipboard...but it seems in the DC series you ould lock the yoke,so I have limited its movement for copilot version...will have pilot...and one with co pilot...looking at pic...might put left hand on the levers(red) and other holding clipboard up a bit higher so it misses the yoke. btw this is from Freeware FSX Dc-3 HCAA model...most of it I remade anyways...all gauges buttons lights.panel ..some of the other parts etc...its about 40% rebuilt

1 pointThanks yak and logan removes them from cockpit view fine....but adding the placeforpilots method makes no pilots in the a\c outside view...will just move pit forwards...only thing works. its stock c-47 using... ok using c47 settings and a little moving...seems fine now....offset seemed to do it.. still getting oddities with this counter tried as new altimeter [Altimeter2] Type=PRESSURE_ALTIMETER NodeName=P_alt_dig1 CounterNodeFormat=alt_dig%d MovementType=ROTATION_X ValueUnit=FEET Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-360.0 Set[02].Value=10000.0 and [Altimeter2] Type=PRESSURE_ALTIMETER_1 NodeName=P_alt_dig1 MovementType=ROTATION_X ValueUnit=FEET Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=-360.0 Set[02].Value=10000.0 but it insists on counting 1000s of feet not 10k will keep trying

1 pointWe're nearly there gentlemen.. I'll try to put a small update log together later this week.. so much terrific work has been done by the team! Baffmeister has been brilliant; putting the final touches on his F-5a flight model, Crusader has been responsible for much of the avionics work ..(more on that later!) and ofcourse, RavenClaw; who has made the RF-5a model possible (which I have to admit I'd failed on numerous attempts!) Currently been focused on completing the textures on the first release pack which will feature Hellenic Air Force liveries from the 60s to the 90s.. pretty close, I think.. and 1 more.. Regards, Sophocles

1 pointLast sit rep this weekend: First try to populate the target area Tilbury Docks: I used factory buildings (shed roof buildings) instead long warehouses. The orientation of the buildings does not fit perfectly to the tile, because the target editor spin buildings in 5° steps. This has to do by hand. But it is only a first try. Finish for today. Feierabend.

1 pointSit rep: The tiles of small rivers are dark now. This job has done and i'm satisfied with it. London tiling is also finished so far. Perhaps here and there some small things to do. Now i'm going down the river Themse and i have made 2 new tiles for Tilbury docks and the near Fort Tilbury. Making tiles from black and white ´photos is not as easy as thought. (As usually) The colors does not fit. Not yet. Give me 2 weeks or so. ;-)

1 pointI think i will release the terrain with the JPG files. The TGA files could come as goodies in a seperate folder, so that guys with good computers can install the files with water effect.
