3 pointsI'm having a lot of fun with your Palestine terrain. Stephen, good to know that you are recovered. Recently FE2 attracted me. It's a great game. Since then I started to modding it. My next projects are a medal pack for all nations and several new menu screens (including plane hangars). This will take a lot of time. All screens will be in 1920x1200.

2 pointsdon't remind me!!! iran iraq terrain come to mind -- that one airbase west of Teharn, that is (now) on a Lost World like plateau. or the AmericanNorthWest terrain -- ugggggghhh!!! In a desert region like GKABS is working with, this would not be that big an issue. But on most terrains that are "hilly", the TE will mess things up. that function above is one of the few things I actually use the TFD tool for.

1 pointI've been busy with other projects and real life for a very long time. I hope to get back to EAW once the snow falls. I still modify my site from time to time just to correct errors and links. I don't see many posts about EAW users anywhere, so I figure the game has died out or everyones happily getting along with the game and support. :) I'm still planning on continuing and going threw the lenghty list of files and tools I have for DL. There are files in files that should be located else where for DL and easily missed. Plus duplicate files, which I like to weed out. Okay hope all are doing well, miss actively supporting the game and friends....until later.

1 pointThat might happen rarely. Just manually edit it back to 0. Inside TFDtool.ini, find Modify_Tags and put it to 1; it enables you to manually change the tag value of the selected tile. It's all written in the included ReadMe file, TFDtool.htm.
-
1 pointJust select "all Tag values appropriate", and it will set all airbase tiles to 0, other land tiles to 1 and water tiles to 2. It's one function I had requested to gerwin. It works flawlessly, you do not have to do anything else. No, you must do it individually. I did so for dozens of my terrains, in total hundreds of airbases, go figure. No easy answer. Sometimes it's not needed, other times it creates issues as TFDtool does not give you the exact idea of how big your custom airbase is, and how each surrounding object is big and placed on the terrain. You must always double-check in-game if you want to flatten with pinpoint accuracy. Others will tell you that the Terrain Editor by TW is the best solution for flattening airbases, but it's bullshit, since that one creates huge, flat circular areas around airbases, thus ruining the geography of the real terrain.

1 pointOne query...do us carriers have the thrust dispersing jets in decks ?...2?17

1 pointVolker, I thought material mappings have to remain consistent between each .LOD. I'm guessing perhaps this is not the case with what you have now. I might suggest double-checking the hierarchy of course, but also ensure that you are applying the exact same 3ds max material settings to BOTH .LODS. I think this should solve your issue, good luck. For example on your LOD1: ( 5) 03 - Default: Specular=0.25, Glossiness=0.12, Color:<229,229,229> ALQ-184_3Band_02.jpg And on your Lod2: ( 5) 07 - Default: Specular=0.80, Glossiness=0.40, Color:<229,229,229> ALQ-184_3Band.jpg

1 pointCan there be a movie about General Mattis? I'd love to watch a movie about him.

1 pointruss forgot to mention, you first need to extract their respective data ini, place them in their respective aircraft folders in the mods folder, THEN change the exhaust emitter name!! :) I thought all Spey powered Phantoms were smokeless? Not like the J79s at all, only smokeless in burner

1 point@Wrench, read your comment in the other topic regarding incomplete / out of date non-offical , illegal game versions missing key components. Just for info , this is not the case here, it's a full buy and download from the official 3rd Wire Website. Kind regards, Snappy

1 pointThe Kamov-26 was always underpowered. To fly this helicopter it was neccessary to push the engines to their limits. There was no power reserve for emergencies. IIRC there was a Ka-126 with gasturbines, which was a much better helicopter.

1 pointFiat G.55 Centauro - 5th Air Regiment, Turkish Air Force, 1945 When the governments of Germany and Turkey signed a non-aggression pact on June 18th, 1941 the main benefits to Germany was to keep Turkey friendly with the Axis powers and to also gain immediate access to Turkish chromite and iron ore. In return, Turkey would receive aircraft, anti-aircraft guns, tanks and spare parts. For the Turkish Air Force this would mean the receipt of 60 brand new Focke-Wulf Fw-190A-3 aircraft shipped via rail as disassembled aircraft plus the equivalent of another 12 aircraft shipped as spare parts. The initial two batches of 30 aircraft were safely delivered to the new railway station located close to Yeşilköy Airfield near Istanbul and were assembled during the Spring of 1943 with initial deliveries being made to the 5th Fighter Regiment based at Bursa in June 1943. During the Autumn of 1943 the Turkish Air Force began to chase up the late delivery of the remaining 12 Fw-190A-3's and were disappointed to learn that, at Adolf Hitler's instruction, they were being witheld as Turkey had agreed to supply Chromite to the United States and United Kingdom who had jointly embarked upon a strategy of "preclusive buying" of Turkish chromite even though they did not actually need it. The Turkish Prime Minister, Şükrü Saracoğlu, intervened and whilst Hitler would not budge on the missing Fw-190's he agreed to send "other fighter aircraft from the Italian front" before the end of 1943. Turkish Air Force officials thought that this would mean Messerschmitt Bf-109G's but were disappointed to discover that the crated aircraft received at Yeşilköy from Italy in December 1943 were 12 Fiat G.55 Centauro aircraft recently requisitioned by the Luftwaffe but rejected by them. A technical team from the recently formed Turkish Aviation Association arrived from Ankara during early 1944 to assemble the G.55's and flight-testing was carried out by Sabiha Gökçen the famous Turkish female aviator. During April 1944, the unwanted G.55's were sent to the 4th Air Regiment based at Merzifon where they remained in service until late February 1945. Skin Credit: Charles
