View File SF2NA A-7s Skin Pack SF2NA A-7s Skin Pack = Tested in SF2NA, Full-5 Merged This project started as a personal customization to improve historically the skins for the VA-72 A-7B_71 for the squadron cruise aboard JFK in 1975 and for VA-81 and -83 aboard Saratoga during the clashes with Libya of 1986. So,I realize them basically to be used in the Northern Sabre 75 and El Dorado Canyon Campaignes present in the SF2NA Expansion Pack and SF2 Med Crisis. The starting skins with which I played around are 3W for the A-7B_71 and the Wrench'TPS one for the A-7E_74,so much of the credit will be deserved by them; I added to the Echo skins some missing panel lines and the latches and air vents of the avionic bays plus some extra weathering and corrosion control. The Bravo received the same treatement of the Echo plus the squadron specific blue on the wings and fin tips and the white of the nose. All the decals was done by me. All the Bu.Nos are historycally correct for all three Squadrons; this was one of the hardest part and I was able to barely sort out the required 12 to complete the standard number of planes deployed by a Navy squadron. ========== To Install: As always raccomended, all in the relative folders in your game(s) ----------------------------- Credits: 3W for the A-7B_71 and A-7E_74 Corsairs and the -7B_71 skin Wrench for the already great A-7E_74 TPS skins,a handy starting point Makoto for the idea and permission of the VA-72 fuselage stripe decals Me for the decals and the small improvements ------------ Know issue: The first issue is common to all three skins; despite I'd the pilots name for the Squadrons cruises,I wasn't able to pair name and assigned planes,so the nameplates are present but empty. Next nthe ones for the VA-72: the most important, I forgot one chess line on the rudder;I was misguided by the initial reference found and when I noticed the error, due to unwillingness to redo the work again from such an advanced state,I choose to left all as it was, sorry, The fuselage stripe;actually the stripe will stop at the lower edge of the avionic bays access doors, but I was unable to obtain this and as result the decals continue 'till the most forward of the MLG doors, sorry but my skill are very limited... If someone will address these issues, feel free to try ( and share) the result! -------------------------------------------- Legal note: This package may NOT in any way, shape or form be used in any payware addition. ------------------------------------------- Gianni "RustyKurnass" Coniglio ========== Submitter RustyKurnass Submitted 11/17/2020 Category A-7

I found the project formidable. I'm even practicing here to create my models and share with you. SF2 does not run right on my PC. But SF1 runs perfectly. I've been looking for this aircraft for SF1 for about three years to be able to fly with it on WOE. Do you know what I'm going to do? I will not pray to anyone. I will learn to make my own models and share them with you and whoever needs them. Thank you for your help.

that's the only one there is. the DAT site is not dead, it just requires "special permission, members only access". Instructions are on the first page, iirc. good luck with that!

Great info. gents' - always enjoy reading these threads. If I remember correctly from my readings, some examples of later batches of the Tripehound moved the fuel pump prop. from the cabane strut to one of the gear struts, right or left wheel strut, can't remember the details now. This was done to place that small prop. further away from the pilot's face, but may have also been done to improve efficiency of the pump - with the small prop. (if I'm not mistaken) facing forward once the pump was moved to one of the gear struts - giving it more of a direct "blast" from the main prop. that way. Such setups are more typical on variants of the Camel. Here's some more info. on the Rotherham pump, as relevant to Tripes. Apparently, the 130hp Clerget-powered Tripes switched over to a mechanical fuel pump, from the wind-driven, earlier type (thus the absence of the prop.-pump on some models possibly): http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12934 Von S

The F-22 Raptor was developed to counter a growing threat during the cold war. However as hostilities subsided the need for this aircraft went away according to some. To others there's still a great need for this aircraft. Moving beyond the drama and focusing on the facts, the F-22 Raptor isn't something to scoff at and we'll quickly explain this aircraft history in this presentation.

Thank you guys for the replies. I know the game is old, but for me it´s a part of my childhood...I guess that´s the reason for playing it again. And now with all the Corona shit I´ve more than enough time for "fighting on the computer" :D

They have been upgraded & migrated to our SF2 downloads section, or no longer exist. personally, i feel its a waste of time and effort on a win10 machine to install 1st gens and then try to find all the addons, when SF2 just pretty much drops in.

You should migrate to SF2. No contest.

@Wrench I think ponyboy meant the links to thirdwire.com (posted by crusader) are dead. @ponyboy314 The links crusader posted are indeed dead. But as Wrench wrote, you can also download the thirdwire tools here from combatace.com. But I also recommend the cat extractor from mues toolbox. After a small configuration step (i.e. setting the SF2 install directory) the cat extractor (from mues toolbox) searches all CAT files at once. In contrast with the thirdwire cat extractor you must open each cat file separately, meaning you have to know what cat file contains the file you are looking for.

I'm trying to bring the file size of the LOD down enough to include the air pump. The pump itself, the mounting bracket, the spinning prop, and the static prop all have to look good from the cockpit view so it adds a lot of K to the file. It looks like not all planes had a pump on the strut, so I won't feel too bad if I can't include it.

Hi Quack, I know you've been wanting a Sopwith Triplane for years. Sorry it took so long for me to get to it. I hope you'll find the time to download it and fly it when it's finished - and maybe make some skins? I've been playing around with animation for the shocks when the plane lands, but I still don't have it running smooth enough yet. Over the years I've figured out how to make more efficient models, so I've been able to add detail to the planes without sacrificing frame rate. For the last two years (at least) I've been able to include damage nodes in my planes. TGAs are something I should try out.
