3 pointsDear Friends, The team is on a well-deserved extended weekend and Jason is lost in the middle of America on a research mission, so today’s DD is very straightforward. Behold the jet powered Arado AR 234 B-2 bomber! What sleek lines she has! As you saw last week, the Arado’s unique cockpit is also in development. We are working as hard as we can to make her operational as fast as we can. The Sturmovik Team

2 pointsIts better to call this plane Polikarpov Po-189. In 1940 the soviets changed their designationsystem from american style (I means istrebityel = fighter, or F in american system) to german style (First two letters from name of the chief of development bureau.)

1 pointI don't know if you realize it but the rear spade that is lowered for firing is mirrored on the right side too: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2F7lfsMzonKA8%2Fhqdefault.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7lfsMzonKA8&tbnid=hbzgsfmMU8bORM&vet=12ahUKEwiGuY_nkIT0AhXHqXIEHSc4Bo4QMygUegUIARDqAQ..i&docid=Ea7F5UNOUJLGlM&w=480&h=360&itg=1&q=M109A2&client=firefox-b-1-d&ved=2ahUKEwiGuY_nkIT0AhXHqXIEHSc4Bo4QMygUegUIARDqAQ

1 pointBrits of a certain age may remember a 1970s/1980's comic called 'Battle Picture Weekly' which then became simply 'Battle,' and a strip called 'Johnny Red' When pilot Johnny Redburn is discharged from the RAF for striking an officer, he is forced to join the Merchant Navy. But a German sneak attack forces Redburn back into the air — in a stolen CAM ship Hurricane when the pilot is killed! Having beaten off the enemy bombers Redburn aims for Russia, planning to save his plane and career, but on landing, meets the “Falcon Squadron” of the 5th Soviet Air Brigade, who are under German attack! Redburn takes to the skies once more — to fight for Russia! Now, thanks to Crisisloaner I have a Falcons decal that I can apply to the various Hurricane models we have in-game as well as the assortment of MiGs, Yaks and Laggs that the Falcons flew, and over 40 years after thrilling to the comic exploits after school I get to fly as Johnny Red (or Yakob if I feel like flying a Russian job) after work and, as the advert says, I'm loving it... A Merlin engine and 8 .303s - the sound of my childhood.. 'Tough luck chum. I think it's time you got out..' The Luftwaffe pilot calmly switched off his engine in an attempt to starve the fire... 'He's getting away Johnny' 'Leave him Rudi, if he survives a landing in a snowfield he's still got a twenty mile walk to the nearest German lines..' Heading for home.. Escort mission.. ...The newest replacement Chekov had only joined the squadron the day before, and there hadn't been enough time to paint his aircraft in Falcons markings.. Later, in the midst of battle... 'Chekov, watch your tail...' 'I'm not going to get there in time...' Johnny rolled in the avenge the youngster.. And made short work of the 109 Johnny leads the Falcons to intercept a bombing raid over the Black Sea coast.. 'Get stuck in lads, there's plenty for everyone..' Johnny and Nina..

1 pointOK, thanks for the informative reply. I've got the MultiMod but have neglected the wind settings, so will now take a look. Also took the liberty of downloading your FM models pack while I was at it - FMtweaksBHAH2ver1.0_VonS. And the Franken mod to improve FPS. Cheers

1 point@OP, as far as I can tell from flying in WOFF of any recent iteration, and also from some of the comments I've read on SimHQ - historical wind drift directions are modeled in WOFF. Speaking of winds in WOFF, default values give lots of "vertical winds" (no jokes please ) in bad weather - so, to compensate and give yourself more of an obvious feeling of horizontal winds and horizontal wind drift, make sure to keep the vertical winds setting in JJJ's excellent MultiMod either set to low at all times or no higher than moderate (and make sure always to have horizontal winds at the default/full setting in the MultiMod). The turbulence values may be tweaked to taste (low, moderate, full). I've cooked up a variety of simulation.xml files that, in conjunction with the MultiMod, provide further subtleties to winds in the WOFF PE/UE eds., but those files are not recommended for BH&H2. For BH&H2, recommended simply is to use the MultiMod settings instead. Also, those who are enjoying my FrankenBHAH Enhancement Package (for smooth FPS and other benefits) in BH&H2 will notice slightly different intervals between large turbulence bumps. Have extended the default no turbulence interval from 5 secs. to 10 or 12 secs. in the simulation.xml file included in my Enhancement Package (makes for more realistic, occasional turbulence that way I think - instead of having more constant, hyper-turbulent rumbles à la RoF). For a good comment on winds in WOFF, here is an older post by weather and clouds expert BB. For recommended wind settings via the MultiMod, and as per season (spring/summer, autumn, winter), I recommend the info. in this pic. that I posted a while back. Happy flying (in smooth and windy conditions), Von S

1 pointSukhoi SU-30MKA (Modernizirovannyi Kommercheskiy Argentinskaya) from the 6th Fighter Group, based in Tandil, Buenos Aires, during its presentation tour around the country, visiting the Aconcagua near the border with Chile. The SU-30MKA is considered the most advanced variant of the SU-30, being matched only by the SU-30MKI, with advanced air-to-ground and air-to-air capabilities, it can carry Mk-series bombs and bomb racks, KAB-series GPS/laser guided bombs, Exocet anti-ship missiles and various air-to-ground missiles such as the Kh-29 and Kh-35. It entered service in december, 2021, and 33 airframes have been produced, with 3 more arriving in June, 2022. The MKA is considered the most advanced plane in Latin America, showing an outstanding performance against brasilian Gripens in the Carioca-Gaucho joint exercise. The Argentinian navy has considered acquiring at least 12 of these aircraft to equip the Naval aviation and complement the Super Etendard Modernisé bought in 2019.
