4 pointsSo the coastline airport of Buenos Aires looks now: I still must do some paintshop work on the tile. The color of the water, for instance. Normaly it would be correct to paint all sea tiles in the brown color, which you see now on the tile, but for me the brownish water looks in game like desert, not like ocean.

3 pointsWell, it is much easier to build up a new model than extract and work on an old lod. Just to be clear. Yes, we can 'hack' models from the game. Not going to name tools anyway. But it is crap, and not worth the effort.

2 pointsI moved the airfield 2 km westward. Then i made some changes in the coastline, added some port tiles and enlarged the island Costanera Sur a little bit. I must still relocate the target area of the port and rework the area, where i have now located the port. Then i perhaps will rework the island again, relocate the powerplant, perhaps include the shipyard. This would need reworking of 2 tiles. Lets see.

1 point@ trimmermedal833 Which stock weapon models are you looking to improve? Chances are we may already have better models of these weapons from our great modders here at CA. Have you checked the various weapons packs and standalone weapons in the downloads section? I myself hardly ever use the stock weapons anymore, considering we have much higher quality replacements.

1 pointIn my opinion with our usual use of the game it is not useful to extract the SF2 Lod files !

1 pointAn experiment with brown water tiles, with the colors taken from the airport tile. Brown does not look like water. It looks like a desert.
-
1 pointYou can't and that statement is why you can't. TK locked them intentionally to stop pirating and the like. So the answer is there is no way to get to them.

1 pointWe (the admins) have been getting some well, complaints, about the lack of information on some of the recent uploads. This is just a reminder to all CA Members that are making mods and uploading them. We always appriciate the contributions, but pleas follow these guidelines!! ==================== Important Information on File Upload Policies and the Minimum Requirements Thereof: At the very minimum, the following is required for an upload here at CombatAce 1) A screenshot of the mod; not a photograph of the Real Life ™ item, but an in-game shot, so people can see what it looks like. For terrains/terrain mods, a shot of your favorite aircraft flying over the terrain, highlighting terrain features is a good one. 2) A quick, simple description, this is what shows in the Announcement Threads below, describing for WHICH 3W Game series; meaning if for ONLY SF/SFG/WoV/WoE/WoI, or Only SF2 Series, OR is usable in both; what the purpose of the mod (is it a "What If..", or a mod of an original aircraft or mod of another mod, etc) Generally, explain the purpose and intent of the Upload. 3) Inside the uploaded zip, a COMPLETE readme with full instructions on How To Install, if other parts are needed and where to get them; etc. There are several dozens of REALLY good, clear conscise readmes around that one can base theirs off of (I should know - I wrote most of them!) Also, list sources and if using someone else's as a base PLEASE make sure you have permission (as in for TMF Products). If the mod is from someone that has signed the Freeware Accords, PLEASE make sure you list their name, and Thank Them for their Original Work. It's the civilized way, doncha know! Thank you all for you kind attention to details; working together we can only create better mods, and a better 3rd Wire Community! Wrench kevin stein

1 pointI found the skyscraper.lods, which i made in 2009, on my harddrive. For test reasons i placed them in downtown Buenos Aires. Left the Buenos Aires Dock Sud Tank Farm, mid the portland, right the powerplant Costanera. In background you see the National Congress Building, the argentinian parliament. (Okay its the LOD of the german Reichtag. But it is the only LOD which fits more or less.) The textures of the skyscrapers must rework. but for making a skyline they are not to bad, i think.

1 pointTo make the Port of Buenos Aires i would need 10 to 15 new tiles. But I'm to lazy to create them at the moment. Its a big amount of work. Thatswhy i used tiles which i already have. And so the result looks in game: If you look to the powerplant you see waves over the grasland. It's a small mistake. I had forgotten to invert the mask of the tga file. To correct this costs only some seconds. No problem. Some parts of the port area are already populated with buildings and ships. The rest will follow soon.

1 pointI'm playing with bridge models. I found two on my harddrive: I placed them side by side for test reasons. From higher altitudes they are looking good. But if you flying low you see, that the ends are "hanging in the air". The bridge ends of SF2 Vietnam neighter fit nor they looks good. I would need a longer, perhaps curvy ramp, which reaches 34 meters at the end. Or i play with the tile_hm.bmp file to include such a ramp in the tile.

Comet KSK-aircraft "K". Experimental aircraft- analog cruise missile ?S-1. Comet Stalin. History: ...The first flight carried out analog test pilot Amet-Khan Sultan from the Air Force Institute Chkalov airfield in January 4, 1951, then the test was moved to the Crimean Air Force test site. From May began air starts counterpart aboard the Tu-4. Total participated in the testing of four aircraft "K", which Amet-Khan, S.Anohin, F.Burtsev, V. Pavlov and P.Kazmin completed 150 flights. With the transition to working out starts on the real target was adjusted guidance and control system "Comet" - an analog of relief after walking on the target, like a combat missile, and only in the final section of the pilot shut off homing, took it over and come back to the airfield. All flights went well, although the pilots consider them extremely difficult. In one such flight analogue Amet-Khan escaped suspension with an inoperative engine that could only run at the water, the other - at Burtsev turning off the autopilot and he hardly overpowering servos, barely able to turn away from the target ship...
