5 pointsAnd one more post for this thread regarding the ver. 9.7 update . Have now re-tweaked all of the Fokk. D.7 data inis for more subtle altitude table data numbers and subtler variations for control surfaces, also combed over the Dr.1 variants too and re-did the alt. table numbers, as well as re-touched the control surfaces, also for the Fokk. D.8. Alt. table data numbers are slightly more refined now than previously for the rotaries, with intervals of about 700 instead of the original 900 meters between power drops...should work well for the Oberursels and gives them about 50-60% of total power at their ceilings, as was typical for many WWI engines, rotaries and inlines (no power curves here dropping to zero as for later piston aircraft but more of a stepped decrease until the alt. ceiling is hit). Will take a short break now before looking over the Aviatik, SAML, and Anatra C.1 - then I have to package everything carefully by folder - hopefully this will all be released by Feb. or March. The packaging is often slower than the modding. Pics below of the OAW Fokk. D.7 and another classic that I need to fly more often since it's so much fun. (The OAW variant is a fine aircraft by the way - it can hold its own although with less power at alts. than the 7f variant...I think Mikael Carlson's D.7 has the 180hp (au) Mercedes typical of the OAW builds.) 3 pointsMy Windsock Data File of the Berg D.1 arrived yesterday, so I spent today tinkering with "accurate" colors. The problem with Austro-Hungarian camo schemes is that almost no reliable information has survived the last 100 years. My 2002 edition of Austro-Hungarian Army Aircraft of World War One deleted the color camo illustrations found in the original 1993 edition because few of the colors could be reliably authenticated. The Windsock Data File has a color photo of a Berg D.1 rudder that has survived, and its colors are less saturated (less vivid) than most of the color references found on the internet. Granted the color pigments have oxidized in the last 100 years, but even so the colors are quite dull and unsaturated. So.....I spent a couple of hours tinkering with my artwork to better reflect the sample shown in the Data File.

3 pointsJust completed a low poly D-30 to add to the MT-LB model. I just need to make some ammo boxes to put on top of the MT-LB. I will have the D-30 as a separated model too.

2 pointsSONO TORNATO!

2 pointsI found this 3d max script and I thought of sharing it with you. and it's Free Why Blueprint Manager? Most modelers will tell you that the most annoying part of creating a new model is setting up the reference images. Once you have them prepared in Photoshop or your 2d graphics software of choice you have to create the image planes having the same proportions with the images, you have to create materials for each plane, apply the materials to the planes and make sure they are properly mapped and visible in the viewport, align the image planes and make sure they properly fit with each other, then lastly, change the properties of the newly created image planes so they are non renderable, when they are forzen they still display the images, and have backface culling on so that they don’t interfere with viewing your model. Tired yet? Just to add to this, when you finally start working on the models you will need to hide/unhide or freeze/unfreeze the reference planes. Well, with Blueprint Manager, all these tasks are reduced to a few mouse clicks! What is it? Blueprint Manager is a MAXScript which automatically creates a set of mapped planes from a series of blueprint images, sets their object properties to non renderable, backface culling on, and show frozen in gray off, and places them in proper position. This is the URL to download the script

1 pointView File F-101A & C VooDoo. SF.2 2019 Redux. Reworked pack of F-101A and C VooDoo. Generally old good VooDoo in new dresses. There are some small changes in data.ini files mostly in weapon stations section - so Backup your original file. You might not like it. Despite VooDoo is extremely sexy aircraft it is much useless. Unfortunately. It was designed to be something different but had to serve in a totally different role. Nuclear Strike Aircraft. Because I'm always doing mods my way - to fit my needs. I wanted to have squadrons that used "fighting 101". So the thing is...this is one aircraft - because squadrons contained a mix of A and C versions and this aircraft had very limited use I decided to make one aircraft to cover both A and C version. By default, I used A version limits. Anyway, differences were only in the internal structure of airframe. Airframe 54-1491 served as CO aircraft in 27th TFW. So in the early sixties, it will pop up in special markings for 78th, 91st, and 92nd squadrons. If you want separate aircraft A and C you will have to do it on your own. Decals/serials for C are marked in numbers.lst with 'dot' . All new skins in 3072x3072 resolution. New bump maps and specular maps. also in 3072.. plus decals to cover A and C models serial numbers. Pack contains 11 skin sets for early use by 27th TFW and then 81st TFW - all squadrons that ever used F-101A / C (from different time periods to cover years of usage). All new decals consisting of 95 serial numbers for block 20-35 of A version and block 40-55 for C version. Backup your original F-101 Folders. Also Decals! Pack also includes the Mk.7 Tactical Nuclear Bomb. New model quickly made for purposes of this pack. And an extra thing for squadron/wing geeks - set of skins for squadron hack. Credits: Original models ErikGen yakarov - skins / decals / some small ini tweak / Mk.7 model Soulfreak - original skin for an extra thing. Have Fun. May the VooDoo be with you. 1 pointthose red boxes are auxiliary fuel tanks? If yes on left side need to be moved back. Can't be on exhaust section. Generally, auxiliary tanks were at the back of the hull. (yes many plastic scale models have it moved forward - but this is basically wrong)

1 pointWell I put it off for so long and took the plung only had it for some two weeks it works so much better than W7. The plus side is it is for the future, you will think it is just a revamped Windows 7. One thing I would say is DO back up your W7 stuff, Windows 10 will install and leave your Windows 7 and call if Windows 7 old. I could go on for ever in a nutshell I do not regret going to Windows 10. One last thing if I can live with it and work it ok and I am in my mid 70s any one can.

1 pointGeezer, It is great to have you back after your period of absence. Greatly appreciate all your efforts towards making FE and FE2 some of the most impressive abandonware on the planet. Someone way brighter than I said: "Better a diamond with a flaw, than a pebble with none". I guess he was saying everything reaches a point of diminishing returns. Most importantly, do what you enjoy. Thanks again.

1 pointAny real world professional knows that perfection is impossible, which is why - at some point - it is necessary to say "that's good enough." I've been slowly rebuilding my old files, as I had to clear my HD to make way for a contract job. Attached is a Russian Nieuport 21 armed with a Lewis gun, that needs file work to run ingame. Nieuport_21 Lewis Gun.rar EDIT: Crawford - I realize you have good intentions. I'm not trying to piss you off, because I appreciate your help. You must understand that I am busy with the Bleriot and interruptions disrupt my production flow.

1 pointWell since @kblomkvist is working on a F-35A skin for the JASDF, I decided to see about the feasibility of a F-35A mission in the upcoming first version of the Nihon Hitori 2020 single mission pak. I can think of just the perfect use for the F-35A with the current (publicly available) weapons load: Air Defense Suppression. Especially since the 8 SDBs and gun carried internally can take out a lot of air defense vehicles & guns with some substantial stealth. The Mitsubishi F-2A "Support Fighter"? Not so much. With that, here you go:

1 pointThere is an instant action for the Hornet in the Persian Gulf that is a guns only 2 vs 2 fight against the MiG-15bis. It reminds me of so many SFP1/SF2 fights with the F-4 vs the MiG-17. AI response is similar and tactics required to win are similar... Given both sims have fairly realistic flight models, here is why the combat feels so similar: Weight: F-4 41,500, F/A-18 36,970 A/B thrust: F-4 2x17,900, F/A-18 2x17,750 Mil thrust: F-4 2x11,905, F/A-18 2x11,000 Wing loading: F-4 41,500 / 530 = 78 lbs/ft^2, F/A-18 36,970 / 410 = 90 Wing span: F-4 38 ft 5 in, F/A-18 40 ft 4 in The Hornet's aspect ratio and maneuvering flaps make up for its wing loading, but a slatted F-4E has respectable AoA authority. The F/A-18C is really a slightly smaller F-4 with more agility, a bubble canopy, but slower and smaller stores load. The F/A-18E pretty much matches the size and payload of the F-4. Of course the MiG-17 is basically a MiG-15bis with an afterburner and wings swept back a bit more for better transonic/supersonic performance. At dogfight speeds, the MiG-15bis is a lot like a MiG-17F stuck in military power with a higher wing loading. So, beating the Korean War era MiG-15bis with an F/A-18C in a guns only fight is not much easier than beating a Vietnam War MiG-17F with a slatted F-4E. The Hornet can climb and turn using its power/weight advantage to spiral above the MiG-15 and then bleed that altitude pulling high AoA to saddle up for a medium to close range gunshot. It is a little bit easier than the F-4 vs MiG-17 because the Hornet can briefly pull some radical AoA to lead for a gun shot while the MiG-15 can't turn or retain energy quite as well as a MiG-17. If you try to beat the MiG-15 with a ham-fisted turn-n-burn fight, you will bleed your speed giving the MiG-15 a chance to gain angles or even get a decent shot. Of course flying an unslatted F-4 or better yet an F-100D or F-105D vs the MiG-17 is far more challenging, but the overall fight looks the same. You just have to be more proficient at exploiting boom-n-zoom opportunities given the AoA restrictions on unslatted F-4s.

1 pointBig white squares are missing tiles. In SF2 world it would be black squares. It could be, that it are tiles in jpg format, which IIRC SF1 cant handle.

1 pointSF1 is not SF2. Simple thing. Get SF2 and those silly questions won´t come into your mind. ;-)
