9 pointsSome Scooters: VMA-225 Vagabonds H&MS-15 Angels (Detachment on USS Hornet - all 4 planes were named after "shady girls") "Mamie Stover" "Polly Adler" and "Ko Sisters" "Fanny Hill" VA-192 Worlds Famous Golden Dragons - Always amazing, what level of detail is still possible in SF2 -> ravenclaws great weapons! ...and a final "BOOM"

3 pointsOne other factor, that I really don't know the answer to, is that the original Strike Fighters series started out in 2002. There are people out there that would probably enjoy the game that weren't even born then. Strike Fighters 2 came out in 2008, so there are probably some people that are now old enough to be interested in Strike Fighters, that have just plain never heard about it. It really would need to be re-marketed..and I'd argue that keeping the Strike Fighters 2 name does not really help. A bit of a rebranding with some new features might work wonders. I still think the key to success would be multiplayer (probably moreso than VR) but apparently that is hugely expensive. The hype that would be generated by watching half a dozen of us fly in MP on a strike against Haiphong or Port Stanley or Reykjavik would be phenomenal. I'm convinced that there is a market for SF2 type gameplay, but it has to be brought into the light by both the developer and us fans if we can get some improvements to showcase.

This is the newest version of the LODViewer. New features: -decal support -display of collision and pivot points -added transparency and wireframe display mode -user definable background color -view manipulation via keyboard -64 bit application -uses the OpenSceneGraph library and Qt 5.9.5 Install instructions: Extract the content of the zip package to a convenient location. The LODViewer depends on the Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 C++ libraries. If not already installed on the computer (e.g. by other applications) it has to be installed by running vcredist_x64.exe (you can find it in the redist subfolder of this package). Have fun! And report bugs Mue -
1 pointFound this in an old FXEXE install and almost forgot it needed just a bit more work because of harddrive issues in the past. A few more details will be added and texture mapping may still change a little. VonBeerhofen

1 pointI am a huge fan of multiplayer for SF2, but it was barely useable and unpopular as implemented in SFP1/WoX. TK has made it clear that only a very small minority actually use multiplayer, so it is far more cost effective for him to stick to focus on single player development. I have and love VR, but that is also a small minority of players. Other than a few bug fixes, I don't know what else TK could do to improve the sim with minimal time and money. All it really needs to compete with DCS World and IL-2 are: well-implemented multiplayer, VR, and a new terrain/graphics engine. But that is way out of TK's budget range in terms of money, time, and manpower. So, beyond this minor Win 10 compatibility fix, I don't see SF2 evolving any further than modders can take it.

1 pointView File SF2 What-if F-23A Aggressor skins Here's my set of 3 what-if aggressor skins for the F-23A Black Widow II by Dels. The background story is simple: what if the USAF decided to choose the F-23 instead of F-22 and what if they bought a lot of them, enough to form the aggressor squadrons too? You need to download and install the aircraft if you want the skins to work. 1 pointthat folder holds experimental river tiles, that have brown water instead of the stock 3W green. Which isn't quite right (information from friends, family that have been there - one older brother of my best friend growing up was in PBRs)

1 pointThe addition of the F-14A to SF2 was the biggest draw this sim ever had... and it fell flat. The mission editor had consumed tons of money and time, but didn't draw the money the forum posts promised and the F-14 that "everyone" wanted didn't draw the money either. TK is not without blame. Many of his decisions/code changes were questionable among the die hard fans over the last few releases/patches, but no matter what TK did, the market simply did not want what he was selling. This fund raiser proved that this fact remains true to this day. A few die hard fans does not make a sim profitable. For SF2 to advance, a whole lot of people have to want that to happen and put their money where their mouth is. This fund raiser shows that the fans willing to fund future development just aren't numerous enough. This is the final nail in the coffin of SF series PC development beyond PC ports of Android free-to-play games.

1 pointIt is not really a matter of time. TK could extend it two more weeks, and neither the number of donors nor the amount donated would double. TK cast his lure based on ripples in the pond. But it was nothing but minnows nibbling on the bread.

0 pointsAnt . wishing you the best, my prayers and a speedy recovery ...wow we are quite some work , even Kev and unfortunately me..as Kev knows, been having a lot of problems with my eyes,,, at the moment cant see anything out of my right eye and have to pay a visit to the OR again soon for operation no. 3 hopefully third times the charm
-
0 pointsCheers Kev....13mm that's a hell of a size. My bowel suddenly burst so I ended up being blue lighted into hospital for emergency surgery, after a few days they realised things were not going as they should be........rushed into surgery again, this time was more successful but certainly not a nice experience. So after a lot of tubes/drains etc I've finally been released home with a bag to collect my "stuff" and a set of wounds that need daily attention......at least I'm home now.
-
0 pointsDamn, I hope things are ok Ant!! I was in and out most of last for an -attempted- kidney stone removal (13.1mm - I can provide pictures if anyone wants to see it) that they couldn't get. Back and forth to the ER several times as the "outlet tube" had swollen shut or got blocked. Had to be catheteriezed and wore a bag and tube for several days. Not an experience I would wish on anyone. Especially the insertion and removal. And they still need to go back in at some time to get the f*cking stone!! ===== The other thing I was remembering about airfields, is even with crossing runway, the game only allows for 1 active. So the others are just eye candy. But putting dispersals around them is a good idea Torno seems to be showing us Kamhauber (sp?) towers
-
0 pointsThose runways were made by me...more of a generic WW2 bomber base, they are in the latest version of the UK Terrain with ini's to match. They usually show as 2 versions, early and late so that building types etc change . Sorry to be vague, only just got home after a 4 week stay in hospital.
