4 pointsFrenchie, already have the Dauntless skin done (just need a better model than Wolf's 2005 lod -- and we can't and WON'T use any DAT stuff) I if I need a translator, you are TOP of my list!!! SB2C (4) done - as we don't have the -5 with one-piece canopy A-26 done Hellcat (albeit a -3) done Saafire III done (several years ago) Ki-43 done (albeit ArmorDave's Ki-43-I, as opposed to the IIb, IIIb variants that were actuall used) F8F -done (one of the stock skins is AdA) F4U-7 - long time done! AU-1 needs creation (easy, as it's mapped as the F4U-7) Spit 9 (stock) although I may do a squadron specific skin

2 pointsArriving over Khe Sahn Wingo gunning troops in contact. I'm sitting on the ground by now with the rudder gone and lots of holes in the bird just off the opposite end of the runway. Forgot what key was mapped to shut the engine off. Last pass over the target area, NVA gunner got me good. You can see the smoke in the distance.

1 pointFrom TheDrive.com: I couldn't agree more... sure seems like a fun What-If project for one of you guys. Especially if the B-1C - and it would have to be a C because the F-111C was Aussie - had AMRAAM and anti-radiation missile capability... JOSEFK

1 pointi'm aiming to do a pack on early Bones next year (after i wrap up the SAC Varks). main focus is SAC era and the ANG squadrons in the 90s. but if our supposed KoalaBone is same color as the current fleet, wouldnt be a problem to upgrade 81 Wing as well. another possiblilty that was discussed (and even less likely to happen than going to RAAF) is giving them to the Navy and reviving the VPB squadrons, which is one i'd thought had on this as well https://othjournal.com/2019/04/15/a-bomber-for-the-navy/ back on topic, give me some ideas on what you'd want to see, then give me two weeks (a modders two weeks)

1 pointQuick update - saw often times there would be deep skid marks along these, so made a shot at that and updated panel connectors...

1 pointThank you Nightshade, appreciate that consideration but I always prefer to scratch build. I'm still waiting for some reference info, but thought I'd mock something up so the team can react to before I return next week. Here was an initial pass - of course eventually I would still need to adjust speculars/lighting and optimize the bump maps but you get a general idea of the initial form, colors, etc. It is a single strip about 90m wide and ~1345m long so need guidance on those dimensions and welcome any other changes needed.

1 pointFuel usage.. uhhm it could be Easy - you wont run out of fuel Normal - halfs the fuel consumption Hard - fuel consumption as set in the data Could be that TK had something on that on TW forum And the map size - thats just to make the map/distances to fly smaller/shorter to speed up gameplay.. it has no effect on how the planes function. Yes, Ive done the fuel gauge setup a few times. Ill have to find my notes to be sure, but its like this: The Value= entry is lb (or kg as set by ValueUnit=) per second For example, you have a fuel flow scale with a max flow rate mark of 10000 lb/h To have the entry for the 10000 lb/h mark, you divide 10000 by 60 = lb/h, then again by 60 = lb/s for the Value= Example from TW A-7E cockpit ini [FuelFlowIndicator] Type=FUEL_FLOW_INDICATOR NodeName=needle_fuelflow MovementType=ROTATION_Y ValueUnit=LB Set[01].Position=-222.10 Set[01].Value=0.083 <------------ 300 lb/h Set[02].Position=-15.50 Set[02].Value=1.389 <------------ 5000 lb/h Set[03].Position=46.10 Set[03].Value=4.167 <------------- 15000 lb/h Its a non-linear scale - values set for each range of the scale

1 pointI thank you for the assistance; you're going to have a big part in this, methinks. I've got access to really accurate maps, from the US Army Corps of Engineers, and -get this totally lucked out-- they're from 1954. Once I get everything repositioned/corrected, then each city will have to be rebuilt from scratch (especially Hanoi, Haiphong, Saigon, and many others.) I still haven't "fixed" on the level of detail yet -- obviously the rail system (at least in the cities), ports. Airfields have to have back-dated structures (ww2 type). Some airfields will still be the "stock concrete" runways, as there really isn't much choice. Others will be using the Runway 3 & Runway 2s. Obviously, there will be airfields in Viet Minh territory, but as they have no air force...???? Below is a sample, of the Hanoi region (also telling me I got the lake to the NW slightly "off", but the 3w terrain engine.....mmmmmm)

1 pointI just got back from seeing Midway and it was better than I thought it was going to be. I did feel like it was a bit too much the story of Dick Best and VB-6 and not enough the story of the Battle of Midway. I think that the overall story in the 1976 version was better in that respect.
